Wonderful Feeling - Jinyoung
January 4th. Mark
Tumblr media
January 5th. Jinyoung
After yesterday’s exhausting basketball game with Mark, you felt like a zombie when you got out of bed. Your next date, Jinyoung was waiting for you by an art museum at 10 in the morning so you really had no time to feel sorry for yourself and for your aching body. Since it was an indoor date, you risked wearing the dress that BamBam bought especially as he mentioned it’s Jinyoung’s taste.
Some people might have freaked out if they hear the date is going to be in a museum, as it can get boring. But you were excited as not a lot of people appreciate history and art, especially not from the people who are around your age. Since you felt so tired from last night and a museum visit also consists of a lot of walking, you decided to take a taxi to the museum. You were a few minutes early and for your surprise, Jinyoung was already there. Thanks to BamBam you already knew how he looked like so you couldn’t miss him, though it would have been hard to miss such a dashing guy.
Jinyoung for sure looked like a handsome actor right out from a romantic movie. The way he was standing there, leaning to the wall, looking down at his phone, made you think he will probably not be as easy going as the other guys were before him. His outfit was preppy and he was just overall picture perfect. All of these observations made you feel even more nervous, so the way you approached him was kind of like as if you were preparing to meet with a shark, that happened to be really handsome.
You stopped in front of him, clearing your throat, in return he quickly looked up from his phone and as you faced him, he took your breath away even more.
“Jinyoung?” You asked and when he heard his name, he sweetly smiled at you, resulting in all your worries flying away. His smile was so warm, especially how small wrinkles formed around his large round eyes.
“Yes, so I guess you are y/n,” he said and he extended his hand which you shook. “The guys were right... you are really pretty. And this dress nicely suits you,” he said and was he was blushing a bit. A guy like him? Blushing? Because of you? You couldn’t believe it.
“Little birds chirped that this dress might be your style,” you said with a smile. Jinyoung nodded, still smiling.
“Well I would never wear something like this, but you are right,” he chuckled at his own lame joke. Okay, you were definitely not intimidated by him anymore as he had such a lame sense of humor.
“Oh well, I thought I might let you know where I got this from if you ever wanted to match with me,” you said sarcastically and he laughed out loud.
“I think we are going to have a great time today,” he said with a relieved sigh.
The two of you walked through the security check and inside the museum you gave your coats in the cloakroom. You took a map of the museum, but Jinyoung seemed to know already where he is going. There was a special exhibition of Claude Monet’s works that was only displayed for a few weeks. It was on the third floor, so you had to climb up large steps and passing by many great exhibitions that were there on a regular basis.
“After we finished here we can try to look around the whole museum. But since it just opened there won’t be that many people at the Monet exhibition yet,” said Jinyoung as he noticed your gaze looking at different rooms with other great artwork. Monet was an extremely popular painter so you could imagine how a huge crowd would form later that day.
“Do you often go to museums?” You asked him and he shook his head.
“My time doesn’t allow it that much, but I do like to go to museums. Especially when I’m in a foreign country because that’s one of the best ways to learn about a country’s history and culture,” he said and you could tell he was intelligent and thoughtful.
“I would like to go to museums more often but there aren’t that many people who would actually come with me. And alone it’s kind of depressing,” you said.
“I agree with you, alone it’s not as much fun but you have to bring the right person who will appreciate the time spending on artwork and historical artifacts. And I think I just found my new museum partner,” he said with a cheeky smile as he looked at you. This made you blush and not be able to say anything for the next few seconds.
You finally arrived at the Monet exhibition but despite going so early, there were already a lot of people. You got almost pushed away by a group of people who were listening to a tour guide so you grabbed onto Jinyoung’s arm to not lose him in the crowd. This caught him by surprise but when he realized why you grabbed onto his arm, he properly held your hand with his, guiding you through the crowd.
“This is amazing,” he gasped as you stopped in front of Monet’s Impression, Sunrise painting. “Did you know that this painting was the start of what we call now Impressionist painters?” He asked and you shook your head. “Well since the title says it, Impression, a French critic used this word to describe the style and since then other painters during this time adopted the word,” he explained and the way he talked about these facts made his eyes shine. He was truly fascinated by it and had much knowledge of the subject.
“I think it looks great, much better than I expected. But definitely smaller than I thought. Like compared to his Water Lilies series, that is just huge,” you said, looking at those paintings displayed in the room.
“Definitely smaller. Same thing as with Mona Lisa. Though when I checked it out I already knew what to expect but still the feeling of disappointment was in me,” he said while putting his hand on his heart, acting out how it hurt his feelings. You chuckled at his act and after that, he let out an embarrassed laugh.
“I can’t believe you saw Mona Lisa in real life,” you noted and he shrugged.
“My job has some benefits, like going to different countries once in a while,” he replied.
You moved on to the Water Lillies series, which took you some minute to process it all. The two of you were quietly standing next to each other, thinking about the different things that you noticed in the large painting. People, however, kept on bumping into you, which wasn’t that pleasant. Jinyoung noticed that people started to crowd your spot, so in a protective way, he put his arm around your shoulder so people can’t push you aside. This move looked so natural to him as if it was no big deal, but for you and your heart, it was a big deal. You kept on blushing and you no longer had the ability to focus on the painting. When you were busy collecting yourself, Jinyoung took a quick glance at you and how you were affected by his touch and it made him smile.
After you finished looking at the Monet paintings, you headed down to the museum’s cafe to get some refreshments. Jinyoung, like the gentleman he is, didn’t let you pay any won. When you sat down across each other by a large window, that’s when you noticed how it was pouring outside.
“Wow, you had your picnic date with Mark hyung just on the right day,” he noted.
“For sure, I wouldn’t have like to get all wet, but now it doesn’t matter,” you replied.
“I hope it will stop by the time we finish... I didn’t bring an umbrella,” he sighed and you thought you will probably just take a taxi. “Oh by the way, now that I got reminded of Mark hyung he told me that he failed to ask for your number because he ran away for some reason, so he wants me to give him your number,” he said with a laugh. You started smiling too as you thought about what happened last night.
“Yes, he felt embarrassed,” you said and Jinyoung shook his head while still smiling.
“Though now that I think about it, I might keep your number to myself,” he said cheekily and you laughed.
“Don’t be so sure that I give it to you, the date is not over yet,” you teased him and he took a deep sigh.
“Okay I will try my best to earn your phone number,” he said and he put his hand on his heart to swear for it.
After you finished eating and drinking in the cafe, you headed to other exhibitions to see what other great items the museum holds. It was surprising how much Jinyoung knew about so many different historical times. He did admit that this great knowledge came from reading so many books and how he just randomly looked up things on the internet.
You never had such this level of deep conversation with anyone before, and you could just talk to him or listen to him talking for hours. But then everything needs to come to an end. The museum was closing but Jinyoung quickly disappeared in the gift shop and then he came back with a small bag.
“This is for you, to remember our date,” he said and you took out the gift from the bag which was a handmade bookmark inspired by Monet’s Water Lillies.
“Thank you, this is lovely,” you said while you examined the thin but beautiful bookmark.
“I’m glad you like it,” he said as he patted your head, making your heart skip a beat once again. You could tell he enjoyed making your heart flutter.
When you got outside, it was still raining heavily. Jinyoung took off his coat and put it above both of you, telling you to get closer to him. As he shielded you from the rain, waiting to catch a taxi, you noticed a Japanese restaurant on the other side of the road.
“Don’t you want to have dinner with me, there?” You asked and a smile appeared on his face.
“I thought you’ll never ask,” he said with a chuckle and you giggled at his response.
You had sushi while drinking wine and you told him a lot of things about yourself, mainly about your childhood. He seemed to be in a nostalgic mood as he listened closely to your words while he was also excited to share stories from his childhood.
After that, you took a taxi together. You felt the wine going in your head so you felt a little drowsy. You ended up putting your head on Jinyoung’s broad shoulder and he didn’t mind it at all.
When you arrived at your house, Jinyoung asked for the taxi driver to wait for him. You were standing in the rain but he still asked for your number.
“Hm, I’m not too sure if I should give it to you..” you said acting hesitant to tease him.
“Do you want me to get on my knees and beg?” He asked and you shook your head.
“Here, but I hope you are not only asking for it to give it to Mark.”
“Well if I will give it to him... I need to think about that,” he laughed. Then when he realized he made the driver wait too long, he held out his arms to embrace you in a tight hug. You never felt such a warm and sincere hug before. It was truly healing. In the meantime, Jinyoung gave a kiss on the top of your head, then he went back to the taxi. You waved to each other until the car was completely out of sight.

Hours Gone By - Mark
January 3rd. BamBam
Tumblr media
January 4th. Mark
Just as BamBam told you last night, Mark wanted to meet you in an outdoor activity. He chose a perfect day for it as it wasn’t that cold like in the previous days, however, you still had to dress warm enough to endure the breeze. Your best friend texted you that Mark is waiting for you by the Han river at noon for lunch. Well, Han river is vast and has many spots where people meet up, but in the following text, she told you that he will be by the convenience store. There weren’t that many stores by the river’s main park so you kind of guessed which one he is talking about.
It took you only thirty minutes to get there as you took the subway. Since you were on time, you didn’t expect Mark to be there already. You were right about that as he was late by 15 minutes.
“So sorry for being late,” he said while he was trying to catch his breath.
“Don’t worry about it, at least it’s not too cold outside today,” you smiled at him which made him feel relieved.
“Before we go and sit down do you want to get something from the store? I prepared a little food but I don’t think that will be enough,” he said while looking at the bag he had in his hand.
“That’s really nice of you that you brought food,” you said excitedly but then both of you decided to get some snacks and Mark made ramen for himself.
After you finished with the shopping, you tried to find a nice spot where there weren’t too many people and you got a good view of the river. Thankfully, it was easy to find a place just like that as for many people this weather was still not ideal for a picnic.
Mark took out a blanket from his backpack, which he laid down on the grass, then he carefully put down the food and a big thermos that you guessed had some warm drink in it.
“The restaurant is ready, Miss,” he said as he imitated a waiter. This made you giggle and he knew he was on the right track.
“Wow, did you make all of these?” you asked as you looked at all the gimbap that was in the container.
“Yes, I did. I also have some warm tea here, so please just take whatever you want,” he replied and without hesitation, you picked up one gimbap and started eating it. The taste was great as he used delicious and fresh ingredients.
“I would have never thought that in January I’m going to have an outdoor picnic date by the river,” you said as you were still amazed by all the things Mark prepared.
“We are lucky that the weather is good today. It was made just for the two of us,” he said cheesily which resulted in him bursting into an embarrassing giggle. It was hard for you to not notice how cute he was.
“In my past dates I haven’t been outside that much so it’s great to get some fresh air and sunshine,” you told him and he suddenly put down his cup of ramen.
“Oh, this reminds me of. It might sound cheesy or pushing the boundaries, but I think it’s beautiful how the sunlight is shining on you... do you mind if I take a picture of you?” He asked timidly but you shook your head.
“I don’t mind it, just show it to me. And if I look unacceptable then you have to delete it,” you made him pinky promise it. Then he took out his camera and snapped three pictures of you. After that, he showed you the results and he looked at the pictures with admire in his eyes. “You made me look prettier than I actually am.”
“Ah come on, y/n, I think you are really pretty even without the sun shining down on you,” he replied before you could continue talking down about yourself. “But I gotta admit the rays make you look like even more of an angel.”
“Well I think between the two of us, you are the angel as you prepared all this stuff for today,” you said and he started to blush.
“It’s really nothing. I’m just happy that I can spend some time with someone that I’m just getting to know. After a while it gets boring to be with the guys,” he laughed which implied that he loves them regardless, but it’s good to meet new people. “By the way, BamBam couldn’t shut up about you yesterday which wasn’t cool of him as we all promised we are not going to talk about the dates.”
“BamBam seems like that type of person who just can’t keep the words inside him,” you chuckled as you thought about how even on the previous day he kept on dropping information about stuff he wasn’t supposed.
“Yeah sometimes he can be really annoying, but of course I adore him a lot. He pretty much grew up in front of my eyes and I consider him my little brother, so I really can’t be mad at him,” he smiled softly while he thought about his dongsaeng.
“That’s great how all of you are so close to each other,” you said and he nodded.
“I consider myself lucky that I was able to meet these guys. But hey let’s talk more about you. Even though BamBam already shared so much, I feel like there is still a lot for me to learn,” he said with a playful wink and that made your heart beat faster.
The two of you kept on talking for hours. It was already four pm when you realized it was starting to get a little colder as you were getting closer to the night.
“I can’t believe that time went by this fast...” sighed Mark as he looked at his watch. You emptied out even the last bit of tea from the thermos. You now had neither food nor any drinks. “But I don’t want to say goodbye yet... there is a basketball court close by and I happen to have a basketball in this magic bag. What do you say?” He asked while he was really hoping for you to stay longer with him.
“That sounds great!” You said cheerfully and Mark quickly got up to pack up everything while you picked up all the garbage that you didn’t want to leave behind.
After ten minutes of walking, you arrived at a basketball court. There were barely any people playing as it was still work and school time. Mark took out his basketball from his bag while you got yourself ready for another sports embarrassment. Third time this week.
“I don’t think that I’m such a good player,” you admitted but Mark shrugged.
“I don’t consider myself a good player either. But hey, this is not the NBA's, we are just here to have fun so don’t worry,” he said to ease your worrying.
For almost an hour you kept on playing against each other. At first, each of you had ten chances and to whoever had the least scores, that person had to post an embarrassing picture on social media. Surprisingly that person was Mark.
“But hey, you didn’t go easy on me, right?” You confronted him but he put his hands up in protest.
“I swear to God you were just simply this good,” he said which made you laugh. Then he proceeded to take one of the ugliest selfies of our time, but still, he managed to look handsome.
“Wow, how can you look this good even from this angle?” You asked, truly amazed by him.
“I guess I was just born with it,” he replied while he flipped his non-existent long hair.
“Okay but this time let’s try to block each other’s attacks,” you suggested and Mark put up a thumbs up.
“I might hurt you so be prepared,” he said which now sounded a little darker compared to how cute he was a few minuted before.
“Oh, the real Mark is finally starting to show,” you teased him and he wiggled his eyebrows as an answer and when you were not paying attention, he took the ball from you. When it registered in your brain what just happened, you quickly turned around and started to chase after him.
“Yaa Mark Tuan!” You yelled but he was just loudly giggling as he was running away and then getting the ball right in the hoop.
“Next time pay close attention,” he said while he pointed at your eyes with two of his fingers.
“Okay then what if I get your attention away,” you said, getting closer to him. First, he looked like he cannot be bothered but when you got way too close to him, as only a few centimeters were between your faces, Mark’s hold on the ball got weaker which was the perfect moment to steal it from him. Then you started running towards the other hoop, Mark closely behind you.
“You can’t seduce me like this, it’s not fair!” He shouted but you managed to go all the way to the other side and get the ball in the hoop.
“I didn’t do anything, you are just imagining things,” you shrugged and Mark rolled his eyes.
“Nice try, but I won’t give up this easily,” he replied.
For thirty minutes you were playing around like this, chasing, teasing, and laughing at each other. You had such a good time with him that you didn’t even notice how fast time has gone by.
“I should head home now, it’s really dark outside,” you said as the two of you were sitting on the concrete, feeling exhausted. It was already dark and cold. On the river, you could see the lights reflecting from the city, which made the waves look colorful.
“I will take you home,” he said and you looked at him questioningly. “I mean I don’t have a car, but I can take the subway with you and walk you home, to make sure you get back safely,” he added and you melted away just by how caring he was.
“Okay, then let’s go,” you said and the two of you walked to the subway. On the way to your home, you didn’t talk as much as you both felt exhausted. Instead, you were trying to fight off the sleepiness.
Once you got to your house, it almost seemed like as if Mark didn’t want to go home.
“I really enjoyed my day with you,” he said with a sleepy voice and it just made him even cuter.
“I had a great time too. Thanks for the food and the tea,” you mentioned again and he just smiled softly at you. Then he suddenly leaned in to plant a kiss on your cheek. When he saw your widened eyes, he realized what he had done just now. The embarrassment was taking over him in form of a tomato red face and sweat forming on his forehead during that cold winter night.
“I guess I should go, good night!” he said with a higher pitched voiced and he started to back away then he jogged towards the subway station. That was one of the cutest reactions of your life.
“Good night,” you shouted after him and he suddenly turned back to wave at you with a big smile, then he continued to make his embarrassed home run.

The Best Thing I Ever Bought - BamBam
January 2nd. Youngjae
Tumblr media
January 3rd. BamBam
The Eevee was softly smiling at you when you opened your eyes in the next morning. You replayed some moments in your mind from the date and for a second you almost forgot that you are meeting someone else again. Your best friend reminded you with a text message in which she told you the time and location of the next date.
When you checked out the address, you were surprised that BamBam wanted to meet you in a mall. You thought it’s a bit odd but it might be good to get a rest from all the sports and games and just have fun looking around in stores. Besides malls always have a good variety of food to eat from.
You quickly jumped out of bed and got ready for the date. This time you decided to be a little more stylish as your friend warned you BamBam most likely will end up dressing up in Gucci clothes and flashy accessories from head to toe. This made you a little worried as you looked at your closet with all the brandless average looking clothes you owned. Still, you managed to dig out a decent looking outfit that could have passed for something that came from a famous brand.
Before you left your room, you took one last glance at the Eevee, and then you rushed out to catch your bus on time.
The bus got into a little traffic as it was still early and people were leaving for work. You texted your best friend that she should let BamBam know that you will be late. In return, she texted that he will be late too. Off to a good start.
Fifteen minutes late and you arrived at the entrance to the mall. The morning sun was beautifully shining, making it hard for you to look at the clear sky. There were no clouds to be seen but it didn’t really matter as you were most likely to spend your whole day in the mall.
While you were lost in your thoughts about the beautiful weather, a boy a few meters away noticed you and kept on checking you out. He was looking at his phone and a description of you, which he tried to match with the real flesh and bones. At last, he decided it must be who he is looking for, so he approached you.
“Are you y/n?” The tall and skinny figure appeared, blocking the sun. At first, you didn’t know what to make out of him as it was just a regular college-aged guy in a shirt and a backpack. In addition with extra skinny and ripped jeans that made his already thin legs look like sticks. But his face though, it was different but very handsome. He looked nervous and so were you.
“Yes, I’m waiting for a date,” you said with a little hesitance in your tone.
“Oh I’m BamBam, you are waiting for me,” he said now with a big smile on his face. He looked relieved but his outfit was different from what you expected.
“Sorry to mention this but my friend told me you might dress into something expensive looking so at first I didn’t think it’s you,” you explained nervously as you were afraid he might think that you were a materialistic girl.
“Well she is right I do tend to dress in trendy and expensive clothes but I didn’t want to get people’s attention on me and make you feel uncomfortable so I dressed more like a regular guy. But don’t worry, I have money, I’m not as broke as I look,” he added and you shook your head.
“Don’t worry about it, that’s not why I asked. You could have 1000 won on your bank account and I would still be happy to date you,” you replied but then you realized this might have sounded pushy.
“Great then! It was already hard to choose something normal looking from my closet so I’m glad it did the job,” he laughed and you thought how weird it is that you tried to get something fancy looking out of your closet to look more luxurious than you are actually, while BamBam did exactly the opposite. “Should we get coffee? I can’t start my day without it,” he said with a sigh.
Inside you found a small Kakao Friends themed cafe where he bought iced americano for both of you, while you ordered some pastries for breakfast.
“So did you like the date with Jackson hyung and Youngjae hyung?” He asked and you almost choked on your coffee. You were surprised he didn’t only know their names but he also called them hyung which indicated that they must be close.
“You guys know each other?” You asked with wide eyes and for a second he didn’t answer.
“Oops, maybe you weren’t supposed to know? I don’t know. I think it’s fair of you to know that we are all friends. But don’t worry, we didn’t talk about the dates. They refused to say anything. That’s the rule. It’s just happened that your best friend’s friend knows all seven of us,” he explained but that didn’t make you feel a lot better.
“But if a miracle happens and I do end up with one of you, that’s going to be a bit awkward,” you said while thinking about all the different scenarios.
“Don’t worry y/n, nobody will make it awkward. One date is just a date like a friendly meet up. But you have to be careful. Because if you choose one of us and it doesn’t work out after almost getting in a relationship with that person and you choose someone else from us, then yes that will be awkward,” he warned you and you sighed deeply. Suddenly the pastry wasn’t tasting too good.
“So I need to make a smart decision,” you said and he nodded.
“Exactly, but don’t worry. Finish up your breakfast and then we can begin our shopping session, which is almost like therapy from all the stress,” he added and you quickly finished your breakfast even though you felt like throwing up.
The two of you started to look around on the first floor of the mall where you checked out different clothing stores. BamBam tried on some outfits and every time he came out of the fitting room he asked your honest opinion. Well for sure he had a bold and expensive taste and everything he put on he looked great in. And he knew it.
“Y/n I think this outfit is really dope, don’t you think?” He asked and you nodded in agreement. In a different case, you would have been utterly bored and fed up with a guy’s vanity but BamBam was entertaining and you couldn’t tell anything bad about him.
“So far, whatever you put on made you look like a model, so if you buy something similar to a garbage bag, you could make that your own too,” you told him which made him feel really proud.
“I guess I should bring you with me whenever I go shopping,” he replied and you chuckled.
“Please do, I’m actually having fun.”
After he chose a couple of clothes for himself, he helped to refresh your outfit a little bit. He begged you to try clothes even that were out of your comfort zone. Well, not necessarily those kinds of clothes, but more like the ones you would never think they would fit you. But BamBam had great eyes for these kinds of things.
“Wow, I look like a different person,” you said as you checked out your reflection in the mirror. BamBam sat in a comfortable chair with a smug smile on his face.
“I told you, just ask the pro,” he said but if you wouldn’t have seen him in luxurious clothes like thirty minutes before, you wouldn’t have believed that he is an expert with his college boy look.
“I really like this dress, but I don’t have money to buy it,” you said with a bit of a sad expression.
“Ah, don’t worry about that. If you want it I can buy it for you. At least I would be happy to know that I helped you in dressing better,” he said as he looked at the clothes that you were wearing regularly.
“Come on, I can’t look that bad,” you said, but when you looked into the mirror after wearing all those nice clothes going back to the more shabby ones, you had to agree with BamBam. “Anyway, I can’t accept that offer. It’s nice of you but that would be too much.”
“Y/n, don’t worry about it. Let’s just say I’m doing a favor for you... and for your closet,” he replied and you shook your head.
“Absolutely not...”
“Half price?”
“BamBam! And even half price is too expensive for me,” you sighed.
“Y/n, look at all my bags... your dress doesn’t even cost as much as that shirt I bought for myself, and that’s only one out of ten others,” BamBam pointed at one of the Chanel bags.
“But I would feel like I owe you with this much money,” you protested even more.
“Okay, if you really don’t want it. But I’m sure Jinyoung hyung would have loved this dress on you...”
“Who?” You asked as the name was familiar but in that second you didn’t exactly know who is he talking about.
“One of my hyungs that you will have a date with, after tomorrow, I think. This outfit is just his style. Here look how handsome he is,” BamBam said while taking out his phone and showing you a picture, well, probably of Jinyoung. You got really surprised when you saw it.
“Okay, is there anyone of you who is not handsome? Like did you all become friends because you were top visuals?” You said, amazed. BamBam chuckled.
“Well if you ask me Youngjae hyung is not that typical handsome guy, but...”
“Hold on mister, Choi Youngjae is really handsome, don’t you dare talk like that about him,” you suddenly got all defensive especially at how you suddenly got reminded of the previous day you had with him.
“I didn’t say he wasn’t handsome at all, we are all are. But he is just not that typical flower boy like Jinyoung hyung and Mark hyung is,” he explained.
“Wait, is Mark the one who I’m meeting tomorrow? Can you show me his picture?”
“Absolutely not. I already went against our rules as I talked way too much about them and even showed you a picture of Jinyoung hyung,” he replied hiding his phone away in his back pocket.
“Fine...”
“So should we go to the cashier?”
“We are not buying that dress!”
“Yes, we are not. I am buying it, come on, stop whining,” he said and you lost your patience.
“But I’m buying lunch for us then,” you replied and BamBam happily nodded.
“You see, this is how we do business here,” he laughed and you got annoyed but at the same time, you were also thankful to him.
After he finally bought the dress for you, it was time for lunch. He dragged you to a Thai restaurant and told you all the special food and drinks you had to try. As he is Thai himself, he was an expert at this topic too. When you got your order you started to eat and that’s when you realized how hungry you were. Sure shopping can be exhausting too. Your legs were especially hurting.
“So are you enjoying your day?” He asked and you nodded as your mouth was full. “I’m glad you do. I’m having a lot of fun too.”
“I’m kind of confused though because it’s our date but you are still helping me get prepared for the other dates and you talk a lot about your friends. I mean it’s a relief that you are this nice, but I’m just curious why are you acting this way?” You asked. He had a faint smile on his face while he drank from his drink.
“Well, I’m not sure. You know I generally think of myself as a selfless person, and I really love my hyungs and my friend Yugyeom. I think you are amazing and if you do end up with either of us, that will be great... But I’m not sure if you would choose me...” He said the last part with a softer voice, he seemed a bit unsure about his feelings and thoughts.
“All of you have equal chances with me and I will reflect on the dates once I finished,” you said but you did notice it didn’t make him feel any better. “But I really think that you are a great guy. It’s really fun to be with you, I don’t feel stressed. It’s like I’m having a fun shopping day with someone I have known for a long time.”
“I do feel that with you too. We can talk so freely and in a comfortable way,” he added.
“Exactly! It’s probably because you have such a friendly and open personality. I really like that about you,” when you said these words, a smile appeared on his face.
“Okay, now I’m feeling better. So I guess I have a chance too...”
“Of course you do! And thank you again for the dress... You really didn’t have to,” you said still feeling a bit embarrassed by it.
“I know I didn’t have to, but I wanted to. That money I would have spent on myself anyway, and believe me, I have way too many clothes already,” he chuckled and that made you feel better.
“Well, this is definitely going to be one of the most memorable gifts from any of the dates I had and will have in my life,” you told him and his smile got even bigger.
After you finished with lunch, you felt it’s time to relax even more. You found two massage chairs in the mall which needed a few hundred wons and in return, it gave you a full on massage that made both of you feel even more relaxed.
“Wow, I love today,” BamBam said while the chair was shaking him up.
“It’s been a while since I had this much fun while shopping,” you confessed. “I have to admit at first I thought it’s kind of odd to have a first date in a mall, but it all makes sense now.”
“I know just look at me! I mean not now, but when I dress more the way I usually do. You could tell then that malls are like Heaven to me. Though sometimes I do prefer online shopping, but getting back to the old days when you and your friends hung out in malls is kind of necessary to go back to where everything started,” he said philosophically and you had to agree with him.
It was time for the two of you to say goodbye. You thanked again for the millionth time the dress that he bought. The two of you exchanged numbers and you had to promise BamBam that even if he is not the chosen one, you will still go shopping with him because he had a lot of fun too. He also thought that you had great opinions and insights while he was trying on different outfits.
At home, you put on the dress again and took a picture of yourself in the mirror. You sent it to BamBam and told him he really has a good taste with clothes. “Okay but tomorrow you can’t wear this because you will spend the whole day outside with Mark hyung. Don’t catch a cold,” he texted back with a winky face. “Stop teasing me about my dates ><’” you wrote him back as he drove you crazy with all the hints and spoilers he was dropping. It was unclear how these dates will make you feel at the end, but for sure you gained a really good friend already in BamBam and who knows how can that continue from here?

Win or Win - Youngjae
January 1st. Jackson
Tumblr media
January 2nd. Youngjae
The next day you were still drunken with the sweet moments from the date with Jackson, so it was hard for you to focus on your next date. Your best friend told you that Youngjae is waiting for you in an arcade at 2 o’clock. You were, of course, excited, but it was hard to get Jackson out of your head. If you would have had the chance to chose, you would have gone on another date with Jackson for sure.
Your feet were hurting a little bit so you didn’t mind that this day’s date won’t be too active. You dressed up in comfortable clothes, but not too warm ones, as you were spending the whole afternoon inside.
When you arrived at first you were not sure who to look for. Youngjae didn’t tell a lot of information about himself so you just cluelessly looked at all the boys standing outside of the arcade. But then suddenly a boy started to run towards you. He was wearing dark skinny jeans, sneakers, a hoodie with a long trench coat. He definitely looked stylish for an arcade date.
“Y/n?” He asked and you nodded. His face was not as manly as Jackson’s but there was something charming about him as well. You noticed the small mole under his eye which made his appearance even cuter. “Nice to mee you, I’m Youngjae.”
“Nice to meet you, Youngjae,” you said as you shook hands.
“We should go inside, it’s a bit cold here,” he said and you followed him in. He said hi to a couple of people in there, which made it seem like he had been to this arcade a lot of times.
“Wow, this place looks super cool,” you said as you looked around the huge place with dozens of different gaming machines and all the neon lights brightening up the dark, windowless place.
“This is one of my favorite spots in the city, so I’m glad you like it,” he said and you smiled shyly. “Do you want to try the basketball game?” He asked and you nodded.
“Actually I think I’m good with this,” you said and he looked at you curiously.
“Okay, should we bet? The loser buys milk for the winner,” he replied with a smile.
“Okay then get your wallet ready, mister,” you said daringly which surprised even yourself with.
“Wow, you have a lot of confidence, I love that,” he laughed and his laugh was loud and contagious.
You started the game and actually, you got quite a few balls in the hoop. Youngjae kept on cheering for you even though your win might mean a loss for his wallet.
“I’m really good at this,” you concluded as you looked at your score. “Now it’s your turn but don’t go easy on me.”
“It’s not my intention. I like winning,” he winked at you but then he started to laugh in his embarrassment. You guessed he wasn’t used to dating and flirting that much, in which you related to him.
“Go Youngjae!” You cheered on him which made him blush and giggle even more. But once he got the ball in his hands, his attention was on the hoop only. He put on a focused look and didn’t even pay attention to his surroundings. As if he changed personalities. And of course, in the end, his score was higher than yours.
“But you don’t have to buy me milk though, if I let you, then that’s not really nice of me,” he looked concerned when you were looking for your wallet in your bag.
“It was our deal but hey you can buy food in the next round,” you shrugged and he nodded in agreement.
“I kind of want to try something else,” Youngjae said as he looked around the first floor of the arcade. There were mostly claw machines and the basketball game you just played with. There was also a lounge area where people sat down to drink and eat some snacks in-between games. On the second floor, the sign said there are more machines and games to challenge players in. But before you headed upstairs for more fun, you got tempted by the claw machines.
“Hey, Youngjae, what if we both have five tryouts on the machine and the one who doesn’t get a plush has to buy the food,” you suggested and Youngjae’s eyes brightened up.
“Great idea y/n, which machine do you want to try?” He asked and you looked at all the machines lined up with what kind of content they had inside. Then you saw a Pokemon one and pointed it at it like an excited kid. Youngjae approved your choice.
“I want to get the Eevee,” you said while eyeing the figure in the corner of the machine.
“Okay and my aim is Snorlax. It looks cute and also kind of easy to get out,” Youngjae said with a shrug, acting like as if it’s not a big deal for him.
“We will see Choi Youngjae,” you said with a confident smile which made him chuckle but also he felt challenged by your behavior.
For the next thirty minutes, the two of you kept on struggling with the machine. You took turns in trying to get the plush that each of you chose. Even though Youngjae was so sure about getting the Snorlax easily, he progressed even less in getting the character out than you did. Both of you started to lose your cool and started yelling with the poor machine. Especially Youngjae lost his mind as by the end he just slid down on the floor and couldn’t stop laughing at both of your’s misery. And then neither of you succeeded.
“Great, so we are not going to eat lunch,” you sighed and Youngjae patted your shoulder.
“I’m on a diet anyways but if you are hungry I can buy you something,” he said and you shook your head.
“Why are you on a diet though?” You asked him and for a moment he felt embarrassed as he avoided your eyes.
“Well... since I have a job where I have to have a lot of public appearances, I can’t look that overweighted,” he replied but he seemed like as if he wants to avoid the topic.
“Oh come on, what kind of overweight you are talking about? Youngjae you look great. You are handsome, you don’t have anything to worry about and diet. Dieting is the worst. I mean of course sometimes it’s good to eat healthier and taking care of yourself, but skipping meals is never a good option,” you explained to him and he listened to your words.
“Thank you y/n, that’s really nice of you to say that,” he smiled shyly and you put your hand on his shoulder.
“I mean it though, so please, eat with me. We can share the money,” you suggested and he nodded.
“But first we should go up and look at some other games,” he pointed at the stairs and you followed him to the second floor. There were even more people there and a lot more machines. But Youngjae’s eyes stopped on something else instead.
“What do you think about this?” He asked as he stood next to the air hockey table.
“Well, I never tried this before but why not,” you said and he showed you how to play the game. He stood beside you on your side of the table and he held on to your hand while showing off some movements you could do while playing the game. His hand was a bit sweaty, probably because he was nervous to be close to you. But otherwise his hand was smooth and he smelled really nice. It was comfortable to be next to him so close.
After he let go of your hand, you could see it better that his ears were red like a tomato. He quickly walked over to the other side and you started to play against each other. You had fun during the game but at one point the puck flew out of the table, hitting Youngjae on his thigh. You rushed over to him telling him endless apologies while he was rubbing the spot where he got hit.
“Thank God it wasn’t your sensitive area,” you said to him in which at first he looked at you with a shocked expression then he burst out into a loud laugh. “Oh my, I can’t believe I said that out loud,” you held your head and Youngjae kept on laughing at your reaction.
“Well, thanks for this laugh, it doesn’t hurt anymore. But you are absolutely right, this was a better spot,” he nodded. “So what do you want to play next?”
“Hm, I was thinking more about something that doesn’t involve sports for now. I feel exhausted after these two games and the claw machine misery,” you said and Youngjae got into deep thoughts.
“Let’s walk around and see what options do we have,” he said and you started to explore more the arcade. It was surprisingly even bigger than it looked on the outside. There were some hidden corners with smaller machines. Occasionally you spotted some workers who took out coins from machines or cleaned some after they had been used for a while.
Your attention was on a couple who were playing darts and they kept loudly laughing at each other. They both seemed to be pretty bad at the game but they for sure had fun. But then Youngjae gasped loudly and your attention got back to him.
“Coin karaoke!” He exclaimed. Youngjae rushed to the small booth dragging you along.
“Wait, I don’t think this is a good idea. If you hear me sing, I don’t think you will ever want to meet me again,” you protested but Youngjae didn’t listen to you.
He stepped inside the tiny booth which squeezed you both in, the two of you standing next to each other closely.
“I love to sing and people say I have a good voice, so if we do it together it might not be that scary for you,” Youngjae suggested.
“Okay, support me with this,” you sighed but Youngjae shouted ‘fighting’ to raise your spirit. He looked at the options while he fished out 500 won from his pocket.
“What do you think about Bolbbalgan4′s Galaxy?” He asked.
“Oh, great choice.” You replied while Youngjae handed you a mic.
“Take a deep breath and don’t stress. We are not on stage,” he told you with a reassuring smile and you did as he said.
The song started and Youngjae began to sing. You joined him once you felt more confident and it made you feel at ease when he smiled at you while singing. His voice was powerful but soothing.
“You see, this was so fun!” He said once you finished singing couple more songs. The two of you were heading downstairs to grab something to eat.
“Well only because you are a superstar singer,” you answered, which made him chuckle in his embarrassment.
“There is a convenience store next door, do you want to go there and eat?” He asked, changing the subject.
“That sounds good to me,” you finally arrived outside of the arcade and the fresh air made your head feel better. But when you turned around, you saw that Youngjae had a confused face.
“Before we go, I should go and use the restroom. There might be a line, so please wait for me here,” he said and he looked nervous for a second before he disappeared. It was definitely suspicious as usually in the men’s restroom there isn’t a line.
He definitely made you wait for like ten minutes and you started to get cold. Your mind was spinning with confusion and anger starting to pile up, but then Youngjae stepped outside while his arms were behind his back.
“What are you up to?” You asked him with suspicion but also with a smile on your face. Youngjae kept on giggling until he revealed the Eevee that you tried to get out so hard from the claw machine. “I can’t believe you!”
“Sorry it took me so long, I hope you were not too cold in the meantime,” he said while handing you the plush. In your happiness, you almost jumped into his arms while you hugged him tightly, with the Eevee between the two of you.
After that, the three of you walked to the convenience store next door and had some ramen to finish off the great day. Youngjae walked you to the bus stop and said goodbye to you with a warm hug. He almost left you there, but then he quickly ran back to you to ask for your number. He tripped a little and almost fell on you, but in the end, he was able to get his balance back. With a shaking hand he typed in your number then he said goodbye again.
When you got home, you really couldn’t wait to be in bed as you felt exhausted. After you washed up and checked your phone, you fell asleep while smiling softly and hugging the Eevee tight. While you were already deep in your sleep, Youngjae texted you as he could barely fall asleep, still thinking about your day and how much fun he had. ‘I hope we can have another round in which you win and I pay you back with food ^^~ Sleep tight, Eevee will protect you~’

Skate the Night Away - Jackson
Tumblr media
January 1st. Jackson || 7 First Dates
You were nervous about your very first date that was coming up right on January 1st. You were glad that your date didn’t schedule the meeting too early as you were still recovering from New Year's Eve. Your best friend told you the time and place where you should go. She made sure that none of the guys know your number so that they can’t bother you in case the date doesn’t go too well. But if you do like each other, then it’s even better if you exchange your numbers right at the end of a well-made date.
Jackson, as she said that’s the first date’s name, scheduled the meeting at six at one of the largest skating rinks in the city. You were not too sure about this idea as you and sports was not the best match, but during winter time skating does have a nice vibe.
Since you didn’t own a good pair of skates, you decided to just rent a pair when you get to the place. You made sure you dressed warmly as the weather outside wasn’t too warm, especially after the sun went down. It was hard to deny for yourself all the worry that you had since your stomach kept on making weird noises and you felt like throwing up.
“Just make sure that you won’t end up bringing him home,” your best friend said with a cheeky wink as she helped you bundle up against the cold.
“You are too funny, I probably can’t even make them kiss me, especially not to bring them home,” you snort and she giggles.
“You are so cute, they gonna love you,” she said as she patted your head which you absolutely hated, at least when you were nervous, otherwise you loved it.
“Okay I leave before you make me feel even more annoyed,” you murmured and she wished you luck as you left the house.
The cool breeze hit your face and you wished your best friend would have come up with this plan maybe on a warmer week in spring. Regardless, you sat on the bus and followed the route that the map suggested to you. There were a lot of couples on the bus, cuddling together, whispering sweet nothings, softly smiling at each other. You hated to see them because it reminded you of how alone you felt. Maybe these dates will take your mind off from feeling sorry for yourself, at least you hoped.
When you got off from the bus, you tried to locate the small cafe beside the rink. Jackson told your friend he is going to be waiting for you there, wearing a black puffer coat and a hat with the Chinese character “wang” on it. Just to make sure, you looked up what character he mentioned so that you can find him easily. Of course, your friend let him know too what you are going to wear and how you look like. Still, there were too many people sitting in the cafe to get warm after spending so much time on the rink. You were scared what if you won’t find him. Maybe it would have been better to exchange numbers, you thought.
“Are you y/n?” You suddenly heard a voice from behind you. When you turned around you saw a guy who wasn’t that much taller than you but even under the thick coat, you could see that he was well built. He had big, round deep brown eyes with double eyelids. His face was really handsome and charming and for a second you didn’t know what to say. But then you noticed the Chinese character on his hat and you smiled.
“Oh, are you Jackson?” You asked while blushing and he nodded with a bright smile. Damn, you thought, his smile was so warm.
“It’s nice to meet you y/n. I’m glad we found each other. There are so many people here I was afraid I won’t spot you. But it was hard not to spot such a pretty girl,” he said cheekily and he already charmed you away.
“Please, you can’t complain either. It’s been a while since I had a date with such a handsome guy,” you complimented him and he let out a cute chuckle. His smile was sweet, but his laugh was even nicer.
“Are you ready to break some bones?” He asked while looking at the crowded skating rink. Well at first you were scared to ice skate but now seeing that your date was a pretty athletic guy, you didn’t worry anymore.
“Sure, let’s do this. But I need to rent skates,” you added as you looked down on your shoes and Jackson nodded.
“It’s okay, I need to rent a pair too,” he replied and then the two of you walked towards the booth where you could rent your skates.
“This size should be fine,” he said as he handed you the skates. The two of you locked your things away in one of the empty lockers then you sat on a smaller bench to put on the skates. Jackson put his pair on skillful and pulled hard on the strings to make them stay on his feet. However, you struggled a little as it kept on coming off from your feet. Jackson softly smiled then he kneeled down in front of you. Your heart skipped a beat. It never happened in your life that such a handsome gentleman like him would kneel before you. He took pulled your right leg closer to him so he could tie your skate better. He was sure strong like he looked. Then he did the same with your other feet. It was nothing for me but you kept on turning red like a nice tomato.
“Thank you,” you smiled and he just nodded. But now it was time for you to stand up. Well, it didn’t go too well. You lost your balance and Jackson had to catch you before it would have gone even worse.
“We are not even on the ice yet and you are already falling,” he laughed and you almost said, well I’m falling in love with you for sure. He was extremely close as he helped you get your balance back. You could smell his t-shirt that smelt like it was just freshly washed.
“You have to hold my hand tightly or I will end up in the emergency tonight,” you half-joked and with a cheeky smile, Jackson took your hand in his strong hand.
The two of you walked to the ice and finally, it was time to step on. It was Jackson at first and he helped you get on the ice, but at first, it was kind of hard for you. Jackson was holding on to you tightly, so you were not afraid of falling. Still, you wanted to get better at it. He gave you a few tips on your posture and how to bend your knees. For the first few rounds you were holding onto Jackson and the railing, but then after you grasped the technique of it, it became much easier. You were still holding Jackson’s hand but at least you could go a little faster.
“This is so much fun!” You exclaimed and he let out a soft laugh. He was like a puppy, you came to that conclusion.
“I’m so glad that you are learning so fast,” he said.
“Well since I have a great teacher,” you said and he got a bit flustered, which you didn’t think you could make him.
“What do you think about spinning?” He asked and before you could answer he skated in front of you and held onto both of your hands. He tried to pull you into a spin and it more or less worked. It was great having such a strong guy next to you, you did not worry about anything. Even when kids were circling around you and barely standing on their feet.
“Be careful guys,” Jackson said to the kids with a huge smile on his face. He even high fived them and after that, they kept on following him and teasing him.
“The kids love you,” you said with an amazed expression. If Jackson is not husband material then no one is.
“Ah I think they just like it when someone has a bright and friendly personality,” he shrugged but you could tell that it was feeding into his ego, but he didn’t act up.
“I’m starting to get cold, should we head in the cafe?” You asked as you could feel your limbs freezing.
“I was about to suggest it as well,” smiled Jackson as he blew some warm air on his hands.
The two of you skated towards the exit of the rink and it was winter heaven when you finally got back in the waiting area where the cafe was as well. You returned the skates and got your bags from the locker.
Jackson ordered one iced americano for himself and hot cocoa for you.
“How can you drink iced americano when we just came from the freezing cold?” You asked him amused and Jackson just giggled.
“I guess it became a habit and I prefer this to warmer drinks. But you, on the other hand, I’m not surprised that you ordered hot cocoa,” he looked at you softly but for a second you questioned him.
“Ah what does that mean though? That while you have a tough personality, mine is weak?” You raised your eyebrow but Jackson shook his head.
“No, you are a warm and sweet person, that’s what it means,” he replied and you could feel your face turning red. You were a bit taken aback with his compliments so you couldn’t really say anything. “I know this might sound cheesy, but it is true. I don’t understand why you haven’t found someone yet. I would feel lucky to have a nice and bright girlfriend like you,” he shrugged, avoiding your gaze.
“Well, I guess the guys who I met before had a different opinion from you,” you said with a deep sigh. But then Jackson reached out to put his hand on top of yours.
“With all honesty, I hope you can find the one soon. And if you ever want to hang out with me again to get you more into athletic activities or just to chat in general, I will be here for you,” he said it while looking deeply in your eyes with his large puppy eyes. Your heart started to race like crazy but you managed to put a smile on your face.
“I can’t wait for that,” you said shyly and you felt you should have expressed yourself better. But Jackson liked this answer too, and he gently patted your head. Now your heart definitely was ready to jump out of its place.
After a little bit of chatting and finishing up your drinks, the two of you walked to the bus stop. “Are you taking this too?” You asked and he nodded.
“I have to get off in three stops and from there I will take the subway. But until then I still have a little time to spend with you,” he explained and you were glad that he didn’t just go on his own way, right away.
“You know I’m surprised that you signed up to do something like this. You know like a blind date with a stranger,” you said once you found two available seats on the bus.
“I don’t really have a lot of chances of dating and getting to know people so I thought this might be a good opportunity. And I’m glad I said yes to is as now I had the chance to meeting you,” he said while he looked at you softly. He always knew what words he could make your heart flutter.
“Well I was scared to start these blind dates, but I’m glad that at least it had a good start,” you replied and Jackson let out a chuckle.
“I hope this good first date wasn’t the last with me. I wish you look with your other dates and I hope I can hear from you in the near future,” he said as you got closer to his stop. He gave you a big warm hug then he looked like as if he wanted to do or say something else, but then he just smiled at you. “Get home safe,” he said before getting off.
You waved to him as the bus was leaving and then you just sat there with an empty seat next to you and with an empty heart inside your chest. It was a while ago since you felt so happy out on a date and if you had the chance you would definitely repeat it.
At home, you just stared blankly at Jackson’s phone number and thinking about the date. He was so kind and protecting towards you. Due to all these sweet thoughts you almost fell asleep but then you heard a beep from your phone. Jackson texted you, “Hope you had a great time because I did for sure :) Sweet dreams~ ps. if any of the others guys in the date become problematic just let me know so I can have a talk with them ;D” You giggled to yourself when you read the text and then you read it over and over again until you fell asleep.
But then tomorrow another date was waiting for you....

7 First Dates - How it All Started
“Put these on,” said your best friend as she dropped down a pair of fancy medium heeled boots. You looked at the pair with disgust.
“I’m not doing it,” you shook your head and she simply rolled her eyes.
“These are lucky shoes and you need them right now, especially as I’m about to tell you what I’m planning to do for you,” she said with a cheeky smile and you could already tell this is not going to end well.
“Whatever you are planning, I don’t want to be part of it,” you protested as you put down your book and folded your arms in front of your chest.
“Please, just listen to me, I only want the best for you,” she begged and you gave in.
“But make it quick because I’m at a really exciting part and I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen,” you pointed at the book and she sighed.
“I know you have been single for a while and I had a great idea about what we could do against that,” she said as she cocked her eyebrow.
“I’m not signing up to Tinder we already discussed that,” you cut her off but she shook her head.
“This is not about Tinder. I have a co-worker who knows seven, I repeat myself, seven godly looking single guys who, based on his opinion, are not psychos and are actually really nice. Maybe the true one is among them,” she said brightly and you were not too happy about the plan.
“Why seven though? If I like them all I can be Snow White and they can be my dwarfs?” You tried to joke in this situation but she wasn’t too impressed. “Okay, I feel like the more I protest the more you will push me for it.”
“Exactly y/n, you know me so well,” she smiled cheekily at you. “But I hope you know that I’m going to do a background check on them and that I won’t force you into ridiculous makeovers. I want you to have a good time and to be yourself. I believe that’s the only way you can find your true love,” she explained and you felt your heartwarming up.
“That is really nice of you, you are a true best friend,” you said and you hugged her tightly.
“I know I know, and I hope you will reward me one day as your wedding planner,” she giggles and you nod in agreement.
“Okay but how many days I have until the first date?” You asked and her face turned serious. She slowly took out a sheet of paper from her bag and laid it out in front of you.
“I already made a schedule with all of them,” she said a bit unsurely as she was afraid of your reaction.
“But... but the first one is tomorrow?!” You said in disbelief and she looked at you with big puppy eyes.
“Listen, it’s better to get over them as soon as possible, so in case one of them does work out, you can date them immediately,” she said now more excitedly just so she can make you more enthusiastic about her project.
“Okay, I need to get my mind mentally prepared for this,” you sighed as you looked at the list of names next to the scheduled meeting. You didn’t have a lot of hope for these dates, but what can you lose by meeting them? Time for sure and maybe some brain cells if they are not as bright, but you never knew. Maybe the true one is among them.

An au in which JJ P(arents)roject gets back to the dorm after the release of Verse 2
"It feels weird to be JJ Project again after all these years," says Jaebum as he puts down a Haruki Murakami book on his lap which he has been reading for the past hour.
Jinyoung looks up at him, unsure if his hyung will continue his thought or not. "It reminds me of the days when we both were so unsure about our future." continues Jaebum and Jinyoung nods in agreement.
"This is how we began. First the auditions, then Dream High, then our duo. Can you imagine what would have happened if GOT7 would never exist?" Asks Jinyoung which makes Jaebum think for a minute.
"It would have been quieter… but also boring," Jaebum replies with a sweet smile. They both think about the other members and wonder what they are up to.
"Hyung, don't get it wrong, I love to be in a duo with you, but I have to admit it that I don't think I could have managed for this long on your side," Jinyoung says cautiously with a cheeky smile. Jaebum scoffs.
"As if you are a much easier person to work with," he says and Jinyoung chuckles.
"To be honest, I think we would have both concentrated more on our solo projects. Like maybe I would have acted in more dramas by now and you would have become an even bigger producer," Jinyoung ponders and Jaebum adds.
"Yes, if it would have been the two of us maybe we wouldn't have had that sense of team spirit and responsibility for each other."
"But what I like this time is that we were able to produce songs that really fit our style and not necessarily GOT7 style," Jinyoung adds and Jaebum's eyes brighten a little.
"Well, I'm glad you feel that way. At first, I was worried about how can we pull off something that is totally not GOT7 like. And also how will the fans respond to it. But they also liked it," Jaebum comments. Jinyoung takes out his phone and pulls up his secret Twitter account (which he uses for to look at fan's comments and fansite pictures taken of him and of the other members.)
"The album is only out for a few hours but look at all these comments. Both Korean and international fans are loving it," Jinyoung says proudly and the two of them read some of the comments until the manager stops in front of their dorm.
Once they get out of the car, they notice how dark it is already. They had a long day with a packed schedule and on their way back to the dorm even the dark night came upon them. Their bodies feel a bit sore but they are hurrying upstairs because they can't wait to shower, eat dinner, then finally go to sleep. They don't expect anything from the boys. Youngjae and Jackson are not even in the dorm anymore and the others are probably focusing on their own activities.
Jinyoung goes ahead of Jaebum who is still reading a book while going up on the stairs. He just can't put it down once he gets into the more exciting part. When Jinyoung opens the door, he finds it odd that is pitch black dark inside. He wonders maybe nobody is home.
"I guess it's only us," Jinyoung says to Jaebum who finally looks up from his book.
"It's really like back in the days…" He sighs then they both take off their shoes and go inside their dorm. Jinyoung turns on the lights in the open area of a kitchen, dining room, and living room while Jaebum rushes inside his room to greet his precious kittens.
But Jinyoung is feeling suspicious.  He puts down his bag on the couch and looks into the other members’ rooms. No one can be found. Jinyoung looks into Jaebum’s room but he looks unbothered as his cats are cuddling him on his bed. Jinyoung chuckles then he goes into the kitchen to prepare dinner. At that moment, he hears footsteps from the stairway.
He goes closer to the door and tries to make out the sounds. Yugyeom’s voice grows louder the higher they are and Jinyoung can finally understand what they talk about.
“Hyungs will be super happy for our surprise,” exclaims Yugyeom then Jinyoung suddenly gets an idea. He takes both his and JAebum’s shoes in his hand and picks up his backpack then runs into Jaebum’s room.
“Quick, go in the closet,” Jinyoung orders him and Jaebum looks confused but he does as he is told.
They turn off the lights and both hide in the main closet. Just in time, because a second later the door opens and the members come inside.
“BamBam, are you sure they going to come in twenty minutes?” Mark asks.
“Yes, I heard the manager say they are going to finish at 9pm,” BamBam says cheerfully but Jinyoung laughs quietly.
“That’s going to be tomorrow,” Jaebum whispers and a smile spreads out on his face.
“Okay so maybe in like fifteen minutes we can get ready, turn off the lights and hide behind the furniture,” plans Jackson and for a few minutes, the two hiding boys can hear their members moving around and packing out some bags that they probably brought with themselves.
“What should we do when they hide?” Asks Jaebum and Jinyoung thinks for a minute.
“We should prank them somehow but I don’t know how...”
“Oh wait, what if we call the manager and tell him to come up so that they can believe it’s us who are coming home,” comes up with the plan Jaebum and Jinyoung takes out his phone to message the manager.
Five minutes later the members turn off all the lights and they quickly run to their hiding spots. Youngjae almost opens the closet door but Jackson calls him over to a better hiding spot behind the curtains. JJ Project is relieved.
Then finally the manager is getting close to the door and opens it with his spare key. Quickly someone lights the candle on the cake then when the door is fully open they yell, “Congratulations!” But their voices die down when they see it’s only the manager.
“Oh thank you guys, it’s not my birthday yet though,” laughs the manager and the silence that kicks in tells Jaebum and Jinyoung that the rest of the members are greatly confused.
“Where are the hyungs?” Asks Yugyeom and the manager sighs.
“They are not coming home tonight. They had some other plans to celebrate, I just came to take some stuff that I left here the other day,” tells them the manager and then the silence continues.
“We really ruined their surprise,” Jaebum laughs.
“Well, maybe next time they should know better about our schedule,” petty Jinyoung strikes.
“We should reveal ourselves soon,” Jaebum notes and Jinyoung nods.
They wait for the manager to take some of his things, that are probably not even his but he has to cover up the prank. Once the front door closes, the boys continue to be in silence.
“What should we do know? Should we keep the cake for tomorrow or should we eat it?” Asks Youngjae.
“Why would we eat it, we bought it for them,” Jackson says but JJ Project can tell that Youngjae can’t wait to eat the cake.
“This is a bummer... I was so excited to surprise them,” sighs Mark but then suddenly a knocking on the closet door makes him stop.
Jackson slowly walks towards it and cautiously opens it. Then with a BAMM JJ Project scares the hell out of their members.
“You bastards!” Says Mark and his cursing in Korean now became very convincing after all these years.
“What was all this about?” Asks Yugyeom but JJ PRoject just can’t stop laughing at their reaction.
“Well we arrived home earlier than you thought and we decided to surprise you. But we do appreciate your effort to celebrate our new album,” says Jaebum and the members are dumbfounded.
“Whatever now, can we just get to the cake?” Asks Youngjae and they all head in the kitchen.
“You know... it would be truly boring without these guys,” says Jinyoung just to Jaebum while they walk after the others.
“That’s right,” agrees Jaebum then they finally have a proper surprise and celebratory party for Verse 2.

Hansol - Manhattan, New York, USA - August 29th, 2018
Today was the day when I saw something incredibly dark, I thought I will never be able to smile again. The feeling of looking into a pair of deep dark eyes while you see the life leaving slowly from the person’s body. I don’t know if I want to believe in the supernatural dimension of human souls and ghosts, but I swear I sensed something floating around me when the body lifelessly sank into my arms. My breathing stopped for a moment and I thought I was never going to eat again as I felt my stomach turning into a knot.
The girl, who seemed so bright a moment ago, just died in my arms. Who she was? That I didn’t know. I just met her with another group of Koreans who came to visit New York City just like I did with my family. We were looking at a couple of 19th-century European paintings in the Metropolitan Museum of Art when she suddenly told me she was feeling sick. She was only two years older than me, a college student somewhere in Seoul. I didn’t know anything else about her, not even her name. But when she collapsed into my arms, nobody seemed to worry for her, that meant she was all alone. When the tour guide noticed what happened, he suddenly stopped talking about Mihaly Munkacsy whose artwork The Music Room was temporarily on display. The music room… I was wondering about the sound of the piano, which the girl was playing on. I wished I was in a music room where I could hear different melodies, but then I got reminded that my life wasn’t about the arts, my life was more about the law. What if I lived a life where I could perform on stage and be a true artist who speaks his emotions through lyrics?
But at that moment when I was wondering about an alternate universe, the girl turned to me.
“It’s really hot in here, don’t you think?” she asked me while she was fanning herself with the folded map of the museum.
“No, I think it’s fine,” I said cluelessly but then her body’s weight fell on mine and I wrapped my hands around her shoulders to keep her up. But her mouth was hanging open and her eyes were staring at me wide open. I think she was still breathing for a second but when I lowered her on the floor… it didn’t’ take long until I lost her.
“What happened?” Shouted the guide which made everyone in the group jump and turn around to take a look at the two of us.
“Hansol!” My mom screamed who kneeled down on the floor next to me and checked if I was okay.
“She is dead,” I declared and her eyes moved towards the girl’s direction. She didn’t say anything. She took her wrist and checked her pulse, while I was hearing the guide’s voice who was calling for an ambulance. My mom sighed then she closed the girl’s eyelids.
“What happened to her?” My sister asked as she walked next to us. I looked up at her and I saw worry in her eyes.
“She… I don’t even know,” I gulped then I turned towards my dad who put his arm on my shoulder, “what do I do?”
“There is nothing we can do now..”
Hyukjae - Seoul, South Korea - August 31st, 2018
It started out as a usual Friday morning when I stepped into my dull looking office in the center of Seoul. The rent I had to pay for it skyrocketed beyond the limits I would have been comfortable with, but for my elite clients, this was a more convenient location. When I opened the door, my intern was taking a morning nap, like usually, behind his desk in the main hall. His job was to take care of my calls, greet clients, bring snacks and drinks if the clients stayed for a longer time, and do some necessary research which I usually didn’t have the time for next to my towering paperwork.
Wonwoo was more than an intern in a way because sometimes I felt like he was truly an assistant. Although I paid him very little money as he was just a college student, he still did a lot more than it was required of him. The boy had an incredible amount of knowledge and I could tell from the first time I talked to him that he not just desperately wanted to be but he would be an astonishing detective. But of course, he had his flaws.
“Good morning Jeon Wonwoo, rise and shine,” I shouted as I dropped down my heavy leather bag on his desk. This made him almost jump out of his skin and nearly caused him to fall off from the cheap office chair.
“Ah, hyung,” he said while taking off his glasses and rubbing his eyes, “sorry I didn’t hear you come in. Let me make you coffee quickly.”
“Did you stay up late again, playing games?” I asked him as I took off my suit and hung it up on the coat hanger. Wonwoo got out from the chair and stretched up his arms high. He was a very skinny and tall boy, he kind of reminded me of the time when I was younger. Although I was never as tall as him but the built was familiar.
“Yes… I was playing for hours with my team and we were so determined to win, but we kept losing. The hours passed by so fast, I even forgot to do my online homework for one of my classes,” he explained as he turned on the water heater while taking out a container with coffee in it.
“You know you have to take care of your classes or else they will say that you can’t work as an intern,” I replied and he silently nodded. “Did anything come this morning?”
“Sergeant Lee left a message for you, he said you are a bastard for not cleaning up after yourself and for just going to work without taking care of the mess in the kitchen,” started Wonwoo which made my head boil. I told Donghae countless times to not leave personal messages to my intern. “This made me wonder hyung, are you two living together?”
“No, don’t think of anything like that,” I protested as I took my coffee in my hands, making the skin on my palm feel just as warm as my face. “Last night I went to have a beer with him but he is not good with alcohol so he passed out after just half a bottle. But I had a really stressful week behind me so I kept on drinking and eating and trashing his place. And it seems like he didn’t like that,” I sighed and Wonwoo laughed.
“You two seem to be really close friends,” he said and I smiled. Indeed we were close friends, always causing trouble and teasing either each other or the people around us. Although things were far easier when we both were just school boys and we didn’t have to solve so many problems around us. But after all, that was our job.
“So did you say anything to him?” I asked as I picked up a pile of papers from his desk which were ready for me to review them.
“Yeah, I told him to not take it personally because Hyukjae hyung doesn’t even keep his own office clean,” answered Wonwoo with a cocky smile. I nearly dropped the papers from my hand in embarrassment.
“Ah, what do you mean?! I keep the office clean as much as I can!” I tried to protest but he shook his head.
“It’s always me who has to clean up everything after you which is weird because you should see my apartment, it’s a disaster. Yet here, I feel like I need to clean every time because I always feel it’s too dirty,” he explained and I didn’t know what else to say. But my situation was saved with a phone call which Wonwoo picked up.
“I’m going to be in my office,” I whispered and he nodded.
I settled down the papers on top of my dark oak desk and I pulled away the curtains to let the morning sun in. I opened the window because I didn’t want to turn on the AC just yet and as it was August, it was a pretty a warm day.
I put on my glasses and sat down on my chair, which wasn’t any better than Wonwoo’s. The squeaky noise of it annoyed the hell out of me, but I never found the time to go and replace it with something else. Well, actually, shopping online made everyone’s life easier so maybe it’s better to say I didn’t bother too much to spend money on it.
When I took some papers in front of me, I picked up a blue pen that was my usual marker while looking at the cases I reviewed for a final time. Last week I was able to put an end to the homicide which happened a month ago. It was a long way to find out first how did the victim die then to find who killed him. But it was the usual, he was owning money and he couldn’t pay it back on time, which caused him his life.
As I was reviewing the paper, a sudden knock on my door made me jump a little. After I called in the person, it was Wonwoo with a piece of note.
“Today Seo Jeong Hun will visit you at one in the afternoon, he sounded very serious,” Wonwoo explained as he put down the note on my desk.
“Wait, isn’t he that very rich man who owns an art business company?” I asked and Wonwoo nodded.
“I think you should turn on the TV,” he added then he left my office. I got up from my chair and walked to the opposite corner of the room where a small TV was placed on top of a small table. I sat down on the leather couch which was usually to make clients feel more comfortable or for me occasionally taking a nap. I turned on the TV and I switched to a news channel because I knew what Wonwoo tried to imply. I didn’t even have to pay attention for long because every channel was filled with the news.
Two days ago Seo Jeong Hun’s daughter collapsed in a museum in New York City and it made it be a national news as she was from one of the richest families in Korea and she was also the heir to all that wealth. Now I started to put together the picture why he wanted to talk to me, he probably wants me to find out who killed his daughter, I thought. It seemed like,  the very first time I had to move my office abroad.
Soonyoung - Seoul, South Korea - August 31st, 2018
“Poor girl, she just went to a museum and then died in there. What if her soul is trapped in there forever, how boring is that,” I said to Jihoon who was silently looking at the TV, watching the news. I thought with my lame comment I will make him react some way but he was so engrossed in the report, he didn’t even care about my existence.
The station was unusually quiet and not many officers were seen just yet. Some were out to do some routine patrolling and some others were taking a vacation leave in the last week of August. Jihoon and I were the youngest ones at the station so we didn’t have that luxury yet. But our boss was especially kind to us so he sometimes gave us a couple of days off.
Sergeant Lee was behind his desk, not paying attention to the news, and just calmly reading a book that he had been staring at for months. I did see some progress in it and sometimes I heard him turn the pages, but it looked like he was still at the beginning.
“Hey, do you think it was murder? Because so far they say she might have had an allergic reaction to the food she ate at the museum’s cafeteria. But I don’t think it’s that simple,” commented Jihoon as he finally spoke up when the report was over.
“I don’t know man, I think after a little investigation we will have more information on it. I heard that the police are really good in New York City and they are quick in catching murderers,” I replied and started to imagine how cool it would be to be an officer in that big metropolis.
“True… but things seem fishy. I mean, she was the daughter of a very influential man,” continued Jihoon and I waved my hand.
“Yeah, but if you think it’s because of that, then they could have killed her here too. They didn’t have to go that far,” I said and Jihoon just fell deeper in his thoughts.
I got up from the chair and walked over to Sergeant Lee who was sipping from his iced americano. “Boss, is there anything we can do? It’s getting boring in here.”
“Officer Kwon, there is always something to do. Especially if you look at this pile of reports that have been sitting here for a couple of days now,” pointed at some papers Sergeant Lee.
“Anything else besides paperwork?” I asked with endless hope in my heart but Sergeant Lee’s smirk crushed it all.
“You can take the mop in the bathroom and clean up a little,” he said and I sighed. “Hey, you should be happy that we live in such a peaceful city that you don't…” but before he could finish his sentence, the phone started to ring, which was directly connected to the dispatcher. Maybe the city wasn’t that peaceful after all.
“Officer Lee and Officer Kwon, your leisure is over as you have to get into action. You know the high school two streets away? I just got a report that one of the teachers hung himself. You should get there fast to close down the school and send the students home. An investigating team is on the way too,” Sergeant Lee explained as soon as he was done, we headed out to one of the cars.
“Today is your day,” said Jihoon as he threw the car key into my hand.
Suicide cases were common these days, so I wasn’t too surprised. But it’s never pleasant to see a dead body hang in front of you.
When we arrived at the school, the investigating team was right there at the entrance. We started to let the students go home and close down the area. It was also necessary to have the principal with us to answer to some of our questions. Did the teacher seem distressed? How was he acting that day? Did he seem like a troubled person? Who does he belong to, any family members?
All the questioning started while the investigators looked at the body. It was a man in his thirties, probably closer to forty. He was a Math teacher and he had taught at the school for two years. Before that, he was a private teacher for elite students. The principal didn’t know a lot about his personal life but he seemed like a calm person who loved teaching and the students loved him. If he were to be asked about which teacher is the most likely to commit suicide, this teacher would have been at the bottom of the list. Regardless of that, every sign seemed to show towards suicide and not murder. A prosecutor from the local district showed up and it was determined that he died from the rope so it was no need for further investigation of the case.
I felt like they closed the situation too quickly. But who am I to judge their job? After all, I’m just a young police officer.
Jihoon and I went back to the station and reported everything that happened at the scene to our boss. Sergeant Lee looked up at us from his computer where he was writing our report.
“Are you sure it was a suicide?” He asked while his fingers were still resting on the keyboard. Jihoon nodded firmly but I was more hesitant. “Officer Kwon, is there something else?
“The thing is… they say it’s a suicide case, but to me, it was determined too fast. Shouldn’t they do an autopsy?” I asked with a weak voice because I didn’t want to make my boss angry for getting too deep into a case that’s not really in our field anymore. But it was hard to make him angry. He leaned back in his chair, finally letting go of the keyboard and put his hands behind his head.
“I mean they won’t be able to do autopsy unless the prosecutor orders so or they get some report that might point towards murder. But because the evidence seems definite, it’s likely they will close it down in a few days. So I don’t know what to say…” explained Sergeant Lee with a calm voice and then he sank deep into his thoughts. His mouth even fell open a little while he was reading over the report and was probably thinking about what I just said. In the meantime, Jihoon dragged me towards the TV and went back to watch the news. There was nothing new yet in the Seo girl case.
Heechul - Seoul, South Korea - August 31st, 2018
“This folder with forty pages of report on the Choi murder case can bring our news channel to the biggest spotlight on national television. No other reporters have their hands on such evidence on the matter, only me. Yet you are telling me to quit it?” I shouted at my boss who was sitting behind his expensive mahogany desk. I wanted to kick it and push the whole damn thing on him.
“Reporter Kim, please calm down or if not I will have to fire you and have you removed from the building with the help of security,” he said with his cold toneless voice. I wanted to grab onto his shirt and shake him until he says yes to my request. But of course, I couldn’t do that.
“I have spent so much time on gathering all this information, yet you are refusing it… I’m very disappointed. You will regret this one day when the other news channels bring the story to light, you will be like ah Kim Heechul, that pathetic guy, he was actually right. I should have let him do his job properly,” I yelled then I shut the door behind me.
All of my colleagues who were sitting at their desks were staring at me. They were not used to see goofball idiot Kim Heechul be this aggressive and serious about something. They only saw me as a person they wanted to see. That person that pleases their boring days and makes them laugh with his perverted childish jokes. But I had another side. That side that wanted justice and I had the ambition to pull through it. Only that I had a stubborn boss who was like a rock in the middle of the road who didn’t let me go on with my drive. And there was no other way to go around him. After all, he was the editor, the one who controlled what can be reported and what couldn’t.
There was nothing wrong with my report, only that they were not confirmed by the government yet. All the information I had in hand came directly from the private detective who was working on the case. I just wanted to bring justice and wanted to show people the truth about the Choi family. But it didn’t seem to be working.
“Having a rough day?” I heard a familiar voice as I entered the restroom to refresh myself. Jungsoo came in right after me and he didn’t seem like he was in need to use the bathroom, he was more in the need to annoy me.
“As you can see… I just don’t understand why he doesn’t let me report it,” I complained while I dabbed a paper towel on my face. I could see it in the mirror that more wrinkles appeared on my face since I was working on this case.
“It’s because your source doesn’t seem reliable and he doesn’t want to scare the nation by releasing information that might not be true. Imagine telling the people that the accident that everyone was so sure about was actually a murder. But then a few weeks later we would tell them, sorry but it was a mistake. It really was an accident. Then do you think they would continue to listen to our reports? Would they still find us reliable?” Jungsoo asked while raising his eyebrows. He had a point and he always talked in a way that could convince even the most stubborn person. But I had my own take on it.
“But my sources are reliable. The detective…”
“I know the detective is one of the best detectives if not the best in Korea, but do you have a direct contact with him? Did he give you permission to tell about how his investigation going?” pressed further Jungsoo and I shook my head. “You don’t tell me and not even the boss how you get your information so how are we supposed to know if it’s reliable?”
“Okay Jungsoo, I know. You are 100% right. I just hoped the boss will give me a chance just once,” I sighed and I was finally able to calm down. This time Jungsoo didn’t annoy me as much, he was actually able to talk some sense to me. But that didn’t mean I would stop with the case.
“I think you should get something to eat and maybe you should take a nap in the conference room. From two in the afternoon no one going to use it,” he added and I thanked him then I left to look for my assistant.
“Seungkwan-ah, where the hell are you?” I shouted then suddenly his head popped out from behind a computer. He was watching some videos with the other interns and they were not doing any work in particular.
“I’m sorry sunbaenim, I was just taking a break,” he confessed and I waved my hand.
“No worries, I’m already having a rough day so I’m not in the mood to be mad at you,” I said, which made him straighten up a bit more.
“Is there anything I can do for you?” He asked politely and I nodded.
“Can you bring me some coffee and fried chicken? I will be in the conference room, probably taking a nap so just leave it there,” I said then before I left I turned back to him, “oh and when you become a reporter remember to…”
“…not follow any dumb decisions that you make like taking a nap in the conference room,” Seungkwan finished my sentence and I just laughed. His sassy attitude was one of the reason’s why he was assigned to me and why we got along so well.
“That’s my smart assistant,” I replied and then left him behind.
In the conference room I pushed four chairs together so I could comfortably stretch out my limbs then I added four more chairs facing the others to give a wider space to my body. I tried everything I could. I listened to meditation music, I took deep breaths. I even drew the curtains in to block the sunlight, but nothing helped. I just couldn’t fall asleep.
Twenty minutes later I heard the door open. At first, I thought it might be one of my colleagues so I pretended to sleep. But then I heard Seungkwan’s low whisper and I quickly sat up straight on my bed of chairs. This made Seungkwan and his companion jump.
“Sunbaenim, you looked like a zombie who just woke up from his grave, it was really scary,” said the other intern, putting his hand on his chest. At first, I laughed because I truly found it funny, but then I put on my serious face which made him fear me even more.
“So are you telling me I look that shitty?” I asked and he immediately shook his head.
“No sir,” he said then he gulped.
“Seokmin, I’m just fooling with you,” I said with a smile and he let out a deep sigh, “I know Jungsoo is a boring dude so he is not the type to prank you and fool around. I feel bad for you,” I said while reaching out for the fried chicken which Seungkwan pushed into my direction on the huge oval table.
“But at least he is kind and doesn’t wake up on the wrong side of the bed on every other day,” added Seungkwan which made me stop in mid-air while opening up my food.
“Ah so you mean I’m a douchbag every other day, then why don’t you ask the editor to remove you from me and be assigned to the almighty Park Jungsoo?” I asked with an emotionless tone while knowing deep inside that Seungkwan was right.
“You know I’m just joking with you, sunbae, I would never betray my fabulous mentor,” replied Seungkwan and I shook my head with a smile. Then he formed a heart with his fingers and showed it towards me.
“Don’t ever tell anyone the time we danced to girl group dances. You know that I was pretty drunk that time,” I warned him but Seokmin’s face lit up.
“Awesome, I have to tell this to Jungsoo sunbaenim,” he said then he ran out of the room.
“You see, I didn’t even tell that to my best friend. I’m loyal,” said Seungkwan and I just rolled my eyes.
“It’s not as if Jungsoo doesn’t know about it… he saw me dance like that more than he saw actual girl groups dance to them,” I grumbled while I started to eat my lunch. Finally, it felt like salvation. At then the coffee was a cup of paradise.
“You know each other for such a long time, I think for a longer time than my parents know each other,” remarked Seungkwan and I looked up at him questioningly.
“So are you saying that we are like a married couple?”
“You just said it yourself, I didn’t,” he raised his hand in a sign of protest then he took a few steps towards the door. But before he left I had to drop the secret that no one knew at the newsroom.
“Okay, but when you spend your college years together, many weird stuff can happen. And by that I mean I saw Jungsoo dressed up as a woman with a long blue wig and high heels that even models can barely walk in,” I brought up that one time and it felt like it was just yesterday.
“No way…” gasped Seungkwan then he came closer to me. “Do you have evidence of it?
“Of course! But I will only show them to you if you do your work well and don’t spend too much time doing useless stuff on the computer with Mr. Handsome Wild Smile,” I said as a warning. Seungkwan nodded in agreement then he hurriedly left the room.
I let out a loud chuckle and then I continued with my food. I liked these two interns because they were both funny guys but they were also working diligently when they did not get distracted by the stupid idol culture. But I couldn’t stop thinking about my case. The Choi boy, who was in the middle of all this was probably around the same age as my two young goofballs. I wondered what he did after his parents died. For sure, he couldn’t let it go, that’s why he hired the best detective out there.
Seungcheol - Budapest, Hungary - August 31st, 2018
Budapest was a beautiful city in the middle of Europe holding countless stories from history; for some, the nation felt proud of but there were many events that they wished would have happened differently.
I felt the same way. I was proud of my family and of the company now I was running. But there were so many things I regretted, especially my behavior towards my parents. I mean I wasn’t a rebellious kid, but there were days when I didn’t appreciate enough the things they did for me. And now I can’t thank them.
On the last day of August, I was sitting at a café in the center of Buda, which was one of the two parts of the Central European capital. I was eating some kind of Hungarian cake, which name didn’t stick in my mind, while I faced the private detective I hired. He had a friendly face with large dark eyes and a wide warm smile but his personality contradicted from his appearance. There was something cold about the way he spoke and considering the fact that he was only six years older than me but was Korea’s number one detective meant he was a determined detective.
“Seungcheol, what are you thinking about?” He asked me and I could tell he was trying to read my thoughts, but I believed he wasn’t that smart just yet.
“I was thinking about if we will ever going to get to the end of this investigation,” I said and he nodded while he sipped from his porcelain coffee cup. The sun was beautifully shining down on the church that we were sitting opposite of, but we were able to hide in the shade which was provided by the café’s enormous umbrella. In the background, I could hear someone playing on the piano but I had no clue where the sound was coming from.
“Of course we can. I know you think I have been here for too long but I did progress in the case. Don’t be impatient. We will find who killed your parents,” he said it and his tone towards the end became stone cold. I hated it whenever he said it like that. He didn’t have to remind me why I hired him.
“You know I’m paying you a lot of money and my time too, so that’s why I’m being concerned,” I explained to him, which made him smile.
“I know money is not an issue to the Choi family, so what really bothers you?,” he asked but I didn’t answer to him right away. I knew it that he will figure it out on his own with his quick-witted mind. I think I was able to see the moment when it clicked into his head. He slowly leaned forward on the table and lowered his voice, as if any Hungarians would understand our Korean conversation. Maybe one in a ten thousand if not more. “You want to revenge whoever did that to your parents quickly, right? You have been wanting to destroy whoever did that to your family for over a year now and you are getting very impatient, aren’t you?”
“What would you do in my place? Wouldn’t you have the desire to choke whoever did it with your own hands?” I asked while I raised my hand. Kyuhyun sat back in his seat and arrogantly smiled at me.
“We are different people, but if that’s what motivates you. As long as you pay me I don’t care what you do with the person who I find out to be the murderer, just give me time. I’m not going to slack off in my work,” he explained and I sighed. I needed to drink my coffee before I gave into him.
“Okay, I will be more patient,” I said then I finished eating my cake. The waitress came over to hand us our bill and as I paid at the counter inside the café, Detective Cho had a quick phone call with his assistant.
“Isn’t it interesting that my assistant is the same age as you? Maybe one time the two of you should sit down and have a chat while I do some more investigation that only needs one person,” he said as I exited the café. I looked up at him, as he was a bit taller than me, and I frowned.
“So you want me to babysit your assistant while you can do some fishy work that he should not know about?” I asked while I raised my voice a bit.
“Listen, my assistant is a really nice guy, he likes to follow rules. He would not like to know about me breaking into the parliament,” Detective Cho stated as if it was nothing.
“You what?” I started to shout but he shushed me.
“It’s nothing big. I have my ways. I once broke into the White House so the Hungarian Parliament probably won’t be any harder,” he shrugged then he went over to the main street to catch a taxi.
“Detective Cho, I would like to remind you that if you get into prison here, for my lawyer it’s going to be very hard to get you out,” I called after him and he turned around with opening his arms wide.
“What can I do? Afterall, you hired me to do my job and I promised you to do everything in order to find the murderer.” He started to walk back towards me as he was looking down at his phone.
“Fine,” I tried to close down our conversation but Kyuhyun looked at me with an alarmed face. He raised his phone so I could see its screen and the text message that came on it. It was from his assistant, whose name now I knew was Hong Jisoo.
“By any chance, you know the famous artist Kim Yesung, right?” Detective Cho asked as he took out his notebook with a fancy silver pen.
“Yes, of course, I know him. My parents bought a bunch of his art into their gallery. They were always proud to have such a talented Korean modern artist,” I said without thinking anything more about the situation.
“Interesting…” Detective Cho mumbled as he wrote something down in his notebook. “Just in case I’m going to do a little investigation. I don’t think he was questioned by anyone.”
“But why would he do anything to my parents when they were his loyal buyers?”
“In cases like this, you can never be sure. But don’t worry, I’m not going to make it embarrassing for him or something, I don’t want you to be on awkward terms, especially if he is innocent. So I should go back… that guy is here again,” Detective Cho stated while he pointed towards a boy sitting at a bus stop.
“Oh Junhui… he is so determined,” I chuckled.
“I told him countless times that I don’t want any reports on my case just yet. But he is not determined, he is following orders.” Sighed the detective then he started to go towards the boy. I followed closely behind him.
“Kim Heechul is one hell of a stubborn reporter, huh?” Detective Cho asked the boy as he was leaning to the bus stop’s poll. Junhui looked a bit flustered then he quickly snapped a picture of the detective and I. The flash blinded both of our eyes and during that second he quickly ran away.
“Oh great,” I glanced at his direction after I blinked my eyes.
“There is always something that makes my job more difficult, you see what I’m dealing with?”
“Detective Cho…”
“I told you already to call me Kyuhyun. At this point now I know so much about your personal life that it just feels wrong to not be on more informal terms,” he said with a warm smile on his face. He is just a really puzzling person. Sometimes he is cold as a snake and even scary with his warm smile while saying something disturbing but other times he can be a warm person and show nice emotions.
“Okay, Kyuhyun hyung, please just do what you can asap. And fine… if you have to break into the parliament, just do it. I will contact my uncle- I mean my lawyer, just in case something happens he should be alert,” Kyuhyun patted my shoulder which meant he appreciated my words. Then he went to the side of the road and he finally caught a taxi.
I took a deep breath and I was ready to walk towards the hotel where I booked a suite. I was following the sound of the piano. This time it wasn’t peaceful. I think it sounded more like Vivaldi’s Summer composition. It made me feel tense and I tried to leave the sound behind as soon as I could. But then suddenly my phone started to buzz. It was a call from New York.

Shoot Me & Runaway
mystery & crime fiction with Super Junior and Seventeen
Choi Seungcheol was only twenty-two years old when he lost the two people who were the closest to him. One day, he found himself sitting in his father’s spacious office in Gangnam district listening to his uncle’s words over the phone. Those words remained in his mind for many many years, but the only way he could settle his temper down and close his past was to find the person who killed his parents.
It was obvious it wasn’t just a simple car accident and it was known that his father had enemies. But which of his enemies could do such thing? He had to get to the end of the story, so he hired South Korea’s best detective who he hoped will solve all his problems. But the investigation process wasn’t as easy, as the possible murder happened in another country, far from the Korean peninsula. Besides, Seungcheol had to continue dealing with his father’s business and cracking down the enemies.
While on the other side of the district, in another luxurious and modern glass building, a young woman was meeting her love for the very first time. He was tall, handsome, with lots of skills that didn’t only appeal to her but to her father as well. Together, they were set out to have a successful future with happiness and an easy-going life. But nobody could predict how everything will end tragically.
These people were at the top of the chain, they were everywhere in the media because their money brought them fame, and their fame brought them a curious audience. Everyone wanted to know what is happening in the lives of South Korea’s richest people. But money couldn’t simply solve their problems because they needed help from outsiders. From people who were doing their daily jobs and were far less influential. Yet when the death strikes and problems arise, suddenly money and class status disappear, and they will be bound to the common officers, prosecutors, and any witness who was caught up in the tragedies.
This is not an ordinary story. It is filled with secrets, twists and turns, darkness, agony, mystery, but it is filled with art, love, emotions, passing seasons, hidden messages, and determination. There are many questions to be answered. Who killed the Choi company heir’s parents? Who killed the Seo family’s daughter? Can Detective Lee and Detective Cho help their clients find what they are looking for? Can the police have enough authority to set the difference between suicide and murder? Can lawyers look behind the money and actually take on the risky jobs even if failure is bonded with them? Can simple people who are caught in the middle of chaos continue on with their lives without having nightmares every night?
These questions will be answered in the following posts where we are going to get to know each main characters’ perspective on the great chaos around murder and art. The greatest question, however, arises; whose words will you believe in?

Flight Log: Monarchy Chapter 2.
⎡Synopsis and List of Chapters⎦  ⎡Chapter 1.⎦
Tumblr media
"I don't have money to buy meat. I want to buy it if I can," I hear a voice next to me and I open my eyes. I'm in a car and it's bright outside. It is actually too bright so it takes time for me to adjust to the scene. We are in a big car, with like six people inside. I look at the front and I can tell even from his back that it's Jaebum who is driving. We are moving at a steady pace and I notice that inside of the car there are bluish-greenish small birds holding onto tiny edges. Close to me, a strange looking guy sits. His hair is very light colored almost white while he has a yellow hat on. He is holding a camera and laughs as he points it at me. "Look at the camera, hey!" He says with a cheerful voice then he zooms in on me. "Park Jinyoung!" And with that… I wake up.
I find myself lying on Jaebum's desk and the office seems a lot darker than before I fell asleep. I stretch my arms and I look around as I have a strange feeling. But nobody is in there. I glance down at the folder that is open in front of me and I focus my attention on the new guy's picture. That's when I realize that the bright hair colored guy in my most recent dream is Jackson. I find it strange because I have never met him before and when he said my name it sounded all too familiar. But I conclude that maybe my mind just made up this dream because the last thing I saw before I fell asleep was his picture.
I gather up the documents and close them back in Jaebum's drawer. Then I leave the office and decide to go downstairs to check on Jaebum. When I turn the corners, I hear voices coming from the dining hall so I stop by.
There I see my uncle and my aunt sitting at the table while a stranger is having his back to me. I go in and when they see me, my uncle and aunt stand up and bow.
"Your timing is perfect," chuckles my uncle and he sits back in his usual seat.
The guy turns around and it doesn't surprise me to see Jackson. What surprises me is how different he is in real life. Yes, he still has that sharp face with even bigger scaled puppy eyes as he is in front of me. He has toned muscles but… he is short. Not too short, but shorter than me. And when he looks at me and registers it's me who he is facing, a huge warm grin appears on his face.
"Jinyoung-ah!" He calls out and I shiver for a moment. His voice sounded like as if he was calling me from another room.
"Mr. Wang, please, he is the heir you can't call him like that," my uncle butts in but my aunt places her hand on his.
"Darling, he is a foreigner. Maybe in their place, this is how they treat royalties. He needs to learn our etiquettes first, be patient with him," she tells him off then Jackson sighs deeply.
"I forgot that this is what we live in now," he notes and I'm not quite sure if I understand what he means.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," I say formally and I shake hands with him.
"I'm Jackson Wang and I'm sure by now you heard I'm your new foreign affairs advisor," he says it like as if he just recited a line he had to learn for a presentation.
"Yes, indeed. I'm looking forward to work with you," I nod and a weird silence erupts.
"Perhaps the maid can show Mr. Wang where his office is," my uncle suggests when he starts to feel the awkward environment himself.
"Yes, that's a great idea. I was about to check on Jaebum anyway. Jackson, we can talk tomorrow morning about your duties as the new advisor," I turn to him and he nods, but then he catches on what I just said.
"Is Jaebum hyung okay?" He asks and I give him a questioning look. He sounded like as if he knew him... and he called him hyung so casually.
"He is, I suppose. But why do you care?" My question catches him off guard and he giggles in embarrassment.
"As I'm the new staff member, I should care about other staff members as well," he explains but I can tell he is bullshitting me.
"If you say so," I let him off then I wave and leave the hall. I have a weird feeling about this new guy but I don't want to get too paranoid. My parents were the ones who sent him here, so I can’t do anything just trust their judgment.
I walk slowly towards the hospital wing just so that I can be alone with my thoughts. I have so many questions regarding Jackson but I guess I will get more answers as the days pass. I suddenly have the urge to call my parents and inform them about Jackson and ask some questions, but there is something in me that pulls me back. Or not even pulling me back, but hiding something from me. I suddenly stop in the middle of the corridor and put my hands on my head. I feel that there is something in my mind that is locked away.
Emptiness is rushing through my brain when I try to recall information about my parents. It feels weird but I can't remember when they left and where did they go and why. I have memories of them in my head but I'm starting to realize they have left a long a time ago. For a while now it was just me, Jaebum, Yugyeom, Uncle, Aunt, and occasional guests in the castle. But I felt so empty and lonely. Even the dance we held a month ago seems like a far away memory.
This makes me feel really uncomfortable, almost as if I'm about to lose my mind. To clear out my messy head, I continue to walk towards Jaebum's hospital room and when I open the door and see him peacefully reading, my worries are gone. Everything is back to normal. I guess as long as I have my bodyguard with me who is also my best friend, I don't have to worry about my head.
"Feeling better?" I ask him and when he notices me, he closes his book. He pushes himself up on the bed and shrugs when I sit on the end of it.
"Sort of… I mean the wound hurts a little bit but it's nothing to worry about," he replies and I nod. I sigh and I can tell he notices on me that I'm a bit stressed.
"So… is the new guy here?" He asks and I silently nod. "How is he?"
"Well he looks about the same as on the picture but he is not that intimidating and there is something cheerful and friendly in the way he talks. Maybe because he is a foreigner and has a different kind of mentality. I don't have bad feelings about him. Although…," I start and I want to tell him about his odd behavior but I don't know how to put it into words.
"Is there something negative about him?"
"Well not exactly. It just feels like as if he knew us from before and we met him before. I'm not sure…"
"I mean there are a lot of foreign guests on these monthly parties so maybe he attended a few before. And it seems like your parents know him that is why they appointed him. So it's likely that we met with him before, we just didn't care enough to remember him. There are always a lot of people anyway. You can't remember all of them," he explains and his words make me calm down. It actually makes a lot of sense.
"I guess you are right. Anyway, I don't want to bother you in your reading. I will go upstairs and go to bed early. It was an eventful day," I sigh again and Jaebum nods.
"Good night, Jinyoung-ah," he says and goes back to his reading.
I go upstairs and I'm surprised to see Jackson standing in front of my bedroom. He is looking at one of the paintings that are displayed in the hallway. When I get closer I see it's a painting of a blue Ferris wheel that has yellow, blue, and red carts. For a second it looks like as if the wheel is moving but then I blink a couple of times and I realize it must be my mind playing tricks on me since I'm tired.
"Look at this painting, what does it make you think of?" Suddenly Jackson asks. I wonder how did he know that I was standing behind him.
"Ferris wheels can be usually found in amusement parks where kids go to play during the summer. It's a good ride for those who are scared of roller coasters because these wheels are not going that fast and you can enjoy the view from the top. Although those who are scared of heights can still find it intimidating. But I think they are pleasant, " I answer and he shakes his head.
"That's it?" He asks and he looks at me with big curious eyes.
"Yes, or is there something else?"
"Well… I guess you are right. But I see something more to it. Anyway, I came to thank you for the room you gave me. It's really nice and cozy. I appreciate it," he says and I nod.
"It's no big deal, after all, we royals have to give comfort to people who work closely with us. You'll get used to it soon."
Jackson doesn't say a word for a minute, he just stares at the painting in front of us. I take a closer look at him and the lamp in the hallway makes his face more clear than before. I see that his hair is unnaturally light and when he looks over and smiles kindly at me, he looks a lot like in my dream. It actually all feels too real.
But perhaps Jaebum is right. I might have met him in a party before so that's why he was so familiar to my unconsciousness. I have this feeling to tell him about my dream, but it would probably come off differently if I have said out loud, 'hey Jackson, I had a dream about you even before you arrived in the palace'. Like he might take my intentions in another way.
"Is there something you wanted to talk about?" I ask him as I assume that is why he stopped by my room.
"I have so many questions to ask you…"
"We can discuss your job tomorrow morning. I mean it's not that confusing so you will be fine," I say and I pat his shoulder. He looks at me with sad puppy eyes and he makes me even more confused.
"It's not about the job… it's about this whole place," he tells me as he turns to look around. "How did you manage to make up such place?"
"I didn't make it up, this is where my ancestors, other royals have been living for centuries. I just happened to born here," I reply but I don't think I satisfied him with my answer.
"Never mind, I think I just have to go along with this and maybe with time things will get back to normal. Or at least I hope we won't be trapped here forever…" he says with a deep sigh then he walks away. I feel upset because he just left me hanging with such final words and I keep trying to figure out what he meant. What does he mean by being trapped?
I chase away my heavy thoughts and feelings and I go into my room. I take a warm relaxing bath while listening to music so that I can drown out the silence. When I finish and get into my pajamas, I go to my office. I have to look through the documents for the referendum since I'm sure the parliament will find some mistakes in it regardless. Since I'm just a prince, not a king, I'm not sure if I can make this come true. I don't want to tell my father because I know he would be against it. But I don't want to put my family in danger and just like I said to Mark, it's worth it to take this risk. Even if the people will want to get rid of the monarchy, we will still be just fine. We have enough money and we can move into a much smaller house. If we sell the palace to the government and make a museum out of it, we could get even more money. I have all this figured and calculated out, now I just have to make it come true.
After I finish looking through my papers, I decide to head back to my room. It is stressing me out to go to bed with a tens mind, thinking about what will I dream of tonight. There are curiosity and excitement in me, but on the other hand, I'm anxious because there is something that tells me if my dream continues and doesn't stop in mid-air then I might not be happy with the end. But as in the afternoon, I experienced it, there is a possibility for me to have other realistic dreams. My mind is a black hole with endless possibilities of scenarios that it made up to make me feel uneasy.
I wake up feeling fresh and I realize I didn't have any dreams. This is the first time in weeks and it makes my day start very differently. I jump out of bed excitedly and I draw the curtains just to get greeted by a heavy downpour. Rain can bring down my mood but I feel much better since I didn't have any dreams that I don't even care about the storm.
I go downstairs before the staff arrives in my room. I planned to greet Jaebum but in the middle of the hallway, I notice Jackson rushing in my direction.
"Prince Jinyoung!" He shouts and for some reason, I feel embarrassed. I'm probably even blushing since he called me this way.
"Yes, Jackson," I say as I clear my throat.
"Since Jaebum hyung is recovering from yesterday's incident, I was appointed to give you your daily task," he explains and he gives me a small piece of paper. There aren't many tasks on them since we are mainly focusing now on the party that will be held during the weekend.
"Did you meet with him?" I ask him and he shakes his head. "I'm just asking because you called him hyung… in such a friendly way. Even yesterday..."
"Ah…," he says while scratching his neck. "In China, that's how we do it," he answers and I don't understand what he is saying.
"China? Is that the name of the kingdom you came from?" I ask him and he looks at me with wide eyes.
"You don't know what is China?"
"No… never heard of it. I mean, I wasn't taught a lot of general knowledge of faraway kingdoms. Mainly the ones that surround us," I shrug and he shakes his head with a chuckle.
"Unbelievable… but then what is the name of this kingdom?" I panic because suddenly I don't remember. I dig deep into my memory and I try to remember what father used to tell me. All the lessons he gave Yugyeom and me about the kingdom. Then a sudden memory comes into my mind.
"Narnia."
"Narnia?" Doubts Jackson and he starts to laugh hysterically.
"Ah Jinyoung-ah, you have been reading those books lately, right?" He asks while still laughing. I start to shift my balance from one leg to another as I get annoyed. He makes fun of our kingdom's name and he even forgets to call me formally. When he notices that I'm not too pleased by his reaction, he clears his throat and stays quiet.
"Now that you had a good morning laugh, you should get ready. In an hour I want you to be in my office to talk about your tasks," I say and without him giving me an answer or a bow, I just turn around to leave.
"I can't believe this new guy," I storm into Jaebum's hospital room and I find him sitting on the side of his bed while he is putting on his shoes. "Are they releasing you?"
"Yeah, I'm still a bit slow because of the wound. I have to be careful because it might open again," he tells me and I can see him struggling to put on his shoes. "Are you talking about Jackson, by the way?"
"Yes, he is really confusing me," I tell him and I kneel down on the floor just so that I can help him tie his shoe.
"That's not necessary," he says and tries to protest but I smack his hand.
"You just said so, your wound can open and we don't want that," I tell him and he finally gives up.
"How does he confuse you? Do you… fancy…?"
"Hyung! Don't even think about that, ugh you are so annoying," I cut him off and I pull on his shoelaces stronger than I should and he groans.
"Okay I was just kidding, but what's wrong then?"
"The way he speaks… that's one thing that he keeps on talking to me informally. I can get over that because you talk to me like this too, he is a foreigner, and he is the same age as me so whatever. But there are so many times when he talks ambiguously. I can't make sense out of what he is saying and sometimes I feel he knows something that I don't," I explain to Jaebum and when I'm done tying his shoe I sit down in a chair next to his bed.
"Do you want me to investigate on him furthermore?"
"You don't have to. You should just get some rest. Besides, I don't think he is dangerous. He is… he is just weird. We will see as time passes…" I tell him while also telling myself.
"Okay… if that's how you feel," Jaebum shrugs. "You should have some breakfast."
At the table, it was a surprise for me to see a new guest.
“Choi Youngjae,” I call out my old friend who is impatiently waiting for the breakfast to arrive.
“Jinyoung hyung, so nice to see you,” he greets me as he stands up and hugs me. It’s been a while since I saw him and he changed a little. He got taller and even more muscular. He is starting to become more manly but there is still that sunshine personality radiating from him.
“Where have you been all this time?” I ask him as I sit down at my usual spot. Yugyeom is not here yet neither my uncle and aunt.
“I was just traveling around the world and having performances. Now I’m finally home again and I’m ready to be your official pianist on this upcoming ball,” he declares excitedly and I smile warmly at him.
“That’s great. We really missed your incredible performances in the past months. I’m sure Yugyeom will be happy to see you too,” I say and at that moment Yugyeom and BamBam run through the main door of the dining hall.
“Hyung!” They both call out and run to Youngjae to hug him.
“That’s one thing that little prince Yugyeom is towering over me, but BamBam what happened since I last saw you?” Asks Youngjae with an awkward chuckle.
“As Yugyeom’s best friend I can’t let him be twice as tall as me, so I needed to catch up,” BamBam says with a big smile on his face. Everything seems peaceful just like in the old times.
“Breakfast is ready!” Calls out the maid and our plates are getting served. We stay quiet as we eat. I find it odd that Uncle and Aunt are not eating with us, but they always have some things to take care of. Jaebum usually doesn’t eat with us but I was hoping that he will make an exception for at least today when he is still recovering.
“How is the new guy?” Asks Yugyeom when he finishes his breakfast.
“Jackson?” I ask and he nods. “He is okay, I mean I haven’t known him for long but I think we will be fine with him,” I tell him and he looks relieved.
“I have to tell you something, but maybe when it’s just the two of us,” he says and I look at him worriedly so he continues. “Nothing serious but just as one brother to another brother talking about my small concerns since our parents are not home.” He explains. I want to ask him more but when I see him awkwardly looking around, I leave it to him.
I can hear the rain still steadily falling on the ground next to the palace. It keeps on knocking on the windows and I can hear a low howling of the wind. Everything seems ordinary and nothing is out of place. I feel good in the present and I enjoy the food that got served for breakfast. But there is still something bothering me. When I get deeper in my head and it’s just me and my thoughts, I feel anxious. Worries flash in my mind and I try to chase them away but they are persistent. That is why I try to make small conversations with the boys around me. Basically about anything just so that I can get my mind away from thinking into useless things that will not help my mental state to be more positive.
“I'm very excited for the ball,” mentions Yugyeom when he shows the tasks on his phone. We still have many things to do but we set a date and sent out the invitations to at least a hundred guests so we are progressing.
“I’m nervous to hold it since mom and dad are not here but if I remember well, there weren’t any problems last month either,” I think out aloud and Yugyeom happily nods.
“There weren’t any problems. I mean it was a bit boring but this time, it will be lot more fun,” he predicts and his enthusiasm makes me smile.
“I have to go and talk to Jackson. You guys should just continue with the planning and I will join you later,” I say as I finish my breakfast and clean my mouth with a napkin. I stand up and walk closer to Youngjae who looks even more tired after he finished well his breakfast. “As always you get our biggest guest room on the third floor so please get some rest. You must have had a long trip,” I pat his back and he slowly nods his head.
“I did and I will go upstairs just in a minute. But first I want to say hi to Jaebum hyung so I’ll look for him now,” Youngjae stands up and shakes my hand then he leaves before me. I wave to Yugyeom and BamBam then I leave the hall as well.
Jackson is already waiting for me by the door. He is zoning out, so at first, he doesn’t notice that I’m there. I take out my key and unlock the door. A weird smell welcomes me which means I need to open the window to let some fresh air in. I poke Jackson’s shoulder and he realizes that he can come in the office now. I motion towards the chair for him to sit. It’s the place where almost twenty-four hours ago Mark Tuan was sitting and drinking bourbon. The two guests seem different from each other but there is something common. They both make me feel uneasy.
“So, Your Majesty, what do I have to know about this job?” He asks in a sarcastic tone and I roll my eyes at him but I try to not care about his attitude.
“Basically you have to attend important meetings when we discuss relations to our neighbors. You have to research and learn about our history at first and how we communicated with other kingdoms in the past. These are very important for you to know in order to understand why are we in our current situation with them. I heard the King and the Queen hired you because on their diplomatic trip they realized that we are not on good terms with others around us. So we are looking for ways to improve that and that is going to be your job to figure out how so...” I pause to see if he is taking any notes or if he shows any interest in the matter. But nothing. “Jackson, are you paying attention?”
“Of course I am,” he says with confused facial expression and he straightens himself in the chair.
I glance at Jackson with a cold look just so that he can realize that I’m not in a good mood. I just don’t understand why my parents would hire someone who doesn’t even seem fit for the job. I sigh and I press the bridge of my nose to calm down. But then I take another look at Jackson and he seems apologetic.
“Listen... there must be a good reason why my parents wanted you to come to the palace and work with me. So I don’t doubt that. But now that you are here, you have to work hard and try to get accustomed to the way our kingdom goes. I will give you a home and you don’t have to worry about any of the necessities. But in exchange, I ask you to give your all to this job,” I explain to him calmly and I make sure that my tone doesn’t sound rude but still stern somehow.
“You talk exactly like our boss,” he sighs but I barely make out what he is saying. I assume by boss he means my dad. “You are right. I came to this place because they saw some potential in me and now I have to work hard to keep my position... in the palace. This is so much like when I became a trainee,” he chuckles and for some reason, he looks excited. I don’t understand what he means by trainee but again I can just assume that it might be something regarding the time he started to work in foreign affairs.
“I’m glad you understand,” I say with a light smile just so that I don’t seem too cold.
An awkward silence enters the room and I wait for him to say something. He mentioned last night that he had many questions to ask me, but now he was just staring awkwardly at my desk.
“I noticed that you don’t have any family pictures,” he speaks up suddenly.
“You are right... we don’t have any,” I say when I look around my office and try to recall the pictures on the wall from the hallway. “I don’t know why is that,” I wonder out loud and I start to feel uncomfortable. Again that empty feeling enters my chest.
“This place seems really weird to me, but I will try to get used to it... for now,” concludes Jackson and I can’t say anything so I just nod.
“If you have any questions and you can’t find me, then ask Jaebum. Later on I will introduce the two of you,” I tell him as I stand up. He follows and we shake hands then he turns to leave the room. He looks back for a moment and I have that feeling he wants to say something else, but then a knock on the office door stops him from it.
“Then, I’ll see you later,” he says and opens the door. Yugyeom is standing there and when he notices Jackson he freezes for a moment.
“Oh, Yugs, this is Jackson our new staff member. Jackson, he is Prince Yugyeom, my younger brother,” I introduce the two of them and Jackson has a warm smile on his face as he looks Yugyeom up and down.
“Nice to meet you,” he says and extends his hand towards Yugyeom. My brother looks like as if he has seen a ghost and the way he shakes Jackson’s hand is very cautious.
When Jackson leaves the room, Yugyeom slowly walks in and he seems paler than ever.
“What is wrong with you?”
“Hyung... you won’t believe it what I’m going to say,” he says and sinks down in the chair where Jackosn just sat. “I heard you and Jaebum talk about your dreams often so I thought you might be interested in mine too. And I thought it’s just a regular dream... but now that I have seen Jackson in real life... I can tell you he was in my dream even before I met him...” He tells me and for a second I keep quiet to think about what he just said.
“But I think there is a possibility that you have met before. I mean for Jaebum and even for me too he felt familiar,” I try to calm him down but he shakes his head.
“I don’t think so... and in my dream, he was friends with us and he was so carefree. But that’s not the end of it. You know who else was in my dream and was having fun with us?” He asks and I shake my head because of obviously I don’t know. “Mark Tuan.”
“Mark? Have you ever met him before?”
“No! That’s what my point is. I have had this dream with both Jackson and Mark when I’m not even close to them,” this is making me more confused than my own dreams.
“This is definitely weird... but dreams can be very absurd and unpredictable. Maybe... your mind is just very messy because of the pressure you have on yourself for planning the ball,” For his and my own sake I try to come up with a reasonable explanation but it doesn’t calm Yugyeom.
“I don’t think so hyung... it all felt too real,” he replies then he gets quiet for a while.
“What really happened in your dream?”
“We were in a car. In like a minivan or a small bus, I’m not sure. Jaebum was driving, BamBam was in the back of the car, sleeping. Youngjae and Jackson encouraged me to draw funny pictures on BamBam’s face with a marker. Jackson was filming the whole thing. Mark and you were sitting together. You were listening to music and occasionally you joined our conversation. It was so simple... but so real,” he explains and this time it hits me harder.
“Now this is getting more interesting...” I sigh and he looks at me questioningly. “I had the same dream yesterday.”

Flight Log: Monarchy  Chapter 1.
Synopsis and List of Chapters
Tumblr media
The same dream again.
I'm standing on top of a building by the edge, I look at the sky then at the ground down in front of me. It's far away and it is pulling me down. Behind me, the sun is slowly setting and the wind gently touches my hair. My mind tells me to jump but my heart is telling me to wait for something. I close my eyes and I extend my arms, waiting for the wind to pick me up and blow me away. Then I can feel it. I can feel my body slowly falling off from the building. It's such a slow motion I barely notice the moving but as the wind lifts up my hair, even more, I know I'm not standing anymore. And as I'm falling, I open my eyes and I look at the air around me. A teardrop escapes and it feels like I'm looking for something or someone. But before I hit the ground, I wake up in a pool of sweat on my bed.
I wait until my eyes get adjusted to the dark room and I look for the glass of water on my bedside table. I have been having these dreams for a couple of days now and whenever I wake up, I can feel my throat being dry and I'm longing for water. I dab my sweaty forehead with my blanket, then I climb out of my king sized bed and step into my slippers. I walk into the bathroom and wash my face. I also toss my pajamas in the laundry basket and take out a new set of clean ones from my walk-in closet. I get back to my bedroom and check the time. It's 6:57. Soon Jaebum will walk in with all the tasks I will have to complete for today and my day will start to feel more ordinary.
I sit down on my bed and I close my eyes. Deep inside of me, I can still feel the air that surrounded me in my dream. I feel the wind and how much I wanted to jump. But that anticipation is killing me. I don't know what will happen after I land and what am I longing for?
"Sir, here is your task for today," Jaebum's formal voice pulls me back into real life and I open my eyes to look at him. There are other staff members in my room to clean up and let the light in by drawing away the heavy and ancient curtains. Once they leave, Jaebum sits down next me on my bed and looks at me with a worried face. "Did you have a nightmare again?" He asks, now he is less formal.
"The same dream again… I don't know what to think of it," I tell him and he nods. He hands me a piece of paper with all the things I have to complete by the end of the day.
At 8:00 I have breakfast with my brother and a couple of Lords who are my father's loyal followers. Then at 10:00 I have to go for a walk with one of the anti-monarchy leaders to negotiate peace between their group and the monarchy. At 13:00 I have a free time to go and practice horse riding and hunting. So far everything seems ordinary but at 16:00 I have to meet with a new member of the staff who is coming all the way from the far away lands. I look at Jaebum questioningly and point at that specific point.
"Oh, that…" He says as he is scratching his head. "I have no idea who is that but your uncle said he is coming to join the people who are dealing with foreign affairs. Since His and Her Majesty are away on diplomatic trips, they noticed they need to make the kingdom's ties stronger so they are hiring this person. I will do a background check on him while you are out on the breakfast with the Prince," Jaebum concludes and I nod in agreement. I fold up the paper and put it on my bedside table.
"Jinyoug-ah," turns Jaebum back from the door. When it's just the two of us, he usually doesn't call me by formal names. He is older than me and I have known him since we were little so I prefer it this way.
"What is it?" I ask him. He looks like he is hiding something and he wants to tell me but doesn’t know how.
"I had a dream too… tonight was the first time for it," he tells me and he goes silent while he searches for the right words. "I was driving a car… and I remember I wasn't alone. There were others too. I don't remember their faces because I was mainly focusing on the road. But I heard someone calling your name and laughing. Though his voice was unfamiliar. I'm not too sure but I think something happened in the car. Like an accident… but I woke up so I can't tell what else happened," he explains and I listen to every detail carefully. It seems like an ordinary dream but what makes me think is who were the other people?
"It doesn't seem like a concerning dream, but if you dream about it again or more to the whole story, just let me know," I tell him and he nods. He hesitates but then he turns and leaves my room.
"Hyung," calls Yugyeom as he is running down the hallway. "Look, BamBam finished my suit. Do you think this is fancy enough for the Lords?" He asks in excitement and I take a closer look at him.
"It's not bad," I conclude. It’s an emerald-colored suit with darker green patterns on it. They look like endlessly growing vines with occasional red flowers on them. The flowers are not too flashy, they are rather stylish and complete the all green look. BamBam is known for his fancy and showy designs, which is why I don't let him design my clothes or generally dress me. But he fits well with Yugyeom's taste.
"He knows me too well…" says Yugyeom as he looks in the tall mirror that is positioned by the entrance of the dining hall. He looks at himself from top to bottom and even turns a little to check how he looks in the back.
"Of course he knows you well, you two grew up together. You are like twins. Sometimes I feel like you love him more as a brother than me," I scoff and Yugyeom turns to me with a shocked face.
"Hyung, you can't be serious. You know I love you too," he says and I laugh.
"I just wanted to hear you say that," I reply and he rolls his eyes at me.
"Gentlemen, please take a seat at the table," suddenly speaks up one of the maids from the dining hall.
We walk in and sit down by our usual spots. At the end of the table, there is father's seat. Empty, as it has been for weeks now. Then on his right side, it's my seat and on his left, it's Yugyeom's. The other far end is my mother's, which is also empty. I see my uncle walk in and take a seat on my mother's right. He is her brother after all.
"Good morning, kids," he says with a cheerful voice. Our uncle is usually in a good mood, especially since he doesn't have so much weight on his shoulders. Even if he is the more responsible adult around, when our parents are away I have to take over everything as I'm the rightful heir to the throne.
"Uncle, what do you think of my new suit?" Asks Yugyeom brightly. Our uncle is sitting farther away from him, so he can't see it well but tries to come up with an opinion.
"It looks very professional and luxurious. As if it would be from a very expensive brand," he says as he is stroking his chin. Yugyeom smiles widely at his comment.
"BamBam is the one who made it. I told you he has a talent for it," says Yugyeom. In the meantime, I can hear through the open windows that cars are arriving by the front steps.
"You are right, he seems like a very talented kid. For the ball we had last month he designed a beautiful dress for my wife and she absolutely loved it," he tells Yugyeom who nods in agreement.
"Where is Aunt today?" I ask from Uncle as I get reminded by his comment.
"Well… she left to meet that new guy at the airport. He is getting a full royal greeting and she was the only available person to do that," answers Uncle and he gets up when he hears the huge oak double doors opening.
"Good morning, gentlemen, " he says loudly when the Lords step in. It's only a handful of them since my father left on his diplomatic trip, the Lords don't want to deal with his amateur son. A.k.a me. I spot Jaebum by the door who is in charge of escorting the men inside the dining hall. After they are all seated, Jaebum leaves the room and probably leaves for his office to search more about our mysterious guest.
The Lords can't wait to start their breakfast so our conversation is pushed back until we finish with the first two courses. My stomach doesn't let a lot of food inside, especially as I'm still under the feeling of falling. Since I started to have these dreams, my breakfast usually consists of one apple and a glass of water. When I went to see BamBam for a suit fitting for the upcoming monthly ball, he mentioned that it seems like I lost some weight. He might be right about that.
"Your Majesty, we have some concerning news for you and the kingdom," speaks up one of the Lords after he cleaned off the leftover breakfast on his mustache. I wonder how concerning the news is if he waited for almost a full five-course breakfast to tell it to me.
"What is it?" I ask and I try to look interested. Around times like this, especially when my father is away, they come to me with concerns how they need better baseball stadiums, upgraded pubs, more parties around the palace for "donation", or they ask me to marry their daughters.
"We heard you are meeting with one of the leaders of the anti-monarchy group," starts the Lord and I straighten myself in my seat as this is new. It seems like this time they do want to talk to me about a real concern. "Rumor has it since your parents are away, they are planning to have a mass demonstration and even try to overthrow the palace. I know it sounds ridiculous because the monarchy has the best army out there, but I just wanted to let you know," he concludes and I nod to thank him.
"Very well, thank you for letting me know about it. Indeed, today I'm supposed to meet with Mr. Mark Tuan and I'm hopeful I can talk him out of his shenanigans but I'm not sure if I can succeed," I tell them honestly and worry grows bigger in their eyes.
"Can't you just offer money or women to him?" Asks one of the Lords and I strongly shake my head.
"The previous leader was a greedy gambler but Mr. Tuan seems stronger when it comes to money. And my dear Lord, the monarchy is not claiming property over women so of course, we are not going to do such thing," I tell him with a colder tone and he doesn't seem to be in the mood for an argument.
"But I heard the Queen herself used to be a mistress of your father who worked behind the walls of the castle as a dancer," butts in one of the Lords. I can feel my arms tensing up and I want to jump across the table to punch him in the face until he bleeds to death. Yugyeom is about to stand up but I hold him back. Before I can speak up, my uncle clears his throat.
"How dare you disrespect the Queen in her own home when she is not even present?" He asks and I bitterly smile at him.
"I just told you what I heard… that's all," the Lord tries to save himself but I can't let him go that easily.
"So you are giving in to the rumors that our mother used to be a whore," I speak up and he avoids looking into my eyes. "Our mother, the Queen of this Kingdom, used to be a dancer yes, at the Royal Ballet Theatre. Our father, the King, fell in love with her when they were both kids and he saw her dance on stage. He broke up the fake engagement with a shallow Duchess and instead married the love of his life who later on gave birth to the heirs of this Kingdom, who now you are talking to while disrespecting their mother after you finished eating the royal breakfast they gave you. Any more information you want me to clarify? Or will you be able to sleep well tonight, Sir?" I ask and he slightly nods his head. I can see a cheeky triumphant smile on Yugyeom's face, which probably mirrors my own.
"Forgive me, Your Majesty," the Lord says and he slowly bows his head. I wave my hand and I gesture for them to leave.
After a couple of minutes, it's just me and Yugyeom.
"How dare he… that dickhead," he says then I slightly hit his head.
"Language," I warn him and he rolls his eyes at me.
"But really hyung… how are you going to convince that Mark guy to not attack us?" Asks Yugyeom with worry in his eyes. I sigh because I don't know the answer.
"I wish father was here. He would talk him out of it so easily. But for me… he doesn't respect me. He is older and he wasn't even born in this kingdom so I can tell him whatever, he will just think of me as a loser," I tell Yugyeom and he doesn't look too pleased.
"But if he wasn't even born here, why does he care if there is a monarchy or not?"
"Jaebum told me a little about him when he became the new leader. It is said that he was able to overthrow the monarchy in the country where he was born and now he is on a mission to free all nations from greedy and useless monarchs. He is some kind of Robin Hood I guess," I scoff and Yugyeom looks even more concerned. "Don't worry about it. It's my job to deal with him. You should just go and prepare for the ball. Since mom and dad are not home, we have to do everything to make it perfect. This time it will be especially important. We will have a new member and it’s going to be the anniversary of our kingdom. So don't mess it up," I warn him and he nods. I ruffle his hair, which he absolutely hates, but he still lets me.
It's 09:45 and I stand in the garden with Jaebum by my side. We are waiting for Mark Tuan to arrive and until then we are bathing in the early summer sun. The garden finally grew out its green cover and everything looks more refreshing after the long cold winter. There are still some spring flowers that bloomed later than usual and green little birds are flying weightlessly around the cherry trees. The huge marble fountain in the middle of the garden is spitting water high up towards the sky. Occasionally I can feel the drops on my face as the wind pushes them in our way.
"I'm going to keep my eyes on you closely, so if he is up to something I will just shoot him in an instant," tells me Jaebum with a low voice and I nod. Although I'm not worried about that. Mark Tuan seems like a dangerous person but he is not a fool. He wouldn't kill the heir because it would be totally useless.
"What a beautiful place for our date," I hear a familiar voice and as I turn around, I spot Mark. He is wearing a simple black and white outfit with cheap looking Adidas sneakers. He looks around the garden then his eyes finally settle on us. He gives Jaebum a cocky smile then he steps by my side and puts his arm around my shoulder. "So you wanted to talk…" He says and he acts like as if we have been best buddies since we were born.
"Yes, I wanted to but please keep your distance," I say and I shake off his hand. He raises his hands and steps back a little.
"I forgot how you royalties are very sensitive about your privacy and personal space," he sighs then he puts his hands into his jeans pockets. He looks at Jaebum, who now I notice is holding his gun up high, aiming at Mark.
"That's not necessary," I say and put my hand on his. Jaebum hesitates, but then he lowers his gun and puts it away.
"Kevin Costner is not coming with us, right?" Asks Mark as he references The Bodyguard movie. Jaebum gives him a death stare and I slightly chuckle.
"No, it's just you and Whitney Huston. Now, shall we go?" I ask and I start to walk.
We walk around the flowers that my mom planted with Yugyeom when we were children. I remember they were crouching all day under the burning sun while I was practicing hunting with dad. Those days were good days, as I didn't have to worry about too many things and our family seemed to be at ease. But maybe it wasn't, but as a kid, I didn't realize all the troubles that the kingdom ran into.
"I wanted to negotiate with you," I start and Mark doesn't say anything and I take that as a sign that I can continue. "You know since the King and the Queen are away on a diplomatic trip, I am the one who has to deal with the Kingdom's domestic plan," I tell him and he slightly nods. I find it surprising that he is patiently listening to me.
There are sparrows skipping around the flowers and they fly away whenever we walk closer to them. The air is still and I can smell the fresh greens of the garden. I motion for Mark to sit on a bench by the roses that are yet to bloom. He sits down and I sit next to him. We are both looking at the fountain in the distance, where Jaebum is standing and is looking at us. He doesn't have his gun out but I know he can take it out in any second and shoot just right at his target. I have seen him do that before.
"I'm willing to give you a deal," I say to Mark and he looks at me curiously.
"I don't think there is any deal you can give me that I would like," he says as he shakes his head.
"I will give out a referendum to the general public and I will let them decide if they want to keep the monarchy or not," I explain to him and his eyes grow wider. For a couple of minutes he doesn't say anything, he just stares into my eyes, looking for the trick that he thinks I have planted in my deal.
"Why would you do that?"
"Because I want you to stop. If the general public votes for the monarchy then you and your people have to stop sabotaging our rule because then you would have to accept that you are in the minority group and most people want us to lead. But if they say they don't want the monarchy, only parliamentary rule, then we stop with this parade and at least I can save my family from an anti-monarchist uprising," I tell him with a serious tone and he still can't figure out what's the catch.
"Is this your plan or your father's?" He asks and I sigh.
"It's mine. He doesn't know… but soon I will be the King anyway, and I will do what my people want." Mark looks away from me and gets deep in his thoughts. He definitely didn't expect this. Which actually makes me feel superior to him for the first time.
"Do you trust your people this much?" He asks, still not looking at me.
"I have faith in them… but most importantly I want to protect my family," I tell him. I look at the garden and think of my mother who probably can't wait to get home to us.
"What will you do without your royal status then? Won't you miss it?" I don't know how to answer these questions because I didn't think this far. So I just shrug. Suddenly Mark lets out a laugh but it's more like "I can't believe you" laugh. I shift in my seat and I look at Jaebum. For a second I can see that he is not paying attention to us, but something else grabbed his attention. At that moment Mark suddenly kneels up on the bench, grabs my arm with one of his hands and with the other, he puts a knife at my throat.
"Am I a joke to you? Do you think you can convince me with this bullshit? You put out a referendum?! Don't make me lose my temper you royal asshole!" He yells and his knife is cutting deeper into my skin but I don’t feel any pain. I look into his eyes which are wild as a bloodthirsty animal's.
"Mark, this is not a joke. I'm seriously considering doing it and will probably do it before the King and the Queen return home," I say as I put up my hands in defense. I don't know how I can prove myself to Mark but what concerns me more is where the hell is Jaebum?
"Prove it! Prove it that you are not just making this shit up," Mark yells again and I sigh.
"You have to let me go for that," I tell him and after a few seconds, he lets go of me. I touch my neck but there is no cut on my skin. He didn't go that far.
I stand up and tell him to follow me. I look over to where Jaebum was standing, but he is gone. I start to have a bad feeling in my chest but I continue to walk towards the palace. Mark is closely following me and he still has his knife out in his hand.
At the door, a guard stands and looks at us with concern.
"We are fine, but Jaebum just disappeared so look for him" I order him. He bows then he leaves his spot to look for my bodyguard/assistant.
I walk in the right wing of the palace then towards the stairs. I start to go a bit slower since Mark has a hard time to catch up. I assume it's his first time in the palace so it takes him some moments to adjust to all the luxury.
"If you want I can give you a tour," I suggest but he scoffs.
"You think you would convince me of the goodness of the monarchy with that?"
"No, bad at least I could teach you some history about our kingdom," I shrug and he rolls his eyes at me.
"I don't give a fuck about your kingdom," he replies then he catches up with me.
We walk a little more until we reach my office on the second floor. I open the door with my key that I always keep on a silver chain. When we step inside, the smell of my books greets my nose and I feel calmer in the familiar environment.
I point at an armchair in front of my desk for Mark and he sits down. I open the window behind my desk to let some fresh air in. My view is right towards the garden and I can see the guard searching for Jaebum with not so much luck. This makes me anxious but I have a guest to take care of.
I sit down at my desk and take out some files from the drawer. One of them is an official paper that I have written with hand and stamped with my initials that probably mean more than any parliament member's but not more than my father's. Those documents are yet to be reviewed by the parliament and approved by my father. I have just prepared in advance to have them once I finalize my decision. I hand the folder to Mark who at last put his knife back into his packet.
The sun has left that side of the building so a mysterious darkness enters the room. Mark carefully reads through the documents while furrowing his eyebrows. Then when he finishes he throws them on top of my desk and they slide onto my lap. I gather them and I look at Mark and wait for his response.
He is quiet, which means he is thinking. It's really not what he was expecting.
"Going through just one part of the palace, I question why would you give up all this wealth and luxury?" He asks and now his tone is calmer and not intimidating.
"I told you, I would do anything to protect my family," I answer shortly and he shakes his head.
"Do you think we would really hurt you this much?"
"I heard this morning you want to rebel against us but even before that, I learned about you and your methods of overthrowing a monarchy. They didn't end so well for the Royals," I remind him and he looks down on his hands. As if he would feel ashamed.
"Those actions were not ordered by me. Look, Jinyoung, I'm not a monster. I just want justice and republic for the people," he says finally looking up at me. I nod and wait for him to continue. But then I realize I didn't even ask him if he wants to drink something. I stand up and walk over the glass cabinet to take out some liquor and glasses.
"What do you want to drink?" I ask and he turns towards me.
"Bourbon," he answers and I smile at his choice. A true patriot.
"So I guess we are sort of on the same side," I tell him as I hand him his drink. I sip my wine and I sit down again.
"Unfortunately, yes… but I wonder if you can really order this referendum," he says then he tastes his liquor and he has an impressed reaction to it.
"I will try my best. But Mark, you have to promise me that either way, you are not going to let things get out of hand and into a violent mess," I warn him and he nods.
"You get one week. If one week from now the referendum is not announced by the parliament then we are going to take things into a different measure. But remember, even if I'm the leader, it's not up to me if the angry anti-monarchists will use violence or not. Let it be your family or your loyalists," he declares and I sigh. What is a leader if he doesn't even have power? But then I have to look into the mirror and find myself in the same situation.
"I understand. We should be in touch. Now if you don't mind have an appointment at 13:00 and I can't miss it," I tell him as I look down on my watch. I like my free time as an official schedule because I can use it as an excuse for me to get rid of unwanted guests.
Mark stands up and drinks up the bourbon then places the cup on my desk. He glances at me one last time then he turns to leave the office. In the speaker, I order the guard that is in the hallway to walk Mark out of the palace. Then I stand up and look out to scan the garden. What I see worries me and I quickly close my office then on the secret staircase I run down to the garden.
"Hyung!" I hear Yugyeom as he is by the scene too. Jaebum is being carried by the guard and he is bleeding by his stomach.
"Who did this to you?" I ask him as I try to cover his wound and stop the bleeding.
"One of Mark's people. But he said that his next target will be Mark, so I don't know if he is really their leader. This… this doesn't make sense," says Jaebum while struggling to let out his words. He seems weak and probably lost a lot of blood.
"Is the doctor on his way already?" I ask Yugyeom and he nods. He looks paler than usual.
"He won't die, right?" He asks and I put my hand on his shoulder. Suddenly I forget that both of my hands are covered with Jaebum's blood and I leave some stain on his new suit.
"He is strong. I know he can get through this too," I say but those words are more important in calming myself down.
The doctor is already in the palace when we get inside. Jaebum suddenly drops down on the floor when the guard fails to carry him longer. I take things into my hands and I lift Jaebum up myself. He is heavy especially as he is letting himself go due to all the blood loss. Yugyeom also helps to carry him to the hospital wing.
When we get there, the doctor right away starts to stop his bleeding and stitches up his wound. It's getting too late for him to give him painkillers so he just does everything while Jaebum is screaming in pain. It's awful to listen to but I have to be there so that I can support him. Whenever he gets wounded because of me, a huge guilt envelops me and I have to chase away my negative thoughts about losing my best friend.
It takes half an hour after everything is settled. In this whole chaos I forgot about what Jaebum said and I didn't have the chance to warn Mark. But anger gets over me because after all the person who stabbed Jaebum was one of his people. I don't care if Mark didn't order this himself, it still happened.
"How are you feeling?" I ask Jaebum after the doctor leaves. He looks like he is about to pass out in any second.
"Like a pile of shit, but I survive I guess," he says and lets out a small laugh but stops right after because his stomach is still hurting.
"You should get some sleep," I tell him and pat his shoulder.
"Sorry, I ruined your free time," he says and I wave.
"It's fine, I wasn't in the mood for hunting anyway. I should get ready for the meeting with this mysterious person," I say and he suddenly sits up.
"Right, I almost forgot. I left a folder of information of this guy in my office. I didn't find a lot of things but you should read it," he says. I thank him then I leave for his office.
His office is located fairly close to mine so it's a familiar route. I open the door with the same key that opens mine. Inside everything is neat and a lot more organized than my office. He also has pictures put on his wall, most of them from our childhood and from our travels to different countries and kingdoms.
I sit down at his desk and open the folder that is placed on top. The first file that greets me is a short bio of the man. At first, I think he might be older than me as there is a portrait picture of him in the left corner. But in his information, it says he is actually the same age as me. He has a strong built and shorter hair that is dyed brown. He has large friendly eyes but a stern face. He is really not the way I imagined him to be. I can't decide if I should fear him or let him get close to my family. But as I don't have another choice, I have to greet him. I look for his name and it's right on the top right corner of the paper.
"Jackson Wang."

[Monday to Saturday] Chapter 2. - Wonwoo’s Counseling Day
Chapter 1 ✧ Warmup Post ✧ Masterlist
Still recovering from yesterday’s adventure, it takes a while for me to get up from bed. Thankfully, I only have classes in the afternoon so I still have time to get ready. When I slowly step out from my room, I notice Joshua hyung on the couch, staring blankly in front of him.
“Hyung, what’s going on?” I ask him while I rub the sleepiness away from my eyes. He is still looking at the space in front of him, not turning towards my direction.
“I’m thinking about closing the Christian club,” he sighs and finally looks up at me. “There are only two people in the club. Me and the girl from my Asian history class who I’m pretty sure is actually Buddhist. Which I have nothing against, of course. But I keep wondering why she wants to be in the club.”
“Oh I wonder too,” I say sarcastically but Joshua hyung just doesn’t get it. We all know that girl has had a crush on him ever since high school. It’s just amazing how he has a zero clue about it when that girl basically follows him everywhere. “But is it that hard to get more people in the club?”
“Yes, it is. I put up so many fliers around the hallways and even in the café I hand them out to people. But nobody is interested. Do you remember when I stood in the freezing weather outside the café to play on my guitar and sing Christian songs? People just threw snowballs at me…” he complains and I pat his back as I pass by him on my way to the kitchen. I pour tea for Joshua hyung and myself and I join him on the couch.

[Monday to Saturday] Chapter 1. - Wonwoo Needs to Fall in Love
Warmup Post ✧ Masterlist
“She walks into the room, she looks at him, and says, I regret dating all of those guys before you, I regret making fun of you when you were just a simple nerd playing games for hours at one sitting, now I realize you are the only one I love. Then he stands up, slowly walks to her and says, You only love me now because you figured out my father is a CEO, you only love me for my money! He shouts then he walks out from the room and slams the door!”
Everyone in the room, including me, is silently blinking and processing what just happened. Seungcheol hyung is standing passionately on the couch while holding my script up high.
“Hyung, I think that’s a terrible idea. We are not going to win this competition with such a cliché storyline,” says Jihoon with his arms crossed, which makes Seungcheol hyung get off the couch with a deep sigh.
“You are such a party pooper. People love drama scenarios, we should do something similar,” he still pushes and Jihoon rolls his eyes.
“But we are not doing this for average people! A strict professional film community will judge every submission so we have to come up with something more creative,” adds Jihoon and he grabs my script and looks through it again.
“I quite like what Wonwoo wrote… I think that’s pretty exciting and they might like it,” shrugs Soonyoung and I shake his hand.
“Fine, but there is some stuff where you should add more emotions,” Seungcheol hyung says as he turns towards me and he pats my shoulder.
“Yes, sir.”

Hello there...
Previously I have started to post my fan fictions on different tumblrs I have created but decided it would be wiser to have everything on one page. I did not want my main k-pop blog to have my fictions on them because between all my reblogs and occasional edits it would be confusing and troublesome to find them and even for me to organize them.
Monday to Saturday only has two chapters posted and they will be kept where they are now. (I will reblog them here for the sake of organization lol)
Sine Shoot Me and Runaway didn’t have a lot of notes previously, I will just re-upload the chapters here. For now, I’m keeping the other blog but I might delete it later.
As for my Hogwarts x K-pop AUs, they are not really coming along so far lol whatever I have on my main blog and will have in the future will all be posted here.
For now I'm mainly working on Monday to Saturday but hopefully, soon I can continue writing SMAR. And in the future might even bring more and shorter stuff so stay tuned!
