I'd love to get some thoughts on my writing! These won't be posted :) I don't mind compliments but my goal is to improve, which is why a few years ago I challenged myself to be part of an English rp on tumblr. If you can spare some time to say what I could be doing better, or differently, I'd love to hear your thoughts! <3
✶Anonymously critique my writing✶
I want to improve. This isn’t a call for compliments nor sugarcoated words. I would like some honest opinions on how I could improve my writing and portrayal. Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

emmahq:
taking a sip of her drink and feeling it burn down her throat, emma tapped her nails on the glass as she held it near her lips. talking to ted was a bit like the taste of alcohol. she could tolerate it, even though it burned a little. she’d long gotten over a bred hatred of ted, but she’d always hold a mild distaste for him, both as a friend and because of her upbringing. “so, why are we here ted? or do you just want to ask me about more famous quidditch players, like last time?”
Tumblr media
@its-tedtonks
Ted wasn’t entirely sure he had made the right decision by calling Emma to that bar - in other words, he knew there were many possible resolutions to a future conversation and feared any of them might involve her telling some people about what they discussed. Yet he didn’t chicken out, soon ready for a night out, and was already drinking a beer by the time she showed up. He greeted her with a nod and waited, smiling at her words. Last time had indeed been fun, a nice time with a friend it seemed.
“Not really, but I’d never refuse an autographed t-shirt if you have any for me.” He laughed a little, tasting more of the beer before resting it on the table, letting his body get closer as he whispered. “I wanted to talk to you about Dromeda. She
I’m worried about her. I thought she might have talked to you about
well, about anything.” He didn’t know if it would be ok to say more. Hopefully she would have some information anyways.

“ what if nothing wants me because i do not want me? ” (Gwen)
“What do you mean? I want you. Fine maybe not the way some people want you, but you’re my friend and you matter to me.” Smiling at her, Ted tried his best reassuring words. Gwen was an amazing person, an incredible beater and somebody so focused and strong-willed he often got himself impressed. Yet now it seemed she couldn’t see those traits.. well he was sure to show her. “First of all, take this.” Offering him an ice-cream, Ted almost chuckled at how much she loved those.
“Second of all, this will never be true. And third, I’ll fight anyone who convinces you otherwise. Now tell me
was it a guy? Or a woman? Or was it one of those annoying papers saying some nasty stuff? You know I have connections and a good enough punch.”

“ you will suffer the way you make me suffer. ”
“Will I?” Raising his eyebrows, Ted tried not to let it show how much he feared the woman right in front of his eyes. He knew the ending was near, most probably, now that she got so close, wand in her right hand and that fucked up smile that told him Bellatrix was more than ready to kill. Yet he still found strength to talk somehow, they only weapon he had access to. Perhaps it was the years of being called mudblood, the number of punches and hexes he sent their way but the even greater number of those he couldn’t. “I don’t think so, Bellatrix. I’ve fought everything, everyone, who tried hurting me - I despise you and your gang, and I’ve been fighting you for years now. But you? You are no more than a pitiful, helpless woman who thinks is doing her best for the one sister you can’t show your lover. You are pathetic.”
“I don’t know what to say about your revenge other than you should have seen it coming when you decided who Andromeda loves is an important enough subject to cause any distress between you too. I would never, ever, let anything like that come between us. And now you want to kill me.. to have me hurt. Well I’ll go peacefully knowing Andi loves me, not you.”

hollyharpies-jones:
“Certainly, sir, very polite. I’ll tell Andromeda about this act of yours, I want to see what’s going to happen.” It was obvious she would not comment on anyone. There were things that were just the two of them, like conversations and experiences that I did not share with Hestia, Frank, Edgar, or even Amelia. It was just another contest and if she had lost, she would have others to win, her ego might be bothered, but ultimately life with Ted and his friends was all about wins and losses where the most important thing was between them: friendship lasting. “I’ll let this go, but the next time you’re going to eat grass, are we clear?”
There were several new sounds in the room that made Gwen look around and try to absorb as much as she could in delight. She laughed loudly, throwing her head back as she imagined how annoyed Ted had been that they had to be separated from time to time. “Ted, no way. This drama does not really work with me,” she interrupted, putting her hand on her shoulder. “I’m happy to take the time to do something together. Thank you for bringing me here.” Lately, it’s been easier to get away from it all and work every second you can within the Quidditch field. Gwen could not control a sad smile when she realized that her mother would love that place, and he would remind her not to eat too much to participate in the rides. “Great, I’m counting on you trying to make me scream as hard as I can, to the point that tomorrow I can not say my own name.” She looked at the rollercoaster with amusement. “How do they do it without brooms? Let’s go! What are you waiting for? An invitation?” She pulled her friend by the hand, only have a picture of whatever it was in front of him. “The turns look incredible, but we do it with brooms! Or do they increase speed?”
Tumblr media
“I’d say it’s an illusion, but truth be told muggles are awesome. I seriously don’t know why anybody has any prejudice towards them, or us, muggleborn, because I’ve failed to find any other group so creative. See that thing over there? It’s where we go up to take the ride... trust me, it won’t make us jump out of the tracks, it’s very safe.” Smiling, Ted started walking rather quickly, not wanting to lose a minute. Wasting was never good, and even worse when he could show her friend such an amazing part of the muggle world.
“They don’t increase speed by themselves, only through the tracks; let’s say the height, how they fall and etc counts to it. It’s difficult to understand but once you’ve been to one, I guess it will be fine.” Fortunately this will happen soon, as the line wasn’t too bad and he had his ways to go first. “Also, what if I go buy some ice creams while we wait?” He laughed, knowing she would love the idea.

fireredlilies:
Lily couldn’t help but wince as she set the man’s bones, trying her very hardest not to react at how much pain she was giving one of her best friends. That was the hardest part of her job - having to hurt people even more, the only way to truly help them. She forced herself to control her breathing, even more surprised when he started talking again. One after another, she started setting the bones, waving her wand to mend them once they were aligned.
“I’m sorry,” she mumbled, offering her hand for him to hold if he needed to, though she doubted that he would actually take it. The two had helped each other through thick and thin, and this was about as thick as she thought possible.
“I started yesterday morning,” said Lily, finishing the last bone as a wave of relief washed through her. “I was supposed to go home last night, but they called me back in right after I left, and I’ve been here ever since.” She smiled tiredly, mixing up a potion to help with the mending. “Here, drink this,” she added, sitting in the chair next to his bed. While she should have went right out of the room after she was finished, a part of her wanted at least one minute to sit and reflect on everything that had happened.
As soon as he started talking about James, though, she felt the lump in her throat return. She knew he was right, her boyfriend was as talented as ever, and she knew that he could hold his own without any questions asked. She was just worried, as he was, that her blind faith in him could prove wrong. She didn’t realize that tears had left her eyes until after they hit her hands, looking over to him with a small smile. “Thank you, Ted. Really, I..” she couldn’t get any more words out, so she stopped herself there.
Tumblr media
Lily was right, the pain hurt like he’d just started a path down to hell. The worst part was knowing there were many people out there who suffered more than him, some who had fallen, others whose bruises couldn’t be healed as fast as his, and the ones... the ones burnt down like their lives matter nothing to the attackers - and in truth, they didn’t.
Everything was so revolting, made his stomach hurt and the wanting to vomit even worse. It was a fairly graphic rush of thoughts going through his mind, but to be fair so were the things he saw back at the village. He had hated the thought that no matter how many people fell for his acts, no matter how many death eaters were captured or stopped once him and Kingsley made an effort to attack back, it still wouldn’t be enough to save many, not even close. He still prayed silently Andromeda wasn’t near these people, and James now
it was a selfish thought, but he needed his friends and his loved-ones to stay alive.
At last he heard Lily’s words, a frowning on his face as he understood what she meant; since yesterday morning sounded like another way to say she wasn’t well at all. He could only imagine the tiredness, the exhaustion. He could only imagine how many lives she had saved, how many she would; hopefully a good enough lot, and even one seemed like a great number. “I shouldn’t be keeping you here.” He tried a small smiling as she worked on him, still closing his eyes. “I know.” She let the drink slip through his throat, the terrible taste serving more as a warning for the pain to come. As if it couldn’t be worse.
“Lily..” He noticed something in her voice and opening his eyes, noticing the tears. “Don’t cry.” Whispering, Ted hoped she would hear it. It was hard enough for him not to let the tears fall, he couldn’t see her crying.. not his friend, not her, not now. “He is strong. You are strong. We’re gonna make it. All of us. And when it’s over, we
we’re gonna get who started this. We’re gonna find these motherfuckers and
they’ll pay. I promise you.” He wanted to say more, but his mind was clouded. So he let the pain take over, hoping it would soon be over.

"nothing in this world was promised or belonged to you."
“I know, Ted. I know. I just thought - well. Nevermind. Thanks, anyways.”
The paper Ted had just given him felt heavy in his hands. He wasn’t expecting this, not from the Order. He was expecting to receive a death certificate for one of his siblings, he was expecting to receive a notice that someone had been hurt and needed his healer’s abilities.
He was not expecting an official rejection from the Order of the Phoenix.
The reasoning stated that he was too young, but he knew from looking at the Order that that wasn’t the true reason.
Ted knew his siblings as well as Lucas did. They wanted him safe. They wanted him to be no part of this war.
Lucas ripped up the official rejection, leaving it at Ted’s feet.
“I’ll find a way to help - Order or not. Tell my siblings that, won’t you?”

There was always something about being encased in Edward’s arms that made the witch feel safe and wanted. With his arms around her, she leaned her head against his shoulder and as he walked, she let him move her with him, her eyes closed as her back pressed against the tree, tears threatening to spill from dark hooded lashes. Never had she felt weaker than she did in that moment. Pining for a family that clearly didn’t want her nor accept her choices, her love. She had went in a few short years from a cold Slytherin Princess to this emotional witch, and truly she didn’t know which was worse.
“Pain, suffering. He looked
broken. I think he’s got blood poisoning but he dismissed my worries.” It had been a harsh view to see, her baby cousin in such a state. While there was only about three years between them, she had always seen him as the baby of the family, the one she wanted to watch out for the most, especially when Sirius had been sorted into Gryffindor and the Slytherin’s took to taking their frustrations with the Gryffindor’s out on Regulus. He was on the cusp of becoming a man, but he would always be that same little boy that she wanted to dress up when she was a little girl. “I invited him to the wedding, but he turned me down.” that that stung. While unsurprising, it hurt more than words could say.
“I have asked Sirius to give me away and I plan on taking Mrs Potter, Lily and Molly dress shopping with me.” she used her own mention of the wedding change the topic away for the side of the family that could no longer stand her existence. She moved forward off the tree, molding herself against him and buried her face against the crook of his shoulder as the first tear fell, hiding it’s shame from his eyes, her arms wrapping tightly around his middle so he couldn’t pull away from the embrace.
Tumblr media
Once, Ted had wished he could change the entire world - his fists constantly found its way for people’s faces, his anger turned into motivation for violence, and more often than not he would take out his wand in the middle of a hallway, was it busy or not, all to defend himself and others muggleborns, the ones who struggled with bullying and prejudice from others. By then he couldn’t understand there were many layers of terror in Earth, his comprehension too attached to the little little world constructed in Hogwarts.
Years later, though, he didn’t wish it as much anymore - now all he wanted was to change it for Andromeda. He suffered silently with her, his heart each time a little more broken: times in which she would wake up sobbing, screaming, others when she went to him with a sad smile, a terrible story. They couldn’t change the families they came from, yet Ted wished at the very least he could make it better for Andi. He had never wanted to change her, but the looks Bellatrix would send them both a the few situations they met, the threats, the things other people said about both, the way she had been abandoned by her family and excluded by the only society she knew altogether
sometimes he failed her by not being able to make it better.
He didn’t say anything this time, not when he mentioned the poison, neither when she seemed to send subjects. All he could do was the seemingly light touches, each time his fingers found her body it seemed he was trying to say he was there after all, and Ted was, always would. He played slowly with her hair, hands finding their way to her neck, and he had to control himself not to hug her, tighter than before. “Andi..” He noticed the hurt in her eyes, groaning so low, out of hurt and anger - not at her, but at Regulus for leaving her like that, and at the others for making him.
Finally she was in his arms again, and he let her know he wanted nothing more than to make that pain go. “Nothing, nothing is gonna make our wedding any less than we have ever wanted. I promise you that, Dromeda. We’ll find a way, we’ll make our way, but if there’s any chance.. any chance at all.. we can get everybody we wished to go, then we’ll figure it out.”
He brought her even closer, hands traveling through her waist as he pressed some kisses to her neck. His voice made it seem he was about to cry, yet he’d never been so much in control as now. “I love you.” Letting go of her, yet his hand still at her waist, he stared at the woman for whom he felt so much. “I want to make you smile every single day, Dromeda. I want to see you frowning at me each time I scare you, only to laugh off a stupid joke. I want your manias, your memories, you. I want to love you every day and I’m not talking just about body, I’m talking about this
” he let his hand press where her heart was, listening to the beat against his finger, her eyes never leaving hers.
He wanted to show her at least a little part of the intensity of how he felt. Wanted to assure her because maybe his love wasn’t enough, but how he wished it was. “I’m talking about how you are the most wonderful woman I have ever met and I have no idea how
 why
you decided you have any feelings for me.” This time he showed her a smile, his lips stealing a kiss, so quick yet not a bit simple.”But I’m amazed you did. And there isn’t one day I don’t wake up thanking God, or Merlin, or whoever it is looking for us, for it.”
Again he allowed himself forward, again his hands were evolving her, and truth was he could lose himself in Andromeda any time, always. Still a smile fell to his lips, any time they separated, even if by the slightest. “Even when you snore.” He added, listening to his own low laughter, another kiss in her neck, and another, and another
he would love her forever, wedding or not wedding, family or not family, prejudice or no prejudice, he knew. Nothing would ever change it, no one would ever be capable of altering one small part of his feelings. Not for her.

bxllxtrix:
She almost dropped her wand when she recognized the Mudblood who had torn her family apart. The one who had stolen her sister, her beloved sister, away from the people that loved her. He looked bloody- that was good, it saved her some time. He looked weak- that was good too, it would make things go faster. After all, while Bellatrix enjoyed torturing an enemy as much as the next Death Eater, she didn’t have all night.
“I think you’d find this is just bloody enough for someone of my kind,” Bellatrix’s face, so similar to Andromeda’s, contorted in a very un-Dromeda-like sneer. “The question is
what are you doing here all alone? Lost my sister? Or maybe she came to her senses and ran away from you,” she jeered (and wished).
Tumblr media
Suddenly, Ted wasn’t a grown up anymore. Just as suddenly, he wasn’t all bloody and hurt, wasn’t staring right at the eyes of a sarcastic Bellatrix, interested in his blood more than anything else. No, now he was a boy, no more than seventeen years old, staring at the image of Andromeda - a hurt, bruised andromeda. One that made his heart jump in fear and pain every time he looked at her. The image changed, though, slowly, her face fixed, the hair messier, and suddenly it wasn’t his girlfriend anymore, but  Bellatrix. His boggart - second boggart. He was reminded of his own thoughts when he and Andromeda started their relationship, how he couldn’t bare the thought that the woman he loved came from the same place that Bellatrix did; such a vicious, violent person shouldn’t share the blood of his love. Yet she did, yet they were sisters and even now
even now they still looked almost the same, if he wasn’t looking.
But Ted was. Ted knew all of their difference, he knew how he had never seen Bellatrix truly smile before, but Andromeda’s smile light up an entire room. He had never watched Bellatrix in a carefree, relaxed mood, yet with Andromeda he always found a way to make her laugh, always made their space a safe space, a comfortable one to be and enjoy. He had never seen her older sister cry, never seen her care about someone if not for herself, and Andi
Andi was tears and sobbing and cleaning those tears and stopping the sob minutes later, she was the strongest woman he knew, the one governed by a beautiful, amazing heart - and an incredible, sane mind. They couldn’t be more alike, yet at the beginning he had looked at Bellatrix for no more than a second and thought, just for a moment, that maybe it was her
 Andi
yet it took another second and the answer was clear. They would never share the ferocious stare, the violent looks, they would never be more than two people linked by blood.
Or would they?
He thought back to Andromeda’s stories, how they were before it all happened, before Bellatrix considered her a traitor. Even the unwanted smiles, hearing how Andi was strong because she did grew up with that person. And now, now he was transported to the past and back to reality
a reality in which he was face to face with the older one, months since they stared at each other for the last time. She hadn’t changed, the wildness was still there, the danger - it made all of him freeze, yet the pain and the blood all kept him going. “We both know.. I will never lose her. Never would.” Breathless, he kept his wand pointed right at her direction, prepared for a fight, yet wanting nothing more than to teleport back to safety - what would he gain from facing Bellatrix? There was only losing at stake.
“If you are so worried about her, maybe you should go look for her
stop somebody from hurt- hurting Andi. Won’t you? Because that’s what I’ve been doing
for the past few minutes.” He tried taking a step back, not out of fear but disgust; he couldn’t bear staring at her, the woman who wanted nothing more than to separate both yet didn’t move a finger to show if she cared at all for his love. “That’s what people do when they love each other. You wouldn’t know
wouldn’t know anything about love. Or caring.”

fireredlilies:
Lily took a careful few steps towards Ted, looking over his many, many injuries as her heart sunk deep into her chest. She saw him not as he was in that moment, but as a child. Two eleven-year-olds, faced with a brand new world that they were told they didn’t belong in. They had each other before they had anybody else, and the bond that they had formed turned out to be stronger than steel.
She knew why he went and got himself hurt, and she had the notion that she’d have done the exact same thing. Lily had a motivation, deep down in her very soul, that forced her to stand up to the darkness that was engulfing them and save the next generation of muggleborns from going through the trials and tribulations that they had.
“I know,” she said, carefully taking one of his broken arms in hers so she could examine it. They were nasty breaks, but nothing that she hadn’t already seen in training. “Skele-Gro alone isn’t going to fix this, Ted. I’m not gonna lie, it’s gonna hurt like all hell when I set these.” She took a deep sigh, deciding to clean up his minor wounds first. She ran her wand over the gashes on his skin, mumbling healing spells as the skin began to close itself.
She took a second to look up at him after she was finished, even though the hardest part hadn’t even started. She looked right into his eyes, sitting on the bed across from him. His broken expression seemed to say everything, and Lily let the two sit in silence for a second. “I haven’t seen her, but I’m sure she’s here,” she said, her voice quiet. “They called in every healer for about 500 kilometers. It’s bad.” She didn’t want to bring up James, though, as she was sure that saying his name would cause her brain to abandon all focus, and she had to be there for the wounded.
Tumblr media
If anything Ted couldn’t care less about the hurt. His body already was a complete mess, nerves sending messages of pain each second and now it almost felt as if he couldn’t sense it - maybe given how long had it been since the pain began. Silently he let his mind slip to recent memories, helping Kingsley with the death eaters, crossing paths with Bellatrix, all of which led to here and then: his wounds worse than many, yet he was breathing, alive. Could they say the same about many others? Probably not. He’d seen if, bodies laying one by one, bleeding children whose help had to come fast and yet nobody arrived, he saw the torture, listened to the screams, took in each scene as layers and layers of hurt. It terrified him there were actual people behind those masks, and they enjoyed the fire, the ashes, the burning.
All he needed to know now was whether or not his friends were ok. His friends and Andromeda - that he needed most. Somehow, though, he didn’t focus all that much on it after seeing Lily, as if a small part of his mind could also see through her friend, or at least through the superficial mask
was it worry, what she showed? Even with all the bruises he didn’t need to think much: James. It made sense, didn’t it? The same way he was anxious about Andromeda, maybe Lily had no idea how James was, and the sudden understanding only hurt more
Ted didn’t know as well. He wanted to, wanted to tell Evans he was ok, alive too, not burning like many.. could he tell her that? Would it be a lie?
Closing his eyes, he whispered a quick, ineffective prayer, hoping not. It wasn’t just the fact that James was one of his closest friend, somebody he owed lots to, but also
he knew how much it would hurt to everybody. And then Ted thought of others, other friends, other people he cared for. He imagined them caught by the spells. Imagined the ashes. He shouldn’t be thinking anymore.
“Go ahead.” Weak, he let a smile fall to his lips. It couldn’t be more out of place, yet he needed to show Lily there was more to what happened than hurt. Only he didn’t know exactly what, couldn’t answer that. “How
for how long have you been working?” This time he didn’t stop for the tiredness, but for the pain. It wasn’t too bad, but it seemed to intensify it, enhance in the places where it was already tickling. The muggleborn reminded himself of the morning he practically stepped up into the flames, even though for a miracle nothing happened to his skin. If it weren’t for Kingsley, then maybe
maybe he wouldn’t be there to think of those moments, that history.
“Lily..” Saying her name helped keeping his mind awake, he needed that, couldn’t pass out now, not yet. He needed to say what he was meaning to, even if the knowledge that she didn’t know about Andromeda also hurt - not only did it feel like somebody was strangling and suffocating the air out of his body, but also made everything slow, almost as if stopping. He needed to know. “James will be fine. He.. he is strong. Better than us at duels and.. he wouldn’t ever not make it back to you.” Yet why did it feel he was also speaking about Andromeda? Letting their eyes cross again, he understood: one way or another, they were always speaking of both. James and Andromeda, two people they loved too much and
two people who needed to make it home. Safe.
Just like they had.

royalwithnocrown:
Kingsely felt so torn. As much as he wanted Ted there he needed to keep him safe to keep all of his friends safe. But he had no idea what was the better option. He knew Ted would just go back out the second he brought him to the safe point. But if he was the reason for anything happening to the boy he grew up with.
“I suggest you keep out of sight and run like everyone else.  “Well when you  pass your bloody auror test feel free to be right next to be but last time fighting dark wizards was my job Tonks.”    He hissed before eyeing him down. The ravenclaw thinking of every possible outcome like he always did. Sometimes there wasn’t time for that. It was terrible habit of his. He paused for a second. “You stay behind me. Watch my back. Stun only we don’t  bring ourselves to that. If I fall. You run. No questions no arguments. You run.  You get somewhere safe. You make it back to Andi. Promise me that.” He looked him the eyes. “I if I die that means I’m doing my job. If you die you’re leaving a family behind.” He heard more shouting and screaming.
‘Don’t make me regret this Ted.” He said putting hand to his shoulder. “When we step out there  it’s going to be messy. It’s going to scary. It’s something no amount of training can prepare you for and you don’t even have the luxury of that.  But you’re right. This is as much fight as it is mine. But I am going to keep you safe. You have a family.  You have life outside of this fight and I beg you to remember that.”
Tumblr media
Perhaps Kingsley had a pointed after all, perhaps in the middle of all things said, somehow, for some reason, the auror had found the one thing that made Ted’s heart jump with fear at the thought of fighting the damned wizards. The fact that he had a family, after all, that Andromeda was out there somewhere, maybe hurt and in fear and waiting for him, or not, maybe she was alright indeed, but wouldn’t be if he didn’t make it home that night. He needed to, otherwise
it would all be for nothing.
Yet it hurt too much, thinking there were people out there attacking muggleborns, even half blood themselves because for some stupid argument they didn’t ‘deserve’ to live among the ones with pureblood. It was hatred what Ted felt now, at the fact that some were hurt, some had died, all for prejudice. He needed to do something
needed to. And even though it hurt too much, he hoped if something happened to him, Andromeda would understand his struggle - understand why he sacrificed everything for the chance of winning the battle with some behind the fire.
“I’m not gonna make you regret this.” Ted let him know, as if it was the more normal thing and not a doubt in the back of his mind. He hadn’t been trained after all, not like Kingsley, but on the other hand
Ted was more than trained at fighting people who shouted how dirty his blood - and of others - was. Life had made him the wizard he was today, not the official training for aurors; and somehow it seemed to be just as worthy.
“We get inside and get some bad people at the ground and arrest them, right? Shouldn’t be too difficult.” He showed him a smile, even between the pain and the hurt somebody now, with the adrenaline and the perspective that yes, they were about to actually fight, it didn’t hurt too bad. It didn’t even hurt at all, but it would later. “Let’s do this.” One step, another, they were inside - perhaps for their death, perhaps not. Silently he hoped for the second, but his prayers were short, for they had a fight to win and no time to think about it.

hollyharpies-jones:
“What a heck? Are you thinking that I’m a monkey?” She looked up with an ugly face, typical of Gwen when she was losing. She was thinking of pulling him down and in the end, he was already on the other side. FREAK! In the end, she just had to laugh and tried to follow as fast as she could. Before she even climbed another inch from the top, Gwen pulled her body up. With the push, she used her abs and the force of a beater’s arms, holding her hip in the air and ending the jump with a gentle twist. When her feet found the ground, she straightened her hair and smiled at him defiantly. “I love you too, Ted. But I’m still better than you, your little monkey.” She slammed his left arm hard and began to walk thinking about how she would recover her pride after this.
“I hope you’re thinking of taking me to the Ferris wheel because if it is not, you’re going to die and
” The air was lost as Gwen saw the lights and the music playing in the amusement park. The captain managed to contemplate the place and admire the beauty surrounded by electricity and completely new colored lights. However, what caught her attention was that people didn’t stop them, or shout for the name Jones, neither comments on the Harpies. And she could not help but laugh at the discovery and she liked the idea of coming there for the first time. “Ted, when was the last time we walked around together without someone shouting for my name?” She looked at him, slowly with an amused smile on her lips.
Tumblr media
Ted chuckled at her words, waiting for the moment Gwen would be at the same level as he was, deciding maybe it was best not to help her - he wasn’t sure how his chances were, or if she would just pull him down as soon as he gave her a hand. “I’ll let you try!” He offered, still laughing, not really feeling like there was much to be proud of, rather happy to think they were there instead of a small competition. There is, because every time he and Gwen tried going out to catch up or whatever, a bunch wizards showed up seemly randomly to see and talk to her, meaning they never actually had a nice time without people (unless of course they were alone, which Ted didn’t mind, but he saw how frustrated Gwen got).
“Tell nobody, but I do have to make an effort to always act as a gentleman.” He couldn’t hide his own amusement at the last question. “Told you! I’ve been thinking of bringing you here for ages now. I’m glad you finally found some time to your friend. And yes, I’m pretending it doesn’t hurt, that you don’t have so much time for me.” Cleaning a fake tear, he pressed his lips together as if in sadness and disappointment. Soon though he was laughing. “Of course I’m gonna take you to the rides, Gwen. And I’ll let you scream, instead of having other people yelling your name. Trust me, it’s gonna be a hell of a change.” Beaming, he pointed at a roller coaster, the wildest one. “Think you’re up to the challenge?”

siriuslya-black:
Sirius laughed at Ted, putting his wand away and surrendering with his hands in the air. “Sorry, bad habit. To be fair, I’ve got really really good pants on and I can’t get these damaged climbing fences.” Pitiful excuse, but these were his pulling pants. He got the ladies and gents with these bad boys on. They couldn’t get damaged.
Turning to the fish, Sirius eyed them with suspicion. Maybe they could rescue the fish from the muggles? Put them back in the water where they belonged, or in a potions pot, as they were used quite a lot in the wizarding world. He eyed Ted, not sure if this was another prank or not. “What do they do? How do you play with a fish?” Sirius asked. Even Toads had their uses, they could move and you could hold them. What did you do with a goldfish? Stroke them.
“Wow,“ Sirius said, turning on the spot to take in all the rides. “Can we go on the roller coaster after?“ He looked at Ted, beaming with excitement. “It looks wicked, does it fly?“ Muggles were so clever, all this and no magic at all! They made all this stuff with their hands. Sirius looked towards the Ferris wheel, excited. “What do we do with that Ferret wheel? Do we climb from basket to basket? That seems a little dangerous without magic. Lets do it.“
Tumblr media
Ted had enough of good sense not to laugh at Sirius’s question, perhaps he wasn’t too wrong at trying to get the fishes back to the water but it did sound rather odd, given how used he - as a muggleborn - and all others with no magic were to keeping these animals as pets. “I’m not sure? Never had one. Maybe kids are interested in watching them swim. Whatever it is, it’s worked, because a lot of them has had a kid somewhen.” Actually, he thought it might be best not to tell Sirius he had had a fish once, only it died in about a week. Just one of his few months at childhood in which he gained a little bit of responsibility - more for the guilt than anything else.
“Of course! To everything. Don’t be so sirius, Black, you’re here to have fun.” Smiling wickedly, he let his friend understand on his own time the completely bad and definitely intended pun, taking his time also to look around and decide where would be nice first. “You can climb basket to basket, sure. I’ll make sure to show everybody your head once it’s out of your body, but rest still that I’m not going to stop you.” And with a tilt of his head, he told him to come along. “What we do, since we’re not wizards neither animals” more like one was, anyways “is go through that door over there and wait until a basket is on the grounds level. You have to be fast enough to enter before it goes up, but this doesn't spin fast so it’s alright. Now, if you want a little bit of adrenaline
I’m not sure if anybody will ever fly in a roller coaster without having to fight for the life, but it does give you the thrill.”
‘Oh, wait
you are serious. Fine, we can do that later.” Not hiding a grin his time, he let his friend know the idea was alright. They were wizards anyway, whatever. “I think this park closes in less than thirty minutes. Until then
we have an appointment with the roller coaster.” With a bigger smile, even more fun this time, he brought Black to those beauties. They would have fun during the half an hour, especially since he’d stolen a fast pass card for both. “And don’t ask where those came from.”

“Ted!” The Black sister near had a heart attack when her fiancee jumped out from his hiding place and she swatting him lightly as she tried to stave off the rising anxiety from getting a fright. “You are lucky you are extremely handsome Mr Tonks. Otherwise you would be experiencing a Bat Bogey Hex right now.” Her tone was almost breathless and she resisted the urge to swat him against for good measure, but wrapped her arms around his middle, her cheek resting against his chest instead.
Andromeda had missed him, with the rough evening she’d had after bumping into Regulus, she just really needed a hug from the one person she loved the most. “I bumped into Regulus while out.earlier, he was very unwell Edward, it was terrifying to see him so sick.” she neglected to mention the name calling, the calling her selfish for wanting a life with Ted. Regulus had apologized after all and she could accept that.
“The luckiest indeed.” Still grinning, Ted didn’t fight the urge to let his hands move forward, securing them on her waist before she could even come forward, still very much enchanted by the sight of Andromeda. It amazed him indeed how much they had been through, the things they’d done together, how much they grew up since their first meeting in Hogwarts, when neither could imagine a scenario in which they would be friends; yet here they were. He thought about closing his eyes, taking in the moment by feeling the warmth of her body against his, the way her hands clutched to him, the protectiveness which only intensified every time she did that, but
something was off. Not necessarily wrong, just off. He couldn’t tell why, not at the moment, and his thoughts made it harder to focus.
Somehow she answered before he could ask though. This time he wasn’t grinning anymore, just traces of a smile on his lips, as he softly pressed them against her hair - the messy knots showing she’d rushed there, probably. And when he heard the words, when his hands held her even more passionately, he took in the news which made his heart pump faster, more painfully. Regulus. Closing his eyes, he thought about the many moments in which they discussed her family, and the even more moments when they laid silently, pressed bodies and quiet signs of understanding showing how much he cared. This never changed, not his worries neither how much he wanted things to be unlike they were. Yet they never would.
“Shh
you’re here now.” Ever so slowly, he allowed the embrace to turn into force, took her body with his in the direction of the tree, and let them both rest there, nature itself securing both. “Tell me about it.” Whispering, he played with a strand of her hair, let it fall to her cheek as he got just a bit far away from her. Even the distance made it hurt more, but he needed to look at her, needed to know how bad it was. “Regulus is a strong young man, my love. He will be fine
 what did you see?”
