The Default Replacement Skin and Darker Tone Addon Are Here!

Hello! Sorry I disappeared for a bit, I had a summer class and didn’t have the motivation to do anything for the sims for a while.

This is a follow-up to my post here, where I preview what I was doing and why.

This download is two skinblends: one default replacement skin that covers the usual range, and one non-default skin that expands on that range into darker tones. I was fed up with how little detail was showing up on my sims with dark skin so I decided to take some time to figure out how to solve this, and I came up with what I explained in my previous post. The skins are for all ages and genders: baby to elder. Let me know if for some reason it isn’t showing up for one of those categories.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Put these in the Overrides subsection of your Mods folder. Make sure you don’t have a default replacement skin in your game already. You will need BOTH the Default Skin and the Tone Ramp Replacement files for your skin to display correctly. The other two files are non-default, but still highly recommended as they provide a wider range of skin tones.

KNOWN ISSUES: 

Scalp on the dark tone for default replacement/light tone for the addon has seams near the forehead. I tried my best to make it less noticeable, but with the skill and technology I currently have, this was the best I could do. I may go back and fix it later, and of course if someone more skilled wants to do it in the meantime, feel free to do so and tag me lol.

TS3: Eye Shader Tweaks

This mod requires the latest version of Lazy Duchess' Pixel Shader Modding Framework to work!

This is a tiny little mod for The Sims 3 that edits how the eye catchlights look on all human Sims, including occults with special eye glow, both in Live Mode and CAS. I tried to make them look generally softer and particularly less jarring when viewed at a distance, as opposed to EA's massive, distracting catchlights.

To this date I still have absolutely no idea what I'm doing with shader modding and this was just a work of trial and error, but I think the result is passable and so I'm happy to share it with anyone who's interested.

Compatibility

This mod is compatible with any default replacement eyes you may have, but I personally think it may look better if the eyes don't have a drawn-on catchlight.

It is also compatible with Lazy Duchess' Shader Tweaks. This mod and her pet catchlight fix included in Shader Tweaks both edit the same files. Her pet eye fix is included in this mod, so you can replace those files with mine and you'll have that taken care of with my human eye shader edit.

If you have a default replacement for cat and dog eye textures, chances are it already suppresses the otherwise broken catchlight for animals, so you can use my mod without having to worry about that at all.

This mod is also technically compatible with Mahamudo's aWT Eyeball Mesh as well as Buckley's conversion for Children and Toddlers, but you will only see the catchlights if you download the SimEyes version of each of those mods. The SimSkin version uses a different shader, and as such suppresses the catchlight (as well as any special occult eye effects,) meaning the effects of this mod will simply not show up.

Install Instructions & Download: SFS / Google Drive

Download and install the LATEST version of Lazy Duchess' Shader Framework (super important!!)

DELETE the files SimEyes.msasm, SimEyesLive.msasm and SimEyesLive2.msasm if they are in your shader_replace folder. Those pertain to the old version of this mod and will conflict with the new version!

Copy the contents of the shader_replace folder in simbouquet_EyeShaderTweak.zip to your own shader_replace folder in Game/Bin. Allow it to replace any files it needs to, including aliases.cfg, which is what lets the framework find the files it needs in the first place.

You're done!

I’ve heard your calls to bring Clear & Bright to ALL your worlds (all of them), and so here it is! Clear & Bright has been updated and is now in package format for easy insertion into your game!

Three distinct weather types:

Partially Cloudy

Overcast

You also occasionally get unique weather types found when transitioning between the three weather types

With a brand new DawnDusk-Glow™ sunrise and sunset system, you can now enjoy glorious mornings and evenings! On top of that, you get a realistic glow around your sun, some blue-green ocean water, a darker (but not too dark!) night, a stronger contrast between sunlight and shadow, a distance haze, and three distinct weathers.

The weather emphasizes subtlety and realism (no screaming colors), and was partially based on the weather in Black Desert Online. All images here are photoshop-free, for a true user experience.

Place into your mods folder and enjoy!

Using S3PE, export the weather files and import into your worlds for a custom weather unique to your world.

If you don’t have the Sims 3, you can place the file on your desktop and admire it there.

More Balanced Aspiration Attraction

If this aspect is unmodded, some aspirations have a much easier time gaining bolts than others. And it only becomes more apparent if you use a mod that adds secondary aspirations to the chemistry, as they're counted based on that same unequal system too.

So, I tweaked it in the way you can see from the table above. With this system, every aspiration has one other aspiration they're attracted to and one they have a penalty towards.

The attraction/penalty is only one-sided to prevent strong "ideal couples" like knowledge & family and pleasure & romance are with the original system. That being said:

All aspirations still find their own aspiration attractive

Grilled Cheese sims find their own aspiration massively attractive, so I didn't give them a boost with other aspirations at all

This mod is just a simple BCON tuning, meaning that if you want to make your own version, you can easily edit it further.

🚨 Nightlife is required. Conflicts with other edits of the global Attraction Constants, for example: @pforestsims' only TO chemistry, @bstu's no aspiration chemistry penalty, Peanutty's aspiration attraction mods, @belladovah's no zodiac chemistry, and @dreadpirate's zodiac overhaul.

Is compatible and recommended to be used with a mod that adds secondary aspirations to the chemistry. I use Midge's romantic standards myself :)

Simple Swimming Pond I don’t know who needs one but I decided to make a plain, no frills, swimmable pond lot for download. The only cc you will be required to download is an invisible floor tile, otherwise your sim is going to look like they are swimming on floor tiles. You can just download the invisible tile, then apply it to all tile in the pond. Then, decorate the lot to your delight, including adding stone wall paper to the foundation or different wooden floor tiles to the docks, adding terrain paints around the edges, or you can even replace the modular stairs with whichever kind you want. I’ve included two pool squares because I have the voeille water mod, and it needs it, if you don’t have a water mod you can delete those pool squares without any worry. Lot was cleaned with the CH lot cleaner. DOWNLOAD HERE  Invisible floor tiles Options: OPTION 1 OPTION 2 You can search for more on Google if you don’t want either of these.   Suggested CC for if you want a rustic swimming hole: Board and Ladder recolors Invisible Phone recolor  Or you can Google other options NOTE 1: Floor Edging will show at certain angles (you can kind of see my white ones in the top down view), that’s just how it is, especially if you have white floor edging or floor edging colors. NOTE 2: The tiled area is the ‘swimmable’ area. Sims will not go past those points, and those outer areas are where you can add lily pads and cat tails. For better pond decorating I highly suggest using the following cheats: - move_objects on - boolProp snapObjectsToGrid false - boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation true (this cheat is only available for Uni EP and above)  NOTE 3: If you would like to try your hand at building your own, this it the tutorial I use.

OMG! It's real. Swimmable Pond Sims 2.... whispers [For Download]

So, @kashmiresims literally is a genius. The base/pre made swimmable pond was made by them. I did the DECO, because I'm a DECO girlie. I've had my sims swimming their butts off.

It's literally so much fun. I also love that you can see the fish swimming with them, like OMG!
