He really is.
My (very short) thoughts about s3 ep14 of tbb:
Omega proceeds to be an mvp. She's standing on business.
Echo proceeds to do all the work. AND HE GOT A HAND!!!
Hunter, Wrecker and Crosshair were just... there. With Rampart. Trying not to die. I mean fair, but come one. While you were roaming the forest Echo managed to get Emmery(?) on his side and found out about the other children. He's constantly working overtime.
They really emphasized Emmerie redemption.
HOW TF DO THEY WANNA CONCLUDE EVERYTHING IN JUST ONE MORE EPISODE?!!!

You can definitely give some additions. Cause my last full watch of the show was ages ago and I wrote this uncoherent post on the couch in one go while my cat was screaming at me. I also didn't expect anyone to actually answer cause I thought the fandom is dead 🙏😂. So I should probably try to give answers that are a bit more coherent than my initial posts.
So maybe I should say two things: I grew up with a single mother working in the medical field as well. But I also live in germany and not the USA where the show takes place. I think that definitely influences how I view shows, cause east germany and New Jersey or whatever are vastly different.
For example, we don't have 16 year olds driving vespas, or cars, or any vehicle beside their bicycle.
The point of Barbara overworking herself and Jim being overly worried and overprotective is more than true. And again, aside from nightshifts probably paying more like in germany, I have no nuanced knowledge of the US-American medical work field. (Also, I don't think that you become a doctor without any thrive for it, unless you're somehow being pushed into the field from family members, but in that case money would be less of a problem.)
To the second point. Household chores are hell. And there is also nothing wrong with children doing certain chores and taking over some responsibilities as they got older, they should in order to learn how to do them on their own once they move out, I just think Jim is taking on to much of them. And probably did so way to early. Again. Grew up with a single mother myself. My mother also is far from being a chef cook, but I ate food. (Also school lunch in germany is much more healthier than whatever I see being served in US high schools.)
SOCIETY IS ALWAYS AT FAULT. Who else. Well, also Jims father who was an absolute ass, but definitely society. No question.
But with the whole Strickler situation, I can't say it to much different from what I originally said. Jim was uncomfortable with relationship between his mother and Strickler from the beginning, be it for whatever reason. He probably wouldn't have been so uncomfortable with it (a little bit weirded out though probably) if Strickler weren't a changeling and villian.
Basically. For when your child is still a minor living under your roof. Even if you're child initially likes someone but is uncomfortable if you were to start a relationship with him, break up with them. Your child, again especially if their still a minor, should be your main priority. They ARE your main priority. So if your partner ends up being a straight up ass to children, or if your children are extremely uncomfortable around them (over the point of beginning awkwardness that is pretty normal) you should break up with them. Of course you should talk about the topic of new partners with your children anyways. But if it doesn't help with the situation... Y'know. Ditch them. Or let them down gently. Depending on the person.
The age of a kid also definitely makes a difference sometimes, and probably how they personally processed the situation on why they only have a single parent. Whatever it may be. But still, you're child is uncomfortable around a partner of yours and you can't communicate the problem, then you should break up. It's one of the rules I inherently live by, and I don't even have kids.
I'm rewatching Trollhunters in the background right now, and the disfunctional mother son relationship between Jim and his mom is making me crazy.
Like, he's taking care of the household and his mother for years as a teenager and before probably. She is sometimes giving half hearted comments about him not having to do so much, but very obviously she's not gonna make him stop do all the cooking and cleaning. Y'know. Both because they've been living like this for years, and because it's obviously also very comfortable to have someone do all the house work.
Then Strickler comes into the picture, and if we ignore the whole Troll and changeling side of the story, Barabara gets very offended cause Jim doesn't want her to meet him privately. Again, ignoring the whole magic and trolls stuff, STRICKLER IS JIMS TEACHER. If Jim hadn't figured out that Strickler was a changeling he probably wouldn't have a problem with it, but the fact that he does, no matter the reason, should be enough for Barbara to put a stop to the relationship. Her child is clearly uncomfortable with her seeing/dating that guy, for whatever reason, and even clearly vocalized it. But she doesn't care about, or rather, she tells Jim that she "wouldn't expect something like that" from him. Obviously not, cause she may see him like her child/teenager he is, BUT DOESN'T TREAT HIM LIKE ONE.
And then Jim, unknowingly to Barbara, becomes the Trollhunter, and his behavior changes. He's suddenly doing reckless stuff, sneaking out, getting bruises, landing in detention and even at the police station, barely avoiding a police report. What does she do? Asking him what's going on? If everything's alright at school? If he has any other problems? Maybe trying to lower his workload around the house, which again, he's doing most of that as a teenager and longer probably.
Nah. She doesn't do anything until he lands in the hospital. Except for again, dismissing him rather negatively at the one topic he's openly expressing any negative opinions about (Strickler). And after he lands in the hospital she now starts not asking questions, but demanding answers. Demanding answers from a teenager in a difficult situation who is also now acting much more like a teenager than he ever did before, from her point of view at least. Except she obviously doesn't know how to deal with a teenager, cause she has never had to raise or live with a teenager. She instead lived with a child pretending to be an adult for years, that was partly much more of an adult than she was, who did way to much work even before Jim became the Trollhunter. So she throws punishments at him and grounds him, but does he listen?
No. Cause why should he? Not only is he dealing with things much more important than being grounded, yknow, saving the world, he's trying to protect her from the sheer knowledge of the supernatural and physically protecting her from getting harmed. And again, for the majority of the time since his dad left he pretended to be an adult. He was and is the main adult in the household, dealing with important things she doesn't even know about.
The only one's treating Jim like a teenager are teachers, other children and Blinky and Aaargh sort of when they're not in the middle of Troll business. Strickler, in the first episodes where Jim doesn't know about his true identity, is much more of a parental figure to Jim (also after his redemption later on tbh) than his mother.
In summary: Barbara is treating her son like an adult, almost like a partner, instead of a child/teenager. And when that isn't possible anymore she doesn't know how to properly treat him. She also doesn't really care that her son is uncomfortable with her being around Strickler, or Strickler in general. And it takes Blinky telling her (when Jim is 16) that Jim might be affected by his father leaving when he was five years old.
Jim meanwhile is treating his mother more like a child/teenager instead of the adult and MOTHER that she is. Seeing her as his responsibility. Cooking for her. Cleaning for her. Telling her to rest and take breaks.
They obviously love each other other. And their relationship might not be toxic, but it's very much disfunctional. In a way that is mostly negative for Jim.

We all say that we can take Reigen in a fight but we all forget the mad man knows marital arts well enough to knock out a man and is a green belt in Shaolin kung-fu
We wish we could take Reigen in a fight cause there would be nothing more humiliating than losing to this bastard

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

Random Star Wars Rebels stuff/story ideas I thought about: (mostly about Kallus and tiny Jacen)
Kallus babysitting Jacen again when Hera is on another mission
Kallus: (working on codes and stuff while Jacen is playing next to him)
Jacen: Dad, I'm hungry.
Kallus: I just have to finish this, then we can go- (realization, looks down to Jacen) What did you just call me?
Jacen: Dad.
Kallus, now afraid of Heras reaction: (Has an internal breakdown cause this is giving him a lot of mixed feelings for different reasons)
Meanwhile his colleagues are passing money around each other, cause they all had an ongoing bet wether and when this would happen or not.
Kallus in general becoming Jacens main babysitter cause he's mostly working from the rebel base and not going on as much missions as Hera and the others
Hera, right after her birth: Take this Alexsander (hands him the baby), it's better if he gets used to you fast.
Kallus: (holding the baby) Would you mind to explain what you mean by that.
Hera: No.
---------
Kallus, in a mission briefing: (explaining stuff)
Baby Jacen, on his back: Bah !
Sabine and Zeb fighting about baby Jacens atttention but losing to Kallus
Sabine, Zeb and Kallus babysitting Jacen on the Ghost
Sabine: Come to your aunt Sabine, Jacen. Come here.
Zeb: No, no. Your aunt is stupid. Come to uncle Zeb instead.
Sabine: Hey! What the-
Jacen: (crawls to Kallus instead, who fell asleep at the table right after he sat down)
Kallus obviously ends up taking on the father role more or less, and teaching Jacen different things
Hera: Can you explain why Jacen just tackled Zeb to the ground this morning, and how he can explain a blasters construction in detail.
Kallus: Ah well, he annoyed me about learning how to use a blaster for days. And I thought it might be good for him after all to know some self defense. So....
Hera:...
Kallus:...
Hera: Well, that explains it.
Kallus: That's all?
Hera: Good job, he really knocked Zeb out.

Something I noticed in the Dungeon Meshi anime that passed me by in the manga is how Marcille's instructions to Laios in using magic are exactly what you'd expect from someone who has been studying it academically for god knows how long.
Her preparations for teaching him were coming up with/remembering the speech about feeling the mana flowing through your body, and picking out the right spell. But she glossed over the things that wouldn't concern someone who is extremely experienced in healing magic:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How awkward it is to lay hands on someone in order to cast a healing spell
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
MANA SICKNESS, which apparently happens to everyone when they first cast a spell
And it's not like she completely forgot that they're a thing, but it wasn't part of what she was planning on teaching, because everyone already knows that, right? So Marcille just brushes past it, like "oh yeah duh, that's a thing, anyway-".
I love it, perfectly in-character. She's an academic!

The first days (part 1)
After the portal closed, they walked. They didn't really know where, it's not like either Kai or Bonzle had a map for this dimension, but they kept walking. Kai just hoped they wouldn't randomly meet with on of the forbidden five, or four, since one of them swapped places with Kai after all. He didn't like to admit his own weakness, but if the storys about them were true, then there was no way for Kai to beat the four or even just one of them on his own. Especially when he would probably need to protect Bonzle in a fight as well.
"Do you have a plan?", Bonzle asked, pulling him out of his thoughts.
"Find a portal somehow, I guess. Or create a new one. Either way, we should check out how this place works. Aside from the random gravity rules."
Though, to call that a plan was probably to much. More like a general idea to get back to if the chance for it ever comes. Lloyd and the others would be able to deal with the one of the five that escaped, right? So they would be fine eventually, it was all that mattered.
But he wouldn't tell Bonzle that he basically gave up hope to get out of this place. Not after he just told her that 'Ninja never quit' and everything. Just like he never told Nya when they didn't have enough food for the two fo them, or couldn't afford her school materials, after telling her that he earned good money that month.
Lying wasn't very hard for Kai if it meant not making others worry. The situation may be vastly different, but he would adapt. Eventually.
A little voice in his head, honestly sounding a lot like his sister, tried screaming at him how this was one of his many bad habits he should get rid off. But ignoring that voice was another thing he just learned over the years.
He would just have to deal with this situation live gave him. He always did. One way or the other.

Love how Echo came back (FINALLY!!!), had everything they needed for their plan prepared, and proceeded to single-handedly do the work and save the day when they had to change the plan last minute.
And on the other side there's Omega copying him by being 1 hundred precent confident and competent as well. Making plans to escape with the other children. Echo would be so proud.
Like yeah, not much honestly happened this episode, but Echo came back just to be badass and I'm here for it.
