Donut Co. Rugtastic Reset Previews! Just some examples on the rugs in game, reshade on, in already built rooms to show you how they look! It is because of this post, and this creator, that i will now be able to do recolors on objects!!! thank you so so so so much @simstic-fairy you're awesome!!! Also huggge thank you to @nicatnite88 for being an amazing freind and showing me this!!!!!

No one asked for this after my last How To about colors; but I thought I'd still post a How To about patterns. That's probably what people wanted anyway lol

Please refer to the last How To to get started

So we have our bed.

Use a select tool to cut out what you want to change. In our case, the top blanket. The polygonal selection tool lets you make more specific shapes to cut out. (Remember, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V)

Go into File Explorer where you have your pattern saved and just drag it into the Krita window.

When you get this pop up, make sure you select New Layer (if you get another pop up just click 'ok')

So now we have our pattern. It's layered to be on top of the blanket but under everything else.

But we need to change the size. So go over to the tool bar and click "Transform a layer or selection" It looks like a square with ruffles around it.

Drag the now selected image into the shape and size you want. Because it's under most things if you size it big it won't show on top of undesired things.

This is the important part for making things actually look good. Go to the right where the layers are listed; make sure your pattern is highlighted. Above the list is a drop down called "Blending Mode", it will say 'normal' before you do anything. So, yeah, click that.

Wow, that's a lot of options! Feel free to mess around with those later and see what happens. Anyway, right now we want "Overlay"

Now you can see the texture, shape, whatever, under the pattern again! But the colors really off? So...

That's because it's blue. So go back to layers and select the blanket (IMPORTANT). Go to the top and click "Filter" under that drop down hover over "Adjust" then choose "Desaturate" click ok.

It got rid of the color!

But it's kinda dark... That doesn't look very good. So, like with our color tutorial, go over and go Filter-Adjust-Dodge, to lighten the blanket (THAT IS SELECTED IN LAYERS)

Here's where you can mess around again. In this example, to get the shading of the blanket to my preference I selected the "Shadows" Mode and dragged around the blue "Exposure" bar to get the lighting exactly where I want it. (The Exposure bar will always start in the center at 50)

Well, that's all the pictures I have of that... Oops lol
