I knew a guy who was super into sci-fi, and so we started talking about our world building with each other. I was telling him about my universe (which is still a dystopia, actually) but when I got to the part about my disabled characters he turned around and said "Well in MY utopia people aren't disabled."

Some people genuinely believe that disabled people have no place in a perfect society. Hell! If you look at most sci-fis that do have disabled people you'll see that they're usually built around "fixing" them, and not around accommodating for the person.

my utopia has disability in it. my utopia includes free healthcare and no-questions welfare and state-funded carers. my utopia includes building requirements that centre disabled bodies — ramps and lifts and dimmer switches and braille signs. my utopia has disability in it. because without disability, it’s not much of a utopia at all

Thanks for the ask!! Q: When did you start drawing? Do you remember? Beyond the basic everyone doodles to some extent, I started focusing on drawing in the summer of 2020 when I randomly decided to do a 100 day challenge out of pure boredom. Almost managed to do it too!

Q: Do you prefer traditional art or digital to relax? Digital art unless I'm specifically in the mindset to do mindless doodles. Those ones are always the most satisfying with lined paper and a pencil. Sometimes ya gotta go back to the roots

Q: Do you use more warm or cold colors? I think I tend to use more cool colors? It's hard to say, but given the choice I tend to stick around the blues/purples/pinks. Which is technically more cool than warm ig

Q: Do you do warmup sketches before drawing? (Bonus: do you have any to share?) Whenever I do full pieces I'll usually thumbnail a few ideas for composition reasons and stuff, but I rarely do full warmup sketches. Or sometimes I'll do disparate concept sketches for character/prop design beforehand, but those might be hours or days apart from the main drawing. For example, here's some design/expression practice I was doing for a character!

A: Probably my OC Craig. And usually angst type stuff, I find it cathartic. He's just so princess ❤️

Q: Do you prefer drawing Fandom stuff or your own characters?

A: I draw my own characters more often because I simply have more inspiration and time to do so, but I honestly wish I the time to draw some pathologic fanart.

Q: Your favorite music to draw to right now?

A: My tastes vary wildly, but I mostly listen to art pop, contemporary folk/blues, classic rock, ukranian and russian music, and punk/grunge. Mostly indie stuff. Think like Cosmo Shelldrake, Hozier, Fleür, Fleetwood Mac, Mother Mother, Slow Motion Commotion, etc. Except all in one chaos Playlist.

Q: Is night or day better for drawing?

A: Day. I need sunlight or I'll die. If I don't go to bed by 9:00 I will also die. I love to sleep when the sun is down ❤️
