hi! I have a slipped disc and a gnarly throat infection so I basically missed... all of march and then some? yeah.

ah la vida. 2024 has not been good for... anybody. in the world or just in general huh. I really hope things balance out soon out and we all get more good than all this bad.

I'm in my feels because I just watched:

since I saw gifs and videos of Andy and Pete hugging Patrick and he looked upset/overcome. having the context now, I cried with him.

I'm an easy crier. I didn't used to be - I used to be cool and unfeeling - fucking age.

it made me sad, Andy's hug especially. it was so touching.

it also made me sad because it made me think of Sarah or @completemachine . I still miss her so much. fob was such a big part of our friendship. fuck it's even how we became friends (it was either on the anon_lovefest kinkmeme or icecreamhdaches lj... lol).

I genuinely feel like the day she died, a part of the fandom and our friendship circle did too. at least our little corner of it did.

she was such a light in this fandom, ya'll don't even know. anyone who knew her felt like they were her best friend. seriously, we all thought we were the closest one with Sarah. she was just good at making you feel that way. I met so many friends in the fandom through her.

and it kills me that she died during their hiatus. she never got to see them reunite, she never got save rock and roll or ab/ap or mania or smfsd or the full version of Lake effect kid.

she would have loved all of it so fucking much. she was a diehard to the end. more than anyone I knew.

it's been 14 years, but I'll never forget Sarah. thank you boys, for making her a part of my history, and for still being here.

oh, here's a sexy little tip for all my ao3 desperados! if you have access to any ao3 fic links via external bookmarks (like pinboard) or rec lists, wherever, you just need the actual url of the fic – you can paste the url of that fic into the wayback machine and access it that way.

this won’t really work if the fic is site locked, but if it's public it works a treat ✨️

FYI I had blue hair first for about 2 years before going purple! I always bleached and coloured my hair myself at home but I don't have to bleach as much nowadays because of grays hahaha 💀

Once you get to my age, you're occasionally prone to reminiscing the 'good old days' (or, maybe sometimes just the 'old days'). This week I discovered that a dear friend from LJ/DW days, @justtothesea, is still (or again) into bandom fandom and it made me so happy! I dug through my memory box as I knew I kept the letters and I found the celebratory "the hiatus is over" letter 💜
