So I’m on a trip with my robotics team and there’s only two “girls” (me, an enby, and a cis girl), so we get our own beds in our own room, but the guys are rooming four to a room, but there’s only two beds in each room. Which means that two guys are sleeping on the floor every night.
I’m not joking. They were literally arguing over who’s sleeping on the floor tonight (apparently they plan on rotating).
And I asked them “why don’t you just share a bed?” And they all gave me the same answer:
“No, that’s weird! That’d be gay!”
And I just looked at them and I decided to break the bad news to them
“If lying next to another guy makes you wanna suck dick, you already wanted to suck dick.”
I’ve never seen so many Straight Guys™️ enraged by a single sentence before
i think queer people should be more confusing actually. i think we should make everyone as confused as possible until they give up and realize that total understanding of other people isnt the gateway to respect and compassion
screaming into the void that life is not and should never be a competition
you’ll only make yourself miserable if you view it as such because there will always be milestones you don’t hit at the expected time or at all, there will always be people who earn more than you, people who seem better off in any multitude of ways
if you view life as a competition then you are almost certain to view yourself as a loser
you are not a loser
life is not a competition
do things at your own pace, do what makes you happy, and anyone who makes you feel like you’re not living correctly can fuck right off
ok but also the fact that Orpheus is a musician, a musician so good he’s able to open a path to the Underworld and soften Hades enough that he lets Eurydice go (ofc with the stipulation that Orpheus can’t look back)
so here Julie is Orpheus, the crazy talented musician who can bring back the dead, and Luke is Eurydice, following her and singing “never look back” as a reminder to keep going forward until they’ve escaped the darkness and are reborn
Thinking about how Julie and The Phantoms play Stand Tall at The Orpheum.
The Orpheum, named after Orpheus, who couldn't look back at Eurydice until they got back to the upper world
Stand Tall, with the lyrics 'Never look back'
That's just funny to me. Idk, someone else with a bigger brain needs to do an extended piece on this
