#art #artists on tumblr #hfjone #liam hfjone #and my commenting on the drawing process: #(in the order of top left-top right-bottom) #the first drawing was around the time i watched the cohost au videos on youtube (froggyribbit) #i just wanted to see how i could try and make the two liams different with color and shape differences #though funnily enough i think the cohost was closer to canon liam shape wise #the second drawing was just me trying out the adjusted palette for liam and doing doodles in styles i vaguely remembered traits from #except for the one with eyes. which just happened. #the third drawing was me trying to clothe objects. for about half an hour i was trying to figure out how you would get a shirt on liam #without it covering his straps and thinking what specific adjustments would have to be made for his clothes #before i remembered how button-ups work and that he could just slip the shirt through his straps ('ah. wait')

#art #artists on tumblr #hfjone #airy hfjone #and my commenting on the drawing process: #(does this technically count one of those scene redraws..? im not quite sure but i guess the answer might be yes?) #another thing from paint! #this time i tried using the line tools- which i think worked quite well! #i also used reference #which i dont usually do but should probably start using more often because reference does wonders to helping do art-- #after i finished up doing the whole thing in paint i took it to firealpaca to give it some subtle gradients #theyre very subtle gradients- but i think despite that it helps make the image look a little nicer #also put my sig in firealpace while doing the gradients because i didnt want to open up paint again-- #overall: im pretty satisfied with this! #also made me realize (again-) that i should use ref more and maybe try doing more scene redraws maybe? #anyways the next thing im going to post here is the part of this scene where his head shatters <3 #(<- joking. though i might actually try drawing him shattering- i want to see how to arrange the shards for it)

imagine the shade was like a hat (a silly one for sure- here I wanted to draw them with more detailed limbs. mainly inspired by a point on this post but also by some other forehead jokes i vaguely remember.)

#art #artists on tumblr #hfjone #airy hfjone #liam hfjone #and my commenting on the drawing process: #this is actually a bit of a mix with different things #for one the limb thing- though it is a bit more character specific i kinda like the idea of limbs a bit more based on their object material #though i might throw ideas of object-specific customizations and some more animal features into the mix because they seem fun :D #for lineart its kind of a compromise between wanting clean looking lines but also not having to go through the pains of ctrl + z... #...and just letting lines be sketchy but also cleaning them up where i wanted #while not exactly new the shading for the characters is based a bit on the shading method ive used before that i had forgotten completely #and i think i could be trying this method again more its a nice shading method and i think it looks nice here #and hey! a background #something ill admittedly need more practice with to get a better sense of characters interacting with their environment #plus landscape arts are quite pretty. id like to make at least one this year maybe. #i rambled on here long enough so ill be cutting it off here-! <:D

he shrunk in the dryer :( (i wanted to do something a little more simple[?] for this one. the airbrushing tip here gave me a bit of inspiration, and those chibi arts with the colored lines popped into my head and led to this.)
