Looking at the “cool” characters of water (Sidon) and air (Teba)
I will be looking at what our “cool” characters have in common, where they differ, and how these characteristics help make them stand out from other champions.
Teba: Cool+Dry= Air
+ Lack inherited powers and not of Royal status
+ Impulsive and reckless; Confident
+ Actively works to save his village
+ Cold on first impression and hands on with his aid (the piggyback)
+ Familial connection: Son
Sidon: Cool+wet= Water
+ Lack of inherited powers and of Royal status
+ Impulsive and thoughtful; Confident
+ Actively works to save his domain
+ Warm on first greeting and is hands on with his aid (the piggyback)
+ Familial connection: Sister
Key Take-a-ways:
1. Teba has to rely on the natural air currents and Sidon doesn’t have magic healing powers. Even so they are formidable warriors.
2. The recklessness from Teba costed him a loss and his friend to be injured. Sidon realized that electric arrows were the only thing to take down Vah Ruta. Trying to find a non-Zora to be up to the task showed that he thinks before he acts. They both share a strong sense of confidence in the success of the mission and their involvement in that success.
3. They are very active in their steps to rescue their homes wither it be to search far and wide for an ally or take down the beat personally. They are on the front lines. While reckless Teba took charge to face Medoh and Sidon was on the outskirts of Zora’s Domain looking for help.
4. While Teba is not trusting and Sidon is very welcoming, both put Link through tests before they provide aid. Teba makes Link show his archery skills and Sidon makes Link prove his strength by making it all the way to Zora’s Domain on his own. The reward Link gets for proving himself is their trust.
5. Teba and Sidon foil in many ways which is especially in terms of their relationships. Sidon’s strong familial bond is through his sister as we in the Champion’s Ballad DLC. Teba’s strong familiar bond is through his son. While there is less dialogue between the two, we did get a cutscene of Teba taking his son to go training (something to son was looking forward to). Family bonds are more overtly important.
Final thoughts: I hope this allows people to view our “cool” characters in a different light. Of the 4 successors these two have more in common while still being perfect foils of one another. Both have their strong areas: confident, strength, and fervor to save their home. While both are impulsive, Sidon is thoughtful and warm vs Teba is reckless and cold. They both value strength of skill vs strength of mind (which I will cover in another post)

BOTW’s OoT backbone
Something that I thought was fairly apparent in Breath of the Wild was that it has many similarities to Ocarina of Time. By the time I finished BOTW, it was more apparent. So let’s start off with how BOTW main story has some parts of it’s plot from OoT.
For the sake of ease, the OoT that I am focusing on is the adult portion of the game. That is the backbone that BOTW mainly pulled from.
1. Link wakes up to a Ruined Hyrule
Yes I know that it’s a LoZ staple that our Hero gets cut off from some beauty sleep. But unlike most Link’s these guys wake up to Hyrule already in ruins when it wasn’t prior to them in stasis.
2. Zelda is there when Link starts his Journey
3. The Old Man
Something I should note, Zelda is the one who aids Link on his journey, but the Old Men (King Rhoam and Rauru) are the ones who give Link more history about what has happened since he has been asleep. Both groups are helpful to Link in their own right
4. Ganon is the cause of Hyrule’s state of ruin
5. Our Allies fall in Battle
6. We take a memento from our fallen Allies
7. In the end, the allies, Link, and Zelda take down Ganon
8. We fight Ganon twice.
9. The final goodbye to the fallen Allies
The rest of this contain spoilers from Age of Calamity. If you don’t want to be spoiled, then at the very least consider my speculation from before.
Something to note is that the BOTW series doesn’t just end with the base game. We have Age of Calamity in one crucial piece is a testimony to the OoT backbone that BOTW has.
10. We have someone go back in time to undo the future events from another timeline.
This is the ending your get from OoT. Zelda sends Link back in time and in doing so Link sets out to warn Zelda about the events that are to come. In doing this the “Child Timeline” is created, a timeline in which the Royal Family was warned of Ganondorf thus preventing him from destroying Hyrule.
If you don’t know the ending of Age of Calamity, I won’t go too much into detail. However the main take-a-way is that in this game the Heroes were successful in sealing Ganon before he could (arguably) destroy Hyrule as he did in BOTW. This would entail that the BOTW that we know (the utter ruin of Hyrule) would no longer exist since...well Ganon was taken care. Effectively, we have created a “Child timeline” scenario in which an event was prevented thus creating a new set of events to come.
Is BOTW 2 going to continue it’s “child timeline” post the prevention of Hyrule’s ruin
or
Is BOTW 2 going to continue it’s “adult timeline” post Hyrule’s ruin?

or Maybe...her?
So let me offer another look at who the Mystery Person could be...just to be fair.
Let us consider if this person is a Gerudo. Make a note of the gold lining of the collar...look familiar?
pay attention to this picture because it’s not just the collar that is important.
The diadem on Urbosa has a similar design and center piece to that of our Mystery Villian. Something worth pointing out is that in Gerudo culture, throughout Zelda history, a diadem with a jewel as a center piece is only worn by Gerudo of high rank.
if you look throughout BOTW, no Gerudo wears a diadem with a central jewel minus...
Note that Riju has the same collar design that Urbosa and Mystery Person has on their respective collars.
There is one character that I don’t know how they work because low-key I don’t think is a regular Gerudo. Isha ie Jewel
1. Has a diadem but with two central jewels
2. The only Gerudo in BOTW outside of Riju and Ubrosa is the only Gerudo who wears a skirt
3. While not a collar embellishment, her belt looks like the golden collar Mystery Person had on his cape, the one on Riju’s collar, and Urbosa’s collar that I pointed out earlier
3. Her hair accessory looks eerily like the Gerudo crown.
But I digress.
What am I trying to say? If the Mystery Person is in fact a Gerudo (which they very well maybe), I think it would be safe to say that they were someone of High Rank judging from the diadem with a central jewel and the golden collar embellishment that we have only seen on High Status Gerudo.

Vaati isn't gerudo and he has never worked for Ganon. Vaati has always been an independent villain.
Very true. My post was based on the physical appearance of the Mystery Person, I didn’t however speculate a narrative reason behind who Mystery Person X would be.
So to respond properly, let us ask ourselves...how do we know that Person X is a Gerudo?
1.The best evidence for this would be the Gerudo symbol on their cape (?). However I would go so far as to say that if this were indeed a Gerudo, are we to believe that the only symbol of their heritage would be obscured from the front? Recall I said that Person X is wearing two types of articles. The first appearing to be a dark purple robe while the second is a (lighter colored) purple that is has the Gerudo Symbol. If this were a Gerudo, why wouldn’t the Gerudo Symbol be on the robe? The purple cape appears to be something worn over the dark purple robe...not as an attached piece.
2. It would seem strange for a Gerudo to have such ashy looking skin. There has never been a time in Zelda history that a Gerudo has been so ashy looking. They are more tanned than fair as a race. Even in BOTW, you will have more brown-skinned Gerudo than fair-skinned Gerudo.
3. I would like to point to the head adornment on Person X. It is gold with a large red center piece. Looking throughout Gerudo depictions across the series, the only Gerudo I can recall having a golden head adornment with a jewel in the center are; Ganondorf, Nabooru, TwinRova, Urbosa, and Riju. Notice that all of these Gerudo were Gerudo who have high status in the Gerudo tribe. In fact it is very common that Royalty or people of high status will have head ornaments with a jewel in the center in the Zelda series. If this person is supposed to be a Gerudo, then it would have to be someone of high status ie a chief.
However that seems improbable because nothing in BOTW or Creating a Champion speak of a former Gerudo (let alone chief) going rouge.
So now that I have laid out my concerned over this being a Gerudo (which they very well could be), I will address Vaati.
1. Very Correct that Vaait has always worked independently as a villain. However, do recall that Ganondorf tricked Link in Four Swords Adventures to free Vaati by pulling out the Four Sword (which aided in keeping Vaati at bay). I assume that Ganondorf planned on Vaati being a “distraction” so Ganondorf can do his own thing. When you approach Ganondorf after defeating Vaati he complained that Vaati was useless because with all of the Light Force he (Vaati) acquired...it wasn’t enough to hold off Link. So one could argue Vaati did “work for” Ganondorf.
2. While Vaati and Ganondorf didn’t have partnerships like we saw with Zant-Ganondorf, it is not like the Yuga-Ganondorf “partnership” in which the later was used by the former unwillingly. We can say at best that they did know eachother in Four Swords Adventures event.
But thank you for your response.

Maybe?
My first impression of the new villain character from Age of Calamity
1.The Yiga wear white masks on their hand, comparing the white to the color on the hand of Mystery Person X...I would say their skin is gray/blue.
2. Person X is wearing two types of articles. The first is a purple robe that seemingly covers the whole body. The second article on top of this purple robe seems to be a (now ripped) purple cape spotting a Gerudo symbol.
3. The artifact Person X is holding has glowing purple pieces...a connection to Calamity Ganon.
1. Person X is wearing a golden head piece with a red center. In addition the robe seems to have a yellow banding on the hood. There appears to be an eyes that is reminiscent of the eye of malice we see with Calamity Ganon.
the difference is that the sclera (the white part of a normal eye) is red with Person X whereas the sclera with malice around it...has a black sclera.
2. We see bag under their eyes, indicating they are fairly old. There seems to be red or dark purple eyeshadow as well as dark “eyeliner”.
This image is very interesting because you see the Person X wearing a gold belt.
So who could Mystery X be...
...just a first impression.

Is the breathe of the wild sequel tied to Twilight Princess? any chance of midna? I haven’t played Zelda since TP just started on breathe so I’m slightly excited
Only Nintendo would truly know.

Has anyone else noticed the resemblance between the dragon Zonai statues and the Quetzalcoatl statues from Aztec Mythology? Look them up!
I have actually, which interesting considering they (the Zonai) worship a water dragon. I have heard some say that the said dragon is Farosh but I doubt that because it’s design doesn’t appear to be inspired by Aztec design like the dragons sculpted on their architecture.

KH Foretellers...is it just me?
Ira
-Main color is white
-Stand alone feature of the keyblade is that it is black and white (mostly)
- Pretty calm level-headed guy considering
+ My own thoughts: What an oddball. Fantasy animal, extra long mane, and red eyes.
Results:
There is more white and black with this guy than a chess board. In addtion, Riku has a build closer to this being tall and kinda muscular. The duality of the keyblade being black and white with Ira clothes being white kinda pointed me to Riku. Also white hair.
Aced
-Main color is light brown
-Stand alone feature of the keyblade is that it brown and thicc
-Self-Righteous but loyal
Results:
Let’s be real...you know it would be him. Size was taken into account and no main character is beefier than Terra. Also brown hair
Gula
-Main color is yellow
-Stand alone feature of the keyblade is that it is hella pointy and looks like lightening (going back to the whole yellow)
- He seems younger but he seems to be the most serious acting of the group
Results:
The lightening is realized in Ventus when you consider Ventus is hella fast. Also blonde hair.
Invi
-Main color is blue
-Stand alone feature of the keyblade is the design is very much like ice crystals (going back to blue)
- Like Ira level headed but in addition she acts as a middle (wo)man
+ My own thoughts: Can I just say it’s odd that she is almost religiously covered. Her face is more covered than Ava to the point you can’t even see her neck. Nomura made a point that you can’t see anything minus her nose, the snake tail almost acts like hair..
Results:
Like Aced, this is a pretty easy connection. Aqua has freaking ice powers and a common color for her is blue. Not to mention, blue hair.
Ava
-Main color is pink
-Stand alone feature of the keyblade is that unlike the other keyblades doesn’t have a dark parts on the shaft. So I this would be the purest of the keyblades
- Supportive
Results:
If the pink didn’t give it away, let’s go back to the uniqueness that Ava’s character and keyblade have. Ava is the one the master told to form a group of “dandelions” as a safety precaution for the coming keyblade war. There is no darkness on her keyblade. Now let’s look at Kairi. Red (add white and you get pink), flower blade, and she is a princess of Light which puts her in a unique category on it’s own.
Not really a theory but I guess a fan-idea? I have no idea why the Foretellers are masked unless we have seen their faces before. Unlike Organization 13, we couldn’t even tell dude from gal. However these Foretellers have bodies types that can easily match up with the main cast. If these are the main cast, why are their faces hidden. So I came up with an idea of...well what familiar face could behind the mask based off the keyblade (foreshadowing) and characteristics.

Zonai “Triforce”
Owl
Dragon
Boar
Ganondorf-TPHD
I see the boar with a dragon on his collar and an owl on his wrist...do you? Why would the Zonai have such an association of certain animals to the triforce...unless such an association was learned from someone else.
edit: Here is a better shot in case the former was isn’t clear
...until next time.

Coincidence, I think not!
1.
....hmm. So if purple marking are a sign of Ganon’s influence, why is his influence over the the Barbarian Armor?
Just a heads up, this outfit is found in the South Lomei Labyrinth, in the Gerudo Highlands.
2.
...a “mirror”, stairs leading up to
a wall? Sure >.>
3.
a water buffalo in the daytime
it’s eyes light up blue at night...just like the fragmented monument which lights up in the evening.
Don’t believe me, go find a wild buffalo and stay with it all day and watch around 8:30ish pm it’s eyes light up blue. Speaking of things lighting up...
4.
as taking from Creating a Champion (BOTW book).
given that it’s so dark Link and Zelda have to light a torch, we can assume that the rocks are lumonious stones.
Little tip
...you see the blue in the eyes?
