All I gotta say is there aren’t nearly enough fics, that involve the lawsuit, that have Bobby or Eddie actually apologizing to Buck, it’s always either swept under the rug or have Buck apologize…and like…why? Buck was in the right to sue…sure he could’ve done slightly differently and more with his head on his shoulders about it…and um I’m sorry if my best friend called me exhausting??? That would be a phrase in my inner dialogue for the end of time. I understand that Eddie was going through a lot at the time but so was everyone else, so was Buck.

One thing I've not seen yet in discussions of Kipperlilly's reasons for hating Riz is how much it parallels the feelings of people born into priviledged majorities about 'diversity hiring'.

The way she thinks that having a tragic backstory makes you a better adventurer, when all it really does is hurt you, is exactly the way I've seen white cishet people complain that being in a minority gets you priority for job offers/grants.

The idea that having pain in your past from discrimination or trauma is worth it because you get 'more opportunities' in the working world from being a POC or LGBTQ+ or disabled is a genuine belief that some priviledged people hold. And to me that really mirrors Copperbitch Kipperbottle's jealousy of Riz both having a dead father and ESPECIALLY coming from a poor background.

kipperlilly being so jealous of riz for his traumatic backstory and claiming it gives him an unfair advantage when in reality riz's entire arc this season has been about how he has to be 10 times better than everyone else if he even wants a chance to go to college because he is so poor. doesn't matter that he already saved the world multiple times. lol.

Eddie would totally be obsessed with his height difference with Buck. He'd make Buck grab this from the highest shelf even though he can reach it himself because he's not short at all. But he just likes the reminder that Buck is taller than him. He loves having to angle his head up and often makes Buck sit on the counter so that Buck is even higher than him when they kiss.

He loves it when Buck hugs him from behind in front of a mirror and he can see how perfectly Buck can place his head on Eddie’s shoulder. En he loooveees it when Buck kisses his forehead or temple easily.

What do you MEAN this was our first actual introduction to Marisol and her relationship with eddie??? What do you mean we've know her five minutes and eddie is moving her in while Chris is away???

What the fuck was this 😭😭😭

What I wanna know is how do they expect us to take Eddie's relationship with Marisol seriously when we know nothing about her and they have taken absolutely zero steps to help us know her or set up Eddie's relationship with her? In the clips we got of her, we didn't even actually get introduced to her. If you'd never seen the show before, context clues is how you figure out that's marisol because Eddie mentioned chaperoning Chris' date with her, cause otherwise, she could have been anyone.

Hell, the clips we got of her are in a flashback in a buddie focused scene where Eddie essentially hands the co-parenting stick off to Buck.

In an episode centered around relationships, and all the other canon romantic couples getting romantic sub-plots (with the exception of Hen who seems like she will be next weeks focus), and they focus on Buck and Eddie when we the audience, even the ones who have watched all 6 seasons, barely know the woman Eddie is in a romantic relationship with because there's been no real character established for her outside of "Eddie's love interest".

ESPECIALLY WHEN R*AN SAID IN AN INTERVIEW TIMMY BOY DID AN INCREDIBLE JOB INTRODUCING HER BEVAUSE IS THAT INTRODUCION IN THE ROOM WITH US??

here's the thing: I don't think Riz knows that he's aroace.

he definitely knows that he doesn't want to date or have crushes or kiss, and he's probably heard aro and ace both in passing. he might even know exactly what they mean. but he hasn't made the connection that they apply to him.

like, for all his investigating and intelligence, he's really bad at feelings and explaining himself. riz is smart but he's not very self aware and I think if he could answer "why don't you want to get your kisses?" he would.

Can Team Tuck and Team Buddie please agree that both can exist and serve as positive spaces for queer male representation?

I've been thinking. Let me run something by you.

Oliver says he has always felt Buck was a bi-coded character? Right?

Does that mean when TK thought Buck was hitting on him, he was?

If Buck was always bi, but just didn't know it, are we supposed to believe he never flirted with Eddie just because his first kiss was with Tommy?

Was Tommy his bi awakening or was Tommy the embodiment of the attractive traits he has seen in a man he's been falling for over five seasons?

You can like or even love multiple people. Even at the same time! 😮

Believing that Buddie is or should be the endgame does not negate or disrespect Buck's arc with Tommy in any way. I question if Tommy was just a convenient character. He's a safe guy to explore Buck's evolution with. He has a history with members of the 118, but he is not integral to the cast. If it doesn't work out, he is easily explained away. Remember Natalia?

I think it is possible to have a Buck and Tommy centered arc, focused on Buck becoming comfortable with his sexuality and exploring it in a healthy, positive way and still have Buck and Eddie eventually realize they have been each other's person for years. Having both doesn't make the other any less important. How many people have dated others when their eventual life partner was right there? They had no idea they saw that person in that way.

Now that we know Buck is bi, it could lead to different interpretations of scenes:

Buck is looking at Eddie. Tommy is not there and we don't know for sure who Eddie was speaking to.

2. Look at that smile and his eyes at the end. Buck positively beams and bats his eyes when he realizes Eddie is going to look at him. That's how platonic friends look at each other?

3. But we can take it all the way back if we have to. Look at Buck when Eddie compliments him.

3b. Do you know what that reminds me of?

4. If Buck has subconciously been into guys for a long time, then this scene takes on a whole new context.

Moving closer to the other man? Check.

Eye contact? Check?

Smile and shy head duck? Check.

*I'd like to state that I have no doubt Edmundo Diaz knew Buck was into him. Look at the reaction.

5. When I'm into someone, you know what I don't talk about? Someone else.

6. Wow. Look at how Buck looks at Tommy.

6b. We have never seen that before have we?

Buck x Tommy and Buck x Eddie can coexist in harmony. Life stories are long and have jumpscares, plot twists, plot holes, etc.

Buck being genuinely attracted to Tommy doesn't mean that all the scenes from the past five seasons that made us all side-eye Evan Buckley didn't happen.

If we never get Buddie, let's just take the win. ABC said, "There are queer men in the world who are masculine, hot, and relatively stable. Let's show that."

Do we really need to talk about how the LGBTQ community was represented on their former network? I could stand on that soapbox and go off for days. Let's just say I know others who also felt some way about it, whether they were straight, queer, or allies.

I am just going to enjoy what is shaping up to be an amazing season. Moving to ABC breathed new life into 911 and I am excited. (Season six? Can we just not talk about it?)

Musing on Buck's first date

I would very much like it if Eddie doesn't clock that it's a date between Buck and Tommy at all - but MARISOL does. She gets him away to leave them to their date in peace and tells Eddie later what was going on and them BOOM we finally get jealous Eddie.

Gotta get some use out of that character...

To the people being annoying about the people who are happy with Buck kissing Tommy because it's "betraying buddie":

Have you no sense of fucking storytelling??? One would think someone that is active in fandom would at some point absorb some type of knowledge about how fiction works. Do you understand what long format is? Are you aware stories would be a sentence long if things were resolved immediately? Have you considered this is a TV Show, and storylines need conflict to be interesting?

Even IF we don't get Buddie, that does not diminish the fact that we got a Bisexual Male character on a popular TV Show, and we have good reason to believe they are treating this arc well. Getting Bi Buck is honestly really important for a lot of people, me included, so yeah I'm elated about it.

But if we DO GET Buddie, do you understand this plot is actually compelling? Are you so boring you can't enjoy a little jelousy, a little "oh why do I feel like this", a little slow burn????

Are you a puritan that thinks they should only sleep with each other? Cause this reminds me of a statement from a Spirk shipper to Henry Jenkins' book (Textual Poachers) where she basically says "They are not gay, they just love each other and want to fuck". Just say you don't care about a queer story line and want to watch two specific hot man kissing on your screen.

And last, if you don't like it...... LET PEOPLE ENJOY THINGS REGARDLESS. Just stop dude, go to AO3 idk.

It baffles me that people cannot understand how storytelling works and make it everyone's problem.

I know a lot of the Buddie shippers can’t stand the idea of Buck/Tommy but LISTEN

To have Buddie you HAVE to have Buck figuring out who he is as an individual and to get through his identity crisis and explore. There’s a part of him that might not even realize yet that EDDIE is who he wants and not Tommy.

His relationship with Tommy is paving the way for a healthy Buddie relationship without all the internalized homophobia and spiraling.

So let’s all say thank you Tommy for kissing Buck and move on
