Fun fact: I reference that Greenland had a previous numeral system than the one used now. The oldest shark found is not quite older that when the modern numbers started to be introduced but there may be older ones and its nice thought. https://topazcomics.com/swimon/downloads/

Catch Me if You Can Zine is a Detectives & Thieves themed Charity Fanzine for Palestine.

Artists will have the possibility to either illustrate already existing detectives & thieves, or put their own OCs or fictional characters that are neither cops nor robbers in such situations.

We are currently looking for visual artists only, but will advise if enough writers manifest themselves.

It is a Charity Zine. Therefore, the entirety of the benefits will go directly to one or multiple Palestinian Relief organizations.

cohost dot org is a new website

cohost is a lot like tumblr. you can have a blog, you can reblog things.

cohost is also a lot NOT like tumblr. it's explicitly anti-algorithm, no ads, and extremely transparent.

it's made by some friends of mine, and right now it's invite-only, but you can also make an account and you're put into a queue that's activated as the site scales up. I think it's a really cool project and I'm going to be on there more and more, i think.

it's totally free, and the culture is still starting, but there is some real top-tier Posting going on. you can check out the cohost twitter account for more information, but i really think this is gonna Be Something.

if we're mutuals feel free to reach out for an invite code, i have a few more saved up. (update signup is totally open now) the site's good, i love it, and i'm way less worried about some of the dumb shit that circles around sites like tumblr or twitter. for one thing, they're actively doing all these things:

i trust these folks, and i think the site's good. i think more people should be on it, and if you're used to tumblr you'll probably like cohost.

I'm on Cohost! let me give you the sales pitch

So since this websites days may or may not be numbered I'd thought I'd talk about Cohost since I've been on the sites for the better part of a year. It's the closes thing I've seen to a good Tumblr replacement but also I think is developing its own culture.

The learning curve for the site can be a bit of an adjustment since it has no algorithm or trend topics its very tag driven but in a way that different from Tumblr.

This is a site run by about 4 people who make money through a subscription service. I won't pretend that there aren't real technical limitations to that especial for artist uploading pictures and video. There is a cap on 5 mb (unless you have 5 bucks a month for coplus plus then its 10 mb) there are more and more types of art and posts being made and its expanding over time. I hope you give it chance in these trying times.

Swim On 9 2023 Donations

The yearly amount for all Swim On zines has been donated! We did so well this year! Thank you for your help with shark conservation.

This year we made $685.00

All proceeds were donated to finfree.org, which is listed as the Rob Stewart Sharkwater Foundation. Swim On donations are sent out on a yearly basis every September 30th. I take care of all the fees that stripe takes myself, so Finfree gets the full amount. All Swim On zines are still available for purchase!
