Nobody is saying that Stolas had a perfect life? It's not that what he went throught wasn't shitty, but we're sick that everyone else's suffering is put to the side for his sake. The post right here is an example that Octavia's wants and needs are pushed to the side for the sake of forcing her to be involved with her father's private life in a way that no child should be, and it sickens me. And i'm not saying that i don't want for him and Octavia to not have a good relationship, It's just that HE needs to put in the effort instead of just neglecting her all the time (if you want examples, go watch the two episodes that are centered around her). Now, i just want you to know that i'm not gonna change my mind on this, and i'm sure you won't either when it comes to your opinion of this, but i'm just trying to explain myself here

Why do they keep involving this poor girl in her father's messes? Why is it that every time she shows up in an episode, she's never allowed to be herself without him being involved in some way?

She deserved so much more then what this show has given her, and i hope that those season 2 ending leaks aren't real (not the one were they're in front of Andrealphous's castle as unfortunely i'm pretty sure that's real). And she deserved better then just being told that she needs to "cut him some slack" or that he had "no choice" when it came to choosing Blitzø over her right to her face.

Octavia and Verosika did NOTHING wrong. Octavia has the right to not like her dad who ignored and neglected her in order for his one-sided affair. Verosika has the right to hate Blitzo (to quote my queen Veroska) maxed out her credit card on shitty horse riding lessons and left her to pay for the hotel. Octavia got called a COCK BLOCKING SLUT by one of the CREATORS OF HELLUVA BOSS! And Verosika constantly gets called a bitch, slut, or whore. I love Octavia and Verosika, they have done no wrong and I am taking them from Vivziepop.

Also Verosika looks so good in the outfits the Helluva Boss team puts her in and I’m supposed to hate her? No fuck that I love her so much and she has probably one of the best or the best design out of all the Helluva Boss characters.

Octavia also deserves a better dad. She’s also got an actually pretty cool design, she’s just a little silly who has also has a great voice actor!

Also baby Octavia! She’s so cute :). I love her so much and she deserves so much more than Stolas. AND THEN SHE GETS CALLED A COCK BLOCKING SLUT. SHE’S FUCKING 17. Overall I love them, Octavia is just a little silly and Verosika is my queen.

Even if he is, to me It's still a pretty distasteful joke. I mean i guess if this was the show that it was originally intented to be (a cynical/dark comedy web series) i guess i would just move past it but the fact that we're talking about a conflict that we're supposed to take seriously... Yeah, i honestly would have prefered it had he atleast made it about an adult character like Stella or something

Yep, It's Just Practically Official The Makers Just See Octavia As Manipulative Emotional Tool To Make Stolas Look Good And Disregard Her When She Gets In The Way Of Their Treasured Ship

This is supposed to be a joke, but in execution we all now Octavia at this point is just a tool to make Stolas look like a "good" dad when in practice he's putting Blitzo over her so much that it's not funny. Wasn't one of Octavia's fears is that her father will abandon her in order to pursue Blitzo.

With that comment that Brandon Rogers did it just confirms to me that at this point they are putting Stolitz so much over everything else that yes even Octavia is seen as an obstacle even though a parent's child should be more important than their booty call. And the fandom and the creators prioritize the other way around.

Seriously, in "Seeing Stars" we see him again neglect her when she wanted to keep his promise to see the stars. Also despite saying it's important to find her he slows down to watch his boy toy perform. In other words, he's all false words until next time when he breaks a promise or continues to be a lackluster dad. But we are supposed to give him slack because he's supposed to be trying hard or again invoking Stella in order to make him look good. Boy can barely do the bare minimum for his daughter without messing up and looking like a selfish pos.

And people want to point to this line as a sign of how much he loves Octavia, but again like everything else it's emotional manipulative bs when you realize in practice he has all of the power and could more easily break up. Sure, it would have be a shock to a young child but since Octavia is born he could have just packed up and kicked her ass rather than wallow in his self-pity while finally getting with his imp toy. Stella was made an obstacle from the start so that we would feel less sorry when he was cheating on her with Blitzo. However, it gets less sympathetic when we see how it affects Octavia and it makes him come across as a selfish asshole. At first the first season was condemning them, but nope season 2 basically makes him sad misunderstood woobie who can't do no wrong including ignore his daughter in favor of focusing on Blitzo.

It's funny that Loona isn't joked as an obstacle to Stolitz like Octavia is. It's probably because Octavia grew up with a married family and again doesn't like ramifications that come with the changes. One of them includes the fact that her father only pays attention to his crush while putting her on the backburner. And again despite the fandom saying Octavia and Blitzo would get along this joke panders to the idea that squashes it if Blitzo sees her as an obstacle to their relationship. And you know if it was the other way around Blitzo would be furious anyone would see Looney as an obstacle. And so would Stolas, but we know that in actual practice he would choose prioritizing Blitzo over his daughter and the narrative will say other wise.

I feel like if this show was good and actually portrayed an affair well, we’d have more scenes where the sex transaction goes on while the camera stays on the family portrait/pictures of stolas with Octavia. More scenes where Octavia texts her dad, he’s about to reply then notices blitz texts him and responds to that one first. The hospital scene, he asks Blitzø to visit and gets no response, he turns his phone on silent, turns over in his bed with his back to it, and laments over Blitzo, only for it to light up behind him the instant he turned his back.

Octavia: DAD?? Dad-What happened ??

Octavia: I saw in the news you were stabbed what the fuck

Octavia: Mum is acting weird I don’t understand!!! I thought knives don’t hurt you this bad ??

Octavia: Dad are you okay?! Please answer!!

Octavia: I just ran out of school, what hospital are you in??? Please PLEASE just say if you’re ok

(Some kids of divorced who witnessed parental infidelity may relate to this scenario)

Octavia comes home early one weekend because her uncle is making her uncomfortable, and she forgot some of her video games or CDs, only to hear her dad behind the door cursing, knocking things over in his haste (think of the tv and cereal scene in Ozzies) and answers the door disheveled, wearing strange leather, and looking like he really wants her to not be there right now. Hiding partly behind the door, insisting she stay right there and does not come in (to her own home) and he’ll fetch whatever it is she needs for her.

He takes a long time and she loses her patience “it’s my room dad, I know where my stuff is, it’ll be faster” and she enters the palace ignoring his meek protests. Only to see a mess leading the path to his room, and an imps tail slithering around a corner hiding from her as stolas shoves the other man behind the bedroom door.

Blitzø: WHY is she here??! You said she leaves at the weekend and I told you I’m not doing this shit with your damn kid around.

Stolas: I’m sorry Blitzy but it’s not as if I can control that girl?! You know how impulsive she is. This is probably her mothers doing, that damned witch just wants to turn her against me. Wait where are you—don’t get dressed!! No please please Blitzy (there’s a scuffle)

Blitzø: Hands off me! I didn’t sign up for some unprompted melodrama spat at me. I got other clients besides you. The murdering kind.

Stolas starts to cry, his voice cracking, the balcony doors can be heard locking: No. No, not if you want my grimoire. I’ll send her on her way…I’ll make sure she goes.

Blitzø: Are you crazy?! Don’t lock me in here—-STOL—

Via doesn’t wait to hear the rest, she leaves the palace in a hurry, tears streaming and her hands pressed against her heart as if it’s been stabbed. Her chariot races off leaving stolas in the dust looking deeply pained and conflicted.
