Sooyoung realized it immediately when she walked in.
“Oh wow, someone’s in preheat.”
You sighed. “Is it that noticeable?”
She dropped her bag on the counter. “Honey, it smells like you took a shower in unicorn pee.”
“Unicorn pee?”
“I can’t imagine anything else smelling so good and yet so overwhelmingly bad,” she said with a shrug, turning to rummage around the cabinets. “You going to take the day off when your heat hits?”
“Oh, um.” You shrunk down in your seat on the couch. “Not exactly.”
The alpha paused, turning around slowly with narrowed eyes. “What did you do?”
“Look, hear me out,” You started. “It’s only Monday. My heat will probably hit on Thursday, and then I’ll have to call in sick for two days.”
“Wow, two days off work. How tragic,” Sooyoung said sarcastically, still standing with her arms crossed.
You gave her a look. “However, if I can hold off my heat until after work on Friday, I can ride my heat out during the weekend. No need to call in sick at all!”
“Right. And go back to work immediately after your heat?”
You could tell that her alpha wasn’t pleased with the idea of you working after such a harsh experience. Most omegas took at least a few days off after their heat to recover, but it wasn’t impossible for you to function the day after.
Betas wouldn’t need a day off to recover.
“It’s only my second week at this job, Youngie. I can’t afford to be using up my sick days so soon!”
“And yet I know for a fact that you’ll use some other excuse the next time your heat comes up.” She paused, narrowing her eyes as she realized something. “Wait. The only way you’ll manage to delay your heat is with suppressants.”
You looked down.
“You know how badly those affect you!”
“It’s only two days!”
Sooyoung threw her hands up into the air. “Fine, you know what? Do what you like. You’re a grown adult capable of making her own stupid decisions. But don’t come crying to me at the end of the day when those symptoms wreak havoc on you.”
You watched through silent fury as your roommate practically stomped to her room. The door slammed loudly behind her, and you were tempted to comment on it just to get the last word in, but you held your tongue.
In reality, you knew she had every right to be worried. Heat suppressants were normally only used for emergencies, not because they had any negative consequences on the body itself, but because the symptoms were so horrible that no normal person would willingly subject themselves to them unless they absolutely had to.
Headaches, fatigue, heightened senses, heat flashes, brain fog, stomach cramps. Heat suppressants forced the production of pre-heat hormones and suppressed the actual heat from happening for a short period of time, but, as an unfortunate side effect, it enhanced all the pre-heat symptoms and dialed them up to a 100.
Compared to the milder heat symptoms (slick production and high libido) it seemed odd to want to endure two days of all that. But your heat would make your scent so strong, to the point that your scent blockers wouldn’t work anymore, so it was a necessity.
At least that’s what you told yourself.

You weren’t sure what to expect from the Alpha you were bringing home. The entire ride in his car, besides giving out directions, nothing was said between the both of you. Even now, awkwardly standing in your kitchen, he looked like he was losing the motivation he originally had, and you wondered if you would end up being left high and dry.
“Do you want some water? Or something else to drink?” You leaned against your counter, hoping that a simple conversation would help him relax.
He shook his head. “I’m fine.”
“You sure? You look like your seconds away from bolting.”
“Ah, am I that obvious?” He let out a chuckle, reaching up to scratch at his forehead. “I’ve never really done something like this before.”
You tilted your head in interest. “Oh? What makes me so special?”
He didn’t say anything at first, instead choosing to move forward until he was leaning against the other side of the counter. The two of you were close enough that you could reach out and touch him if you wanted, but part of you was curious to see if he would make the first move.
“I don’t know,” he answered truthfully.
“You sure it’s not my charmingly good looks?” You said it jokingly, but he rested his chin against his hand.
“No, it’s something else. Something … special.”
You felt your omega perk up at the compliment, and you could smell your scent begin to grow. You pulled back from the counter to stand up straight. If things were going to progress any further, you needed to take this back to your room. You didn’t want Sooyoung to have to deal with the scent of arousal lingering in the communal areas.
“Well then, mr. charmer. How about we take this to my room?” You held out your hand, and he took it.
His hand was warm and heavy in yours.
You opened up your bedroom door, and you found yourself staring at his ass as he passed. “What’s your real name anyways?”
“My real name?” The alpha looked around your room with a thoughtful look. “It’s not that important.”
You raised your eyebrows” What do I call you, then?”
“Hmmm.” You couldn’t see his face through his mask, but the way he gazed at you made you feel like you were being stripped apart to your bare bones, and you could imagine the curl of his lips. “You can call me Alpha.”
His scent began to come out stronger, like a breeze on a hot day, and you found yourself hoping it would linger long after he was gone.
You shut the door.
“Well, alpha,” You said, deliberately drawing the word out. “You going to wear that mask all night?”
He seemed to grow almost … shy. “I- actually, I think I’d prefer to keep it on.”
“It’s okay,” You assure him, not wanting him to feel insecure.
“I mean, I do want to kiss you,” He started, taking a step towards you. You could see the moment he hesitated to reach out to you, his hand dropping down to his side in a clenched fist. “If you want, that is.”
You let out a bark of laughter. “Oh sweetie, I’m pretty sure inviting you over was an invitation for much more than just a little kiss.”
This time he didn’t stop himself from reaching out to you, his hands lingering on your waist as his eyes flittered across your space. You reached up for his mask, the idea of kissing him the only thing you can think of. You wanted to know what he looked like. How soft his lips would be.
He grabbed your wrist. “I can’t let you see my face.” He sounded almost regretful.
“It’s okay,” You reassured him once more. “I can close my eyes.”
And you did. You stood there, eyes closed, and let your smile grow as he dropped your wrist, the sound of fabric shifting in front of you. For a second, he left you waiting. You didn’t open your eyes, but you did reach out to place your hand against his bare jaw.
His lips were as soft as you hoped they would be.
Your hands roamed down from his face to his neck, using your grip on his to pull him closer. It felt like he was inhaling your very essence, His scent covered you, and you moaned against his lips as his body pressed against yours. He smiled, lips still pressed against yours.
You pulled away from the kiss, but immediately pushed your face into his shoulder to keep yourself from the temptation of opening your eyes.
“You good?”
“I think it’s going to be a little hard to remember to keep my eyes close if you keep kissing me dumb like that.”
His chest rumbled as he laughed, grip on your waist tightening. “Sorry?”
“Hmmm, it’s not a complaint. Just an observation.” You pulled out of his hold completely, waving your hand in his direction. “Turn around for a second.”
You didn’t wait to see if he did as you asked, moving towards your closet with a goal in mind. It took a little bit of rummaging in the farthest corner of one of your drawers, but eventually you managed to find what you were looking for. You pulled it out with a shout of triumph.
“Is that a blindfold?”
“Yup!” You slapped a hand over your eyes and turned around, wiggling the cloth out in front of you. “Genius, right?”
“You just happened to have that lying around?”
The cloth was pulled out of your hands, and you turned around. “What can I say, I’m full of surprises.”
Warm arms wrapped around your waist. The heat of his body was hot against your back, and as his hands began to trace up and down your sides, you felt something in you shifting. You shuddered, body responding by releasing a wave of your scent, and he responded with his own scent of arousal that made your body feel almost pliant.
“So you are.” The blindfold was pulled over your eyes, and you shut them instinctively. The cloth brushed over your eyelids as he began to form a knot at the base of your head. “Tell me if it’s too tight.”
Your mind began to grow heavy as your omega pushed forward, the smell of alpha heavy on your tongue. When he finished tying off the blindfold, he leaned against your back, his mouth pressing a soft kiss to the juncture of your neck. You tilted your head to the side, an ache to feel his teeth pressing against the skin running through you and causing slick to drip down your thighs.
You let out a whine.
“Easy baby girl. I got you.”
His warmth disappeared, and you opened your eyes. The blindfold made it so that you could make out the shadows of the dark room, a vague shape of a person as they removed their clothes. You reached down to grab the hem of your own shirt.
“No, don’t,” He said, voice thick. “Let me.”
You grabbed his hands, using your newfound sight to reach out wrap your hands around his neck. This time, you were the one to initiate the kiss, eyes falling closed not out of necessity but on instinct.
“You okay?” He asked you again when your knees suddenly buckled.
“Like I said. Those kisses of yours are dangerous,” you breathed out.
He decided to take it as an invitation to pull you back in for another kiss, although this one was quicker and sweeter.
It almost felt like love.
His lips pressed against yours once, twice, and then a third time before he trailed them down to your jaw, sliding them slowly down to your neck. When he began to suck against the skin there, you pulled away with a whine.
"No marks, please. I have work."
He moved his hands under your shirt and began to pull it up. You could only barely see his figure as he leaned down, his lips reappearing against the tops of your now exposed breasts.
"I assume you mean no marks where they can be seen?"
"Yeah."
"Hmm." He pressed a kiss to your skin, tongue darting out to glide from the tops of your breast towards your nipples. He teasingly pulled against them as he passed, moving to press another kiss just to the side. "Is this okay?"
"Yes," You said, voice breathless.
He pulled your shirt off completely, pressing a kiss to your shoulder. He began to lead you towards the bed. Even without your sight, the mattress was familiar under your body, and you instinctively relaxed into the sheets.
You made grabby hands at him. He laughed, kneeling on the bed next to you and allowing your hands to roam across his skin. He still had on his boxers, and when you moved to pull them down, he grabbed your hands and pressed them gently down against the bed.
“Patience,” He told you, his voice rumbling.
You pouted, and he kissed your lips with another laugh. He continued where he had left off, his mouth on your breasts as his hands grabbed your thighs, pulling them apart so he could slot himself in between them. The motion pressed his clothed cock against your center, and you moaned at the feeling.
“Please,” you found yourself breathing out.
His mouth trailed kisses down your body, hands swiftly pulling both your pants and underwear down in one go. “Got to get you ready first, sweetheart.”
“Awfully confident in yourself, huh?” You joked.
“Hmm, something like that,” He drawled.
You expected him to get straight to it, but he took his sweet time. Laying kisses along your inner thigh, caressing your legs up to your hips. You wiggled your hips impatiently, but he just smiled against your skin.
“You’re doing a really good job at getting under my skin,” You told him, running your fingers through his hair. “If you don’t hurry up, I might just have to get myself off.”
He nosed your center, and your body flared up with want. “Good things come to those who wait.”
“Alpha, please.”
“That’s it.” He rewarded you by finally mouthing at your core, licking a stripe up to your clit where he sucked gently.
You were already wet with slick from all the teasing and foreplay, but his mouth on you made you gush, your core clenching around nothing, When he pressed a finger into you, you bucked your hips, and he laid a hand across your stomach to keep you from moving.
You let out a moan, fingers gripping his hair tightly as he ate you out. He added another finger, and the sound was filled with wet squelching sounds as he fingered you gently, softly crooking his fingers to press against your spongey insides as he sucked against your clit.
Your orgasm built up slowly, but it hit you quicker than you expected, your body writhing under him as you whined. He pulled away, his other hand reaching up towards his face, and you could only imagine the sight he made.
“Fuck, you taste so sweet,” he said, finger rubbing small circles against your clit. “Could stay here forever.”
“Please, alpha,” You whined.
“Please what?”
“I need you.”
He moved up your body. “Need me to what?”
“I want you to fuck me,” You said impatiently.
He grabbed your body and flipped you over so quickly that it made your head spin, and you pressed you forehead to your pillow with a gasp, “Ask and you shall receive,” He told you, and you could feel him moving around behind you.
You lifted your hips and presented for the alpha, your omega instincts taking over. His scent intoxicated you, filling your senses and making you feel dizzy, wanting nothing more than to submit to him in every way possible.
He took his sweet time once again, rubbing his member through your folds before he slowly pressed into you. He was right to have prepared you because he was thick, stretching you and filling you up completely. You couldn’t even moan, like your breath had been stolen. Your fingers dug into your blankets, eyes shutting behind the blindfold.
“Fuck.”
The alpha gave you a second to adjust once he had bottomed out, rubbing against your sides gently. “You good, omega?”
“So good,” You mumbled.
When he started to move, it made you whine. He thrust into you slowly at first, but his hips began to speed up slowly, the sound of skin slapping filling the room. You let out a moan as his fingers gripped your thighs, sure to leave marks. You pressed your knees against the mattress and moved to sit up, hands reaching behind you in an attempt to feel his skin against yours. He pressed himself to your back without having to be asked.
His warm breath against your shoulder, mouth teasingly close to your scent gland, had you reaching your release quickly.
You let out a whine.
“Shh, I got you,” he whispered into your ear. His hands roamed from your thighs up your chest and towards your neck, fingers gently pressing against your throat. “God, you’re so tight.”
You whined. “Alpha, please!”
“Just a little longer. You can hold on just a little longer, cant you? Hmm? Don’t you want to be good for your Alpha?”
You were so close. Your body felt like it was on fire and your head spun, the darkness that seemed to engulf you left your nerve endings so sensitive, and you couldn’t see him, could think, couldn’t do anything more than accept the pleasure he was giving you. He seemed to know that you were at your breaking point, because as a whine began to build in your throat, he pulled away.
His fingers pressed right where you needed them most, and you found yourself spiraling.
“Cum for me, Omega.”
You woke up with a start, your mind still heavy with lust and sleep. It took you a moment to realize that you had been dreaming, and then you were falling back to your bed with a groan, swiping a hand down your face.
It was your memories from that night with Chan.
It seemed like your pre-heat sex dreams were making their appearance. Usually they were some random fantasies, but you supposed it made sense that you would be hit with a memory this time around.
Your thoughts wandered to the shirt still in your drawer. It almost seemed to be calling for you.
You let out another groan.
This was going to be a long week.
-0-0-
You were convinced that heat suppressants had to have been created as a form of torture.
The headache made every noise feel like a punch to the brain, not helped by the fact that your hearing was so sensitive that everything above a cough sounded like an airhorn to your brain. Even the painkillers you took that morning were doing little to dull the hammering in your head.
And yet, you tried your best to keep a smile on your face, made ever difficult from having to deal with the managers.
You had been thrown for a loop when you found out on Tuesday morning that Felix had gone into heat. It was all the staff members were talking about. You hoped that the idol’s heat and rut cycles weren’t normally a topic of interest for the company, but you understood why this time they all were freaking out about it.
Stray Kids’ comeback was scheduled for next week.
It would be hard for you to have to go back to work the day after your heat ended, but finding out that Felix was expected to be on stage and promoting less than a week after his almost made you feral.
“What do you mean the comeback will continue as planned?”
Jeonhui gave you a hard look. You knew that as a new employee, and only a translator who was in the meeting to be kept up to date with the upcoming schedule, the idea of speaking out was unheard of. But when the news that the comeback would still be happening on the expected date, your mouth opened before your brain could catch up.
The head manager, Soojin, gave you a puzzled look. “Is there a reason we shouldn’t?”
The entire room was looking at you, but you forced yourself to focus only on the manager. “Felix finished his heat less than a day ago.”
“Yes?”
“Even for a normal person, a comeback is stressful. Long nights, early mornings, practices and schedules and stage performances and interviews … do you really think that’s the best thing for an omega who just had their heat to deal with?”
There was a moment where Soojin looked almost understanding, his eyes soft and a small smile on his face. You thought that you might have actually gotten through to him. You thought for a second that maybe you could make an impact on this company, give them some knowledge of the artists they were supposed to be managing and caring for, and that you could actually change the way the industry worked.
But it shattered with his next words.
“I appreciate the concern, but I assure you our omega’s can handle the load just fine. We’ve had both omegas and alphas going back to work right after heats and ruts, and there’s never been a complaint in the past.” The other staff managers nodded along as if what he was saying was common knowledge. “If they needed more time to recover, they would have said something.”
You thought about the pressure building in your head, the way your skin felt like it was crawling, the constant cramped pain your stomach was enduring, all so that you wouldn’t go into heat. All so you could keep pretending to a room full of betas.
All so that those same betas could make decisions about omega’s and alphas they knew nothing about.
It made you want to scream.
“Maybe,” You managed through clenched teeth. “They never say anything because they know that if they do, the company would use it as proof that omegas are more trouble than their worth.”
Soojin and the other managers gave you a surprised look. From the corner of the room, Maya was given you a proud smile, but the other stylists around her looked confused and even annoyed.
“Why do you care so much about this anyways? What are you, an omega expert?” One of them said.
And his words felt like a bucket of water had been dumped over your slightly overheated body. You immediately bowed your head, realizing that you had brought more attention on your head than was necessary, and it was obvious you were fighting a losing battle.
“I’m just … worried. Just seems like those boys could use some rest,” You mumbled in excuse.
Stupid. How could you be so stupid.
Now everyone would know you as that one translator who argued about an omegas needs. At best they would think you were out of line, but at worst …
“It’s quite alright,” Soojin assured you, although the look Jeonhui gave you told you that the two of you would be talking later. “But like you said, comeback is stressful for all of us, including the staff. This is why we put in all the hard work! I want to take a moment to thank all of the staff for helping make this a possibility-“
And just like that, your little outburst seemed to be forgotten.
It didn’t make you feel any better to know that your words were so easily dismissed. As Thursday turned into Friday, you made the conscious decision to not take your heat suppressants that morning, knowing you would need your heat to start either than night or early Saturday morning if you wanted your heat to end by Sunday night.
You ignored the looks Sooyoung gave you as you left for work.
Just as promised, you had been avoiding her all week. When the cramps hit you late at night and you cried out, you muffled the sound with your pillow to avoid waking her. She didn’t mention the quickly dwindling supply of pain medication (you reminded yourself to pick some up after work).
It made a part of you ache to know you had disappointed your friend. But it also made you feel proud to know that you were still doing what you had dreamed of doing for so long.
You just had to keep moving forward.
Friday went by normally, and almost easier than the past three days. The suppressants started to flush out of your system around noon, and the symptoms you had been dealing with started to fade, making it easier for you to work. The heat symptoms would come around soon, but you weren’t too worried about it hitting you fully until you were back home.
You were just finishing up your last assignment of the day when you caught the scent of a familiar smell.
“Oh no.”
Minho appeared at your doorway within seconds, and you secretly cursed the enhanced sense of smell that had yet to wear off, because the strong scent of alpha had your omega perking her metaphorical ears up instantly.
He had probably just finished dance practice judging by the sweat covered shirt he had yet to change out of.
You forced your eyes away from him and back to your screen. “Can I help you?”
“I’m sorry.”
You paused your typing, risking a glance to look at his face. He looked straight faced, almost bored at first, but you could smell the shame that was hidden beneath the rest of his scent, and you turned to face him completely.
“What are you sorry for?” You asked him.
He looked away. “I yelled at you when we first met. It was … inappropriate.”
“You were protecting your pack,” You corrected him, turning back to your work. “You did what you thought was right.”
Minho continued to stare at you from the doorway, not saying anything. You finished what you were working on and began to wrap everything up so you could leave. In the few minutes it took you to do that, he didn’t say anything.
You grabbed the files you had to drop off to your manager before you left. “I’m serious, Minho. It’s fine.”
When you stood up, a few papers that had been caught under your files fluttered to the ground. Before you could move to grab them, Minho was there, picking up the papers and tapping them on the ground so that they would be stacked up together, lifting his head up to look at you.
And you immediately felt something in your stomach twist, and your head spun.
He stood back up, unaware of your internal freak out, and handed you the papers. You took them with shaking hands.
“Thanks,” You breathed out.
Minho frowned. “Are you okay?”
No, you wanted to scream at him. I’m going into heat and a stupidly handsome alpha was on his knees looking up at me and now I’m losing my goddamn mind.
But instead, you forced a smile on your face. “Fine.” It came out squeaky, and you winced. “I, uh. Gotta go!”
You rushed out of there as quickly as you could.
As if your day couldn’t get any worse, you completely missed an equally sweaty and tired looking Chan as he was walking out of the elevator, and he had to grab your shoulders to keep you from running him over. His scent, equally as strong, only made your chest ache more.
Chan smiled. “Ah, just who I was looking for!”
You eyed him curiously. “Wow, I’m really popular these days, huh?”
“What?”
“What did you need?” You asked him as you walked into the elevator. He followed you in.
“I wanted to let you know that I talked with Felix.”
“Oh, how is he, by the way? I heard about what happened.”
Chan gave you a soft smile. “Ah, he’s fine. He …. He wants to meet with you.”
The elevator opened, and someone stepped in. It was a random staff member you didn’t recognize, probably not even a stray kid’s staff member, but both you and Chan remained silent until she left. You turned to Chan as the elevator made its way up to your manager’s floor.
“I think we should wait until after your comeback,” You told him.
“Yeah, that’s probably for the best,” Chan sighed. “We’ll have enough on our shoulders this week.”
You scowled. “Ugh, don’t even remind me.”
He let out a laugh. “Ah, I heard about what you did yesterday.”
You covered your face in embarrassment as the elevator door opened. “Uh, I’m just going to go before I say anything even worse.”
Chan was still laughing as you left, but he called out for you before the doors closed. His smile was one of the last things you saw as his words reached you.
“Thank you.”

Can we have a spoiler for the next secret secret chapter
heheh, yes you may
wasn't sure if I wanted to share the entire scene, so I just picked my favorite parts:
This is for those who like cute moments
You watched as he slurped up the noodles from his chopsticks, the red broth staining the corners of his mouth even as he licked up the remaining moisture. With a small smile, you reached over with a napkin to wipe it away, and he turned to you with wide eyes and full cheeks. You snickered. “I can see why fans compare you to a squirrel.” Jisung whined, but with his mouth full, he couldn’t say anything to defend himself.
This is for something to look forward to
“Besides, it’s not like I come here everyday. Although, if I knew I’d find such nice company, I probably would have come here sooner,” You said, pushing your shoulder gently against his. “Ah, I don’t come here often either. Although, if you asked, I would definitely show up just for you.” Jisung gave you a wicked grin, and you covered your mouth with a laugh in hopes of hiding your flushed cheeks, shaking your head in amusement. You didn’t know him that well, but you weren’t expecting something like that to come out of his mouth. “Wow, Jisung. Are you flirting with me?” He leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand. “And if I am?”
And this one is just for my own amusement
“Yah! Stop laughing!” “I can’t,” You said breathlessly. “Seriously, you’re ruining the moment.” You just laughed harder, eyes closed and chest hurting from the shakes that wracked your body. Hands grabbed your waist gently, and you titled your head down with a smile. Jisung looked up at you, eyes betraying his amusement. “You done?” You took a deep breath. “Yeah, I think I’m good. I’m sorry.” “Good.” It was then that you realized just how close the two of you had gotten since your laughing attack. His hands were still on your waist, face inches apart. You felt your smile drop slowly, eyes darting down to his mouth on instinct. Or maybe it was want. It felt odd, because you couldn’t smell him. He was wearing scent blockers. And even if he could smell you, it wasn’t your real scent, and it wouldn’t be affected by your feelings. Neither one of you was being drawn in to each other based on instinct. And yet there you were, staring at each other in a knowing way, both of you too afraid to make that first move. You didn’t even know each other that well. His hand tightened on your waist, and you reach out to grab his forearms, not sure if you wanted to pull him away, or pull him closer. Jisung let go. “We should head back.” “Yeah.” You forced down the disappointment. It was for the best. So why did it feel so wrong?
Enjoy!

Secret Secret Chapter 5

OT8 Straykids x reader, ABO AU
Masterlist | Part 4

Date Day Pt. 2
Tumblr media
Pieces of My Heart - Chapter 17 Stray Kids OT8 x reader, Soulmate AU Trigger Warning: Midly suggestive comment made, creepy behavior, and technical assault (reader gets grabbed)
Masterlist |
You got a message as you were getting ready. Having just finished taking a shower, you checked your phone to see that it was Sophie, who had sent you some memes and a sweet message asking how you were. You answered truthfully telling her you were good but still getting used to a new place. After a second to consider it, you sent her a photo of your two favorite outfit ideas with a question mark.
She answered back immediately.
Sophie
oooh, date night?
the first one looks really good, the second one is
a little too revealing
let me know how it goes :)
yeah, first date. kinda nervous
wish me luck!
The flood of sweet messages that followed made you smile. You took the outfit she had chosen (which included a beautiful soft sweater that just so happened to match Felixs’) and put it on. You finish getting ready just in time to hear a knock on the door, and you grab your keys and phone before opening the door.
You pause, and then hold up a finger. “Give me a second.”
For your birthday a year prior, you had been given a polaroid camera. The first few weeks you had been obsessed, taking pictures of everything and anything just to shake the polaroids out and feel cool doing it, but eventually you had gotten over it. The camera had been rediscovered in the process of packing your bags, and you had brought it along on a whim.
The sight waiting for you at the front door felt like the perfect opportunity to use it.
Felix and Hyunjin were both caught off guard when you snapped the first photo, but as you shake out the photo, they quickly get excited. They both pose for the second photo without you even having to ask. You hold up the first polaroid as the second one develops, showing it to the two boys with a smile as they crowd next to you to take a look.
Breathtakingly beautiful, and yet somehow homey, you were surprised that Hyunjin had toned down his date outfit compared to what he would normally wea. He had picked an all-black outfit that wouldn’t stand out so easily but still managed to make him look like a hundred bucks. He had his hair slicked back, and you knew his face would mostly be covered with a mask while out in public, but in the photo you could appreciate his model good looks in full.
Felix somehow managed to look ethereal, even with wide eyes of surprise. His mouth was slightly parted, having caught sight of the camera just before you took the photo. His hair was slightly messy, freckles barely seen with the washed-out coloring of the polaroid, but he looked just as beautiful as always, even though he was slightly blurry.
“Yah, a little warning would have been nice,” Felix said, even though he smiled down at the photo.
Hyunjin was already looking at the second. “Ah, this one came out so good. Do you mind if I take a photo of it?”
“Don’t go posting any photos on social media just yet. You don’t want fans to recognize you,” You warned.
“I know,” Hyunjin said, pulling out his phone. “I’ll post it later.”
You hear another snap and look back at Felix just in time to see him shaking out one last polaroid, and you roll your eyes. He smirks.
“Had to get one of you too. Especially when you look so breathtaking.”
“Hmm, they’d look so pretty in a photo shoot, wouldn’t they,” Hyunjin muttered, glancing at you out of the corner of his eye as he takes a photo of the polaroid. “All the beautiful clothes they could wear.”
Felix eyes the photo he took of you. “I think they’d look prettier if they weren’t wearing anything at all.”
“Felix!”
“Sorry babe,” He said, not looking sorry at all.

You weren’t normally a big fan of museums. The paintings were pretty enough, but they never really spoke to you the same way you assumed it did to more artistic people, like Hyunjin. Still, the instillation that he had brought you two for your date was not only the most colorful thing you had ever had the pleasure of walking through, but somehow also very open in its meaning.
You noticed it from the very first room you three walked in. It was covered in colorful strings, which at first just looked pretty, but from certain points in the room the strings would line up just right enough for an image to form. You spotted a butterfly first, and then what looked like a leaf.
Felix waved you over from the furthest corner, joined by two teenagers and a family of three.
“It’s the cocoon. I’m guessing that there’s a caterpillar somewhere,” he told you.
You looked around until you spotted another small group of people in a spot you hadn’t been to before. After pointing it out to him, the two of you walked over hand in hand to find that it was indeed the spot where the strings formed a caterpillar, and he grinned, leading you around the room to watch the entire process take place. You met back up with Hyunjin at the door to the next room, and he eyed your joined hands with a smirk.
“How are you liking the colors?” He asked Felix.
Felix looked back at the strings with wide eyes. “I’m more surprised they managed to form different images with the same strings.”
“Hmm, I think you’ll like this one too.”
Hyunjin led the two of you into the next room. The walls and sectioned off parts of the floor had what you assumed were cotton, only they were dyed in soft pastel colors that matched the soft pastel ombre of the walls and floors. The cotton in the sectioned of portions had small entrances, where workers would allow small groups of 3 or 4 people walk across the ground barefoot. Felix let out a small sound in surprise.
“Wow. It’s like the colors are … only kind of there, but still there. So white.”
You hummed. “I think it’s supposed to be the sky. Look, it’s mostly blue, red, orange, and pink. It’s like a sunset.”
“The cotton is the clouds,” Hyunjin agreed, taking Felix’s other hand. “Want to go walk on the clouds with me?”
Felix nodded, and the three of you made it over to the sectioned off portion. You had to wait a few minutes in the line to walk across, and the worker warned you all to walk slowly and to be careful, but once you felt the ‘clouds’ under your feet you knew that it was worth the wait. You were also immediately sure that it wasn’t cotton you were walking on.
“It’s so soft!” Felix exclaimed, wiggling his toes.
The boys waddled ahead of you, Hyunjin even reaching down to touch whatever you were walking on with his own hands in awe.
It really did feel like you were walking on a cloud.
The second installation wasn’t as interactive as the first two. It consisted of multiple pop-art paintings hanged around the room, and Hyunjin was more than eager to explain some of them to Felix. You, however, made your way around the room quickly, and with a quick thumbs up from the boys to show that it was okay, you advanced to the next room by yourself.
This one truly stumped you. You weren’t sure what it was, no matter how long you looked at it. It was a large pane of glass that nearly split the room in two, and splatters of paint littered across the glass. There were lots of dark blue and green peeking out in spots, but most of the glass was covered in bright red splatters, like someone had launched buckets of paint right at it.
You must have spent a long time staring at the art piece trying to understand because Hyunjin and Felix caught up to you, Hyunjin wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
“It’s kind of sad, isn’t it,” he murmured.
You blinked. “I don’t get it.”
He pointed out the green and blue splotches on the edge. “It’s supposed to be the earth. The blue and green is the planet, and the red represents … well, I guess you could take it literally as blood covering the earth. But I think it does a good job of representing violence, pain, anger, evil. Its pretty open to interpretation.”
“Oh,” you said, nodding in understanding. “Huh, I never would have thought of that.”
Felix rolled his eyes. “He’s just reading the information packet we were handed at the entrance.”
“You mean the one I stuffed in my bag and haven’t looked at since we got here?” You said sheepishly, reaching for the now crumbled paper.
Hyunjin laughed.
Felix began to wander off towards the other side of the room, but Hyunjin stayed with you as you started to read through the packet, learning about the artists of each piece and the meaning behind them. Hyunjin wrapped his arms around your waist and rested his chin against your shoulder, slowly rocking the two of you side to side.
You giggled. “I can’t read if you keep moving me.”
“You don’t need that anyways. I’ll explain everything to you,” he assured you.
“I’m sure you’ll do a better job anyways,” You said, giving up and deciding you’ll finish the packet back at home. “I love the way you explain things. I love the way you see things.”
“I just appreciate all the little things, the beauty in life. It makes all the big things that much more meaningful.”
“Like what?”
He pressed his mask up against your cheek in leu of a kiss, and you leaned back into his embrace. “Like you.”
“You’re such a romantic.”
“Hmm.”
The two of you stood there for another minute, softly rocking back and forth. You closed your eyes and let his warmth wash over you, the feel of his skin on yours, his chest expanding and retracting as he breathed, his soft humming in your ear.
You smiled. “You mean the world to me.”
He just held you tighter in response.

You had once again managed to wander ahead of the boys. You decided to wait for them in a quitter section, sitting down on a bench and scrolling through your phone as you waited. A family walked through, their chatter filling the small room, but they eventually moved on, and you took a second to observe the painting in front of you.
It was pretty, not as colorful as some of the other pieces you had seen today, but you imagined it had some deeper meaning you didn’t quite get.
A guy a little bit older than you sits down on the bench next to you, and you quickly move you bag closer to your body, scooting to the side with a small nod. The two of you sit in silence, looking at the painting, before he suddenly speaks up.
“It’s amazingly intricate, isn’t it,” he says, voice deep.
“Oh, I guess,” You murmur.
He tilts his head, still staring at the painting. “I’m in awe of the technique. Don’t think I could replicate something that beautiful even if I tried.”
You hummed in agreement.
There was a moment of silence, and then he spoke up again, this time turning to look at you fully. “What do you think about it?”
“Oh, I’m not much of an art person,” You explained. “I’m actually just waiting for someone.”
The man narrows his eyes, nods his head for a few seconds, and then shoots you a blinding smile. “Are you a foreigner?”
You hesitate. “Yes?”
“Your Korean is very good.”
“Oh, thank you.”
“You know, foreigners usually learn a lot from sleeping with Korean men.”
He said the words so nonchalantly, so bluntly, that it took you of guard for a second. You couldn’t even find yourself getting angry or scandalized, because you were just so in shock that someone would even say something like that out loud. It was only then that you acknowledged how uncomfortable he was making you.
You grimaced, standing up. “Right. I think I’m just going to-“
“Yah, leaving so soon?” He says, grabbing your arm as you try to pass by.
The room was empty. There was nobody around, and there was a strange man grabbing you, and it took everything you had not scream. Maybe you should scream. Should you scream? Should you hit him? You began to panic, not sure what to do.
His grip tightened. “Hey, there’s no need to be afraid. I just want to talk.”
“Let go of me.”
You tried to sound authoritative, but you voice wavered. Your heart was pounding in your chest, and it felt like someone was squeezing it. You try to pull your arm away, but the sudden recoil of the action only has you falling towards the man. The second his other hand touches your hip, you jolt past your hesitation and slam straight into outrage.
“Let go of me!” You yell, pushing against his chest with all your might.
The action forces him to let go, and you stumble back. You’re tempted to run, and for a split second you almost do, but then the loud laugh of a kid gains the attention of the man.
Two kids run into the room, followed by a very anxious mother trying to get them to quiet down. The woman and kids seem to be part of a group, and the small room slowly starts to fill with people. You turn around to look for the man, but he’s already gone.
The kids laugh loudly again.
You rush towards the bathroom as you feel your eyes starting to sting with tears, anger making your body feel hot and fuzzy. It wasn’t until you were in the empty room that you realized your bag was vibrating. You pull out your phone, eyes widening at the 4 missed calls and dozen texts Chan had sent you. Before you can read any of them, he’s calling again.
“Are you okay?” Is the first thing he says the moment you answer.
“I’m okay,” You say instinctively, but then you pause. “I … actually, I don’t know if I am okay.”
“What happened. Where are you?”
“I’m still at the museum, I’m fine … physically. It’s- there was a guy, he said something gross, and he grabbed me. He’s gone now, but it just kind of freaked me out.”
You looked down to your arm, which felt strangely cold from the man’s touch. You felt slimy just thinking about his hands on you.
“Where are the boys?” Chan questioned, and you put him on speaker so you could wash your hands.
“I don’t know. I was waiting for them, and this creep just walked up to me.” You took a deep breath. “I think I’m okay. I just need a minute.”
“Take as long as you need sweetheart.”
You scrubbed your arm with soap in hopes of elevating the disgust, but the harder you scrubbed the more your skin began to sting, so you gave up. You dried off and took a second to just stare at the mirror. The anger was still there, so was the fear, but mostly you just felt tired. You shook your head, picking your phone back up.
“I think I’m good. I’m really sorry I freaked you out,” you told Chan.
“Don’t ever apologize for something that isn’t your fault.” He let out a sigh. “Are you sure the guy is gone?”
You peeked your head out of the bathroom. “Yeah, I don’t see him. I think he got spooked by the other people who showed up.”
Chan swore on the other end, in both Korean and English. “Do you think you can find Hyunjin or Felix?”
“Yeah, I’ll look for them. I’m sorry you had to feel that. I’m sure you’re busy.” You wandered back to the room you had just been in, but there was no sign of the boys. “I can call you back later.”
“I mean absolutely no offense to you sweetheart, but you must be out of your goddamn mind if you think I’m hanging up right now.”
You let out a small laugh. “Fair enough.”
It was comforting, knowing Chan was on the phone as you made your way around the museum. Even though you were sure you weren’t in any real danger, and the rooms you walked through were full of people, you knew deep down that you wouldn’t have felt as safe as you did now if Chan wasn’t there, even if it was just him breathing on the other end.
You finally spotted Hyunjin first, letting out a sigh of relief. “I found them.”
Hyunjin looked up with a smile as you ran up to him, but his smile quickly dropped when he saw your face. “Are you okay?”
“Let me talk to him,” Chan said, and you quickly handed over the phone.
Felix wandered over when he spotted the two of you. He noticed the tense atmosphere between the two of you, and he placed a hand on your arm in worry as Hyunjin’s face began to pull down in worry and anger.
“What’s going on?”
You licked your lips and took a deep breath. “Some guy grabbed me, I freaked out. Chan felt it.”
“Wait, some guy grabbed you?” Felix dropped his hand and looked you over in worry. He gently lifted your arm in shock, and you realized that there was a small red mark from where you had been grabbed. “Oh my god, are you okay?”
“It’s fine, I’m just pissed he got away.”
“I’m going to kill him,” Hyunjin said, and he quickly said something in Korean so fast you couldn’t even begin to understand. “Hyung, I’m calling the cops.”
“The hell you are,” you exclaimed, grabbing the phone out of his hand. “Are you insane?”
“This guy hurt you,” Hyunjin argued.
“That guy is a creep, I won’t argue with you on that, but he didn’t hurt me. He grabbed my arm a little tight, but I’ve been hurt worse by walking into a table.”
“He put his hands on you.” Felix said.
“And what do you plan on doing? Looking for him? Yelling at him? You don’t even know if he’s still here!”
“I’ll have the museum security find out who he is. I’ll track him down myself if I have to,” Hyunjin said.
“Right sure, I can see the headlines now. Stray Kids Hyunjin arrested for attacking a man who was a creep to his soulmate.” You smacked his shoulder. “What happened to keeping a low profile?”
Felix grabbed your hand. “Baby, this guy should have never touched you. What he did was not okay-“
“I know. Believe me, I know.” You interrupted. “But he’s gone now. And I’m not going to let you guys expose yourselves just to … defend my honor. He didn’t do anything that would warrant more than a slap on the wrist. It’s not worth it.”
You could tell neither one was satisfied, but something on your face must have convinced them, because they quickly conceded. You only then remembered you were still on a call with Chan, and you quickly brought the phone back up to your face and asked if he was still there.
“I’m still here,” Chan said softly.
“You get all that?”
He sighed. “Yeah.”
“I’m hanging up on you now.”
“Please, be safe.”
You smiled. “I will.”
The words ‘I love you’ burned on the tip of your tongue, begging to be released, but you swallowed them down.
It didn’t feel right.
Not yet.

Even though you tried to encourage the boys to finish the exhibit, they unanimously agreed to cut the date short, and you were secretly relieved. You held Hyunjin’s hand tight as you walked past the security guards, knowing he would be tempted despite your agreement, and managed to make your way out into the warm afternoon sun without any issues.
You were relieved that the boys hadn’t been recognized yet.
“You want to go home?” Felix asked, and you thought about it for a second.
Now that you were out of the museum and breathing in fresh air, the idea of cutting the date short and ending it on such a bitter ending felt wrong. You shook your head.
“What do you want to do?” He asked.
You pursed your lips. “Are there any parks nearby?”
“Hmm, there’s one two blocks away,” Hyunjin said, already looking up the directions on his phone. Then he tilted his head. “If you’re willing to walk a little further, we’re not that far from the Han river.”
“Oh! I’ve always wanted to go to the Han river!”
“Then lets go,” Felix said, eyes crinkling.
You walked in between the two, holding hands with both of them and swinging them back and forth. You felt carefree, a nice change from the exhaustion you had felt earlier, and the wind blowing through your hair swept away all your worries. Even so, you could tell neither boy was completely over what had happened.
You pulled your hands together, forcing them to hold each other’s hands as you moved behind them, giving them a big smile. “You two look good together.”
Hyunjin snorted, wrapping his arm around Felix. “Maybe I’ll steal him all for myself.”
Not one to be outdone, Felix grabbed Hyunjin by the back of the neck. “Who says I won’t come willingly?”
Hyunjin jolted back at that, and the two of them started laughing. You raised an eyebrow, noticing the way their eyes darted to each other and then back to you. You patted Felix on the shoulder as you moved past them, skipping to the corner of the street.
“Come on lover boys. You two can flirt with each other later.”
The three of you continued your walk with less tension than before, the events of the museum only a blip of an otherwise nice day.
Well, relatively nice.
It was hot out, as summer was starting to get closer. The sun was shining bright, and by the time you guys found a nice spot near the river and under the shade, you were sweating. While it wasn’t unbearingly hot, Hyunjin’s offer to get ice cream was a blessing.
He told you he would back quickly, smooching your cheek messily as he left.
Felix decided to wait with you as the other dancer left, leaning back on his elbows and closing his eyes to enjoy the cool breeze. There were kids playing and laughing, couples walking at the riverside, and even dogs running in the grass. It was peaceful.
“I hate it, you know,” Felix said.
You tilted your head in confusion. “What?”
“Having to hide this.” He opened his eyes to look at you. “Not being able to be with you so publicly.”
You eyed his mask still on his face, pulled down only slightly below his nose. Any normal person would have taken it off by now, but even though Hyunjin had led you two towards a fairly secluded area, it was still too risky for his face to be seen in public.
Or rather, it was too risky for him to be seen in public with you.
You looked down. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not your fault,” Felix was quick to reassure you. “It’s what I signed up for when I decided to become an Idol.”
“You still deserve your privacy,” You muttered.
“Would you have done something if we weren’t idols?”
You didn’t have to ask him what he was talking about.
It was silent for a second, wind blowing through the trees above you. Leaves and flowers began to fall around the two of you, littering the grass between you. You grabbed a flower, twirling it around your fingers as you contemplated Felix’s words.
“Maybe.” At the way his face fell, you shifted closer. “Hey, I’m not saying that your idol status was the only reason I didn’t want to get the authorities involved. Like I said before, I doubt they would have been able to do anything more than chastise the guy anyways.”
Felix sighed. “It still doesn’t seem right.”
“It isn’t. But I’m okay, really.”
You reached over to hold his hand, and he gave it a tight squeeze. When he turned his head to look at you, you were already looking at him, the wind blowing hair around and blocking your view for a second. Felix’s eyes shifted to the side, and you turned to see what he was looking at, but you didn’t see anything. You turned back in time to see him pulling his mask down.
His lips were on yours for only a split second, but it was enough to make your face heat up. Felix pressed his forehead to yours, whispering against your lips.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
You smiled, letting your lips press together again. “With you? Always.”
He didn’t say anything else after that. Hyunjin didn’t mention your close proximity when he returned, simply handing over your ice cream with soft eyes.
“Careful, it’s starting to melt,” he warned you, but it was too late. A glob of ice cream had slid off the cone and hit your fingers.
He gratefully handed you a napkin afterwards, and you laughed when his own ice cream began to melt onto his hand as well. Felix accepted his own ice cream more carefully, managing to keep his hands clean.
Without thinking too much about it, you licked the ice cream that had fallen onto your fingers before wiping the area with the napkin. You then licked around the cone edge to catch the melting ice cream drops and avoid more of a mess, finishing off with a proper taste of your actual ice cream cone. You looked up to catch both boys watching you with familiar looks.
You snapped your fingers at them, instinctively speaking in english. “Hey, mind out of the gutter. I don’t put out on the first date.”
Felix laughed at your statement, replying in korean. “Damn, there go my plans for the night.”
“Wait, what did you she say?”
The two of you laughed at the confused look on Hyunjin’s face.
Yeah. You were okay.
-0-0-
“Walking me to my door, like proper gentleman,” You teased.
Hyunjin grinned, slipping the ball cap he had used out on the streets and running his hands through his hair. “Maybe we’re just hoping for the end of the date kiss.”
“So I’ve been told,” You said, giving Felix a side eye. “You seem awfully sure of yourself.”
You turned to open your door, planning on teasing them a little bit more, but Hyunjin pressed himself up against you, leaning on his arms resting above you. You turned back to face him properly, flicking his nose.
“Did you need something?”
He puckered his lips in response, and you laughed. You conceded, reaching up to wrap your arms around his neck and pull him down for a kiss. His own hands dropped down to your waist, his touch warm and comforting as he kissed you softly and slowly. When he pulled away, you were surprised to see him looking almost sad, and you watched his eyes flicker down to your arm where the man had grabbed you.
While it wasn’t noticeable to anyone who didn’t know better, the skin was red and irritated. There was a chance it might bruise slightly.
You tucked your finger under Hyunjin’s chin and lifted his face so you could look into his eyes. “Hey, forget about it. Forget about him.”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there,” he said.
“It wasn’t your fault,” You assured him. “Don’t let the actions of one horrible man ruin our perfect date.”
“Perfect, huh?”
“Ahh, don’t let it go to your head,” You droned, pressing another kiss to his lips.
To both of your surprise, the moment Hyunjin pulled away Felix was there, pushing you back against the door and kissing you so hard it made you see stars. He practically devoured you, your breath stolen and lips tingling when he finally pulled away. His eyes were dilated, mouth red and slick with saliva that he licked away, cupping your cheeks in his hands.
“Will you be my girlfriend?” He asked you, and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“What happened to taking it slow?”
“Screw slow.”
Later that night, as you were getting ready for bed, Hyunjin sent a message to the group chat. It was a picture of you and Felix kissing at your front door, and he sent another message after.
‘Nothing in that museum compares to seeing these two together. This is real art.’

Changbin - Initials
Tumblr media
In Your Past - Chapter 4
Stray Kids OT8 x reader, Soulmate AU
Living in a world where soulmates are real, and everyone deals with it differently. Prequel to 'Pieces of My Heart'; how each member dealt with their soul marks, and first meetings.
Masterlist | Pieces Of My Heart
Changbin was a hopeless romantic.
He spent most of his childhood watching his parents be madly in love, both of them with their names on each other’s wrists. He was told from a very young age that someday he would meet his soulmate, and that they would be made for him. He would be happy, just like his parents. He dreamed of that meeting for years.
He was an ‘early bird’ for most of the soulmate community. Most people developed their soulmark by 18, but there were a few who were born with them, and even fewer who gained their marks before 18 but after birth. Changbin was one of those people.
At only 13 years old, he woke up one morning to find initials tattooed right below his left breast. He had stared at them for a solid minute in the bathroom mirror before he finally reacted, yelling so loudly that his parents came running. His mom was ecstatic, and he couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of the day. He was so excited that he happily relayed the news to all his friends in school, although he was a bit embarrassed when everyone asked to see it. After all, it wasn’t everyday someone got their soulmark early.
The hype died down pretty easily.
While the rest of the kids seemed to stop caring by the end of the week, Changbin still couldn’t stop the buzzing feeling that ran under his skin. Maybe that’s why he was so quick to believe the girl who claimed to be his soulmate.
At 13, a young girl who claimed she had been born seeing in black and white excitedly ran up to him. He recognized the girl from one of his classes, and when she claimed that she was his soulmate, he didn’t even stop to think if he had ever met eyes with her before. He didn’t stop to wonder about the coincidences of this happening just a week after he got his own soulmark or think about how easily he had shared his soulmark information with everyone at school.
All he could think of was that the moment he had been dreaming of for years was finally happening.
The worst part was that he fell for it so easily. She wasn’t everything he had thought a soulmate should be, but she was nice, and pretty, and made him happy.
They were together for 2 years.
2 years before she broke his heart, breaking up with him after she had met her real soulmate, and admitted that she wasn’t his soulmate. Admitted that she lied about it because she had a massive crush on him and realized that her initials matched up with his soulmates, so she lied to get him to date her. And now that she had met her real soulmate, she realized that she didn’t need him anymore. She didn’t want him anymore.
Why would she? She had a soulmate.
And Changbin should have had the same mindset. Why should he care about that one girl who lied to him, when out there, was someone meant for him, someone who would make him happy.
But he had been happy. He wasn’t sure if what he had felt was love, but he had spent 2 years with someone he thought he would spend the rest of his life with, and suddenly he had to accept that it was all a lie. He felt cheated. He felt betrayed.
He did what he did best.
Changbin began to write down all those feelings on paper, and discovered he was actually really good at it. He took every dark and sad aspect of his life and made it into something to lift others, and then he was auditioning for JYP. Before he knew it, Chan and Han saw his potential, and 3RACHA was formed. It wasn’t enough for him to forget the heartache he had experienced, but it was enough for him to move on from the experience.
It was when their maknae shared the news that he had met his soulmate that suddenly all those feelings came back like a sledgehammer to the gut.
He tried to be excited. But this was Jeongin, their baby, someone he needed to protect. The last thing he needed was for their maknae to go through the same horrible experience he had gone through. He forced a smile on his face to keep everyone else happy, but deep down he felt himself scrutinizing Jeongins ‘soulmate’.
He pulled them into a hug too tight, but other than a squeak of surprise, they made no protest. He said something crude in Korean, but they made no indication that they understood him, which meant at least they weren’t lying about not knowing Korean. He observed how they treated the other members with sharp eyes, making sure that they wouldn’t say or do anything mean.
He never expected them to be Felix’s soulmate. His skepticism grew and fell at the same time.
But as the realization that they were actually all of their soulmates, he found it harder and harder to pretend it was all a scam. He was cautious, but he felt something blooming in his chest again.
Hope.
Pretending to be one person’s soulmate was easy, but to fake 8 soulmarks? Their initials only sealed the deal for him. It wasn’t until the next morning, when he found out that Minho had spent the night with his soulmate, or when Han complained about Hyunjin getting handsy in the car, or even when he caught Han and his soulmate making out in the waiting room, that he finally decided to throw all caution to the wind.
He wasn’t going to let one heartache ruin his future.
After all, he was a hopeless romantic.

Date Day Pt. 1
Tumblr media
Pieces of My Heart - Chapter 16 Stray Kids OT8 x reader, Soulmate AU
Masterlist | Next Part
From the moment you woke up, you felt the need to pee. Your efforts of vacating the bed to make it to the bathroom was made a little complicated by the two sets of arms wrapped around you (and in the case of Jisung, the body currently resting half on top of you), but you managed to make your way out of it by rolling Jisung off of you and in the middle of the small cuddle puddle taking place.
Chan was forced to dislodge his grip on you, but Jisung immediately took advantage of the sudden lack of warmth to latch onto the leader with a soft whine. Chan only cracked open an eye to take stock of the situation, and you gave him a quick thumbs up before running out of the room.
After peeing, you came back to find both guys still asleep and cuddled together. You weren’t tired enough to go back to sleep, so you decided to let them be. You grabbed your phone and made your way out into the living room. You scrolled through your phone for a bit, checking messages and emails and sending a quick message to your parents, only to find out they were still awake.
You decided to call them before they went to bed.
“Hi sweetheart,” Your mom said when she answered.
Your dad peeked his head from the corner of the screen. “Hey, about time you called.”
You pouted. “I’ve been busy!”
“Too busy with those soulmates of yours to say hi to your own father?”
“Daaaad.”
Your mom let out a laugh, pushing away your dad so she was the only one on screen. “Ignore him. He’s just missing you.”
“I miss you guys too,” You told her, and she gave you a soft smile in return.
The two of you chatted, getting caught up on anything new that had happened since you left, which wasn’t much but still made you feel like you had never left at all. It was a comfort to know that the distance wasn’t going to change anything.
It was almost half an hour later that you finally hung up, letting the sudden deafening silence of the dorms wash over you with a sigh. You closed your eyes and leaned back onto the couch, and you must have dozed off because you suddenly jolted awake at the feeling of hands on your cheeks.
“You’re going to hurt your neck if you sleep like this,” Changbin warned you, tilting your head forward.
True to his words, you felt an ache in your neck, and you let out a groan. He allowed you to rest your forehead against his chest as he softly rubbed the muscles in your neck and shoulders, and you were tempted to doze back to sleep at his touch, but there was a soft shuffling sound from the hallway, and you pulled away to see who it was.
Hyunjin looked like he was still half asleep, and you were surprised he was even awake before noon. He practically threw himself onto the couch next to you, immediately pulling you away from Changbin to use you as a pillow. Changbin snorted in amusement.
“What are you doing awake so early?” He wondered, moving out of his squat to stretch his legs.
Hyunjin swiped his hand across your arm and watched through half lidded eyes as it left a trail of inky black that began to quickly fade. “I need time to get ready for our date.”
“The museum doesn’t open until 11,” You pointed out, reaching for your phone. “You have … 4 hours until then.”
“Trust me, he might need more,” Changbin teased.
Hyunjin threw one of the couch pillows at him, but when the rapper dodged, he was left with nothing else to retaliate with, so he quickly gave up. Changbin snickered, making his way towards the kitchen.
You ran your fingers through Hyunjin’s hair for the next few minutes, feeling the dancer slowly relax against you, and while you were tempted to allow him to fall back asleep (really, who needed 4 hours to get ready?), you knew that he would have never woken up this early without reason.
You poked his cheek softly. “Hyunnie.”
“Hmm?”
“C’mon. I thought you wanted to get ready.”
“Mmmm.”
“Want me to make you some coffee?”
At the mention of coffee, Hyunjin seemed to perk up, rising up from his half-slumped state to give you a wide eyed but still slightly glazed look. “Coffee?”
“Way ahead of you,” Changbin said.
He walked out of the kitchen with two cups of coffee. One of them he handed over to the now very much awake blond next to you, and the other he carefully handed to you to make sure it didn’t spill. You gave him a smile, and he allowed you to pull him close enough to press a kiss to his lips in thanks.
When you eventually drifted back towards Chan’s bedroom, you found the leader gone and Jisung hugging a pillow, still completely asleep. You sat down next to him and carted your fingers through his hair, swiping the back of your hand down his cheek, and when he still didn’t stir, you poked him. Nothing. It was only when you whispered his name that Jisung began to stir, blinking slowly as he woke up.
“Wha-?”
“It’s time to get up.”
“Noooo,” Jisung whined, rolling over.
You giggled. “No? What do you mean no?”
“It’s too early!”
“Hmm, maybe you just need some incentive,” You teased, wiggling your fingers menacingly towards his sides.
At the threat of being tickled, Jisung flinched back. You only tickled him for a second as he squirmed before you pulled back, and when youu started to laugh at him, Jisung used the opportunity to roll on top of you, fingers now pressed up against your own sides.
You squealed in warning, trying to throw him off, but Jisung was deceptively strong, his weight pressing down on your stomach and preventing you from pushing him off. Instead, you tried to swat his hands away from your body, but he just grabbed your wrists and pinned them to the bed.
“Not so fun when it’s you, huh?”
You let out another yelp as he managed to hold both of your arms down with one hand, and started to tickle. You let out a yell for help in between laughs, but Jisung pressed his lips against yours to silence you. You snorted so hard that it hurt your throat, and he pulled away with a laugh of his own.
“Chan! Chan, help!”
“Chan won’t be able to help you now,” Jisung teased.
You gasped. “Chan?! No honorifics?!”
“I’m not scared of him.”
“Scared of who?”
Chan walked in with messy hair and a confused look on his face. No longer tickling you, you were sure the two of you made quite the sight, Jisung still on top of you and your faces inches apart, but he didn’t seem bothered at the sight. Or maybe he wasn’t worried about interrupting, since all you could feel was amusement, fondness, and glee that he could no doubt identify himself.
Jisung froze at the sight of his Hyung, and you let a smirk slowly grow across your face. “Hey Channie. Want to hear something really funny?”
“Nope!”
Jisung threw himself off you and ran out of the room before you could snitch on him, and you let out another giggle as his once tough bravo disappeared so easily. Chan, still confused, walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed.
“Did you call for me earlier?”
“Ah, don’t worry about it.”
“Hmm.”
He motioned for you to move over, and he laid down next to you with a sigh. You lay on your side, and Chan turned his head so that he could look at you, one brow raising in amusement. “Can I help you?”
“You’re pretty when you wake up,” You murmured, reaching out to flatten part of his hair that was sticking up. “Messy, but cute.”
“You’re cuter,” He corrected, and he turned his face away so you couldn’t see his face, but you had a feeling he was blushing. “You’re going with Hyunjin and Felix to the museum today, right?”
“Yup. We don’t have to leave for a while though, we can have breakfast together.”
“Sure. I’m planning on heading to the studio today.”
“Never a day off in your life, is there?”
Chan rolled over so that you were now facing each other, and he placed his hand against your cheek. “You ever want to spend a day off with me, all you have to do is ask, sweetheart.”
“Charmer,” You drawled, pressing a kiss to his palm. You then pushed his hand away so you could sit up, stretching your arms above your head.
“Guess we should get up.”
“Yeah. You want to take a shower first?”
“Nah, you go first. I’m going to get started on breakfast.”
“Okay.”
Chan watched you with fond eyes as you leaned in close to press a kiss to his lips, and you found yourself lingering a little longer than you should have. What was supposed to be a quick peck ended up turning into a full-blown make-out session, your hands holding you up as you hovered above him, lips moving softly against one another while his own palms burned against your hips, thumbs rubbing circles against your skin. You only managed to force yourself away when his phone began to buzz.
He chased your lips and you let out a laugh. “You should answer that.”
“Hmm, I really should.”
One last kiss, this time for real, and you were out the bedroom door before you could convince yourself to skip breakfast and spend the morning in bed with Chan. Jisung nearly bumped into you as you passed by the bathroom, his hair wet from his freshly finished shower, and you steadied him as you walked past, preventing yourself from getting distracted again.
By the time you managed to scrap something together for breakfast, all 4 of the boys had gotten ready and joined you at the table, although Hyunjin remained in his overly expensive looking pajamas, claiming he didn’t want to ruin the ‘surprise’ of his date outfit.
The effort was nice, but it was a bit ruined when Felix showed up shortly after you all finished, looking like he had just finished a photoshoot. While his outfit was fairly casual, a soft blue sweater vest over a long-sleeved white button down that was tucked into his jeans, he somehow managed to make it look elegant.
If your mouth was left hanging for longer than socially acceptable when you opened the door, he didn’t mention it, although the way he smirked let you know he was more than aware.
“You’re early,” You finally mentioned, accepting his hug after you finished ogling him.
“I had something I wanted to talk to Chan about,” He said, glancing over his shoulder. “Speak of the devil.”
Chan gave Felix a once over as he joined the two of you at the entrance. “I want her back by 10,” He joked, and you rolled your eyes at the two of them.
“Yes, sir,” Felix said, playing along.
“Oh my god, you two.” You held back a laugh. The two Aussies shared a laugh of their own, and you pushed past them to the door. “Okay, that’s my cue to leave.”
“Hey, me and Jinnie will pick you up in an hour,” Felix reminded you.
“I know this is supposed to be a date, but you don’t actually have to pick me up at my front door you know.”
“Aww, does this mean I won’t get my end of the date kiss?” He teased.
“Well, if a kiss is what you’re aiming for, I’m afraid you’ve been beaten by, like, half of the members,” You said, giving Chan a side eye.
Felix gasped in fake shock. “They kissed you without dinner first? How scandalous.”
Now it was Chan’s turn to roll his eyes, and you took the cue to leave the boys to whatever it was they needed to deal with. You gave Felix a quick kiss on the cheek before you left.
“One hour.”
You smiled. “See you then.”

When you decided to take a nap on the couch in the studio, you weren’t surprised to wake up with Jisung resting on top of you. It was almost expected that if you hung out in the studio long enough, someone would end up needing a quick break, and the couch was the perfect place to cuddle up with one of your soulmates. You were almost tempted to go back to sleep, wrapping your arms around the rapper and letting his warmth seep into your skin.
Chan and Changbin were there too, talking softly to each other about one of the tracks they were working on. You let their voices lure you into a peaceful calm. Jisung shifted above you, letting out a small sigh, and you let your hand drag up his back and slip into his hair, softly scratching his scalp. He let out a groan, shifting his body against yours until his cheek was pressed up against your shoulder, exhale warming your collarbones.
You moved your face so you could press a kiss to his forehead, and his eyes fluttered open.
“Hmm?”
“Hi baby,” You cooed.
Your hand drifted down from his hair and to his back, rubbing small circles in between his shoulder blades. Jisung let out a stretch, his own arms pulling you closer to him. His hips shifted, pressing up against your thigh and letting you feel his morning wood. You let out a laugh as he realized at the same time that you did.
“Shut up,” he mumbled, his mouth moving to press a kiss of his own to your skin. “You’re comfy.”
“Hey, I’m not judging you. I’m flattered.”
His hands moved from your waist to press against your stomach, hand slipping under your shirt. You let out a sigh as he moved his hands softly against your skin, the warmth from his hands chasing the chills the cold studio. Changbin glanced back at the two of you.
“Well don’t you two look comfy,” He said, giving you a wink.
“It’s distracting,” Chan said, eyes still glued to his monitor. “It was cuter when you were asleep.”
“He’s just jealous,” Jisung whispered to you, his hand moving higher so he could brush his thumb against the underside of your breast. “Too busy working, never giving our girl the attention she needs.”
“Jisung.”
Chan’s voice was laced with a warning, one you had heard before. Because of your unique situation, being able to feel a sudden rush of emotions from you proved to be very distracting for him if left unchecked. Chan would never limit the others from being with you, but it was an unspoken rule that if he was doing something important, you were practically off limits. No fooling around when Chan was in a meeting, usually.
When working in the studio, Jisung followed the unspoken rules pretty well. Soft cuddles were fine, laid out on the couch with someone, or sometimes dozing on someone’s lap while they worked through a particular track. It also worked wonders on getting Chan to bed when it was late, refusing to go to bed until he did and letting the combined weight of his tiredness with your own mix together into an exhaustion even Chan couldn’t ignore.
And it helped that he had someone to wrap his arms around at night.
So normally Chan’s warning would send a clear message.
‘Not now, knock it off’.
And normally Jisung would listen. He loved to push his limits, but he respected Chan’s decisions and his work, knowing it was important. You weren’t sure what was different this time. Maybe it was because the three had been working late the past week, or the fact that the particular track they were currently working on was for a comeback that would potentially take months to come about, maybe even a year. They had time, and it wasn’t important.
Maybe Jisung had noticed what you had, the lingering frustration that Chan had been holding back. The tension in his shoulders, the stress of a bigger issue he was having a hard time communicating. Maybe he realized that the eldest member needed a break, but wasn’t willing to take one.
Either way, Jisung didn’t stop.
He lifted his head momentarily, meeting your eyes and giving you a questioning look. You bit your lip, eyes darting to Chan’s tense figure sitting across the room. Changbin had turned back around and wasn’t paying attention to either of you anymore. You turned your gaze back to Jisung and gave him a small nod.
He grinned.
His hand pulled back and he moved so that he was hovering over you, hands on either side of your face, and he pressed a quick kiss to your lips. “Maybe you and I should get out of here, leave these old men by themselves and go have some fun.”
Changbin spun around at that, giving you two a shocked look. “Excuse me?”
Jisung hid his smile. “Ahh, maybe not?”
“Don’t be so mean,” You played along. “Who knows, maybe they’d want to watch.”
“Yah, you two cut it out. We’re working,” Changbin complained, but the way he shifted in his seat betrayed just how much your words affected him.
“Hmm, you’re right. I guess we should give them a show then, huh?” Jisung said, pressing his hips against yours. You bit your lip to keep from moaning out.
Changbin was watching you two closely now, leaning back against his chair and pressing a finger to his lips in thought. His eyes glanced over to Chan next to him, and you followed his look. The Australian was tense, still staring at his screen as if he hadn’t heard anything that was said, but you knew that even if that was true, there was no way he wasn’t aware of what was going on. The heat that was building under your skin and the ache between your legs would have clued him in immediately.
But he didn’t say anything, didn’t even seem to be breathing as Jisung continued the slow roll of his hips against yours, muffling your moans with his heated kisses. His lips drifted down your neck, so you pressed your own hand against your mouth to prevent any noises from escaping. You were still in the JYP building, still in a public location where anybody could hear you, even though you were sure these rooms had a least some soundproofing to them.
You weren’t willing to risk it.
Changbin was staring at the two of you with hooded eyes, his arms gripping the arm rests of his chair with a tight grip. He swallowed harshly, eyes darting over to Chan as if he was unsure whether or not he should be stopping you two, even though it seemed like he didn’t want to. He must have seen something on his leader’s face because he suddenly straightened up, wide eyes meeting yours. Jisung, oblivious to what was going on, pulling back so he was kneeling on the couch, his hands pulling you up with him.
And in one swift movement, he was pulling your shirt over your head and throwing the fabric towards the desk, your shirt landing right in between both producers.
Everything was silent for a split second before the squeak of a chair rang out, Chan suddenly standing up so quickly that his chair toppled over behind him. He took of his earphones and placed them down on the desk softer than you would have expected given the way his shoulders hunched together.
He marched towards the door.
For a moment, you shared a panicked look with Jisung as Chan passed by the two of you, wondering if you had finally gone too far, pushing the leader past his breaking point.
But he stopped in front of the studio door, and instead of storming out like you were expecting, he took a deep breath. And then he locked the door.
“You want a show, Jisung. I’ll give you a show.”
You all watched with baited breaths as Chan walked towards the couch, his hand grabbing the back of Jisung’s neck with a tight grip, his other hand pushing against his chest. Jisung toppled back onto the couch from where he had been kneeling, and Chan tapped his nose.
“Don’t move.”
He turned to you then, standing next to you on the couch and meeting your wide eyed gaze with a heated look. You knew that Chan could be incredibly gentle, passionate, and patient in bed.
But the last time he had looked at you like that, you didn’t walk for a week.
His fingers curled around the front of your bra, pulling you up with a sharp tug and slipping the fabric up until your breasts were exposed. The moment you were on your feet, he moved behind you and with a quick movement, had unhooked your bra and thrown the fabric blindly in the same direction as your shirt. He gently massaged your shoulders, lips pressing to the shell of your ear.
“Take your pants off, sweetheart.”
And then he was moving back to the desk without checking to see if you would follow his instruction, your back suddenly exposed to the cold air. He picked his chair back up, spinning it around so it was facing the couch, and sitting down with his legs spread. You felt your body flush under the stares of the three men, but you did as you were told, slowly sliding your bottom off and leaving yourself exposed.
Chan’s voice was deep and laced with lust as he spoke. “Here’s what’s going to happen. Changbin is going to have some fun with our girl, and you’re going to watch. When he’s done, I’m going to have my turn, and you’re going to watch. And while both of us have our fun, you’re going to sit right there at the end of the couch, and you’re not going to say anything. You’re not going to touch yourself. And if you’re good, and you follow the rules, then maybe I’ll let you have a turn when we’re done.”
Jisung let out a whine, head hitting the back of the couch. “Fuck.”
“Do you understand?”
“Hyung-“
“Do you understand?” Chan’s voice didn’t leave any room for argument. Jisung nodded, his hands tightening to fists.
“Yes.”
“Changbin.”
At Chan’s words, you pressed your thighs together in need. All it took was one look from the eldest rapper and you were stumbling forward, letting him pull you down onto his lap once you were close enough. You kissed him softly, and he smiled against your lips when you reached for the band of his sweatpants, grabbing your wrist in his hands. You leaned back with a pout.
“Don’t tease me,” You whined.
“You’re not getting out of this, jagi. You called me old.”
“Jisung called you old! I told him not to be mean.”
“Ah, I guess that is true,” Changbin reached in between your bodies, swiping his fingers through your folds. “You’ve been a good girl, right?”
“Always,” You breathed out, hands flexing against his grip. You wanted nothing more than to touch him, but you knew that he wouldn’t let you until he was ready.
You shifted your hips so that his touch moved higher up your sex, brushing up against your clit. He clicked his tongue, and let your hands go so he could use his free hand to push your thighs wider apart. He then pressed two fingers against your opening, and with a soft whine, he pushed into your warmth.
“Fuck, Binnie.”
“Shhh, I got you.”
His fingers moved slowly back in forth, and with your now free hands you gripped Changbin’s shoulders to gain more momentum, fucking yourself on his fingers as he watched you with hooded eyes. He inserted another finger, and the pressure combined with the constant movement made you reach your high quickly.
Changbin slowed down his fingers. When you finally got your breathing under control, he stopped completely. He kept eye contact with you as he pulled out, smirking at the whine you let out before reaching up to lick his fingers.
“So needy,” He hummed.
He motioned for you to stand back up, giving him just enough space to pull his cock out before he was pulling you back into his lap, pressing a heated kiss to your lips and then your neck. You found yourself quickly riled up again, grinding down against his member. Changbin groaned, lifting you up so he could reach his hand in between you two, gribbing his length in between his hands. He lined you up against his tip, swiping it through your folds before he pressed into your entrance.
You slid down slowly, head falling back at the stretch. “Oh god.”
“Good girl, so good,” Changbin growled, pressing his lips to your chest. “So tight.”
“It feels so good,” You moaned.
He rolled his hips against yours, thrusting shallowly up into you. You heard Jisung let out a groan from behind you. As the two of you rocked together, the knot in your stomach began to grow, and you found your breathy moans getting higher in pitch as you reached your peak. Changbin let out a groan as your core fluttered around him. His hands pulled your hips down against his two more times before he was spilling into you.
“Fuck.”
You rolled your eyes to the side, where Chan was leaning forward, elbows on his knees as he watched the two of you. His pupils were blown wide, gaze focused on the place where you and Changbin were connected, lips pulled in between his teeth. You let out a moan as Changbin pulled out of you, and Chan shuddered at the sight.
Changbin pressed a kiss to your forehead. “Your turn, Channie-Hyung.”
“You two are going to be the death of me,” You complained, standing up on shaky feet. Changbin slapped your ass as you turned around, and you shot him a look.
His cum was sliding down your thighs, and Jisung was fixated on the sight. Just like Chan, he had also been leaning forward, but his own hands were tightly pressed against the couch seat, his face flushed and eyes wide. He swallowed harshly when he met your eyes.
Chan stood up slowly, stalking towards you like a wolf walking towards their prey. Your eyes slid close when he gripped your jaw, pressing his lips hard against your own. You moaned as he suddenly pulled you up into his arms, the sudden show of strength making your core ache.
When he dropped you onto Jisung’s lap, both you and the young producer moaned. Determined to keep his hands to himself, Jisung shoved his hands under his thighs and tilted his body back away from you, but Chan just pushed until your back was pressed against his chest, giving Jisung a smirk.
“No touching Hannie,” He warned.
Chan kneeled down, pulling open your legs with his hands and motioning for you to grab the, holding yourself open for him. He pressed his tongue against your center, seemingly unbothered by Changbin’s cum that coated your pussy and inner thighs.
He moved his mouth against you slowly and sensually, bringing you close to another high, but never enough to get you there. When one of his fingers joined his tongue to circle your clit, you found yourself getting closer, but he pulled away just as you were on the edge.
You huffed out a laugh. “Oh my god, you suck.”
“Hmm, I want you cumming around my cock, sweetheart.” He pressed his tip against you, pushing in with one fell swoop. “Besides, we’re supposed to be giving Jisung a show.”
“Please-“ Jisung breathed from behind you, but he quickly buried his face into your neck to keep himself from saying anything else.
Chan let out a chuckle. “Thats two strikes baby. Better keep quiet, or you wont get a taste.”
From under you, you could feel Jisung pressing up against your lower back. When Chan pushed forward, the friction from your body created a drag against Jisung’s still closed member. You thought it was cruel, knowing Jisung was the most vocal member of the group when it came to sex, and not allowing him to make any noise while you were fucked against him.
Chan went hard and fast, thrusting into you and pushing back out with a grunt, one leg raising up to the couch and giving him enough leverage to jackhammer into you.
You couldn’t even catch your breath enough to make any noise, mouth open in silent scream as you were thrown into an orgasm so strong your body shuddered. Chan didn’t slow down, continuing to plow into your core with deliberate intensity.
“Come on baby girl, you can give me another,” He coaxed, voice wavering from the force of his thrusts.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” You reached behind you, arms wrapping around Jisung’s neck as you found yourself overwhelmed from the continius pressure. “I- I can’t. Chan, it’s too much.”
“One more,” He insisted, fingers dropping down to you clit.
You squealed, the sudden touch making your body quiver from pleasure, and you found yourself once again reaching an orgasm. Chan let out a groan, climaxing along with you. He gave a few more shallow thrusts as he came inside of you, nearly collapsing on top of both your and Jisung, who was uncharacteristically quiet.
It took you a moment to recover, unable to even open your eyes until Chan started to pull away, in which you snapped your eyes open to capture the look on his face. He looked downright smug as his own cum spilled out of you and onto the fabric of Jisung’s pants. You glanced back to the man behind you, only to find Jisung biting down on his own hand to muffle his moans.
You giggled, carding your fingers through his hair.
“Poor baby, trying so hard to follow the rules,” You cooed.
“Shouldn’t have been such a brat,” Chan said, slumping down onto the couch next to you.
“Hyung, please. Can I- I did what you asked. Please,” Jisung pleaded, voice breathy with need.
Chan raised an eyebrow. “That’s not for me to decide. You should ask her.”
And then all three men looked at you. You were too sore for another round, but you could feel Jisung still pressed against you and knew that it had to be painful. You weren’t cruel enough to leave him hanging like that.
You took pity on him, slipping off his lap and to the ground below.
As you pulled Jisung’s pants down (he excitedly raised up his hips to help you), you felt a warm blanket be placed over your shoulders, and you sent Changbin a grateful look. He offered both you and Chan a bottle of water, which you took gratefully.
“Thanks,” You whispered, handing your half empty bottle to Jisung.
It didn’t take a lot to bring the rapper to the edge. You slipped him into your mouth, letting him gently thrust into you as you used your hands to caress the parts of him that didn’t fit. His gently thrusts started to get sloppy after only a minute, and you pressed one of your hands to his stomach to keep him from thrusting up too far. You pulled him out just enough until his tip was still in your mouth, and you sucked. Jisung came with a loud moan, hands tangling in your hair.
You swallowed down the bitter taste of his seed and laid your cheek against his thigh, looking up at him with a goofy smile.
“You up for another nap?”

Jeongin - Taste

In Your Past - Chapter 3
Stray Kids OT8 x reader, Soulmate AU
Living in a world where soulmates are real, and everyone deals with it differently. Prequel to 'Pieces of My Heart'; how each member dealt with their soul marks, and first meetings.
Masterlist | Pieces Of My Heart
Jeongin always had a deep appreciation for food. Even before he turned 18, he liked to savor the food he ate, enjoyed the taste of his favorite foods and the comfort they brought him. He was always so conscious of the food that he was eating that he realized immediately the day after his 18th birthday when he started tasting things he didn’t eat. His mouth would suddenly explode in flavors, and he knew immediately that it was his soulmate.
The others were very excited to hear about his revelation.
“Our little maknae is all grown up!” Changbin had exclaimed.
“What are they eating right now? Wait, no. Are they eating something right now?” Han questioned.
Jeongin laughed. “They’re not eating anything right now, but I think they had something sweet earlier. It tasted like chocolate.”
They thought it was the coolest thing ever. They would randomly ask him about it, wondering what his soulmate was up to, and he found himself offhandedly mentioning the random tastes that he would experience when it happened.
“Oh, they’re eating peanut butter.”
“Hmmm, meat? Might be a hamburger.”
He remembers the particularly bad timing of one of his soulmate’s meals. They had just eaten a nasty combo of food, right in the middle of filming, and he had to resist the urge to gag for the next 20 minutes until the taste finally wore off. Channie-hyung and Lee Know-hyung then teased him after the shoot.
He was embarrassed, worried that he had ruined the entire thing (and also worried about the sanity of his soulmate to eat something so disgusting), and the company ended up editing out most of his faces for fear of someone finding out what soulmark he had. His manager told him it wasn’t his fault, but he still felt guilty for the extra time the editors had to put in to work around it. Still, he understood the necessity.
While soulmarks were so common that it was almost expected for celebrities to have them, but for idols it was expected to maintain the illusion of accessibility. To reveal a soulmark would essentially isolate a group of people from delusional believing they were made for their bias, and to ruin that illusion would ruin the popularity of a group.
It was disgusting that neither he nor the rest of the boys could talk about something so integral to their entire personality - his soulmark was the reason he always carried gum on him, and Felix’s soulmark made it impossible for him to utilize color schemes without the help of another.
Sometimes he found himself wishing he could talk about it. His soulmark was so odd, one of the most uncommon sensed based soulmarks, and he knew it would be next to impossible for him to find his soulmate based on it alone. He worried about it sometimes, whether he would ever meet them. He knew it was stupid, but he often found himself scrolling through forums, reading through posts made by other people with rare or ‘useless’ soulmarks.
‘I have a smell based soulmark … but my soulmate has the worst sense of smell! It took us nearly 30 years to finally meet, and that only because he had my first words. Can you imagine if he had initials, or taste, or something else equally vague? We never would have found each other!’ ‘I’m 58 and have yet to find my soulmate. I have initials, and despite my best efforts to get to know the names of everyone I’ve ever met, I simply have yet to find them. I’m convinced that my soulmate has to have a bad soulmark as well, otherwise they would have come looking for me by now, right?’ ‘Don’t worry too badly, I was 75 when I met my soulmate. Already happily married and with children, but they became one of my closest friends in such a short amount of time. When my wife died a year later, it was their support and friendship that kept me going. They showed up in my life right when I needed them, and I can’t imagine what I would do without them.’
He knew it was selfish, but he couldn’t imagine having to wait 30 years, let only 70 to meet his soulmate. There was this longing that felt like it had dug a permanent hole in his chest and left him with a gaping hole, pulsing with need strong enough that it consumed his every waking thought.
Would his soulmate like this?
What would his soulmate think about that performance?
What’s his soulmate doing now?
He wanted them. He wanted them so badly that when someone came running up to him on the street claiming to be his soulmate, he only hesitated long enough to make sure they were telling the truth before he finally let that deeply held longing consume him.
Pulling them into his arms felt like healing, and suddenly he was whole again.
He couldn’t hold his excitement when Channie-hyung called him, so eager to share the news. He wanted the members to meet you, wanted to show you off to them, to his parents, to the world. He wanted to scream it from the rooftops. He was unable to stop smiling, fingers laced firmly around his own the whole walk back to the hotel, practically vibrating.
He felt a lump grow in his throat when you told him that you had other soulmates. It made his stomach feel fluttery when he had the same realization as you, watching as you walked towards Hyunjin and Seungmin’s shared room without a thought, eyes firmly on something he couldn’t see.
He wasn’t sure why he hated the thought of sharing you so much.
You were his, sure, but you didn’t belong to him. He wasn’t even sure your soulmate bond would ever be anything more than platonic, and it would be selfish of him to keep you all to himself. But even as he plastered on a fake smile, he was secretly hoping you would agree to wait to meet the others.
He just wanted you to be his, only his, just a little longer.
But then you looked up at him with a dazed look, eyes darting across his face with childlike wonder, and he felt something melt inside him.
“I’ll always be yours, Jeongin.” You whispered.
And suddenly he wasn’t so afraid of losing you anymore. The lump disappeared, the butterflies settling down in his stomach, and he gave you a genuine smile. It was only later as he watched the rest of the members surround you, watched as everyone’s faces became dazed with happiness, and saw the way your eyes held the stars as you looked at each and every one of them, that he realized maybe it would be so bad to have someone to share this feeling with.
And who better than his members to make sure that his soulmate would never have to be alone, never have to deal with the longing he himself had felt? For the first time in a long time, Jeongin wasn’t worried about what the future held. He was happy.

Pieces of My Heart - Chapter 15 Stray Kids OT8 x reader, Soulmate AU
Masterlist | Next Part
The next morning was spent doing errands. You woke up to a few good morning texts that made you smile, and you let them know you were heading out to the store down the street. The street was slightly busy as it was early morning on a weekday, but it wasn’t crowded.
You managed to make it through the store with little to no issues, only slightly panicked when you messed up while thanking the cashier, but thankfully she brushed off the error and wished you a nice day.
Soulmates
Y/N Guess who only slightly embarrassed themselves at the grocery store ^^ Img.png Felix Oh no, what happened? Y/N Tried to say thank you. Accidentally said you’re welcome. Felix ∠ ( ´• 0 •`) 〴 Han Damn, that’s so embarrassing For you For me it’s hilarious Y/N ( ⇀ ╭╮↼ ) Chan Glad you’re back safe Sorry to hear about you embarrassing moment Minho Poor Jagiya RIP your dignity Funeral will be held at 8pm           Y/N ( ง •` ⎽ ´• ) ง
You got back to your apartment and began putting things away only an hour after leaving, which left you with plenty of time to sort out all the things you had planned for the day, starting with your assignments for the week.
You received a text as you began to set up your computer and pull out the books you had bought only a week before you got onto the plane, but you forget about them for a few seconds and it isn’t until you get 6 consecutive notifications that you finally pull out your phone.
Changbin Hey, do you mind doing me a favor? Y/N Hmmm, depends on the favor
The other texts you received were a couple photos and selfies sent by Jeongin, and you smiled as you looked through a few of them. Most of them were obviously taken without the members’ knowledge, and you shamelessly saved a few of them and used your favorite selfie as your phone wallpaper.
Changbin Channie-hyung made plans to work later tonight, despite my best efforts to convince him to take a day off. You mind giving it a shot? Y/N What makes you think he’d listen to me? Changbin I figured you could persuade him more effectively. Y/N Hmmm. I might have some ideas in mind. Changbin Oh? Thought about it before, huh? Y/N NOT LIKE THAT! Get your mind out of the gutter! Changbin Kkkkk As long as it gets him to bed before midnight, I don’t care what you do. Y/N (  ̄ ^  ̄ ) ゞ
You then decided to thank Jeongin for the pictures by making yourself a breakfast full of his favorite foods, settling down at your desk while you ate to go through your email before you got started on your homework. You set a timer for 2 hours, working through as much work as you could with a few breaks in between, and pretty soon your alarm went off.
Double checking it was around lunchtime, you sent a quick message.
Y/N Are you busy right now? Chan Hmm, having a quick lunch with the boys. Why? Is everything okay? Y/N Can I call? Want to hear your voice.
Instead of a reply, you received a call from him, which you received with a smile.
“Well, someone was quite eager,” You teased.
“What can I say. I missed you too.”
“You saw me yesterday.”
“Hmm, but that was over 24 hours ago. It’s a long time to be away from my girlfriend.”
You let out a laugh. “Girlfriend? Awfully sure of yourself considering you haven’t actually asked me yet.”
“I haven’t. But a little birdie told me Seungmin already asked for us.”
“Oh?” You began to pace your room. “Doesn’t that technically mean only Seungmin’s my boyfriend?”
“Haven’t you realized sweetheart? We’re a package deal.”
That made you pause, and you were suddenly grateful that this conversation was taking place over the phone and not in person, because it allowed you to ignore your suddenly hot cheeks and act as if you were as confident as you wished you could be.
“Well, in that case, I think I deserve a nice night in with my lovely boyfriend. What do you say, want to hang out tonight?”
There was a pause on his end, and you could just about make out the distant chatter from the other boys. “I don’t know. I had some ideas I wanted to flesh out while they were still fresh …”
“Shoot. Are you sure I can’t convince you to change your mind? I was really looking forward to getting to spend some time with you.” You dropped your voice down to a seductive tone. “I promise I’ll make it worth your time.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah, I have some ideas in mind.”
“What kind of ideas?”
“Good food, good company, and a good night’s sleep. What more could you possible want?”
“That sounds like heaven,” He said with a smile in his voice. “I’ll agree on one condition.”
“Hmm?”
“Tell me which one of the boys put you up to this.”
You snickered. “Please don’t kill my boyfriends, babe. I prefer to have them around just a little longer.”
“Oh no, I mean to thank them. I was planning on spending the night with you anyways, as an apology for missing dinner last night, but I figured I could get a better deal if I convinced the others that I was going to work tonight-“ He trailed off.
Your mouth dropped open in shock. “You planned this!?”
“I planned on someone snitching on me.” His own voice suddenly dropped, and you felt shivers roll down your spine. “Getting to hear you practically begging for me? Oh honey, that was just the cherry on top.”
“You little shit,” You snapped back breathlessly.
Chan let out a chuckle. “I’ll see you tonight sweetheart.”
“My place or yours?” You wondered, twirling around on your spot with a smile.
“My place. If I have you all alone, I won’t be able to keep my hands to myself.”
“I wouldn’t mind,” You teased. “But your place it is. See you later, alligator.”
“In a while, crocodile.”

Y/N You’re too predictable And apparently, so am I :( Changbin ??
-0-0-
Using the key you had been given just the day before, you made your way into an uneasily quiet apartment. It felt wrong to be there by yourself, but you had a plan for a perfect evening, and part of that part was making sure that you had a nice warm meal waiting for you boys when they got back home.
You were planning on something simple, but also something you were sure everyone would like. You didn’t know if everyone would come around for dinner or if it would just be the 4 who lived there, so you made enough for 9 people and figured if there were leftovers they could always eat tomorrow.
And your timing was nearly spot on, because just as you lowered the heat to leave the food warm, you heard the front door click open. There was a soft chatter and a surprised hum from behind you, and you turned around with a smile.
“Dinner’s ready if you guys are hungry,” you said, and Jisung waddled over to you with a tired smile.
“Hi baby,” he said, wrapping his arms around you.
“Miss me?” You teased.
“Always.” He hooked his chin onto your shoulder, and you felt an arm reach out to pull the lid off the pan on the stove. “Ooh, whats this?”
“Chicken parm. You hungry?”
“Ahhh, you made food!?” Changbin’s loud yell made you jump, and you peeked around Jisung to wave at the other three who were piling into the kitchen.
“It’s ready, if you guys want to eat.”
You received a loud overlapping rumble of confirmation from 3 of the boys, and Chan gave you a knowing look when you winced at the sudden pitch in noise. He mouthed what you assumed was ‘thank you’, but you had to quickly look away to keep Hyunjin from dropping the plates he had been trying to grab despite you and Jisung standing in his way.
Jisung whined when you pulled away, and it was only with a promise to sit next to him that you managed to wrangle them all to the table.
The rest of the meal was surprisingly silent as the boys ate. You could tell they were tired, and you were thankful that Chan wasn’t going to actually be working late that night because he looked like he needed a good night’s sleep more than anyone.
“I’ll clean up,” You reassured the others when they finished. “You guys go get ready for bed.”
“Are you staying?!” Hyunjin piped up, giving you a pleading look.
“Sorry Hyunnie, I called dibs,” Chan said, patting the young dancer on the shoulder.
Changbin gave you a sour look and you laughed, knowing that he had undoubtedly asked Chan about your cryptic text and realized you had both been bamboozled.
Jisung let out a yell. “No fair! Why do you get to spend the night with them?”
“Yeah! What if I get lonely tonight?”
“Ah, Hyunjinnie! You can stay with me if you want!” Changbin chimed in.
Hyunjin made a face, leaning away from Changbin who was now making kissy faces, and shooting you a pleading look. You grabbed his plate and escaped into the kitchen, the sound of chairs scratching along the floor and pounding footsteps echoing down the halls.
“Everyday,” Chan sighed, joining you at the sink and placing his plate on the counter.
You glanced at him, smile tugging at your lips. “You poor boy. You look like you need a break.”
“Hmm, good thing I have a perfect escape,” He whispered, wrapping his arms around your waist.
The heat from his body soaked through your shirt and you leaned back, pausing in your dish washing to appreciate the feeling of content you experienced being in his arms, and you knew he felt it too when he slumped against you as his muscles relaxed. He pressed a kiss to your shoulder, grip tightening for a split second before he pulled away.
“Move over,” He said, bumping you with his hip. “Let me help.”
“You don’t have to,” You reassured him. “I know you’re tired.”
“The quicker we finish this, the quicker I get to have you in my bed.”
You flushed at the subtle innuendo he dropped on you, and if it wasn’t for the giggle that escaped him when he realized it too, you would have thought it was on purpose. You bumped him back and the two of you made quick work of the dishes.

Something nudged your shoulder, and you jolted awake with a sudden inhale of air. There was a blurry smudge of a person leaning over you, and your heart was beating loudly in your ears until your eyes adjusted to the dark and you realized that the smudge was Jisung, frozen with his eyes wide at having been caught. You let out the breath you had been holding.
“Sungie,” You groaned, and Chan shifted from behind you. “Seriously?”
“I was hoping you wouldn’t notice until tomorrow.”
You closed your eyes, lifting up the blanket in a silent invitation, and Jisung took the win with grace as he slid under the covers. Chan huffed out a laugh in realization, warm air hitting the back of your neck. Jisung pressed his back against your front, and you wrapped your arms around him, the warmth from both sides slowly pulling you back to sleep.

Secret Secret Chapter 4

Masterlist | Part 3 | Part 5
The rest of the week passed by surprisingly easily. You got around to meeting everybody else on the team, and you did your best to remember their names (thankfully most of them were older than you, which allowed you to easily pull the Oppa or Unnie card when you forgot). They were all kind and helpful, and at the worst indifferent to your presence, which allowed you to make it through the week fairly easily.
You were busy with promotional translations and working out the translation for a few videos that would be dropping the next week, so you saw little of the others as you spent most of your time on your computer. Even so, you managed to find some free time to meet up on Friday with Maya, who was swamped with picking out and modifying all the MV outfits that were scheduled for the end of the month.
When she plopped onto her chair with a sigh, you could only give her a sympathetic look. “Hey, you sure you have the time to have coffee with me?”
“I need a break. Believe me, this caffeine hit is the only thing keeping me going right now.”
“Looking forwards to the weekend?” You asked, knowing that she got Saturday and Sunday off.
“Hmm, I’m definitely going to enjoy my weekend,” Maya confirmed, sipping her coffee. “My girlfriend’s birthday is on Sunday, so we’re planning a small party to celebrate. What about you?”
“I think I’m just going to relax at home.”
You still had to come in on Saturday for a quick meeting to confirm the projects you had worked on that week before they were posted, but it would only be for an hour or two, which left the rest of the weekend free. Normally you and Sooyoung would go out, but you weren’t really feeling it, especially after what happened last week.
Maya lifted her head and gave you a soft smile. “Do you want to come to the party?”
“What time is it?”
“We’re planning for noon. A nice little lunch and then just a hang out afterwards. It’s just going to be me and my girlfriend, a few friends, and some coworkers,” Maya said.
You nodded in understanding. “I’ll probably stop by for a bit. Just send me the address.”
Both of you realized the issues immediately after you spoke, and she was pulling out her phone before you could even say you didn’t have her number out loud. The two of you exchanged numbers and had a comfortable conversation for a few minutes to finish your drinks. Your lunch officially ended when Maya received a text. She scowled.
You shared a knowing look. “Duty calls.”

The company building was practically empty this early on a Saturday morning. On the one hand you were mad at having to be awake so early on the weekend, but on the other hand you appreciated them getting this out of the way so you would have the rest of the afternoon free. The guard nodded in greeting to you as you passed to the elevators, and you smiled in return.
The meeting passed by pretty quickly, all things considered. Soojin, Jeonhui, and the head advertisement manager all joined you, along with a couple of other employees, and you went over the promotional material. You felt a little nervous when presenting your work, but nothing seemed out of place, and they quickly moved on to the next person with little to no words.
Maybe somebody else would have been offended by the way they seemed to look past you, but you took comfort in the indifference, knowing that it was the lack of attention that allowed you to be where you were now.
The meeting was over just as the clock struck 11, and Jeonhui wished you a good weekend as you were leaving. A few of the other employees lingered behind to talk with each other, but you weren’t close or comfortable enough to any of them to join them. You just wanted to go home.
The elevator reeked when you opened it.
The smell of spoiled milk and rotten strawberries hit you, and you immediately clamped a hand over your nose. Disappointment, anger, fear. Your omega was immediately on guard, and you felt like your heart had dropped down to your stomach.
“Ugh, what is that scent?”
“Is that … an omega?”
The other employees who had been behind you walked over, and even when the elevator doors closed once again, the air still lingered with the smell of an omega in distress. It made your hackles rise, and you felt the need to find that omega and comfort them, while another part of you wanted to run. An omega in distress usually meant danger.
You swallowed hard.
The female employee wrinkled her nose in disgust. “Gross. What’s an omega even doing in the building to begin with?”
“Probably one of the trainees. They like to come around and practice on weekdays, as if the extra effort changes the fact that they’re an omega’s.” The male employee said, waving his hand in front of his nose. “Disgusting.”
“That’s omegas for you. Think they deserve the world just because they’re so dainty and fragile. Ugh, I can’t stand them. Why does the company even allow omegas to audition anymore?”
“I don’t think they do. Must have just presented.”
“Let’s just take the stairs. I’ll get a cleaner to sterilize the elevator.”
The two employees walked away, either ignorant of or completely unaware of your rapidly changing mood. Their words echoed in your head, and you found your eyes welling up with tears, not self-consciously, but in anger. Anger at the way they talked so callously about another person, most likely a child.
They way they so nonchalantly and openly admitted the prejudice against omegas in the work force. And the way that neither one of them even thought for a second to go looking for that poor omega in need of help.
You weren’t like them.
You took the elevator, stopping on every floor you had access to and sniffing the air from the hallways. One of the upper floors, where the practice rooms could be found, had a lingering scent, but it was faint, which told you the omega had probably come from there.
You then checked the office floors below them, but they were surprisingly empty. Finally, you found yourself on a floor that you had yet to see, but the second the doors opened you knew it was the right one.
It was the studio floor, which held recording studios as well as production studios.
And it reeked.
The scent in the elevator had already begun to dissipate, so the strong smell was a good sign that the omega was still in the area. Why a trainee would be on the studio floor was beyond your knowledge, but you were on a mission. Your own omega snapped her jaws at the thought of the harsh cruel words from your fellow colleagues.
Gross.
Disgusting.
I can’t stand them.
You knew even if you had been a beta those words would have been offensive to you, and the fact that they said it so easily made your skin boil. You were grateful for your own scent blockers because there was no way they wouldn’t have noticed your soured mood otherwise.
You followed the smell past the entrance area, which had a small kitchen area where coffee and snacks were available, for those who didn’t want to go all the way down to the cafeteria. Or, part of you considered, for those who stayed late enough that the cafeteria would be closed. You thought of Chan, the way the other staff members warned you to keep an eye on him.
‘He’s a workaholic,’ One translator had mentioned in passing. ‘It’s admirable, if not a little stupid.’
Thinking of the alpha made your chest ache.
It felt almost fitting that the farther down the hall you went, in the opposite direction from the recording studios and instead towards a series of locked and labeled doors, when you realized where exactly the scent was leading you. Nearly at the end of the hall, you found a door labeled ‘3racha’.
The door was closed, but the scent told you there was someone inside.
You felt most of your anger dissipating.
On the one hand, you found yourself almost relieved. If there was anybody that you had gotten to know in this past week that you would trust with a distressed omega, it was Chan. He had 2 omegas on his team. He was a comforting figure. And above all else, he was a good man. You trusted him to have the situation handled, and to provide the compassion necessary for the situation.
But on the other hand, your omega refused to leave without making sure that the other was okay. It was survival mentality, the need to stick together, especially in a world like this that would so easily shove the weak and underappreciated away.
But checking in on the other omega would mean having to confront Chan, and you weren’t ready to have to deal with him just yet. You couldn’t look him in the eye without your omega’s want bubbling up, and this close to the surface, you wouldn’t be able to suppress it.
You didn’t really get to make your decision before the door opened, and you startled, legs tensing as you considered running.
A young girl who couldn’t be older than 15 nearly smacked right into you, and she quickly raised her wide-eyed gaze to meet with your own, mouth opening in shock and her scent hitting you with a burst of surprise. Strawberries and milk, sweet and pleasant despite the worry that it conveyed.
“Oh, I- Sorry!” She bowed so low that her hair flipped over her head, the strands hitting you in the face. And then she realized what had happened, lifting her head up with a gasp. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to- are you okay?”
You raised your hands to show her you meant no harm.
“Hey, it’s okay, no need to apologize.” You eyed her tear-stained cheeks. “Are you okay?”
She dropped her gaze. “I’m fine. Thank you.”
You wanted to pull her into a hug. You had to remind yourself she didn’t know you, and that would be weird.
‘It wouldn’t be weird if she knew you were an omega’ your own omega grumbled in your head.
You ignored her.
“You should go home, Jisoo. Your parents will get worried,” A voice said from behind the girl, and your eyes snapped up. “Don’t worry about today. Everything will be okay.”
“Thank you, Oppa.” Jisoo gave you a weary look, but bowed to you nonetheless. “Have a nice day, Unnie.”
“Get home safe,” You answered back, and her shoulders relaxed slightly.
You both watched Jisoo make her way down the hall, the newly presented omega now calmer and safe. Your omega settled at the confirmation, and you felt your energy level drop, prompting you to press your hand against your forehead and close your eyes to let out a huge sigh.
“You know, I think you’re the last person I expected to find on this floor,” Changbin mused.
When you opened your eyes, you saw the beta watching you with a curious look, and you winced. Now that you had calmed down and everything was okay, you realized your behavior might have seemed erratic and confusing to anyone who wasn’t aware of your true presentation. Which Changbin was not.
You suddenly wished that it had been Chan inside the studio instead.
“There was a distressed scent in the elevators, and I … was worried,” You explained, trying to make yourself sound nonchalant. “I just wanted to make sure everything was okay.”
He pushed his tongue to the inside of his cheek, eyes drifting from your figure to the wall behind you. “Well, it’s a pretty shitty situation, I can’t lie.”
“I heard the company isn’t allowing omega trainee’s anymore.”
“Yeah, they made the decision last year.” Changbin shook his head. “She’s devastated. I calmed her down, told her I would try to figure something out, but ….”
He trailed off, a frown pulling at his mouth. You couldn’t smell him, his sweater doing a good job of hiding most of his scent from you, but you could tell just by his body language that he was angry. You felt a sense of reassurance at that.
Maybe Chan wasn’t the only best option for this situation.
“Are you two close?” You wondered, thinking about the direct path Jisoo had made from the practice rooms. “She headed straight here once she realized what was going on.”
“Were not particularly close, but Chan has told the trainees multiple times that if they ever need anything, they can come to us for help. I just happened to be the one here today.”
You nodded. “They look up to you guys, don’t they?”
“I think all trainee’s look up to idols,” Changbin said, running his hand through his hair. “I kind of wish Chan had been here instead. Or maybe even Jisung. I’m not sure how much I helped her.”
“I think you did a good job. She didn’t smell distressed anymore,” You reassured him.
Changbin’s eyebrows twitched down for a second, even as he nodded. “Yeah, I guess.”
You both stood there in silence for a few seconds. Eventually, you sighed again.
“Well, I guess I should get going. Umm, I guess have a good weekend,” You said.
“You too.”
When you got to the end of the hall, right before turning the corner, you glanced back. Changbin was still standing at the doorway, watching you with a thoughtful look on his face.

Maya’s girlfriend, Isa, was an amazing cook, and judging by the gleeful look on her face as everyone practically devoured the food, you had a feeling she knew. You practically moaned the moment you took your first bite. A beta you assumed was one of her friends melted in his seat, and then jokingly asked Isa for her hand in marriage.
“You’ll have to fight me for it,” Maya joked.
“Don’t tempt me.”
You giggled, and Isa leaned over her side of the table to smile at you. “How’s the food?”
“I’m normally not the type of person to encourage the birthday girl cooking her own meals, but hot damn. I can see why they put you in charge of the cooking,” You praised.
Isa beamed. “Exactly! That, and Maya burns water.”
“It was one time!”
The rest of the table laughed loudly, and Maya rolled her eyes. The other guests began to converse between themselves, and Isa eyed you with a small smile.
“So, you’re the new translator,” She began, and you paused with your fork an inch from your mouth. You nodded. “How’s it going? Maya tells me you joined at an inconvenient time, what with the tour starting up soon.”
You raised your eyebrows. “Oh? She told you about that?”
“I’m her girlfriend, she tells me everything,” Isa said nonchalantly.
“Everything?”
Isa grinned, leaning closer. “Everything. Maya’s nice and quiet and gets her job done, so sometimes people are very loose lipped when around her. You’d be surprised by the amount of drama that goes on in that fancy building of yours that nobody every hears about.”
“Oh? Like what”
She simply winked. “I’ll tell you later.”
Later turned out to be while you were washing dishes, a task you decided to take up to get away from the room full of alpha pheromones. You knew they weren’t doing it on purpose, since they were under the impression you were a beta and had no way of knowing about your sensitive omega nose, but it was still enough for you to get overwhelmed.
Isa eyed the kitchen door where Maya was with the other guests, and then she was leaning in close to you as she passed by. “Two of the stylists are hooking up.”
“What?!” You nearly dropped the plate you were holding.
“JYP tried to get one of his nephews into the company, but he bombed his audition so badly that he couldn’t even use nepotism to save it.”
You let out a sharp noise of surprise. “Oh my god, Maya really does tell you everything.”
“Yup.” Isa smirked. “Want to hear more?”
“I’m not sure I should,” you protested, but after a moment of her just staring at you knowingly, you broke out into a smile. “Oh, who am I kidding. Tell me everything!”
“Well, I’m not quite sure about this one, because it’s more recent, but apparently one of the idols is having a lovers spat with another one of his members.”
You blinked in surprise. “That’s definitely news to me.”
“Yeah. She was complaining about how the recent photoshoot had to be delayed an extra hour because Felix refused to be in the same room as Chan.”
“Wait, Felix and Chan are the ones fighting?”
Isa paused. “Oh, yeah. I forgot you were working with them. Don’t let Maya know I told you anything, it’s supposed to be kept hush hush.”
“Right. I won’t say anything,” You promised.
-0-0-
“Why are you and Felix fighting?”
The words were out of your mouth before you could stop them. In your defense, you would have said anything in that moment, if just to end the awkward silence that had fallen over you and Chan when the two of you found yourselves alone in the meeting room.
You hadn’t intended to be alone with him. You weren’t even supposed to be in the meeting room in the first place. You had been passing by after dropping off some papers that Jeonhui had asked for, and just happened to almost get hit by a door as it opened, with Felix storming out. You both paused and stared at each other for a second in surprise.
“Oh, hey.”
Your eyes darted towards the open door, where you could see a dejected Chan standing with his hands on his hips. “Hey.”
Felix gave you a strained smile as he passed you by, and you watched him go for a second before you entered the meeting room yourself. Chan only lifted his head a fraction as you walked in. You closed the door behind you, and the two of you lingered in that awkward silence before you finally decided to break it in the most stupid way possible. You knew the question was out of line the second it was out of your mouth.
Why had you even walked into the room to begin with? Why hadn’t you just walked away?
Chan finally lifted his head completely, and you froze at the sight of his eyes.
They were red.
“Shit.“
Your hand reached blindly behind you for the door handle, but before you could grab it Chan was suddenly at your side, hand gripping your wrist tightly. Your breath caught in your throat, the sudden bitter scent of his alpha hitting you in the face.
He swallowed hard. “Don’t go.”
“I don’t think I should even be here,” You admitted, but you allowed him to pull your arm back in front of you anyways. “Chan, your alpha-“
“I know,” He whispered, closing his eyes. “It’s okay, I’m not … I can’t stand watching another omega walk away from me right now. Just … stay.”
With his alpha so close to the surface, you found it hard to refuse. While you could have just stood there, allowing him a moment to come down from his headspace on his own, there was something so painful about watching Chan battle with his own emotions and instincts. It was an impulsive decision, much like the choice to walk into the meeting room, much like the need to say something.
You grabbed his hand, the same one still holding you, and brought it up to your lips. With a soft kiss to the inside of his wrist, Chan let out a shudder, and he easily allowed you to pull him closer until his face was pressed against your neck.
While your omega scent was still covered with the artificial scent of beta, it would have to do. You softly allowed him to scent you, and it only took a few minutes before Chan came back to himself with a sharp inhale.
He pulled away from you so quickly he stumbled on his feet. “Shit, I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be,” You reassured him, licking your lips. “You needed some grounding.”
“Fuck.” He ran his hand down his face.
You gave him a sympathetic smile. “That bad, huh?”
“Felix is really mad this time. I think I fucked up,” He said.
“Mind me asking what happened?” Chan was silent, and you took a hint. “Right, none of my business then.”
“No, it’s definitely your business.”
You paused from where you had started to turn back to the door. “Sorry?”
“Felix is mad because of the omega I slept with last week. You.”
“What?”
“He wants to meet you.”
“What?”
Chan let out a sigh, and he pulled out a chair to sit down. After a moment of consideration, he offered one of the chairs for you, and you were quick to take it since it felt like your legs were seconds away from giving out on you. The more he talked, the more dizzy you felt.
“Explain,” You said, staring Chan down.
“Felix knows I slept with an omega last week. I let it slip that I was still in contact with you, accidentally, and now he thinks that I might be having a serious relationship with you- well, the omega. He wants to meet you, and when I told him he couldn’t, he got upset. He thinks that … he thinks I might be trying to replace him.”
“That’s ridiculous,” You said with a scowl.
“I know. I thought it was just a petty little argument, but he … I think he actually believes it. He got so upset, yelled that me not wanting him to meet the other omega was suspicious and that if it wasn’t serious I would have just said that, and I obviously can’t explain it-“
“Because of me.”
“Because it’s complicated,” Chan corrected, rubbing his face again. “This isn’t on you, sweetheart. This is my problem.”
You scoffed. “Are you kidding me? Your omega is mad at you because of me, Chan. He thinks you’re replacing him with me. And if you told him the truth, none of this would be an issue.”
“If he thought it was just a one-night stand, then this wouldn’t be a problem anyways. I’m the one who fucked up here,” Chan argued.
“Why would he even think it was more than that anyways?” You wondered.
Chan froze.
You found yourself letting out a small laugh as he just stared at you with wide eyes, not wanting to believe the first thought that ran through your head. But the second thought, and then the third, all felt less convincing. Your smile dropped pretty quickly.
“Chan. Why would Felix think it was more than a one-night stand?”
He ran his fingers through his hair, then down his face, and then he shot to his feet to turn away from you completely. You shook your head in disbelief.
“You can’t be serious,” You breathed.
“This was before I knew you were a part of the company. I told him the morning after, before the meeting, and I obviously didn’t have the chance to explain what happened.”
“Jesus, Chan! You were planning on courting me?”
“Yes, I was.”
“Fuck.” You slumped back in your seat. “Why didn’t you just tell him I rejected you or something?”
“He would know I was lying. I wouldn’t have had time to ‘meet up’ with you this past week because we’ve been busy, and if he thought I did after he asked to meet you, he would have been even more pissed at me for ignoring him.” Chan explained. “It’s just … I thought I’d have time to come up with something, but it’s been a very stressful week.”
“Fuck,” you repeated.
Chan turned back around, giving you a tired look. “Yeah, fuck.”
He shook his head, and with his hands on his hips, he began to pace the length of the meeting room. You glanced a look at the clock and realized that you needed to get back to your desk before someone noticed how long you had been gone. You needed to finish your work for the day. You needed to leave the room and hope that nobody caught you here with Chan. What you needed to do was clear.
But you couldn’t think about any of that. You could only think about the strained smile on Felix’s face as he passed you by, the havoc that Chan had to have gone through for his alpha to take over, the fact that their relationship was being strained because of you. You closed your eyes, but you could still hear the footsteps as Chan paced.
“Tell him.”
The footsteps paused, and you opened your eyes to give Chan an even look.
He didn’t turn around. “What was that?”
“Felix,” You clarified, letting out a soft sigh. “Tell him the truth.”
Chan spun around with wide eyes. “Are you serious?”
“I’m not letting your pack relationships fall apart because of my choices.”
“You don’t have to do this.”
You tilted your head to the side. “Do you trust Felix?”
“With my life,” he said with no hesitation.
“Then so do I.”
The two of you stared each other down. Your head still felt fuzzy, but your chest no longer felt like there was a weight holding you down. You pulled yourself up from the seat, and only took a second to gain your composure.
You gave him a nod. “Well, I got to get back to work. I’ll see you later.”
“Wait, that’s it?”
You didn’t bother answering him, instead making your way towards the elevators with an urgency that only grew the further you got from him. The dizziness had gone away, and as the reality of the situation started to dawn on you, so did your clarity. Being that close to Chan, letting him scent you with his alpha so close to the surface, had been a terrible decision. Your body felt hot, and you were grateful for your scent blockers.
Today was chalking up to be a horrible day.
You were going into pre-heat.

Pieces of My Heart - Chapter 14 Stray Kids OT8 x reader, Soulmate AU
Masterlist | Next Part
It was the day after you arrived that the boys helped you move into what would now be your new apartment. Chan had set up the entire thing before you even got on the plane, insisting on dealing with the first month of the rent considering it was a kind of high-end apartment.
It was one you never would have chosen for yourself, even though the proximity to nearby bus stops and shopping areas was nice, and the high security made it safe for the boys to not worry about crazy fans. But you had half a mind to ask for Chan to help you find an apartment nearby but somewhat more affordable for you.
Chan hadn’t even let you voice your worries before he was already reassuring you.
“It’s all on company budget. You’re our soulmate, it’s unavoidable that you’d be spending a lot of time around us, and it’s less of a hassle if you’re not entering or leaving the building all the time.”
You had a feeling the only reason the company cared was probably because they wanted to avoid the media finding out about you. But you were also grateful for not having to be in the public eye. After all, it wasn’t just Stray Kids that currently resided in the building, and you wanted to avoid your face or name being speculated as someone important to any of the multiple idols or actors that may or may not live in the area. Hell, you wanted to avoid being in the public eye at all.
It was that idea, along with the fact that your own apartment wasn’t nearly as expensive as the boys’, that made it easy for you to accept the living arrangements with no fuss.
Your apartment was 3 floors below the boys, with a singular bedroom, one bathroom, and a small area that counted as both a kitchen and a laundry room. It was small, but it was cozy, and you weren’t quite planning on spending much time in it if you were honest. Not when, as Jeongin carried in your suitcase and Felix tried explaining the laundry machine settings to you, Chan slipped two sets of keys into your hands.
“The first one is your apartment keys. I made a copy in case you lose it, it’s in our kitchen drawer if you ever need it. The other two are the keys to our dorms.”
And it was left at that.
Felix rested his chin on your shoulder, hand reaching around you to swipe the keys out of your hands and dangle one of them in front of your eyes. “This one is ours. Remember it, you’ll probably be using it a lot more than the other two.”
“Hey!”
Jisung tried to pull you away from his sunshine twin, but Felix wrapped an arm around your waist, letting out a laugh as the sudden resistance caused Jisung to rebound back towards you. The rapper had to grab onto the kitchen counter to avoid barreling into you. He let out a huff.
“Maybe they’ll want to spend more time in our dorm. We’re the cool ones, after all.”
“You guys don’t even spend time in your own dorm most of the time. You’re always at the studio, or the gym,” Jeongin countered.
“And even when you’re here, you guys spend more time in our dorm with us,” Felix added, his deep voice resonated in your ear, making your arms break out in goosebumps.
Jisung spluttered. “Lies! Slander! I’m being tag teamed by these two. Hyung, can you believe this?”
Chan laughed but made no move to intervene.
“Hyung!”

It took less than an hour for you to unpack all your belongings. The boys had decided to give you some space, and you used the opportunity to finally take a moment to yourself, settling yourself against your new bed. Rain splattered against the window, and you stared at the drops for a moment. Your body hummed, something you hadn’t noticed the first time you had been around the boys but was now hard to ignore. You felt light. You felt happy.
God, you hated that your mom was right.
The thought of your mom and dad had you longing to talk to them, but it was the middle of the night for them. You sent them a message, telling them you missed them and asking to talk later that night, and then you sent a quick message to the group chat.
Soulmates
Y/N I’m done packing. Anyone want to hang out?
You took a quick shower and changed into something comfortable, since you weren’t planning on leaving the building just yet. You were still a bit jet lagged, and didn’t have the energy to go out, but hanging out with one of the boys and getting to know them better seemed like the perfect way to spend your day. You checked your phone to see 3 unread messages.
Soulmates

Y/N Technically none of you have actually asked me to be your girlfriend, so I guess im still single?
The group chat went suspiciously quite for the next few minutes as you gathered your apartment keys and sent a quick text directly to Felix to let him know you were on your way up.
He sends you nothing more than a simple ‘ok’ and you found yourself concluding that the boys were probably freaking out in their own personal group chat. The next message came through just as you got of the elevator on Felix’s floor.
Seungmin Do you mind if I join you and Felix for your movie night? Y/N Of course not!
You walked up to the boys’ dorm, taking a moment to double check the apartment number that Chan had sent you earlier so you wouldn’t forget, and then you had a moment where you stared down at the keys and felt yourself hesitate. You switched back over to Seugmin’s chat.
Y/N Hey, I’m outside Do you mind letting me in? Seungmin I’ll be there in a sec Don’t you have a key? Y/N I do Seungmin So why don’t you use it? Y/N Maybe I just want to see your pretty face
The door opened, and a shy looking Seungmin waved you in. You waited until he closed the door behind you before you wrapped you arms around him, and he didn’t hesitate to slip his own arms around your shoulders and pull you in closer. You let out a soft hum. Even though it had only been that morning that you had last seen him, you felt like you had never really gotten a moment to just be close to the singer.
In fact, you were pretty sure this was the first time you had ever been completely alone with Seungmin at all. You pointed this fact out to him, and he tightened his grip slightly.
“We never really had a chance to spend any time together alone,” He said, and you could feel his hesitation to mention exactly why that was.
You pulled back enough so you could look him in the eye. “Maybe we should change that.”
“Hmm?”
“Do you want to go on a date?” You asked him, sliding your arms up so that they were now around his shoulders. “Just you and me, nobody else?”
Seungmin shivered as one of your fingers spread out, one hand carding through the hair at his nape and the other lightly scratching at his neck. “Depends.”
You stopped your ministrations. “Depends on what?”
“Will you be my girlfriend?”
You felt your breath catch in your throat, and it escaped in a wheeze that shortly turned into a laugh. You pulled Seungmin back in close so you could hide your face and the smile that was forcing itself onto your face, suddenly shy.
“Wow, you really didn’t wait at all, did you,” You giggled. “I thought for sure someone would have asked me through the chat first.”
Seungmin snorted. “Jisung wanted to, but we convinced him that it was more romantic to ask you in person.”
“Well,” You pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Consider me very much romanced.”
You pulled away, but Seungmin kept a light hold on your wrist, pulling you back in when you started to turn out of the entrance. You spun back into his arms, catching yourself with a hand to his chest.
“You didn’t answer my question,” He reminded you, nose brushing up against your own.
“Yes, Seungmin. I’ll be your girlfriend,” You said with a smile.
And his lips pressed against yours for a moment, and then he was pulling back with a smile of his own. “Good.”

You half expected Felix to ask you to be his girlfriend, or maybe some other romantic gesture, but he never even brought it up. Instead, the three of you decided to watch a series that none of you had watched before, sitting side by side on Felix’s bed with his desk pulled close so his computer functioned as a makeshift tv. He claimed it was comfier in his room than in the living room, and you thought it was just an excuse to have you pressed up against him.
Except he didn’t make any moves to pull you closer, and the three of you managed to make it through half a season with nothing more than commentary on the show and a quick pause to get some snacks.
For being one of the touchiest soulmates, he sure was doing a great job at keeping his distance from you. You found yourself pouting, wondering if your earlier texts had upset him in some way, or if there was something else going on.
You wanted to ask, but you also didn’t want to ruin the calm mood. Felix didn’t seem to notice your pout when he came back with your favorite candy, the very one you had mentioned to Chan before.
“Chris told me you liked these,” was all he said, and you pouted harder.
He definitely wasn’t mad at you; you knew that much. It genuinely seemed like he was just relaxing in your presence, but every other time you had been this close you had only gotten a millisecond to yourself before he had pulled you into his arms. Seungmin didn’t seem to notice anything off though, and you wondered if maybe you were just overthinking everything.
Again.
You decided to ignore your own worries, focusing on the show. But you drifted closer to Felix, resting your head against his shoulder and squeezing your arm between his back and the pillow he was resting against so you could cuddle up against him. He let out a soft hum, arm reaching out to pat your head, but made no moves to return the cuddle. You narrowed your eyes at him.
You waited a few minutes, letting the episode get closer to its end before you made your next move. You allowed yourself to slip lower on the bed, you head now perfectly level with Felix’s chest, and it allowed you to wrap your arms around his middle and rest yourself completely against him. The sudden shift in position also forced him to hold onto you or fall to the side from you combined weight, and he realized this immediately.
His arm slipped around you, but instead of simply resting against you, he pushed back against you until you were once again sitting up, and then he pulled away to sit back next to you, shoulder against yours. You froze, blinking in surprise at the most subtle and quiet rejection you had ever received before you reacted.
“Seriously?”
“Hmm?”
You reached for the remote to pause the show before it could skip to the next episode, and Seungmin glanced at you from the corner of your eye, but you were much more focused on Felix.
Poor soft Felix who had the perfect innocent puppy dog eyes looking at you in confusion, but you would not allow yourself to be swayed by his beautiful looks.
“If you didn’t want to cuddle me, you could have just said something,” You told him. “But if I’m bothering you, you really should say something instead of pushing me away.”
Felix gaped. “I-what!? That’s not-“
“Seriously Felix. This is how you treat my girlfriend?” Seungmin drawled, resting his chin against your shoulder to stare down Felix. “Not cool.”
“Girlfriend?! I thought we agreed to wait!”
“Yeah, until we were face to face. Hate to break it to you buddy, but this is face to face,” Seungmin said, gesturing between the two of you and Felix with an amused look. “What exactly were you planning on waiting for?”
“I-“ Felix blinked, hands coming up to swipe down his face. “I don’t know! Shit, wait, now I have to think of something to say.”
“Maybe we can start with why you’ve been refusing to cuddle with me and we can work our way around,” You reminded him.
“I wasn’t refusing, I just …” Felix glanced at Seungmin. “I didn’t want to make things weird.”
Seungmin pulled away from you, moving forward so he was sitting next to you and not behind. “Why would things be weird? You’re allowed to cuddle with your soulmate.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t want to make you feel left out or anything-“
“It’s fine, it’s not like I haven’t seen you cuddling the others-“
“And I didn’t want to move so quickly, because I thought we were waiting-“
You rolled your eyes. “Oh my god, Felix. I’ve literally made out with half your group. I think cuddling is definitely within the boundaries of slow.”
“Wait, you what?” Seungmin said. “I thought I was the first.”
“Nah, Minho beat you to it. Planted one on her the night after the first concert, it was the cutest thing ever,” Felix said, quick to move the conversation away from him.
“Actually, Jisung was the first one to kiss me,” You corrected them, and then you waved your hand at both of their surprised faces. “Wait, that’s not the point. We’re getting off topic.”
You pointed at Felix. “You, didn’t want to cuddle me because you were worried about moving too fast, and making Seungmin uncomfortable?”
Felix nodded, and you let out a groan.
“And he also thought he had to wait to ask you out,” Seungmin added with a snicker.
Felix let out his own groan, face turning red. “Seungmin, shut up.”
“Make me.”
There was a knock on the door, and Jeongin poked his head into the room with his eyes closed. “Are you guys decent?”
You spluttered. “Why wouldn’t we be!??!”
“None of you were answering your phones!”
Seungmin let out a laugh. “I don’t think youd have to worry about anything happening with Felix around. He wants to take things slow.”
Felix threw his pillow a the Seungmin, but he missed and ended up hitting you in the face. Jeongin let out a gasp, and Seungmin’s laughter stopped so suddenly that the room was filled with a harsh silence for exactly two seconds before you let out a sigh.
“All right, I’m out.”
Jeongin snorted. “Dinner’s ready anyways. Come one, let’s get you away from them” He hissed something at the other two, and even though it was a word you had yet to familiarize yourself with, you understood enough from the context to find yourself nodding along with him.
“Wait, no! I’m sorry!”
“Great, now you got me involved too.”
The boys trailed behind you like lost puppies as you made your way into the kitchen, immediately smiling at the sight of Minho placing food on the table, Hyunjin already serving himself up only for Minho to immediately slap his hand with the food spoon he was holding.
“Wait for the others,” Minho said, glancing up to spot you and Jeongin walking over. “Oh, never mind.”
You skipped over and wrapped your arms around his shoulders, placing a soft kiss to his cheek. “Wow, this looks amazing. Thank you, Oppa.”
You threw the honorific out as a low blow, watching in amusement as Minho ducked his head to hide his growing smile. The last two boys joined you, and the table was suddenly loud and busy, like everyone had collectively forgotten the past few minutes the moment food was placed in front of them. You took a seat next to Hyunjin, inquiring about the missing boys.
“3racha are staying late at the studio today. So it’s just us.”
“Ah, ok.” You reached out with a napkin to wipe away some food from Hyunjin’s cheek, and he winked at you in thanks. “I guess I’ll see them tomorrow then.”
“Probably not,” Minho corrected. “We have an early schedule tomorrow.”
You raised your eyebrows in surprise. “You guys literally just got back from tour!”
“Hmm, it’s just a photoshoot for a magazine. We have the rest of the week off, so don’t worry. You’ll have plenty of time to spend with us,” Felix assured you, patting your thigh under the table.
Hyunjin waved his hands as his eyes widened in a sudden realization, but with his mouth still full of food he was left flapping them around until he finished chewing and could finally talk. “That reminds me! Me and Felix have tickets to a museum this Friday. Do you want to come along? The others have already been, but Felix wanted to check it out again since he can see colors now.”
“Oh, I remember!” It seemed like ages ago that you had been worried about whether or not you would be around for that. You nodded your head in confirmation. “Yeah, I would love to come along.”
“Great. It’s a date.”
Felix’s squeezed your thigh as he said that. The others continued to talk about the upcoming photoshoot, but you found yourself unable to think about anything other than the constant warmth his hand was giving you, and you weren’t sure if you wanted him to pull away or keep touching you as dinner came to an end.
He finally let go when you went to help Seungmin with the dishes, and it was concluded afterwards that it was late and you could finish the series another day.
You wished the other boys goodnight, and while you were tempted to stay the night with one of them (Jeongin even offered up his bed), Minho reminded everyone that they would be leaving early, and they didn’t want to wake you up.
“We’ll see tomorrow night,” Minho told you as he walked you to the door.
Hyunjin wrapped his arms around Felix. “Hey, can I crash with you tonight? I’m too lazy to go back to my dorm.”
“No! Last time I couldn’t get rid of you!”
“Yah! It was one time!”
“I said no, go bother Jeongin or something.”
“Hey! Don’t bring me into this!”
You laughed as the boys continued to yell at each other, giving Minho a pat on the shoulder. “Good luck with the kids.”
He sighed. “God, I don’t know how Channie-hyung does this every day.”
“Maybe you should treat him better.”
“Hmm. Nah.”
You let out another laugh, and finally forced yourself past the door, giving him a smile as you walked away, your heart begging to stay. “Good night, Oppa.”
“Good night, kitten.”
