Tips for artists currently struggling to get started drawing like me?

idk what to say other than you kinda just have to do it ^_^;; you got like thousands of bad drawings in you, might as well get them out now

if youve hit a wall when it comes to your art it can help to take a step back and pinpoint what exactly it is about your art thats frustrating you or discouraging you (colour work feeling lackluster? posing seeming stiff? linework looking dull?), and then from there you can pick something to focus on and work on improving. think of an artist you love who's really good at doing the specific thing youre struggling with and try and emulate what they do, might help break past a roadblock

other than that, studying from life and experimenting with other media is always great!!

Oh, that makes sense. I haven't used Photoshop in years either. What brushes have you been using lately (in both CSP and PS) That sketchy style you've been doing is so pleasing to look at

for CSP, ive been using a lot of pencil-y textured brushes lately. i like this one from this brush pack

i also use the artemus brush pack pretty often (i adjusted the settings of the brush dynamics to fit my tastes)

for colours, i use a buncha watercolour-esque brushes, you can find most of them under this post. (spongebrush can be found here)

for the shinigami doodles i used the also fairly well known RAZ brushpack which ive been using for years at this point

as for Photoshop i kinda just pick whatever, i dont use it to make full illustrations in my usual style, i just use it for classwork and doodles. this is a good brush pack for it tho

Do you still use Paint Tool SAI? The UI looks different, but I haven't used it in years.

hahaha no i havent used SAI since 2018! i use Clip Studio Paint at home and Photoshop at school

if youre referring to my newest post i doodled that in photoshop during class
