once, as a child, i was eating a ton of laffy taffy, and i wondered why it was called laffy taffy (i didn't know jokes were written on the wrapper).

moments later, i burst into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. after it subsided, my child brain decided THAT was why it was called laffy taffy, and i held that belief for years.

in retrospect, i definitely ate about 40 of them in one sitting, so the laughter was probably from the fuckton of sugar flowing through my veins.
