I like the fanon that Shinsou got muzzled when he was a kid because of his quirk/being an abusive situation, but it’s always somewhat interesting to me to see how when this gets brought up in fanfiction, it’s treated as a horrible, obviously abusive act by Aizawa/UA/Class 1-A.

Like, it is, but uh, we’ve canonically had a child muzzled against his will on national TV, by UA. He didn’t even have a quirk related to speaking, he was just trying to say ‘no’, and that was considered an acceptable reason to muzzle him. UA never even apologized to him for what happened. They apologized to the public to save face after he got kidnapped, but not to him.

UA has already proven it has no issue with muzzling children who don’t obey them. Whose to say that Shinsou would get treated any differently? Or at the very least, what reason would Shinsou have to assume that what happened to him in his childhood was wrong, or that UA wouldn’t do the same or worse to him if he acted up?
