Headcanon #4 - FATHERHOOD

Note: these headcanons are exclusively made for my main verse of him and Cloud running away 

Zack made a joke that he’d adopt Cloud as his child.

Seriously…!!

The Chocobo Head was a gigantic baby. Being comatose, Cloud would pee and defecate whenever he needed! And the worse part of it, y'know baby would cry for the Mom’s attention, but this one was even unable to make a sound. So, it’d be a lucky day when Zack figured a disgusting smell from the baby’s seat and then find feces there after some days. Jackpot!!

“We aren’t playing a doll-house here but well, bet Aerith would love it. Yeah, we’d adopt you, Cloud—me and my girlfriend. Sound great, mhh..? We’re gonna live as family!”

Well, Cloud had no one now, still hope Tifa was survived somewhere; but Zack had no idea where she is. Can be said, he’s the only family left, no? But as Dad?

Nah, Zack really took all these roles, being a ‘single parent’ for his friend. He fed him, crushed the meal to be like a porridge so Cloud enabled to eat. He bathed him, also washed his clothes, and dried it on stones. He bespread him under his arm with seedy blanket when the sun goes down so the spike wouldn’t get cold. He told him a bed-like story—more about his babbling and never ending story actually– so the blond would have peaceful sleep although the Daddy was awake all night. He’d protect him, save him, and carry him home no matter what even if it had to cost his life.

“Haha, kidding!! You’d be our lovely brother, buddy. And sure, you gotta L O V E her, too!”

No one could predict how their run would be ended like; no one wishes for tragedy. But one thing for sure, Zack would always watch over his friend. And he’d leave in smile like an affectionate father who feels proud to see the son growing up stronger and surpassing him for good.

                          “Why is everyone calling me Mother lately?”                                            “I think they must be fond of you.”                                         “But this one is too little big to adopt.”
