Reposting this from twitter, but something I think about often is how LQG’s death went down in pidw. Like, not just how he died but also, what made others so certain SQQ killed him? How it affected SQQ later in life etc.

So there is this portion in the novel when SY is in his dream realm and he sees LQG’s and YQY’s deaths and infers that this must be how they died in the og novel.

So it makes me wonder if part of SJ’s personal despair about LQG’s death is pulling out Cheng Luan from LQG’s hand to stop LQG from hurting himself further, but only causing a waterfall of blood to fall as a result and him helpless to stop it.

SQQ found in the lingxi caves with his clothes stained in the blood of his martial sibling. It’s puts a new light on the sort of image the other peak lords would have seen, and how useless a claim of innocence would be in SQQ’s perspective.

From the airplane extras we can get a hint from the author about what went down in pidw, and now I wonder about his specific choice of words “Jumping into the Yellow river won’t wash you clean!”

Would he have frequent dreams of trying to wash himself of LQG’s blood?

The Scum Villain is problematic discourse cycle is the funniest thing ever because no matter how much you hate student teacher relationships you'll never hate them as much as the main character of Scum Villain who left such fervent hate comments about hating a character he thought was having a student teacher relationship that the author of the book he was reading would have nightmares about him 20 years after the fact
