If there was another food wars anime, I would love to see an anime centered on Kojiro Shinomiya and Megumi Tadokoro! They're my favorites. We had so little of their interactions in the anime, but when we did, it was great.

I'd love it to be an exploration of their cuisine from their roots, such as dishes from the Hokkaido region, Kyushu region. They explore their backgrounds and family and even come up with more fusion dishes. Additionally, we can explore cuisine on other parts of the world, even other parts of France. (While Shokugeki did have Megumi travel all over the world, they made it a short segment, and they didn't do any justice to the cuisines and cultures that were being explored.) A lot of the dishes would focus on affordable but delicious food and using what resourced are there. Also, because I loved his dynamic with Shinomiya, Albert Leroy should come back (from Letoile). It would totally be a shojou that's slice of life and comedy!

Food Wars is officially over and I can finally move on AT LAST

I hate this series with all my heart

I hate how it started so good and got me hooked from the start

I hate how I was invested for the three months I was catching up don’t start manga in the middle of a semester

I hate how hyped I was for the end of the Regiment de Cuisine and everything that followed

I hate the concept of the Noir Chefs

I hate Asahi

I hate what Erina ended up becoming

I hate that she’s going to end with Souma anyway even though he deserves better

I hate how Souma had to be in everything

I hate how they treated Tsukasa and Megumi

I hate that more deserving chefs weren’t at Blue but Souma, Megumi and Takumi were I mean Alice, Ryo, Hayama, Shinomiya, Isshiki, Rindou etc

I hate how the whole mezzaluna thing was resolved

I hate Blue

I hate Mana

I hate Erina she’s officially the worst Jump manga heroine I’ve ever read

But most importantly I hate that this series has so many good things and that it had the potential to be a masterpiece, just for it to throw it away when the last arc turned into a telenovela

I just hope the epilogue can give me something better than this :v

Sou×taku is really cute in the sense that Takumi already plays perfectly as the story's blonde tsundere—as well as Souma's rival. He's not too harsh to the point that it feels uncalled for and his character development is genuine. It's also funny to have Takumi go unnoticed at first, but really prove himself onward.

The Central Arc had cool parts, yes. However, the narrative overall fell apart when everyone thought Azami was ultimately the big bad villain and the Azami rule was a "bad administration". Though exaggerated it's clear Totsuki is a terrible administration from the start even without Azami in the picture.

The previous administration was just as bad, because then made it evident that there's room for mistakes, regardless of someone's potential. That should've been very clear of that from the start when Megumi was about to get expelled for carefully following the exact recipe and Souma was about to get expelled when he stood up to a faulty system. They had great potential but had their cooking careers easily on edge just because an alumni had trust issues.

Students were being punished left and right because their dishes weren't good enough for the alumni or even Erina who quite literary abuses her power throughout the series. The Food Wars was a make or break, and people had their passions being on chokehold all because the dean's little princess wants a personal kitchen for herself. There was also absolutely no consequence to her failing other students intentionally because they damaged her fragile ego. Even if overruled by her grandfather, it's still a problem when you have the dean's daughter putting down others and their passions and getting no consequence to it.

The internship part was also annoying considering everyone has once again have their cooking careers on the line, but you know who didn't? The dean's granddaughter. In fact, she was allowed to boss around and disrespect someone's whole business. It should have been an opportunity to improve or learn from others, but instead thst just wasn't the case for her. She was the only one that didn't show any professionalism but because she has a supposed superpower and has a family with a position of power nothing was at risk.

In conclusion, the Senzaemon and Azami administration the same. Both abusive in their power, except for Senzaemon he lets his granddaughter get away with everything. Erina? Probably that too. I mean they did pass on the position of dean to an underqualified highschool freshmen soon to be sophomore. Her only resume is "family". Nepotism at it's finest! I guess the one thing Totsuki does realistically is that nepotism runs rampant in elite schools.

I got a hold of SNS: L’etoile! It’s unfortunate the first chapter started kinda just felt like a repeat of the first Food Wars chapter. Take it as Souma’s situation at the beginning but frenchify it. Megumi Tadokoro? Once again doing my girl dirty for the umpteenth time. They really said frenchify whitewash her too (aka Grâce). Her name even translates to Megumi's name—wow how original. If they like her so much why not just add her instead of making cheap knock-offs!

At least when they try the food it isn’t sexual at all. Thank god for that. It saves me from the second-hand embarrassment Shokugeki no Souma normally gives me.

However I will point out with a weak start I did wish the beginning went a different route. Again my biggest gripe especially when looking at the first chapter is that they should just have Megumi be a big part of the story. Her and Kojiro compliment each other so well (looking at the Regiment de Cuisine Arc).
