bold of 90% of you to assume will solace can’t fight. like he hasn’t been through several wars and isn’t a year-rounder at a camp that’s made to literally train demi-gods for YEARS. hello???

It annoys me when people complain about “all the characters in Heartstopper are queer hurghhh” because… no they’re not. The cishets are just in the background. We see cis straight couples everywhere in Heartstopper, they’re just not main characters. The only (canonically) cishet person we really follow narratively is Tao, but cishets are everywhere in the series. They’re just not the focus. Besides, all the queers conglomerating (by accident and on purpose) is extremely realistic… as any queer person can tell you.
Heartstopper centers queerness, which people find strange because they’re used to media that centers cisheteronormativity. The series just orbits around queerness. But it most definitely does not erase cishets- they’re simply not the focus. Like queerness is in every other series.

this has been annoying the absolute shit out of me, and people keeping talking about it, so lets talk about it: Nick Nelson reitirating that he is Bisexual is a necessity. It is literally him correcting people on HIS sexuality because others keep stating he is gay because he's in a relationship with someone of the same gender. It's not "cringe", it's not "stupid", its necessary. When you are part of the LGBTQ+ community you literally do not ever stop coming out. This is especially true in situations like Nick's - everyone automatically assumes that he is gay because he's with Charlie; he goes no, I'm Bi actually - because he is.
It'd be like someone assuming you were straight because you were with someone of the opposite gender, or gay/lesbian because you were with someone of the same gender.
He quite literally does not get to stop coming out, because other people are making assumptions and he is correcting those assumptions.
Say you're biphobic and fuck off.

so we’re all familiar with the little animations that happen during important romantic scenes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but let’s talk about Issac. Issac spends most of the season confused about his sexuality and feeling that something is wrong with him.
Tumblr media
When he discovers asexuality at the art school, he gets the leaf animation we’re used to seeing for the couples. When the art about crush culture is being explained to him, Issac can see that the artist is proud of being asexual; eager to explain his identity to a stranger viewing his piece. He is overwhelmed with the fact that he not only isn’t broken, but that his sexuality is something someone could be so proud of having.
The leaves still represent love, but instead of romantic love, it’s self love.

Watching the Red White and Royal Blue movie and god it is just so refreshing to have two adult men fall in love and have the stereotypically fairy tale romantic affair like a politically charged hallmark movie
Like absolutely nothing against teen queer coming of age stories, I adore them and they’re so important but it’s just so nice to have adults falling in love, adults with plans and motivations but still figuring things out a little, real actual adults with hobbies and passions and accomplishments, getting to just be queer and in love and they are the main characters within their own lives
And they’re in a rom-com, a full on rom-com with the cheesiness and the drama and the sweet, fluffy romance where everything is resolved in the end and it’s queer. It never shies away from the queerness, they make out, they have sex, they gaze lovingly into each other’s eyes, they make silly jokes and get to adore each other
It’s so refreshing, it’s so nice to have this type of story, this story for the adult queers, a comfort film like to Mamma Mia, that’s full of heart and enjoyment and fun, with queerness at the forefront

You don't have to identify with the concept of a romantic or sexual orientation (both or either), if you don't want to. You only have to define what you want about your romantic and sexual identity.

We don't get enough wholesome queer movies, sure, we have a few queer movies like "love, Simon", "call me by your name" and all or movies like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "The Imitation Game" which are biopics of actual queer people but HOW MANY OF THEM ARE WHOLESOME??? NONE.
All we get is pain and trauma which is the actual portrayal of the struggle of coming out and just being queer. Movies with just cute little scenes, holding hands, kissing, being silly and intimate, we deserve such movies too. And we are finally getting them.
Heartstopper and rwrb are so wholesome and im not gonna shut up about it. My silly little gay heart can't handle the joy I get from these.

going through the tag was so much fun before the movie dropped, now i get annoyed at every other post i see. the expectations some of you had for this movie? unfathomable to me. imagine if they had included june and rafael and leo and all the plot points you cry about not making the final cut and think about the scenes they would have had to delete to make room for all of that. idk about y'all but i rather have them focus on the love story and make the most of that instead of taking bits and pieces from every other storyline without fleshing out any of them. would it have made a great tv show? YES. did we get a tv show? no, we got a movie and a damn good one at that. if you miss june or "cornbread knows my sins, henry" that's valid but how about you just read the book again? it isn't gone just because the movie came out. read the book, love the book and simply view the movie as additional content instead of a replacement of the source material, it's not that hard.

Hyperfixations on a certain fandom are so bad, because the void it leaves as soon as it’s over and you slowly realise that all of that is just fictional… ouch.

Okay but has anyone else noticed that Percy probably is 18 now or atleast nearly, canonically? Because in Heroes of Olympus he was 17 and the last Trials of Apollo book sets place in spring (maybe a bit later) a year after Heroes of Olympus 5. And The Sun and the Star which plays after ToA 5 I think sets place around end of summer/ autumn, this means August’s probably over by then and Percy’s 18…

Thank you, someone needed to say that.
read tsats and while i did find the pace weird and some part cringy i really do not understand where all this hate is coming from. of course, opinions, but damn
the way y'all are depicting will is just wrong to me, i'm sorry. how do you expect a child of the sun to react to a WEEK in Tartarus? plus, will was never mentioned to be a fighter other thay that One scene in HOO where leo saw him carrying him a bow – his purpose was always to be a healer.
i saw some people saying that he was always depicted as chill and stuff so it doesn't make sense for him to panic this much. WHAT DO YOU MEAN ??? I AM SO SORRY WHAT DO YOU MEAN. HE'S LITERALLY IN TARTARUS ??? FACE TO FACE WITH HIS INSECURITIES AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT do you expect him to be "it is what it is ig :)"
and of course he doesn't fully understand the darkness the underworld brings, sadly death and the dark will always be depicted as something bad and to avoid – hell, will's a healer and it's his job to avoid death in general !! and this is why i loved his interaction with Persephone cause if anyone could understand him it's her. and talking to her definitely helped his point of view
and about nico as well i am Glad we got to see a more genuine side of him, he's still the nico i remember but we could see how "lighter" he acts, how goofy he could be and sarcastic and honestly? good for him. i am so very happy he got what he deserved: a happy ending and the realisation that there are so many people who love him
this is a queer book for queer teens and seeing will and nico go through VERY real relationship issues and support each other, lash out at each other, communicating through it all is a win to me ngl

Just for the record, I do think polygamy (i.e. marriages between more than two people) should be legal. If a group of consenting adults want to get married they should be able to do so, no matter how many members that group has.
"What about [example of an extremely unhealthy poly relationship]?" What about it? Do you think all monogamous relationships are healthy?
