i was discussing alicent’s state of mind that i believe she is in during this scene. apologies if that wasn’t clear but it is not my opinion it is what i think alicent’s is of herself. she is an extremely self conscious and anxious character, she would look at all the pain around her and feel responsible. she is self loathing at times and looks completely suicidal in that particular scene. it was an analysis of the trailer. portraying it like this is incredibly bad faith. it is not “stupid” to discuss the perspective a character may have.

Y'all try too hard to be deep.. what kickstarted the war was Viserys' decision to remarry, a choice bound to cause war regardless of who he married. Having children -especially sons- with a woman from a noble house while your daughter's legitimacy is already shaky due to the society you live in and couple that with whatever noble house he'd marry being ambitious and anybody with half a brain could see why that decision is dumb and dangerous. So do you understand how fucked it is to say 15 years old Alicent who was being used by her father and groomed by that creep Viserys 'she enabled it from the very beginning' is ???
