Best Wishes ending

Someone going through and liking an awful lot of these drabbles gave me a smile this morning.

I don't think I'm going to be finishing these - I still have nearly 40 left unwritten, with few ideas left and only the OVA and last movie left to give me feelings for my babies.

However, I do have a few of the remaining prompts written already, and I've had them tucked away to post in the correct order for some time. I'll probably post them over the course of the next couple of days, ending of course with #100, Goodbye, to try and give this blog some sense of closure.

54: Bold

Ash had always been the bold one compared to his travelling companions. There were times when May had outdone him, especially when food or Harley were involved, and he'd find himself left in the dust, but even Brock's weakness for pretty girls didn't match Ash's ability to charge ahead.

Unova changed that. Everyone he met there seemed far more headstrong and in-your-face than anyone he'd met in previous regions or leagues. Bianca wasn't afraid to cuddle or prod at others or their pokemon, even going so far as to demand Luke trade her Zorua; Stephan was always the first to demand a rematch, seconds after either a loss or victory; Cameron was louder still than either of them, and took poorly to being corrected. The definition of manners and personal boundaries just seemed vastly different than what he'd been raised on or seen on his travels.

This was especially true of Iris and Cilan, who had been bolder than he knew what to do with. Iris had no bike debt to excuse the way she stalked him for the first two weeks of their journey; Cilan had made his decision to join Ash in over the course of a single meal. With those headstrong tendencies, he shouldn't have been so surprised when times came where he was the one holding them back, keeping Cilan from chasing down trains or Iris from leaping in to save a pokemon at her own peril.

But most exasperating of all was trying to hold them back when their boldness grew to stealing kisses in public, leaving him blushing and staring at the wall. He could never be truly mad at either of them, of course, but sometimes he wondered when he'd become the laid back one.
