He originally came to London to attend LAMDA drama school and for 10 years he worked as a jobbing actor with many in-between jobs. Then came a steady job and he worked as a clown for twelve years. During this time he dabbled with music and writing. He came to art in the last few years. His preferred medium is oil on canvas. Husband and wife Ani and Andrew Abakumov create stirring vintage-style portraits and landscapes. Ani comes from a career in Art History.Andrew grew up passionate about programming. He eventually graduated from the prestigious Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology before working at a large Russian IT company. A chance encounter with black and white fiber art led them to question whether they could produce color portraits with just straight lines of string - something that had never been done before. "We realized that we needed to combine our efforts and talents to make our dream come true," says Andrew. He put all of his energy into developing a special algorithm for Ani to use as a blueprint for weaving their artwork. "Of course, we took risks, socially disapproved risks," says Ani. "Relatives turned their backs on us because they expected a couple to have a 'serious' career." In spite of this, Ani and Andrew continued to pursue their art, eventually becoming full-time artists. Today, they are known in Russia and across the world for complex and mesmerizing fiber art. When they are not creating, Ani and Andrew love walking in the forest near Moscow, breathing fresh air and enjoying the tranquility of nature. “Our complicated artistic journey started when we became acquainted with Petros Vrellis's black and white works. Bizarre forms fascinated us and provoked a desire to create something similar, only deeper, lively, colorful, honest. We asked ourselves: is it possible to make a colorful art object in the same manner? We create a unique algorithm, then I prepare the canvas by driving in nails.....after that, Ani pulls on threads for hours, days, weeks, and months - that is how the image gradually appears. The number of tones is made by a little number of colored treads - the color palette expands significantly because of numerous crossings and layering. It is interesting to know that it takes about 4 kilometers of thread to make a small round artwork. Large art usually takes 20 kilometers of thread.” . Born in Tehran in 1974, Ali Mahdavi is an artist whose plurality allows him to range from photographer, multimedia artist to film and artistic director. He lives and works in Paris. In 1981, he was forced to flee Iran with his family. In Paris, he decided to follow in interest in art which he studied at the famous Ecole Boulle . Attracted to the world of fashion, he joined the “Ecole Duperré”. In 1992, he is hired as a fashion designer by Thierry Mugler for the “pret à porter” and the “Couture” studio. In 1996 he is admitted into the Ecole Nationale supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris. From January to June 1998, he was an exchange student in the department of painting at the Royal College of Arts in London. Two years later he graduated from the “Beaux Arts” with the unanimous best honors “Summa Cum Laude” Ali Madhavi is 26 years old when he is spotted by fashion scouts, following an exhibition of his work at Galerie 213, as plastic artist and photographer, that expressed his interest in the worship of Beauty, his fascination for the human’s body and its alterations. From that point on, he starts shooting for prestigious magazines. Advertising campaigns for famous brands (photographs and videos) and the shooting of many fashion and movie stars naturally followed. . He consecutively became the Artistic Director of the ‘Crazy Horse Paris’ and directed the “Desire” revue, with choreographer Philippe Decouflé. In 2011 he won the Grand Prix du Centre du Luxe ... It is in the Art Deco style and depicts a male nude embracing a female nude who holds an apple. In the background are stylized skyscrapers. Lempicka was fond of repeating stories about the creation of Adam and Eve. The inspiration for this painting arose when a professional female model took a break to eat an apple. Lempicka asked her to hold the pose and started to sketch. She then invited a policeman who was making his rounds in the streets to pose for Adam. . ONLY A FEW NOW LEFT .
