Look, I can understand where people are coming from when they criticize the portryal of the female characters in Helluva Boss.
But extending that same criticism to Hazbin Hotel is where I draw the fucking line.
Hazbin literally has a female protagonist with her own independant goal, who has to work hard for it because people constantly belittle her ideas and beliefs, and eventually gets proven right when it works in the end. Charlie tried to do what was thought impossible, and accomplished it when Sir Pentious gets ascended to heaven. Her love interest has her own backstory before meeting Charlie, where she used to work for the same exorcists who are responsible for nearly driving Charlie's people to extinction and almost making her fail to redeem anyone at the hotel. Vaggie kept this a secret from Charlie since they met, and Charlie feels betrayed by Vaggie to the point of not feeling like she should trust her anymore until it gets resolved. Vaggie has more characterizarion in season 1 of Hazbin alone than Millie does in the entirety of Helluva Boss pre-Hell's Belle's.
Lute is one of the main antagonists. She contributed just as much to the genocide as Adam did, is openly bigoted like Adam, has more common sense than Adam, is the only exorcist with a name, is just as much of a threat to the hotel as Adam is and most of all she survives while he doesn't. Sera approved of the genocide, but felt guilty about it because Adam would've probably killed her or something, which Emily calls her out on regardless. Speaking of Emily, she joins Charlie in on calling heaven out for their hypocrisy and literally says she detests being treated like a child.
Velvette is no less evil than the other two Vees. She sells love potions (aka date rape drugs) and treats her employees cruelly just like they do. She also disrepected the other overlords without giving two shits. Carmilla wasn't having any of Velvette's BS, is protective of Zestial, literally killed an exorcist (despite angels being much more powerful than demons, so that's pretty impressive on it's own) to protect her daughters and figured out that Vaggie was a fallen angel just by knowing what her choice of weapon was. She encouraged Vaggie to fight for the whole hotel, not just for Charlie. Cherri Bomb has an interesting rivalry with Sir Pentious in the pilot that eventually grows into a healthy relationship, and she goes against Valentino just to help and comfort Angel Dust in the Addict music video. Sadly she doesn't do much after that, but at least she got to participate in fighting for the hotel in The Show Must Go On, so it's better than nothing I suppose.
Rosie is one of the few people who Alastor has a genuine friendship with. She played a big part in Charlie trying to give a speech to Cannibal Town, and encouraged her to trust Vaggie again. Mimzy, while I dislike her, is the whole reason why the plot of Dad Beat Dad even happened. She tried to use her friendship with Alastor to get herself out of trouble, so the episode techically wouldn't of happened without her. It's also telling that Alastor didn't eat her or try to kill her for screwing things up, since he's done just that to others for much less. Even Niffty, who's mostly just there for comic relief, is another character who Alastor gets along with. He may own her soul, but he's a lot nicer to her than he is to Husk, who he keeps on a chain and abuses in a not-so-different way that Valentino does to Angel Dust, only without SA involved. Niffty is also the one who kills Adam in the end, so there you go.
That's a BUNCH more than what can be said for most of the ladies in Helluva. (Most of whom I also like, but their writing really does leave something to be desired, though it does seem to be slightly improving with the Hell's Belles short and the promise of a Millie focused episode in Ghostfuckers.) For the record I don't think the writing for the female characters in HH is perfect by any means, but it's a far cry from being anywhere near as bad as HB like many antis claim it is. I think they just say that shit because HB takes place in the same universe as Hazbin and both shows were created by the same person, (aka the guilt by association fallacy) or they just think Vivzie can't do anything right no matter what she does.

Vivienne Medrano is a much stronger person than I am. If I were her, I probably would've committed suicide by now from all the harassment from antis and people accusing me of every crime in the book because I made a show they didn't like and/or drew questionable art over a decade ago that i've already apologized for.

Ok, so the Octavia discourse has been getting on my nerves lately. You guys forgot that she's still a minor. She's still oblivious to Stella's abuse of Stolas, she still believes that her parents marriage was healthy before the affair, and she still doesn't trust Blitz酶. Remember that both Stolas and Stella kept the true nature of their marriage a scret from Via for years. Stolas did it to keep Via safe and Stella did to lower suspicion. Yes, Stolas did tell her that he'd never abandon her in favor of Blitz酶. Yes, Loona told her that dads make mistakes sometimes and that doesn't make them any less caring. But Via is still doubting it because teenagers have a tendency to believe that their parents don't even when proven otherwise. They tend to say things they don't mean. For the record, the rest of season 2 isn't even out yet. The trailer could've taken that clip entirely out of context for all we know. It's possible that Stella and Andrealphus are manipulating Via and trying to turn her against Stolas. It wouldn't surprise me, Stella barely even remembers that her daughter exists unless it's convenient for her and Andre doesn't seem to care about her beyond her inheritence of the throne if Stolas dies.

Thanks for saying this. I'm sick of people saying "Oh Charlie is a bad protagonist! She's boring and lacks depth!" just because she isn't a quirky potty mouth like every other character on the show or because she doesn't have some tragic backstory. She still has problems, just because they aren't as obvious like someone such as Angel Dust or Blitz酶 that doesn't mean they aren't there.
What's good about Charlie is that her character concept isn't seen all that often these days. Most modern female leads in the late 2010s/early 2020s are either abrasive misandrists who solve every problem with their fists or blank slate Mary Sues who are basically walking wish fulfillment. Charlie is neither. She still struggles with her goal and is constantly made fun of for believing in her dreams, even the few people who care about her still doubt her idea that a redemption hotel is going to work. Both of her parents barely kept in touch with her for YEARS just because one of them was depressed over his divorce and the other was on vacation somewhere. She also doesn't need to be rude about her desire to redeem sinners or pick fights with them to get her way like most third wave feminazi "I may be a woman but I can do anything a man can do" modern day heroines would do in her situation.
As for the people saying she won't change or grow as a character, give her time. We've only had a pilot, a music video, two short webcomic spinoffs and 1 season with just 8 episodes, three of which aren't even about her. Just because you're too busy obsessing over Alastor, Angel Dust, Lucifer or Vox that doesn't mean the show writers don't care about her or that she isn't fleshed out. She's the protagonist for a reason.

Check out this great video from Diregentleman - the guy who made the Helluva Boss video I posted a while back - where he analyzes Angel鈥檚 character and makes the case that he would make a better main character than Charlie.

As much as I enjoyed seeing the Stolitz duet for the first time I could barely hear what Blitz酶 or Stolas were saying because of all the screaming. Give me the full moon episode already so I could actually HEAR THEM SING IN PEACE.

I legit can't understand how people can watch Helluva Boss this far into season 2 and still insist on hating Blitz酶. Like, if you hated his guts since the pilot, what the fuck stopped you from giving up on the show years ago when it was just a couple of months old? You know that as the main character of this show, he's not gonna go away any time soon, right?

OMG, I just watched the new trailer for Helluva Boss season 2 and i'm so hyped! I can't wait for Stolas and Blitz酶 to confess to each other. We're gonna see Millie in the spotlight again! Is Octavia being manipulated by Stella and Andre or something? Is that four eyed demon shadow supposed to be Satan? I'm waiting for Blitz酶 and Verosika to finally start getting along again. I just can't wait for the new episodes to come out!

I love the new Helluva Boss short! THIS is the first Millie-centric episode we've ever got. Not the shit pile that was Unhappy Campers. And Sallie May is back! Sister bonding, hell yeah!

Notice how some of the angels in Hazbin Hotel have grey skin and white hair. Carmilla also has grey skin and white hair. Her clothes have somewhat similar colors to Lute's outfit. She knows about angelic weapons. She's strong enough to fight an angel exorcist (a species much stronger than demons in the Hellaverse) and win. She has children despite the fact that sinners can't reproduce once they go to hell.
In conclusion : Carmilla is a fallen angel?

Carmilla is super underrated as a character. She fought an angel exorcist (a species much more powerful than she is) to protect her daughters and KILLED IT with her bare hands, didn't take shit from Velvette talking smack about the other overlords and encouraged Vaggie to protect the Hotel from Adam and Lute with just a short song. She honestly needs more screentime, i'd love to see more of this badass lady.

You know, it disturbs me to see how many people are victim blaming Husk when Alastor threatens him. "He shouldn't have gotten sarcastic with him" Oh, so a death threat is an appropriate response to someone being slightly rude? Imagine if someone tried to victim blame Angel Dust like this and defending Valentino because he talked back to him.
News flash : just because Alastor isn't a rapist like Valentino that doesn't make his treatment of Husk ok. He still treats him like a slave. He still has him on a leash. He still emotionally abuses him.
