Yes, we are upset about it. Brave activists are working hard to make it possible. To achieve this, we need to be alive and have a Ukrainian state, not the occupational administration of homophobic Russia that literally executed gay men in one of its regions some years ago.
Unfortunately, progressive changes need some time to become a reality worldwide. It was not long ago that the US did it on the federal level. We are not so quick in Ukraine; that's sad. But it's just a point in our to-do list, not something that will never be changed.
There are bizarre things in each and every country. For me, as a European, it's way more unbelievable that the US still have the death penalty. So that then? Should we Europeans cancel the US once and forever because of this and declare the whole nation unworthy?
We really have a terrific war and genocide here. We do need Western support to survive, basically. It's not a whataboutism contest. Real lives are at stake. This is not the best issue to assert yourself using our tragedy for moral self-jerking."

A moroccan citizen Saadun Brahim with two british citizens - Shaun Pinnter and Andrew Hill - were taken prisoners at Mariupol and sent into illegitimate pseudo-republic DNR. For their heroic attempt to protect citizens of Mariupol they are facing charges of being "foreign mercenaries" and might be given death sentence.

This is unspeakable injustice and violation of international law. We need to do whatever we can to help these people.
Currently ukrainian community is trying to get cooperation from the Moroccan and British embassies in Ukraine, as well as the journalistic community. If you have any connections that might get a chance for these people to survive, please help, especially if you are a citizen of these countries. And the reason why I'm against russians and don't care about the whole "generalization" thing, is because their country attacked mine and every person in my country is now suffering from that. Thats all I'm saying.
I may be a leftist, but in no way does that mean I'm not russophobic. In fact, I never thought I'd hate an entire country, yet here I am. Russia is doing wonders for self-discovery.
