so the thing about what might happen if jay got to read tgg (the book as if nick wrote it) is that thereâs 6 billion ways for it to go and theyâre all fucking funny. these are examples of things i think jay would say to nick, especially if natsby happened
1. âYou call me gorgeous three times in this book.â
2. âDo I really say old sport that much?â
3. âNick. I would say you complimented me more than once.â
4. âWere youâNick, were you trying to say âI love youâ?â
5. âWhat happened between you and Mckee?â
6. âI think you judge people a lot more than you think you do.â
7. âWhy are you talking about your cousinâs husband like this?â

Jordan Baker really is the woman ever. Sheâs an heiress. Sheâs a golf champion. She cheats at golf. Sheâs âincurably dishonest.â She canât stand not to be in control in any relationship sheâs in. Sheâs a horrible driver. Her only family is her aunt. Sheâs so incredibly cavalier about her dad dying. Sheâs a pawn in Gatsbyâs plan and she doesnât seem to care beyond thinking heâs crazy. She loves Daisy. She couldnât care less what happens to Daisy. She claims to have a fiancĂ© and the narrator canât decide whether sheâs lying. Sheâs in a situationship with said narrator. Literary critics have been calling her gay since the 1940s. Sheâs integral to the themes of the book. She doesnât matter to the plot at all, sheâs just there to look good and be a foil to Nick and to Daisy. Sheâs the only sane person in the whole book and sheâs definitely got something wrong with her. I wonder if sheâs free Saturday

Everyone makes fun of Romeo's final speech, but to be fair, he probably didn't take the time to prepare anything. "Thus with a kiss I die" isn't the most incredible line ever spoken, but if I were in his position, I would've just yelled "FUCK" and immediately shotgunned the poison

maurice is a downright vicious boxer in part due to the whirlpool of self-loathing and unsatisfied sexual desire he lives in. heâs known for beating his opponents up to a bloody pulp. one fellow called him the manliest youth he had ever seen.
