May I ask what the process is for coloring your animations and what programs you guys use?
Hi! Sorry for answering so late.
We're using Paint Tool Sai for the process from sketching to coloring.
I usually start coloring the base colors to every frame and then add shadows on a different layer(s). I put shadows on first, last and middle frames and then start to grow them to other frames too by copying and playing with opacity. After shadowing I add a layer for highlights and maybe one or two more for soft lights and shadows. Sometimes I do the soft lights and shadows first. It's sometimes easier to find the right places for lights and shadows by making the soft ones first. I actually still suck with shadows, so Gry is helping me with them a lot.
There isn't any actual process I always use, but this has been something that has developed during this project. I bet there's a bunch of a lot better ways to do this...
I hope this helped even a little, but if it didn't, I can try to make a tutorial C:

It is finally out!
We'll be continuing the project next spring, so before that, we'll be expecting some comments. So please let us know how you feel and thank you so much for being supportive and patient.
Woosh, this is so relieving.

Only few days left
Wow. It's really happening! Almost everything for the trailer is done and we'll spend the next weekend putting it all together.
We're all exhausted and would totally need a massage. So the next weeks rest from the animation (not from school though..) is more than welcome.
Before resting, we'll release the long waited trailer! Yay!

Getting better
I'm now working with the scene that will totally be the most coolest part of the animation so far. I've learned so much during our process, and today I understood one really simple thing that makes this whole thing so much easier, faster and more comfortable to draw.
I'm having a good feeling about this, so I wanted to share this useless sketch of myself with you.

Hi. Gry and Riini posted their stuff in the blog so my fingers got tingly too, but I'm working with some scenes that I don't want to spoil for you yet. So here. I did a thing. Thing is cute.

Kahvinkeitin näyttää lähikuvassa erilaiselta, nappi on erissä kohti mitä tuossa kauempaa otetussa taustassa näyttää olevan, muotokin on siin jotenki pyöreempi.
>- Riini

The black blobs are way too adorable and the animation looks amazing so far >v
First of all, thank you for following us! It's really nice to get comments and see that people are actually interested in what we're doing.Well the blobs we're supposed to be nasty little creatures, but they ended up being cute and annoying. They're really fun to draw! And yes, this is a school project which got out of hands. We thought that this would be nice little project to do for a mediaproject, but now we have noticed that this "little project" was a bit more of work than only for this course. Now we're doing trailer to show in school's "Showtime" and then we'll continue making the rest of the animation C:
Kiitos

So the only guy who has ever taught anything about animation to us (our animation teacher ofc.), popped us a question about our names. Surely he knows who are behind all this, but maybe someone else might be interested too!
We're going to update our informations a bit, but here's who we are:
Grypwolf - Jonna Koskelo - jonna.koskelo[at]gmail.com
Nuut - Ella Kukkola - kukkola.ella[at]gmail.com

Curtains hate me. And I'm still trying to figure out what to do with that messy hair but thank god he's going to tidy himself up soon.
