Kinda crazy how much effort has gone into destabilizing Arab countries and ensuring they are always strewn with foreign troops and painting them as warmongering heathen terrorists to westerners…. Kind of sounds like that truly benefits a genocidal entity that would one day want to obliterate an occupied Arab country entirely…….

so much chantry explosion discourse could be avoided if we all recognized the doylist explanation that bioware writers are centrists and anders is their marvel villain called Free-Healthcare Man

hearing officials and public figures criticize biden openly on talk shows and seeing newspaper headlines sharply decry israel killing aid workers is making me feel kind of crazy. like it could've been like this the whole time. before 40,000 palestinians were killed and the infrastructure of gaza destroyed. it could've been like this when people gathered their children in plastic bags at al-ahli hospital, when a poet and his family were assassinated for a joke, when journalists buried their families on air, when children were targeted by drones on camera, when a little boy holding his grandmother's hand in one hand and a white flag in another watched her get shot and die in front of him, when a cameraman was left to bleed out with a live counter for hours while his rescuers were shot, when patients were bulldozed in their tents in the courtyard of a hospital, when four babies were left die and decompose alone in their hospital beds, when six year old hind rajab was crying for help trapped in a car with the corpses of her family on the phone with the red crescent for hours until she and the rescuers sent to get her were killed too.

This is the same thing over and over again. Palestinians die every day, but it gets a lukewarm headline from mainstream media because death and destruction is inherent to Arabness. Then an aid convoy with white workers is obliterated, and now both the president of the United States and the president of Israel are making statements apologizing for “the poor protection of aid workers.” At one point we were seeing multiple reports a day of paramedics from the Palestine Red Crescent Society dying, but nothing. Crickets. Because they don’t care. And even in these “remorseful statements” there is a strategic reminder that white lives hold more weight than brown lives.

What that mean "Angry Arab"? Amy think hear that before but not remember when and what mean.
there is a stereotype in poc communities, where poc are dehumanized because they are seen as "angry" all the time. the "angry arab" stereotype is used against arabs who often express their justified frustration, or sometimes is used against arabs by white people for no reason other than racism (like what happened with me today). i hope that explains it

so i study decolonization, as in i studied it as part of my degree, and i thought I'd make a list of some readings/films that might offer additional insight about decolonization (it also helps if you're tired of the christian moralistic thinking)
occupation 101 (can be found on youtube i believe, it's about the history between isreal and palestine, it focuses on palestinians and it is quite comprehensive. there's live footage, there's interviews with palestinian children, etc. it's a must watch i think, regarding palestine. it points the finger squarely at the united states.)
the wretched of the earth, franz fanon. fanon is really well known in the decolonization sphere because he writes about it in a very succinct and clear way. to him, decolonization can never occur peacefully, and i think that's a really important key lesson. he also talks about how colonizers don't just take land, they reframe ideas, they take language, art, thoughts.
the battle of algiers, 1966. this is a fascinating film, it's sort of a documentary, they got the actual people to play their parts. it describes and interviews the main individuals involved in the fight for independence within Algiers. i think understanding how a nation can gain independence over its colonial forces is really important in the grand scheme of decolonialism.
unthinking eurocentrism. if you can get your hands on it, i love this text. it's so poignant and it lays everything out so clearly and it really shows how we center our worlds around eurocentrism and westernism.

and then to top it off, mcu diehards have the audacity to call us entitled for demanding better. like. ???
The writers in phase 4 saying things like "I never watched the phase 1 movies or read any of the comics" or "we made up the backstory during filming" sounds like "I didn't study or do my homework so you should be very impressed with this C+ project I've done."

agreed. I've actually seen some MCU fans claim that the latter scene depicts Loki canonically having the guard flogged. which... no?? I mean. headcanon and let headcanon, I guess. we don't know for certain that the guard wasn't punished in some way for his lack of haste. but there's no basis for saying it canonically happened. and indeed, "he should be flogged" is odd phrasing if that is actually supposed to have occurred—and at Loki's command no less. so the most plainface reading is that Loki is simply venting his frustration along the lines of saying, "wow, that person could really use a punch in the face." most people saying something to that effect do not actually go and physically assault the person they're referencing. it's an expression of their annoyance, not a command or a statement of intent.
so I suppose when you have a fandom that will wholesale invent crimes Loki hasn't even committed to get outraged about, it isn't surprising to see the same people fall hook, line and sinker for the worst possible framing of things he actually HAS done. but like... bloody hell, lol.
too many people out here thinking Loki’s vice was pride. No, Thor’s vice was pride. Loki’s was envy.

wait no i can't get over that actually. how far removed from reality do you have to be to think that gazans are ultimately oppressed by hamas and not? the people who violently burned their villages and homes down to rubble and forced them in a literal cage and besiged them for decades and routinely bomb, assault and kill them in the little strip they've been confined to and are currently enacting a genocide on them. what the fuck
