I feel like people don’t really mention that Batman’s (and the justice leagues) morals are built on privilege. Or at least two big ones off the top of my head.

1. No stealing from gangs. Batman doesn’t need to take money from others he has 7 figures in his bank account. And people with invincibility can hold down jobs because they don’t take sick days off from injuries. Like. Bit weird man.

2. No killing. Because let’s be real. When inmates escape Arkham Bruce behind his million dollar security doesn’t have to worry really. But dc always emphasises how buildings in Gotham main are falling apart. Like no roofs- no windows kinda thing. Like- it’s civilians who die. But like added to that is the invincibility (or super powers in general) like no powered hero will die as collateral because the specifics needed to kill them only get brought out when they know it’s them.

And this is entirely not based on me wanting more interesting takes on morals than just ‘crimes bad because big men in suits say so’.
