ROOT SPAGOOTS COMPLETELY COMPREHENSIVE EPIC LONG ESSAY TO EXPLAIN WHY YOU GUYS ARE MISCHARACTERIZING CACAO AS A TERRIBLE PERSON (part one)
Cacao Left His Villagers to Die?
Starting off strong, let's go to the first part of the story (episode 13: Snow on the Black Wall)
We're first introduced to both Cacao and Affogato in a bad lighting. First impressions are important
after all.
An unnamed cookie comes to the wall in search of help, more importantly mentioning starvation
in the village and constant attacks.
Notice the phrasing here. Affogato uses “We” rather than “I” implying guilt on Cacaos side, or at
least the other watchers, yet what we see later is the fact that Affogato had greatly understated
their issues, even calling them “petitioners” and not suffering citizens.
The cookie attempts to see the king, yet Affogato turns them away instead.
If Dark Cacao knew
about how bad it was, there would be no reason to turn them away, infact having them talk to
Cacao and him turning them away would reflect more horribly than Affogato just
saying no.
(Ever-closed Gate)
Next we get this scene from before
And this is followed by Cacao being emo. But this should also be acknowledged.
Despite Cacao
being immortal and pretty powerful he's still just one man.
This is followed by Affogato mentioning whispers about Cacao decision to close the gate, and
when Cacao insists on it, instead of saying “no take care of your people” or even just saying
okay, Affogato rewards his actions with positive affirmation.
This is important. Affogato is
verbally rewarding the behavior that has killed people outside the walls and harmed many
citizens, while he actively knows the circumstances outside as previously shown.
Yet this blame is put on Dark Cacao by fans, it's blatantly aware that he doesn't know about the
circumstances outside the wall, and while an argument can be attempted to be made about him
being more aware about the people outside the kingdom, that's his advisor, AFFOGATO'S, job to
inform him of such things.
I'm skipping (Milk Village) because I feel I'll just be addressing what I already said here ↑
Tl;dr: Cacao didn't even know what was happening outside of the walls bc affo was lying about it like he always does
Okay so- I've really been on the fence of talking about this for a while, but more stuff has come to my attention and I feel it should be discussed.
What is with the larger crk art community and racial preference/f3tish1ziation?
I genuinely want to know and I've noticed it's especially bad with Dark Cacao Kingdom Cookies. Names will be blurred for annominity, so please don't search for these people or harass them
1. Racial Preference
For some reason in the larger DCK art community being white is seen as a bad thing or as "less than". While said in a joking matter the repeated theme is that other races are better than white people (the whole point of anti racist movements being no race is better than the other and that we're all equal ((as we should be))) to the point where it feels like f3tish1ziation and like they're s3xualizing their features. It also seems extremely anti white to the point where if you prefer a cookie coded as white or you hc a character other than, you're seen as r@cist.
There's multiple other examples but these are a bit more obvious. While they're always played off as jokes it comes across so often not. And while I'm all for a good "white people suck joke" and "y'all are crackers" type of joke, this isn't what it is. This is blatant racial obsession.
2. F3tish1ziation
While I actually have a clear cut example of this, I won't be sharing it because the art style is recognizable in the fandom and the artist is a minor. What I will say, is the blatant s3xualization of Korean culture.
The most blatant example is the way people draw Cacao's clothes tight to show off his figure, or when his moobs are drawn visibly showing (not a lil, a LOT). Not only is this s3xualizing the culture DCK is blatantly based off of (Korean) it's also just gross. If you want to draw Cacao like that just put him in a shirt. There's no need for it.
Example from a cancelled artist (this still happens though.)
Notice how I've never sexualized his culture? Or blatantly obsessed over the fact Cacao is black-coded? Because it's not that difficult. It's actually incredibly easy, because it's not a thing normal people do.
I think the issue is these people are chronically twitter. They've slowly been taught that this behavior is acceptable and okay to show to their minor audiences. And the bigger issue is people who do this have a large audience of young people, who are taught that racial f3tish1ziation is okay, and how they're drawing these characters is okay. It's not. It's creepy. And it really needs to stop.
But yeah- don't expect me to talk about this in the future, I've said my peace. AGAIN this is not a call-out post, or ment to bring hatred to people. Simply a call to action. If you see people doing this, call them out for what it truly is. If you see people defend this, explain to them calmly why it's wrong.
The reason why r@cists can feel vindicated for their hatred and disgusting behavior is because these people direct the same hatred back at them. And while it doesn't have the same history, it only does more to harm those communities.
When r@cists see this racial f3tish1ziation and white-hate in communities like ours they use it to victimize themselves so they feel better about their cruel and horrible actions.
This behavior needs to stop, its only causing harm and bringing more hatred into the world
