Backstory

The Durands were an ancient pureblood family from France that, held a significant impact among their peers. Begirded by myth, the Durands were said to possess the ability to understand and speak to dragons while said creatures would roam and guard their lands and fort.

Violette grew up in a rather loving and protected environment, away from the fort, in a smaller Chateau near it. Her father, the rightful heir to their myth-enshrouded estate, had rather left it in the hands of his brother, desiring a more conventional life for himself and his family. Although grown up away from the myths and legends, Violette was taught her family's lore and trained in all necessities before attending the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic where she would hone in on her natural affinity for alchemy/spagyric. She’d spend her summers bouncing back and forth between England and France.

In Violette's third year at Beauxbatons, her grandfather on her mother's side died under mysterious circumstances that have not been clarified to this day. Thereupon her parents decided to relocate to England to be closer to her now widowed grandmother, entailing a change of school for her and her sister.

Joining Deaglán on his adventures, Violette focused on her work as a freelance alchemist and potion-maker. Her workspace neatly hidden away in her suitcase, ready to take it with her wherever they'd go. She'd pair up and learn from fellow colleagues all around the world, sometimes exhibiting her art in small galleries in the cities they’d stay in. Slowly but surely making a name for herself in both fields.

Personality: kind, gentle and calm but steadfast in her beliefs, eager to work hard and learn more, feels a lot, great with people but likes to be alone or to be surrounded by close friends, doesn’t like seeing others being mistreated, even though not too talkative (only with people close to her) doesn’t shy away from discussions or voicing her thoughts and opinions, values integrity and kindness above all, has a deep desire to learn and grow

They grew closer ever since and once they graduated from Hogwarts and went along their respective career paths, they wrote letters to each other and eventually reunited in Paris.

Julian Flamel @potionboy3 Violette and Julian met in class and would occasionally sit together and chat. They quickly bonded over their shared experience of moving to England from France and their mutual interest in Alchemy, soon becoming casual friends. When Violette went to Paris during their last summer holidays to prepare for her upcoming apprenticeship, she came to know that the Flamels claimed not to have any relatives named Julian. A little hurt about her unexpected finding, she questioned him upon returning to Hogwarts, asking him why he had lied. This caused a bigger argument between the two and a period of showing each other the cold shoulder. After a while and after coming to his senses, Julian finally reached out to Violette, inquiring about what she had heard … slowly starting to question his mother's story himself. After their reconciliation and their trust in each other growing, the two became close friends.
