I remember when I first saw the ghost files trailer and I was SO excited, like it required jumping around a bit. Then it came out and it was amazing.

Then mystery files was great too

And I didn’t think I would like puppet history but I started loving it and looking forward to all the silly little songs.

Every new show they made was met with excitement and love.

And now what? Just leave us all behind? The ones who can’t afford to watch what was once a comfort channel, we just get ditched like we mean nothing?

I would like to reiterate that I think the watcher company deserves the best and they deserve to earn for their creativity and hard work, but.This.Is.Not.The.Way.To.Do.It

All great alternatives

things the watcher guys could do that aren't CREATING A WHOLE ASS NEW STREAMING SERVICE THAT THE WORLD DOESN'T NEED:

put seasons of their shows out on DVDs. bonus if you can add behind the scenes content or even commentary that would then only exist on those dvds, so people have more reason to buy (leave the originals up as they are, though).

put their shows on already existing streaming services, preferably ones that are already popular rather than really niche ones, though I do understand that maybe getting your stuff on a popular streaming service is harder than on a less popular one so i wouldn't flame them for that.

idk sell more and better merch? like I've looked at their merch before and none of it seemed all that nice to me even though I am an impulse buyer and always wanted everything by the people I'm a fan of (you wouldnt believe the amount of clothes i have that are straight up youtuber merch. we're talking more than 2/3rds of my wardrobe). probably would have actually bought some of watcher's merch if it was better. the only thing I was ever tempted to buy was the professor plushie.

also lowering the price of good merch even marginally (without making it not-profitable) = more people can afford it = you earn more.

create a new show that isn't already available for free and put that on your patreon or something. give your viewers who can afford it a better reason to pay you.

Devastated

the fact that last week we were all so hyped for the big news and now we look like this:

We all understand wanting to leave YouTube. The issue here is, instead of just getting their own website and shifting the content, they are going full throttle on making their fans pay for every single aspect- including content they’d already been given for free, over multiple years.

Plenty of content creators have had their own content sites over the years, with free content and then content specifically for their paid tiers. Not unlike Patreon but everything in the same place. So that fans could enjoy their content, especially videos they’re already viewed and enjoyed for free, but they are getting their freedom and their subscriptions.

It’s a strictly business decision and that’s fine. I just hope they’re prepared for how many regular viewers they’re going to lose because people can’t afford this, or straight up just aren’t willing to pay for something they used to get to free.

I’m actually crying omg

Listen I’m not normally an emotional person but this, this has made me cry and lay on the floor of my room for the past hour.

I get that they want to grow and become independent and earn some more money, and they 100% deserve it, but effectively cutting out a major portion of their fanbase is not the way to do that!

Move to a new platform, sure

Make your own platform, go for it!

But don’t shut everything behind a paywall!!

Make it like a free thing with ads and you can pay to get rid of the ads or something like a premium service.

Anyway I guess goodbye watcher, I loved you guys, and I hope one day either something changes or I become financially stable enough to pay for a subscription.

I do often wonder what the Tyler's neighbours thought after the Doctor made an entrance into Rose's life. Like, Rose's disappears for a whole year. Jackie blames the boyfriend. Rose then turns up, and they hear from Jackie that Rose had been travelling with some kind of Doctor!

Not to mention, he looked old enough to be her dad! They see him around for a while now and then, when Rose comes to see Jackie. But suddenly, he disappears! And now Rose is off travelling with a younger man, who also seems to be a Doctor!

Poor Mickey! Dropped by his girlfriend for two different blokes! And then of course, one day Mickey disappears as well! Rumour has it he had been at that school which blew up, but never came home! Then came the ghosts, and then Rose is back with her second Doctor, holding hands and giggling. They seem totally surprised by the turn of events. Like, where on Earth could they have been travelling that didn't have any Ghosts?

By the end of the day, all of the Tylers are missing.

Only a man in an army coat comes by once to knock on the flat door. But there's no answer, and he leaves looking crestfallen. And now the Powell Estate feels less joyful. The Tyler's had been a fixture for over two decades. They'd comforted Jackie when her poor husband had died in that tragic accident. They'd watched little Rose grow without her father, but incredibly close to her mother.

They watched a heartbroken Jackie as she searched for a whole year for her only child. And watched with happy surprise as they reunited unexpectedly.

But now they were all gone. Even Mickey Smith, the happy go lucky kid who'd always had a soft spot for Rose. All they knew for sure, was that that family fell into trouble the moment Rose met that first Doctor. And it had only gotten worse from there.

Couple of years pass, and they hear rumours that Mickey Smith has suddenly reappeared. Only he doesn't return to the estate, and marries a woman named Martha apparently.

They don't blame him for not returning to the Estate.

Too many ghosts.
