you people don’t even watch any news outside of your leftist media, do you? the covid vaccines don’t work, the masks most people use don’t work. only the n95′s & kn95′s help. i’m not vaccinated & i don’t mask up & i’ve only ever gotten covid once. but do you know how many times my vaccinated family members have gotten covid SINCE vaccinating? at least 3 times, but most have gotten it more than that. my mother is immunocompromised & she survived covid. you guys are being lied to DAILY by cnn, msnbc, nyt, etc, & you STILL believe this shit in 2023? really? do you have your own brain cell or do you share with all of the other bootlickers?
I'm so sick of the lateral ableism from disabled people with working immune systems. I fucking despise hearing about other disabled people are completely disregarding covid precautions. you might get to forget about it like all the ableds did but I don't.
you don't get to align yourself with disability activism in any way if you're choosing not to mask, or choosing not to stay updated on vaccines, or choosing to go to giant events with thousands of people in attendance

Well, the episode hit all 4 points I was hoping it'd hit & it did it beautifully! & Ashley Johnson! My God. Words can't express my love for that woman. I'm still a bit irritated with how short the episode was & how much has been missed through the entirety of the show, but the finale was almost perfect. It'd have been completely perfect if they had the infected in the subway that Joel & Ellie needed to get through, though.
With that said, I felt the first half of the season was weak & didn't start getting better until episode 5. With the poor pacing, feeling like there wasn't enough time to develop Joel & Ellie's relationship, the lack of infected, & some other missed opportunities, I'd have to rate the show a 6/10. It could've been sooo much better than it was, but they did nail it with all of the major plot points that they put into the show. Phenomenal acting by both Pedro Pascal & Bella Ramsey. The set designs were amazing & the creature prosthetics (when they actually showed up) were spot on.

If the season finale doesn't have the giraffe scene, Joel slaughtering Fireflies to get to Ellie, carrying her out of the hospital, & the end with Ellie's "okay," then I will be disregarding the show as an acceptable adaptation of the game.

We are officially one episode away from the season finale & I have thoughts. This show has felt absolutely rushed. Some episodes never even made it to 50 minutes, so a whole hell of a lot has been cut out of the show that should've been added, including infected. I was supremely disappointed that Ellie never fought infected with David to help with that "trust" before he dropped the bomb on her that he knew who she was. For a story that's supposed to make it clear that humanity is basically no more due to Cordyceps, there's a shocking lack of infected through the entirety of the show.
As for episode 8... Overall, I loved it. The acting was phenomenal & I am SO happy they included the interrogation scene. & while I still would've loved to see Kaitlyn Dever in the role of Ellie, Bella blew it out of the water. I was honestly nervous that she wouldn't be able to pull this episode off, but she did & I'm happy about that. I'm both excited & nervous to see how they end the season & I can't wait to see Ashley Johnson in it.

Left Behind was a really good episode! One of my favorites in the whole show! I'm just really surprised that it was rated the worst episode by far in the show, though. I think a lot of people really didn't understand the point of that episode, but even game fans were disappointed by it. It just doesn't make sense because I felt it remained pretty faithful to the DLC. Imo, it was way better than episode 3. I loved last night's episode.

The farmhouse scene was pretty much fucking perfect! I was so skeptical throughout most of this show, but the farmhouse scene narrowly sold me. Now we see how Bella does with the David scenes. Most of the lines are the same, too. I'm fairly happy with this episode!

Episode 5 was definitely the best episode yet! I LOVED the scene with all the infected & the bloater. BUT! Yes, I came equipped with a criticism. The scene with Henry & Sam at the end didn't leave me as sad as it did in the game. Maybe I would've been more emotional had I never played the game, but the voice acting, Henry's broken voice as he tried to wrap his mind around what happened before taking that last shot? It was SO much more impactful in the game. It left me broken in the game. But in the show? Honestly, it was a shell of what they brought forth in that scene in the game.

Lmfao, I'm going to get so much shit for this, & I know some babies on here will give me "their 2 cents' & then immediately block me after because they can't handle shit, but here goes:
I've seen quite a few posts about it from toxic fanboys/girls & feel the need to address this. If you're upset by people who don't believe the show is a perfect adaptation of the game & feel the need to shame those people, you're a bad person. I have been on board with the show since it came out & have had many criticisms (yes, including the cast of these characters that I fell in love with all the way back in 2013), but I have been watching in hopes that it gets better (& I found ep 4 to be AMAZING, even though the execution of some scenes was p fucking terrible, let's be real). It's not perfect & it's never going to be. There are certain choices that were made for the show that are... questionable, to say the least. & the cast for some of these characters are also questionable. It's normal & healthy to be critical of something, especially if it's constructive. What's NOT healthy is telling people they're not allowed to feel a certain way & to "just go back to the game & leave the show alone" because they're not happy with how certain things have played out. But, being that this IS Tumblr after all, this really isn't a surprise to see shit like this. You're not special. Do better.
& btw, if you're going to respond to this just to block me immediately after, do me a favor & uh... don't respond at all. Just block & move on. 🥴

I know this is crazy, but I wasn't a huge fan of episode 3 of tlou. I'm not big on watching romances, & if I wanted to, I'd watch a romance movie. & I really miss the banter between Ellie & Bill, & Ellie stealing that gay porn mag from him to fuck with Joel with. I'm also not too impressed with Bella's Ellie. The writers made her too serious in the show. I know she has a couple scenes where she plays around, but it's not like Ellie in the game. Idgaf what anyone else says, Bella's Ellie & Ashley's Ellie are incomparable so far. We'll see how it goes in later episodes.

I guess my expectations were too high because I am very disappointed in that first episode of The Last of Us. Bella Ramsey & Anna Torv aren't convincing me as Ellie & Tess. They didn't show how badass Tess is AT ALL. I get they probably have to save some time, but the average play time on the game is 14 hours & this show is going to be quite a bit longer than that. As for Ellie, the only thing Bella has down is the cursing. It's not connecting for me at all. I'll watch episode 2, but I wasn't impressed by this episode at all.

Literally coming on here just to say Bella Ramsey is not Ellie Williams. All it took was a 2 minute trailer to convince me she is NOT Ellie. Literally cringed when she did the fake twitching, lmao.
