That time when Violet unknowingly (or maybe knowingly??) drew Ciel in the clutch of... something. Is that Seb's true form? 😲🤔 It's a Jabberwocky.
This was supposed to be in the next episode since it happened shortly after Clayton asked Ciel to be his fag.
ETA: That's a Jabberwocky and if anyone has any theory or know some article about how the poem is related to Kuro or why Violet has drawn that, please reply to this post because I'm interested in it. Thanks @justanothersnakeblog

I'm watching the English dub...
Why does Clayton sound like an old man??
A bit disappointed that Ciel doesn't have the dual voice (his inner/real voice & his 'good boy' voice).
Been a while since I last heard Tatum's voice. It's good to hear him! There's only one gripe that I have about Tatum's Sebastian. He's never said "Yes, my lord." And at the end of the episode, sure enough, they changed Sebastian's line to "Indeed, my lord." 😔

Ciel actually did grow taller.
Tumblr media
This was him after he came back from that place. Look at the size difference... Boy didn't even reach Seb's shoulders.
Tumblr media
And this one is him at Weston 3 years later.
And yet...
Tumblr media
In conclusion, Ciel's height is inconsistent... But since the size difference is very obvious most of the times, then for some reason, Weston Ciel is taller than the average Ciel.

I love that Nina must still be an ally of sorts.
I doubt she would make a top-quality clothing set for an anonymous customer on credit, so it stands to reason that she knew it was Sebastian putting in an order for O!Ciel, which would mean that asking for the items to be delivered directly to Lau's would have been a risky move were she not already on board. But even if she's seen the news and knows that O!Ciel isn't the real Earl Phantomhive, she also knows he isn't responsible for everything he's had pinned on him at the Sphere Music Hall.
Otherwise, why would he have enlisted her help to beak Sebastian in? Why would he have had her curate outfits for a second band in a competing venue?
Nina may not have ever met any of the 'Stars' for whom she supplied outfits at the Sphere, but something must have clicked - after all, if she has been clothing Undertaker's dolls then some of those outfits must have been a matching style to our young lord's. And with the exact same measurements.
Surely, Nina must at least suspect by now that, even if O!Ciel has been posing as his brother, R!Ciel has equally been the one to frame him for his supposed 'crimes'.

Some people really be acting like Sebastian dressing and undressing his master on the daily is just a normal and expected everyday part of his job as a servant to the aristocracy,
like buttons haven't historically been sewn onto the opposites sides of male and female clothing since they were first invented because maids would dress the wealthy women of the house but men would dress themselves.

Sebastian is expressing his love for Ciel through flowers
When looking back at all of Yana's previous artworks, where she depicts Sebastian and Ciel often in pictures with flowers, many have debated the significance of flower symbolism in Yana's pieces. While Yana has said that she enjoys playing with flower symbolism in Black Butler art, she never quite stated the reason behind that. It was not until a while ago when I found this information about the significance of flower language in the Victorian era that I understood how much Yana pays close attention to historical context:
"In the Victorian era, when expressing emotions was often considered inappropriate, the giving of flowers was a common way to convey feelings without speaking them aloud." (source).
this gives further meaning to all the flower symbolism Yana uses in her pieces. It's not merely an artistic choice, and it's not merely her liking flowers. It is part of the narrative. Back in the Victorian era, flower language was the most common way people expressed emotions because being open about emotions was improper, especially in high social classes.
which means that her flower drawings with Sebastian and Ciel have way more textual meaning with the flower language. It even gives it an explanation through the lens of the story, rather than her artistic choice. If given an explanation through the narrative, Sebastian may be gifting all those flowers to Ciel as a way to express something in particular. And if we remember correctly, he's gifted him yellow mimosas (they symbolize secret love), and of course, Yana's most recent artwork where Sebastian is giving Ciel a bright red rose in a cup of tea (Which symbolizes romantic love, lust, desire, passion). Perhaps Yana's flower symbolism is tied even more to the story per se because it's saying that the flowers are Sebastian's way of expressing his repressed feelings towards Ciel. This ties more into the theory that Sebastian's character development slowly ties into the fact that he cannot explain why all of a sudden he's falling in love with this mortal human.
Tumblr media
Here's the mimosa art, for a deeper look into it. Ciel is wearing the mimosas over his head, in something that might appear to be a hat. Who is the only person who dresses Ciel? Sebastian, of course. Sebastian made sure to delicately place those yellow mimosas over Ciel's head. He wanted to make sure Ciel received the flowers, if not the message.
Tumblr media
And a closer look into the new GFantasy cover. The position of the red rose takes significance because it's in a teacup, which means that Sebastian directly handed Ciel the rose, since he is the one that always makes Ciel his afternoon tea. He gave Ciel that rose because he wanted Ciel to notice.
Thus, the historical context takes on more significance when considering what could've been considered an "impropriety" and therefore not morally correct to declare out loud. Sebastian appears before Ciel with yellow mimosas and red roses, while trying to subtly convey the message that he is, indeed, in love with him.

I'm a bit disappointed that Ciel wasn't napping... But I guess at least he acknowledeged that he wasn't working alone, although I wonder if anyone even noticed it...
Tumblr media
We only see him in his butler uniform once for like 2 minutes, so it's good to see him looking like his usual self. Professor Michaelis is hot af, but this one is looking just as yummy, imo! 😻

Read here
Summary: Adrift in the Atlantic in a lifeboat after the sinking of the Campania, Sebastian submits to his injury at last, contemplating the fate of both himself and his master.
(Inspired by a piece of fan art.)
Rating: Teen | Words: 1078 | Pairing: (Implied) Sebaciel | Setting: Canon, Post-Campania Sinking
“Sebastian wondered if, perhaps, he was dying. He’d been wounded by death scythes before, but only to his periphery. Never a direct assault on his core, the focus of his life force, his ‘heart,’ to use human terms. Undertaker was clearly more powerful than his younger brethren; perhaps his scythe had a magic the others did not. Perhaps, like paper discarded in a fire, his wound would spread and burn and devour until nothing of his blackened soul remained.”

The theme of love in Black Butler
The irony of the Book of Murder side chapter is that Sebastian was portrayed as the "Ice King" which is an allegory to his supposed lack of emotion towards Ciel, that he only stays at his side and protects him because of the contract, and nothing more. The irony is that he no longer protects him just because of the contract. Sebastian has actually grown to care for, maybe even love, Ciel. But since he's a demon, he would deem those feelings impossible. He is supposedly just a "heartless beast", or so he thinks.
The theme of the "heart of ice" is also seen in the song "Hallucination" Sebastian sings to Ciel in the second musical, "My once frozen heart is now burning and melting as I close my eyes"(source). Sebastian addresses that those growing feelings are too silly for him to even think about. He is aware that his heart is melting for his master, but he always dismisses it, until it's "too foolish to whisper" and "too late to conceal". The story is more than just a corrupted soul obtaining his revenge. It's about a demon learning to love a human.

So, whew... What an episode that was!
And we actually got a hint about Derrick, which I had never noticed before.
Derrick was in Red House, but he wasn't just any student, he was Redmond's fag (not going to use the word 'drudge', deal with it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I believe he's talking about Derrick.
And Greenhill too, when he said that he has sworn not to use violence again. Well, he was the one who killed Derrick.
The P4's reaction towards Cole's betrayal is a very strong one because they've been there before.
I don't know why I never noticed this before... 😔

My live reaction while watching episode 3...
Why does McMillan look better without his glasses??
Soma's going to drive Maurice crazy...
I'm a bit disappointed that Ciel didn't take a nap when Seb was reassembling those rose notes.
The art room scene... If Greenhill and the rest hadn't arrived in time, would he call for Seb? Or would Seb come to his rescue? Guess we'll never know...
They changed the chibi string telephone scene!! I'm so upset!! 😭😡

These are just my inital thoughts. I've other things that I want to talk about in separate posts.
