Bruno: The tale of Félix, the stonecold vampire with a heart of gold, and Pepa, the moody teenage girl with moods that change the weather, is still a better love story than Twilight.
Pepa: What the fuck is Twilight?

On that last one, imagine if the family gathers and listens to the rap sessions. Even better, imagine Bruno rapping to Pepa playing guitar and Julieta and Agustín playing piano. Or even Agustín, Bruno, and Félix rapping while Julieta and Pepa play them off.
I can imagine them doing it on one of the grandkids’ birthdays lol
More Madrigal Triplets Headcannons
I would love to see someone draw some of these. Just tag me if you do.
The triplets can feel some of the effects of each other’s powers. When Pepa’s raining or snowing her siblings feel a little cold. When Julieta’s food heals someone her siblings feel warm. When Bruno has a vision his siblings feel pressure right behind their eyes.
When it hails, Pepa is extremely happy. No one knows why hail is the effect but she loves it.
Whenever Julieta and Pepa would argue when they were young it would stress Bruno out. He’d have visions just to make sure they were gonna make up. He’d try to speed up the process of them healing but never connected that he was “changing” the future in a sense by helping them get along.
Pepa became interested in make-up first. She practiced a lot on her siblings. It always relaxed Bruno the most to have her put it on him. It became a big way for them to bond when they were teens.
Julieta learned how to do her make-up but she still asks Pepa to do it for her if she misses her and they haven’t had the chance to catch up in a while. Their children have seen how serene it is for them and usually don’t interrupt. Sometimes Julieta tells Pepa her hands are too tired to do it herself.
Bruno has always liked to hold hands with the people he loves. He likes to give Julieta hand massages when she’s been in the kitchen for too long.
The triplets used to all three get sick if Pepa was having a bad week. They’d all curl up under her rain cloud to comfort her. Julieta would heal them each night before bed but the next day they’d end up feeling sick again from all falling asleep in Pepa’s room.
Alma taught them all how to sew. Bruno insisted he learn too. She didn’t argue since he was so willing. He’s not very good at it but he knows how it works. His hands just won’t do what his brain tells him is right.
Sometimes Bruno likes to tease his sisters by saying he doesn’t want to be in the middle anymore. It never works because he always ends up giggling at their expressions when he protests.
Julieta and Bruno figured out early on that when Pepa’s lip quivers she’s about to cry and then rain. Julieta offers a hand on her shoulder and Bruno will hold her hand and they both squeeze.
After Bruno comes back they all set aside time each day just for the three of them. It gives Julieta a break from the kitchen, Pepa has time to express her emotions, and Bruno gets to feel all the affection he missed over the last ten years.
Pepa walks faster than her siblings because she’s the tallest. When she gets too far ahead she stops in the middle of the walkway and holds her hands out. Her siblings run up and grab her hands. This may or may not have almost gotten her trampled by a horse.
One time Pepa and Julieta got into a fight and then a shoving match. Julieta refused to heal the scrape on Pepa’s arm because she was still upset. Pepa kept tossing snowballs at Julieta. Bruno stayed out of that one. The fight had been over the last cup of coffee and he ended up drinking it while they argued. (You can decide if they’re young when this happens or if they’re 50. It’s funnier if they’re 50.)
When Pepa sees her siblings cry she cries. She often needs help calming down after comforting her siblings. She feels things very deeply and she’s an empath. She can’t just switch from an extreme feeling to contentment without a little help.
The triplets will always cover for each other. Pepa had a hickey once and Julieta instantly made food to heal it so Alma wouldn’t see. It was the middle of the night but she did it anyway.
Sometimes Pepa wakes up swinging. She says it because she fought so much with her siblings in the womb. Clearly she won since she’s the tallest.
Bruno had a good two years of being taller than Pepa until she hit a growth spurt and he just never caught up.
Pepa used to have insecurities about being the tallest until Bruno kept telling her how cool it was. She got really confident in her height when she met Felix and he never noticed her height as being a problem.
Sometimes Pepa trips over Bruno.
Julieta: How’d you trip over him?
Pepa: He’s really small.
Bruno: In her defense I was laying on the floor.
Waking Pepa up is always a dangerous game. You never know what you’re gonna be facing. Could be a small cloud over her. It could be some thunder from her annoyance. She could even create some snow and hit you with a snowball.
Sometimes Pepa’s rain leaves puddles of water and Julieta slips on them the most. She’s never paying attention to the ground when she’s working. Casita usually stops her from falling.
Alma taught them how to play guitar. She picked it up from Pedro when they were young. Pepa is more drawn to the guitar than her siblings. Julieta loves piano because of Augustin. Bruno would rather rap with his rats.
Julieta and Pepa have walked in on Bruno having and hosting rap battles with his rats on more than one occasion.

PÉLIX APPRECIATION POST
Did anybody notice Pepa doing the “mischievous grin” as she’s singing about Bruno doing it? (Literally half a millisecond before Félix goes “tHUNDERRR”) IT’S SO CUTE HONESTLY
Tumblr media
Also look at these two.
Tumblr media
Look how dramatic they are.
And then when Pepa scolds him for stealing her thunder (heh get it bc he literally stole her “thunder”)...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TALK ABOUT A MISCHIEVOUS GRIN this man knows exactly what he’s doing.
And then Pepa’s just like “Ugh I can’t even stay mad at you.”
Tumblr media
And then her expression shifts to vindictive
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And she’s just like “Mhm. Thank you, I will go on.”
Gosh I love these two.

Pepa: Juli, how long did you sleep last night?
Bruno: She didn’t sleep. She’s been sitting there since I went to bed last night.
Pepa: Why doesn’t she go to bed?!
Bruno: Bold of you to assume she went to bed at all this week.

Anytime! I love the headcanons a lot so I may be writing more! 🙂
My Encanto Headcanons!
(Mostly about the triplets cause they’re living in my mind rent free. I’ll be adding more when I came up with them.)
Julieta’s hands are worn out and full of scars and burns from cooking, not because she doesn’t want to heal herself but because she doesn’t have time to stop and do so (as a professional baker I say this from experience), and when she has time, she’s way too tired to eat anything.
Also because Agustín sometimes is the one that heals her the “non gift” way. She’s not gonna say no to her man, in fact she finds it cute.
When Pepa blushes she creates fog. The more embarrassed she is, the more fog she produces.
Julieta is one of her main sources of embarrassment. She will squeeze Pepa’s face and call her every single pet name related to the weather (“mi sol, my sunshine, my little ray of sun, my summer rain!”) she can think of.
Julieta LOVES embarrassing her loved ones by showing them how much she loves them (the kitchen scene). Sometimes unintentionally, but mostly intentionally when it’s her siblings.
Thing is that it has the same effect for her. Most of the time Alma or Agustín would to the same to her and she will get full red and cover her face. Cue to Pepa laughing in the back while Bruno smiles.
Félix calls Agustín “Agus”.
The triplets would do slumber parties when they were kids, and now that Bruno is back and have more time for themselves, they’re starting to do them again… husbands included.
“If any of you kisses I’m throwing myself off my tower”. He says it jokingly but he also means it.
Pepa’s room either looks like the disney version of the Mount Olympus (basically made of clouds) or like that one valley with the little cottage from Howl’s Moving Castle. Basically an open space to let her feelings set loose without hurting anyone.
Julieta’s room probably looks like a lab, so she can experiment with different recipes (women in stem 😃👍🏻).
After the film timeline she started hanging out with her girls and niblings. She would teach Isa about plants and their properties while Isa would teach her about exotic plants. They would sit and paint the flowers they discover.
When she was a kid, Dolores would feel overwhelmed by the sounds, so Pepa would sit beside her without saying a word and lend Dolores her hands so she would have something else to focus on. Dolores would do the same if her mom is feeling anxious.
On an attempt to spend more time with her children and grandchildren, Alma starts hanging out with them.
Thanks to Antonio being the mediator, she ended up befriending the butterflies. Toñito would explain and show her the different types of butterflies that exist.
Bc of that, sometimes Alma would go out to the streets while being followed by several butterflies. The townsfolk would look at her in awe, for it’s definitely an angelic view.
Alma would talk about her life to the butterflies, but mostly about her children. This lead to the butterflies posing on the triplets at random times. If Toñito is around he would say “they like you! Abuela talks a lot about you!”. Julieta would be so honoured, while Bruno would be like ☺️ and Pepa would be on the verge of crying. They didn’t expect her mom to talk about how much she appreciates her family and even less her children. Pepa would rush to hug her mom.
When they were teens, Julieta would pass out in the kitchen from exhaustion, so Pepa would always check on her and carry her to her room while Bruno would be following behind.
Agustín and Julieta declared to each other at the same time. It was early in the morning, and Pepa and Bruno were looking from a distance. Needless to say that morning a rainbow painted the encanto’s sky.
Julieta’s hair started greying prematurely, around her mid 20s.
Feel free to draw any of these if you want, and if you do, please tag me!!! I would love to see it!

I’m kind of going through art block but I hope you accept writing!
I wrote the second to last one, now I’m gonna do the last one!
------
She stood in the bathroom frantically brushing her hair. She kept parting it and brushing it, parting and brushing, it wouldn’t go away.
Why me...?
She just kept combing and brushing and washing and it never changed. There was no denying it. She had gray hairs.
But she was literally 25! What was she doing having gray hairs! Just because she cooked hours and hours a day, every day of the week, and sometimes passed out from exhaustion doesn’t mean that she should be having gray hairs! Why didn’t Pepa or Bruno have this problem? Hell, even her own mother had her fair share of gray hairs, but she was 50!
She bent over the sink and held her face. She felt her cheeks burning and her eyes stinging, and soon her hands were becoming soaked in her tears.
Come on, Julieta. Pull yourself together! Your siblings and boyfriend are waiting for your return!
But she couldn’t. She just cried harder and harder. There was no avoiding or running away from it. She knew she pushed too hard, and her body was finally showing the biological consequences. The gray hairs, the bags, the wrinkles, all of the physical signs that she just needed a break.
After about 20 minutes, Pepa had heard her crying when she went to check on her, and knocked lightly.
“Julieta?” She called softly. “Can I come in, please?”
Julieta choked out approval, albeit hesitantly. By this point, she had slid against the wall and had been crying into her lap.
Pepa entered gently and closed the door behind her. She rushed to her side and kneeled down.
“Julieta, why are you crying?!” She asked frantically, holding her cheeks as a cloud formed above them.
“I-I’m fine, Pepi...” She said, though it was a clear lie. “I just got overwhelmed...”
Pepa sat beside her older sister and pulled her into an embrace. Julieta didn’t fight it and just leaned on her. She didn’t stop the tears from falling and neither did Pepa, because the latter knew this would happen. She, Bruno, Agustín, and Félix worried themselves over how poorly Julieta took care of herself. The girl showered and brushed her teeth, but that was it. There would be times where she ate a lot less than everyone else, if not at all. She would work so much that she wouldn’t even take a break to grab a drink or a snack. She’d always put herself last. And one night, Abuela found her sitting to herself in the bathtub, crying and drinking wine. Upon learning that, the four begged Abuela to allow Julieta a break, but she confessed that she had told her to take a break before.
It just developed into a very unhealthy work style. And every second, whether she admitted it or not, it took a toll on Julieta’s health. The poor girl even treated it as normal, as needed, as important for the encanto. Abuela saw that her daughter worked hard, hard enough to deserve a break. But what Abuela didn’t and wouldn’t see for a long time was that it was tearing her apart.
If it was a normal thing to expect to find her passed out, it was surely a normal thing to expect to find her sobbing her eyes out at the pressure. Just thinking of it made Pepa want to cry.
She wondered what would happen if she never had a gift like this.
Hell, she often wondered what would happen if she hadn’t had a gift at all.
Pepa must have lost track of how long they’d been gone, because she heard knocking. Now the boys were outside wondering if everything was alright.
“Lie...” Julieta quietly pleaded. “I don’t want them seeing me like this...”
Pepa started to, but she figured that regardless of how she looked, Julieta needed comfort more than anything.
“Sorry...” Julieta looked up at her sister, who grabbed a towel and wiped her nose and face. “I can’t this time...”
Pepa told them to come in and they did. First Bruno, then Félix, then Agustín, who somehow tripped and fell against the wall on the way in.
He was fine, but Julieta tried rushing to his aid. Bruno blocked this, insisting he’d be fine. Next thing he did was sit her on the toilet and held her tightly. The bathroom was spacey enough to allow it, so she didn’t bother fighting it. Pepa stood up,
He kneeled down and hugged her better. “Please, please stop working yourself to death.”
“Bruno...” She began, but he cut her off.
“I don’t want to hear whatever defense you’re going to say. You work too damn hard with no break.”
“He’s right, hermana.” Félix spoke up. “And to be honest...the encanto can wait.”
“Guys, please, I’m-”
“Julieta, please!” Pepa intervened, her cloud now starting to lightly rain on the group. “You can’t keep setting yourself aside for everyone else! You’re only one person!”
Julieta fell silent and looked down, feeling more tears form in her red eyes. As much as she was trying to keep it together, what broke the dam was when Agustín took her hands in his and gave her a pleading look of worry. He didn’t even have to say anything. She just broke down again. He kneeled down and moved closer to pull her into a hug, and Bruno moved back to allow it. She hugged him tightly and cried into his shoulder. He pulled her off the toilet and held her close in his lap. He pet and stroked her hair, gray hairs and all. He didn’t even think there were that many, only a streak really. It kinda looked cool. They all thought it fit her, but obviously she didn’t feel the same way.
Bruno moved closer and with Agustín’s inviting glance, he joined the hug and held his sister as well. Followed by Pepa, who was now crying herself, and then Félix, who was just worried sick for the person he always considered to be a little sister.
They just hugged on the bathroom floor while slowly becoming wet from Pepa’s raincloud for what seemed like hours but was probably only 20 minutes. Julieta felt so relieved afterwards.
Following the session, they finally exited the bathroom and headed to the dining room, where they sat her down and fed her some rice and a cup of tea.
The rice was dogshit, mainly because it was made by Agustín and he couldn’t cook to save his life, but she still appreciated and ate it nonetheless. Whenever she ate any of their cooking, she felt a lot better inside.

Pepa was lightly crying to herself and thus getting rained on.
Félix approaches her and holds her gently.
She told him that she had an awful dream where she was alone and didn’t have anyone.
Félix kisses her face and hands gently and tells her that she’ll never, ever be alone and that he’ll always be there for his lover.
Pepa smiles and her clouds dissipate along with her tears. She couldn’t be happier to be married to Félix.

For that second-to-last one, I must contribute a story.
------
Bruno and Pepa read each other’s minds, and they knew what to expect the second they hit the kitchen. It was 7:30PM and Julieta hadn’t joined them in Bruno’s tower for their weekly story night like she promised. She said she would join them after she finished preparing a little batch for them to enjoy while they shared stories, but that was over an hour ago. They waited a bit and decided to check on her. She was either in her room asleep, in the bathroom, or in the kitchen, but their guts just told them the same thing.
She’s still in the kitchen.
They quietly made their way down there as they knew their mother was probably asleep. They tiptoed down the steps and entered the kitchen, and found her just how they suspected.
Crumpled on the floor, her head inches away from the counter, arepas scattered across the floor, batter covered spoon next to her face.
Now if this were their first time seeing this, they would have been panicking and getting their mother. But this was just a regular thing now. Julieta always overworked herself, and despite her siblings telling her to relax and take even just 5 minutes to herself, she wouldn’t as she was afraid of her mother’s wrath and letting her community down. She wouldn’t even heal the scars with her own cooking until the next day.
The two just looked at each other and got to work. Pepa picked her unconscious sister up once she checked and confirmed she hadn’t struck her head on the counter, and Bruno picked up the spilled goods and batter. He cleaned the mess and put all of the arepas in Julieta’s signature basket save for one. Rather than return to Bruno’s tower, he and Pepa decided to call it a night to allow their exhausted sister to rest.
Bruno opened the door for them both, and Pepa gently tucked her exhausted sister into bed. Bruno placed an arepa on her night stand and they both kissed her goodnight before departing the room.
Julieta woke the next morning with a slight headache and her siblings in the room with her. She instantly recognized what happened and rubbed her face in embarrassment and disappointment, but they both just smiled and hugged her while Bruno made her eat the arepa from the night before. Julieta smiled and hugged them in return, thinking to herself that she couldn’t ask for a better sister and brother.

Camilo: Mami, papi, could I have a dress?
Pepa: Of course, mi hijo. What kind would you like? Do you have a preference? Do you have an idea of what you’d like?
Camilo: You’re oddly on board with this.
Félix, in the closet pulling out tons of dresses: We were waiting for you to ask!
Camilo, touched: Aw, I love you guys so much!

this was gonna be a quote but it was far too long and my writer’s side kicked in so fuck iiiiit.
I shall call this, “The Stars Are Pretty”.
Featuring the Madrigal Triplets, Félix, and Agustín, all in their late 20s.
*~*
A long time ago, when they were in their late 20s, Bruno, Félix, and Agustín chilled on the ground in the center of Casita and stared up at the stars in the sky. It was partially cloudy, but the clouds would give way to the powerful moon that shined down on them. They had been laying on pillows and blankets brought from Agustín’s home, and just looked at the beauty above them.
“Hey Bruno…” Félix spoke up softly.
“Yeah?” Bruno replied.
“Do you ever think that…you’ll find someone?” Félix asked, somewhat shyly. The three of them had been really close, but it wasn’t something that really came up outside of a joke.
“I doubt it,” Bruno straightforwardly responded. “Everyone thinks I’m some sort of bad omen ever since that girl’s goldfish died.”
“Ugh, the fish…” Agustín rolled his eyes. He couldn’t stand hearing about how Valentina’s goldfish had died because Bruno told her it would, even though she was the one coming to him for a prophecy. “She says it like you put some curse on the thing.”
“She wasn’t taking care of it properly, of course it was gonna die,” Bruno said nonchalantly. “But people just can’t handle the truth, apparently.”
“Valentina’s just…overdramatic.”
“That isn’t the word,” Félix responded with a light yawn.
“So fellas…you both have been dating a sister of mine for quite some time. Any word of a wedding?” Bruno said jokingly.
“Not yet…” Agustín said sheepishly. “I’m super nervous.”
“Actually…I wanna propose to Pepa tomorrow night…” Félix responded.
Bruno and Agustín looked at him with looks of surprise. Then they started playfully cheering. Félix laughed and playfully told them to fuck off.
“Hey shut up, they’ll be back any minute!” Félix said, laughing.
“They said they’d be back like 30 minutes ago, I’m pretty sure they’re asleep,” Bruno said, chuckling.
Agustín, laughing his ass off, stood up and walked to the stairs. “I’ll go see what’s up.”
Just as he started going upstairs, he heard a door open, and the three turned to the sound. Pepa and Julieta had stepped out of the bathroom adjacent to the kitchen, with Pepa having a look on her face that was as if she was completely drained of her energy. Félix got up and walked over to them.
“Pepi, amor…are you okay?” He asked, holding her shoulders and rubbing them gently. Pepa gave a light smile, but whatever had been bothering her was too strong.
“She’s fine…” Julieta spoke with a slight smile. “She just had a bit of a surprise earlier…”
“Surprise my ass…” Pepa said, causing Julieta to chuckle.
Bruno eyed Agustín with a confused glance. “Is this another kind of girl lingo we’re supposed to understand? Cuz I’m not following…”
“Pepi here had a little accident trying to demonstrate something to me.”
This just confused the guys and worried Félix even more. “What kind of accident? What happened, amor?”
“Nothing happened! Julieta don’t you say a fucking word about it.” Pepa warned, which made Julieta laugh even harder; the little accident had something to do with Pepa demonstrating what she and Félix did the night before. Bruno just shrugged and laid back down, Agustín returned back to his spot, and Pepa was walked over to the makeshift bed by Julieta and Félix. Everyone settled down, with Bruno in the middle of course.
Bruno noticed that Agustín was getting tired. He was holding Julieta close, snuggling at the crook of her neck, and his glasses were being maneuvered onto a desk by Casita. Julieta held him close and kissed his head periodically. All five of them had on some variations of pajamas, none of them were complete sets. Bruno was shirtless but had on pants. Félix wore a shirt, but his shorts didn’t match. Pepa had her hair down and wore the other half of Félix’s pajamas, so in an odd way they were matching. Agustín had on a shirt but took his pants off a while ago. Julieta was wearing his pants over her nightgown, and she too had her hair down. Sometimes when they slept in weird places, they dressed weirdly as well. It was their own little tradition.
After a little while, it was quiet. Agustín indeed fell asleep, and so did Pepa and Julieta. Félix and Bruno stayed up a little longer. Bruno would have got up and asked Félix to join him elsewhere, but Pepa was snuggled up to him so that wasn’t an option. She had an iron grip of Félix, not that he minded given that something had happened earlier. Bruno put his arms behind his head and eventually went to sleep.
Félix was thinking about how he was going about this…would he just get on his knee, would he just sing a song, would he just outright ask?
How weird would that be to go up to her while she’s eating and go, “Pepa, will you marry me?”
He already had her mother’s blessing, of course. She’s always been fond of Félix even before he and Pepa started dating, so when Abuela learned that he had planned on proposing, she was ecstatic. She wanted to help and do something elaborate, but he figured that it would be better to play it safe and do something smaller so she wouldn’t be overwhelmed. However he would do it, he would just be happy to do it. He would be happy to move forward in the steps it took to spend the rest of his life with her.
He looked down at her sleeping form and covered her up some more. She snuggled into him and rested her head against his chest. He smiled and kissed her hair and kept looking up.
The stars were so pretty. And he had the most radiant one drooling on his chest. He couldn’t be happier.
