What's a fancy item you own?        The Girl Who Survived by Ellie Midwood - Book Review .... Last week, I reread a Historical Fiction that i had read last year as a buddy read with @geembarr This book is always going to stay with me. It is a heart-wrenching thriller set in the camp during WW2. It is a real story. It follows the live of nineteen year old Ilse Stein as she watches the destruction and total dehumanization of her people. From being practically chased out of their homes, to being shipped off to camps far away, all the while becoming stateless. Ilse and her two sisters have to survive through thick and thin especially after their Papa had died in the crowded train on their way to the camp and their Mama had been among those taken to the gas chambers upon arrival. After that, it is simply about survival. In this situation, Ilse meets a local Luftwaffe officer Wilhem. He appears to be very different from his colleagues and before she realises it, she falls for him. Wilhem promises that she will survive, even if the cost is his own life. A true love story blooms in the face of uncertainty.  But in a world of such danger, daring to love is the most dangerous risk of all. Ellie Midwood is a Historical Fiction writer and already one of my fav authors! I am determined to read her others books 😍 already read about 6 and she never disappoints. The words she uses, the tenses all flow together making one flip the pages in eagerness and before you realise it, it's over! Qotd: what do you consider to be cheating on your partner? ... Beneath the Door-Book1 of the Chrysals Saga is an exceptionally written suspense. I enjoyed guessing throughout the book. It has a slow pace though but nonetheless It was a good read. I like the characters and the dialogues that went on between them. Most of all, the book has a lot of suspense! You can guess all you want like I did but at the end i realised I was terribly wrong. Totally recommend to mystery and suspense lovers. What's your hobby apart from reading? Blood and Silver by Vali Benson was an amazing read. I love the POV of the characters and the plot of the book. It is a simple book yet very interesting. Books With heavier or lighter topics? ..... The Descendants by Destiny Hawkins was a very interesting book. It's sort of a thriller and mystery all in one. I love the characters and the dialogues. Its a dark fantasy about an academy that is not really what it seems. Normally i like reading this kind of plot so It was very easy for me to enjoy it. There wasn't anything special or different though to be honest. It felt very similar to the ones I've read before. I loove The Housewarming by S.E.Lynes. Though i don't categorise it as a Thriller but it's the first thriller that I think of anytime I'm asked about what my fav thriller is. The Housewarming is more of a mystery, with contemporary and family drama. It's about the disappearance of a little girl one morning, which leads to secrets being uncovered, and which ultimately destroys relationships amongst the family and their friends. It's fast paced, intriguing and totally addictive. Highly recommend if you're a fan of mysteries!❤ ..... Hola todos! I feel there’s no need to read the others in the series and this can be read as a standalone. It was quite straightforward from the beginning. It was obvious it was going to centre on a kidnapping. From the first scene we see a teenager – Jason who is angry at his girlfriend for dumping him. Deciding to trash her house since her parents and her are on a vacation, he sees something he can never unsee. A young boy being kidnapped from just across the street by two hooded men in a white van. Jason quickly calls the cops anonymously and Detective Imogen Grey is soon called to the scene.
