"Other people calling themselves femboys is offensive to me, personally, as a trans woman"
"Other people getting gay married is offensive to me, personally, as a Christian"
These two things come from the same mindset and need to be stamped out immediately
ACAB starts at home
y'all can stop sending me asks about whether i consider femboy a slur btw, this is stupid fucking discourse. just like any other label it is okay to use for yourself, be it as a gender non conforming guy, a non binary person or even a transfem, but just randomly applying it to other people is obviously shitty and can be done with derogatory intent. most use of the word, especially in queer spaces, such as on tumblr, is self describing or about people who self describe as such. you don't have to be comfortable with the term yourself, or with being called that, but that doesn't mean other people using it for themselves or referring to people who use it for themselves is somehow derogatory. we also don't have discourse about whether tomboy is a slur now do we?

To my trans siblings,
There’s a lot of noise out there about us, and most of it isn’t true.
You and I know that. Even the quislings among us do. But when the forces of hatred control the narrative, they can say whatever they want about us.
They can use mainstream media to tell everybody that being transgender is a crazy modern thing made up by freedom hating communists or confused kids all they want, but that’s not going to make it true.
My trans siblings, we are the culmination of a rich, glorious transgender tradition, in the Mediterranean at least, that spans more than ten thousand years.
We’re older than Rome.
Older than Greece.
Older than ancient Egypt.
Older than Persia and Babylon.
We’re older than Islam, older than Christianity, older than Judaism.
We predate the very foundation of Western civilization.
Before any of it, we were here.
If you’re new to transgender ancient history, this might come as a surprise, and that’s a shame.
Why haven't you heard any of these stories?
Because they're not being told - not in a way that explores their nuance, outside of academic journals and conferences.
At least, not until now.
We Have Always Existed is a video essay series that explores the histories we have about transgender people in classical antiquity – the ancient Mediterranean.
These are histories cisgender researchers have either briefly glossed over or ignored entirely.
In We Have Always Existed, you’ll discover:
·        The Enarei, the Scythian trans feminine priestesses who may have figured out an early form of HRT, 2500 years ago
·        Elagabalus, the (maybe) transgender Roman emperor
·        What the myths of Hermaphroditus can tell us about transgender and intersex people in the ancient world
·        The Gallae, the Roman trans feminine priestesses of the goddess Kybele, whose origins predate Christianity
·        And much, much more
What’s more, you’ll get a better understanding of your place in the human story, which goes back even further than we have history to read.
It might not change what’s happening today, and it might not change the minds of any committed transphobes who don’t seem to care about living in reality. But I hope you’ll walk away from this series feeling empowered.
My trans sibling, you and I are so much more than what the forces of hatred want you to be.
You’re beautiful.
You’re wonderful.
And you’re far more powerful than you realize.

I signed! If you're Canadian, you should too
I don't care what nationality you are. US, UK, French, German, anyone in Europe, please do me the grandest of favours and spread this around. Steal the link, make your own post, I don't care; just get it to the eyes of your viewers because if they're Canadian, I need your help.
This petition ends May 26th 2023:
What is this about?
"Whereas:
The world is becoming increasingly hostile to transgender and nonbinary individuals;
Transgender and nonbinary people's rights to live as themselves are being restricted and removed in many places;
This includes the so-called "Western democracies" which have historically been presumed safe;
More than a dozen American states have enacted or are considering legislation eliminating or criminalizing gender-affirming care; and
Canada has prided itself on being an inclusive, tolerant, and welcoming society for everyone regardless of gender identity or gender expression.
We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to extend to transgender and nonbinary people the right to claim asylum in Canada by reason of eliminationist laws in their home countries, whatever country that may be."
It's better to give people an exit plan, and just hope they won't need it, then to do nothing and assume they'll be fine. Help us keep making Canada a positive place for everyone. I hope you'll sign if you're Canadian, and if you're not, I hope you'll help us make some positivity by sharing this around.
(Edit: A bullet point in the petitions description has been removed from this post, but remains on the petition. It's removal is due to misinformation around the UK's Equality Act 2010 only providing protection for those seeking sexual reassignment surgery. And while the Equality Act 2010 does explicitly state this, the Equality and Human Rights Commission has released an Equality Act 2019 Code of Practice document that specifies all transgender people are protected under the protected characteristic of "gender reassignment" regardless of desire to undergo the specific surgery initially identified in the Equality Act 2010 document. There has been, as of this editation, no direct quote or statement of plans to remove these protections from discrimination to the public.
I'd also like to add that there do exist protections already for 2SLGBTQIA+ folk to seek asylum in Canada, and the MP who made this petition has apparently been made aware of this, however, due to certain restrictions on that act, Canada currently lists the US as a safe country for 2SLGBTQIA+ folk because as long as there is one safe place(state, province, or territory) in the country for queer folk, the ability to seek asylum is denied. This petition clearly states a need to make a more specific clarification regarding this and open up assylum if any discriminatory laws pop up at all within a country, no matter if it's regional laws, or country wide. Specifying this because there's been a reblog or two calling this petition pointless and because I'm already clarifying UK law misinformation, might as well tackle misinformation from my own country as well. ♡)

I'd pretend to be shocked, but we all knew this investigation was political theater meant to only grab headlines and reinforce the narrative to people who don't pay much attention to the news that Trans People Bad.
Like, the damage is already done. I find little comfort in knowing what I think most of us on the pro-trans already knew: medical professionals are extremely careful and follow the already very strict guidelines when providing care for the extremely small population of transgender children.
Because the narrative has been fully dictated by the anti-trans side, the idea that our medical care is some how experimental (when it's been around for almost a century in some cases), dangerous, or will cause massive regret (when trans affirming care has lower regret rates than knee and hip surgery).

Another M*tt W*lsh post
The most chilling thing about the M*tt W*lsh hack, to me, is an email between him & Cr*wder, where he said:
"There's certainly plenty of money to be made when you can get millions of hits online, and I'm a capitalist and I have a family, so I've decided to start getting serious about that."
Like
He doesn't even care
He doesn't care about trans people
He doesn't care about women's rights or whatever
He doesn't care about children
He doesn't care about any of the stuff he's staked his entire career on
He just cares about money
How anybody can see a monster like that becoming extremely wealthy and famous by espousing a hatred that he doesn't even really care about and will never see the effects of, and not walk away understanding that capitalism is an irredeemably evil system is beyond me.
He's doing it because our world was built in a way that allows him to use hatred to become incredibly wealthy.
Fuck Matt Walsh, but fuck the entire system that allowed him to do this

The purpose of right wing media is to tell people who've never experienced things how they work in the most frightening way possible. . Remember when conservatives were losing their mind over WOKE INDOCTRINATION ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES? The way they talked about it, they made it seem like there were armed guards at the gates forcing you to declare your pronouns or whatever. . How many of the people who actually believed that junk do you think have ever actually set foot on a college campus? . But it must be true because the fancy man on TV said it is! And the fancy man is my friend because he tells me what is true every day. . Keep this in mind as you listen to people talk. What are they talking about, and what direct experience do they have with it? . Sure, nobody can experience everything. But when you find someone speaking authoritatively on a subject they have no real experience on, ask them how they know. Eventually, the best answer you'll get is "a guy told me," or "just watch this video bro trust me" . And, fine. . But that doesn't make them an authority on the subject. . Us leftists are not immune to this either. When we're in a space where people more knowledgeable than us are talking, it's a great idea to spend some time listening, or asking clarifying questions to expand your knowledge. . It's the only way we can grow . Y'all, it's finally here! . We Have Always Existed V is now uploaded. It's about the gallae, the transgender devotees to the goddess Kybele. They came from the east, but eventually moved to Rome, where they became one of the most well documented groups of transgender people in the ancient Mediterranean world. . We’re going to take a closer look at the gallae, & the goddess Kybele to whom they were devoted. We’ll spend some time understanding the unusual history behind Kybele’s mythology, how important she was in Roman religion, how her very transgender priests behaved, & how the Romans treated them. . It's available currently for my Patreon patrons, but for the unwashed masses I'll schedule a proper premiere some time next week. . If you want early access to it, you gotta be a patron! It starts at just a buck a month and I'm so mega appreciative for your support. . Peep the link in my bio to become a patron. . . . . . #transbeauty #transwomen #transgirls #transgirlsrock #transgendergirl #transgenders #transgenderpride🌈 #transgenderfemale #transgenderwomen #transgenderawareness #transgendercommunity #transwriter #writersofig #writersofinstagram #writersden #queerlove #queerwomen #queerfemme #queergirl #questioninggender #lgbtaccount #lgbtq2s #queerwriters #transwomanofinstagram #transwoman #questioningmygender #transwriters #transgirlsarerealgirls #transmotivation https://www.instagram.com/p/CpAww_6udzR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

When it comes to movements working toward social change, it can be hard to suss out the bad actors from those who genuinely want to make things better. . After all, it seems like nobody is actually happy with the direction the world is headed - on that, at least, it seems like we can all agree. . In my experience, I've found that broadly speaking, there are three types of social movements. . The first are movements led by the ultra rich. Those can be dismissed outright. The ultra rich never have our best interests in mind. . There are movements that recognize the status quo, that are unhappy with it, that recognize the injustice built into it, and that work to reorient society in a way that creates a new, more just, status quo. . There are other movements that recognize the status quo, but they're not unhappy that it exists - they just don't like their place in it. . Does a movement seem to be motivated by justice or self interest? . There are shades of grey, of course, but the former is something I can back. The latter, not so much. . This One Weird Trick helps me parse through the noise to figure out what to believe - maybe it will help you too. . . . . . #transbeauty #transwomen #transgirls #transgirlsrock #transgendergirl #transgenders #transgenderpride🌈 #transgenderfemale #transgenderwomen #transgenderawareness #transgendercommunity #transwriter #writersofig #writersofinstagram #writersden #queerlove #queerwomen #queerfemme #queergirl #questioninggender #lgbtaccount #lgbtq2s #queerwriters #transwomanofinstagram #transwoman #questioningmygender #transwriters #transgirlsarerealgirls #transmotivation https://www.instagram.com/p/CoU710yOKME/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
