let's see. I interpreted this as an ask about how I setup my sim save in a way that engages me. Hopefully this is helpful!

Setting Up TS4 Gameplay

Revamp Sim Worlds

BRAVE THOSE LOADING SCREENS and leave your residential lot! (I promise it's worth it)

NEW LOTS - Each of my worlds have been renovated with lots I handpicked from the gallery - too much work? I recommend using a savefile! Here are some of my personal faves @ratboysims 1, @down-in-simsland 2, @folkling 3 & @sweetbeagaming 4.

RESIDENTIAL RENTAL - these lots help make the world feel more dense and lived in, plus condensing the local households to 1-2 lots leaves room for more non-residential lots to explore with your sims.

WORK AND SCHOOL - I recommend placing offices, schools. and daycare lots. These combined with a few mods (semi-active custom careers and Zerbu's go to school mod 2) and clubs are something I really enjoy.

Set Up Clubs

I really like @sojutrait's tutorial on how to use clubs to enhance your gameplay and is a MUST HAVE in my humble opinion. I usually have a family chore club, work clubs, neighborhood clubs, extended family clubs, etc... and it's so nice to click a button suddenly there are sims there making my game more lively.

To have more than 3 clubs per sim, I use this mod maintained by @kingzaceofsims.

I also use custom club activities so sims (MOSTLY) behave how I want them to. @srslysims has tutorial on how to make your own.

To be able to have club gatherings in vacation worlds I use this mod. It was helpful with sending my pixel kids to camp.

Set Up the Calendar

@aliennooboo made this AMAZING tutorial on setting up your sims calendar that I just adore. I find this helps me remember to do things with my sims and helps change up their day to day life.

Playing

ROTATIONAL GAMEPLAY - I find this keeps me engaged and prevents boredom. It keeps things fresh and allows me to explore different stories. Here is a great resource to get started!

GAMEPLAY MODS - I find adding various mods keeps my gameplay fresh and interesting. I recommend these creators (1, 2, 3, 4 & 5) in particular.

Screenies

POSES - As a gameplay person, I try to use poses sparingly. It disrupts the game for me but I find sometimes I can't convey what I want to without them, so I try to only use a few. This is what works for me, please do what works for you. Shout out to all the storytellers blogs, though, that keep me fed.

RESHADE or PSD files can add some fun color and effects to screenies. ONLY edit as much as you want to. I felt a lot of pressure to get better at this and I am finally finding the balance of how much and what kind of editing I actually like to do. I have collected reshades/gshades and resources here.

House Keeping

Keep back ups of your trayfiles, screenshots, households, lots, etc 'cause it's sims. Things break and go wrong.

Keep your CC and mods organized otherwise fixing your game is a hug pain.

Hello, thank you so much! I appreciate it dearly. Unfortunately none of my Sims are on the gallery as of now. Since most of them do rely a lot on custom content skin details, I feel like if I ever were to release them to the public, they'd come in a tumblr post alongside links to said cc. I might start making sims for the sole purpose of releasing them here though.

Meet Palmer!

It's time I introduced you guys to Palmer Bates, another character that's going to be a part of my upcoming save.

Palmer is Hot Headed, a Bro and a Nature Enthusiast. His temper quite literally is as short as his hair. He would move mountains to help his loved ones in their time of need, no matter the personal cost. He loves to love, to support, and to stand up for his friends, who are honestly like the family he's never had.

Palmer has been a traveling actor for years, chasing the dream of stardom, hoping for the big break. Destiny has brought him to Copperdale, though whether it's a stopover or just a chance for him to catch his breath, he couldn't say. He'd only know by experiencing the place, and hopefully make a name for himself there, at least for the foreseeable future.

Palmer is a geek when it comes to fishing! He loves to go on fishing trips to Granite Falls with his best mates. Speaking of...

Palmer and Mason. What a duo.

They had a bond deeper than mere blood ties, closer than even the most enduring friendships. They may not have known each other for years, but their connection was akin to brotherly love. They were partners in everything they did, and even if the rest of the world collapsed, they would still remain tight-knit. They are inseparable, in every sense of the word.

Meet Margaret!

As I made yesterday's house, I had a mental picture of the Sim that would inhabit it. So, I'd like to Introduce you to Margaret! Mason's grandmother (more on that in the future), as well as the town's infamous cat lady.

Fun fact about Margaret: Everyone seems to love her pancakes, especially her grandchildren. They always appreciate the special touch she puts into cooking a batch whenever they visit. It is a beloved tradition between them!

Introducing (づ ◕‿◕ )づ

The Garcia Brothers! This is a storyline I have been workshopping in my pea brain, in my spare time over the past couple of weeks. I've already introduced Zealand to some, but he also has a little brother.

As I weave their story, their mysterious past and dynamic pair will be explored in detail, when and if I decide to go through with sharing it with the world, which is looking very very likely. There's still a ton of worldbuilding to be done, but I have decided that I want to share some of the progress with you all.

As some of you may already know, I am a huge Life is Strange enthusiast. I always have been. My favorite installment of the franchise is the second. So, you might spot some similarities to the game's plotline, characters, and plot points in my work.

While I plan to stay loyal to the series, I'm also obviously aiming to keep things fresh and original.

I've been working on some worldbuilding, and this rough draft of a dingy little house is the result. While this is far from complete, the basic structure is in place.

As for the landscaping, it is still in the works. Coloring may also not be accurate, as I am colorblind and can't always tell if something isn't quite right.

Overall, this a work in progress but a decent start, so far! Here are some shots of the interior:

This house might not be in tip-top shape right now, but this is their new home for the foreseeable future. As Oscar started unpacking his belongings, the first thing he made sure to unpack was his video game console and all his games. Gotta keep busy and entertained during the move, you know?

Right now, it may be more bare-bones than Oscar and Zealand desire. But it's alright, considering the current situation. Having just moved in, there isn't a whole lot of cash for furniture - as the basics are more important. So, for the time being, this place will have to do!

Alright, let's move on to something you guys may be familiar with.

You know him, you love him.

Let me remind you all of Mason, one of the focal points of my story. As I have mentioned before, I tend to play loose with the plot as I go along, tweaking and changing things to suit my evolving vision.

I can't guarantee any level of consistency as I am known for taking liberties with how quickly I can change things up. That being said, don't worry. If he goes, everyone else will follow!

Totally almost forgot to mention, the story will be taking place in the beautiful town of Copperdale.

Thank you for reading and giving me this opportunity to lay down my thoughts and plans. For me, Tumblr is like a way to document all my ideas and visions.

As a reminder, this is all still a work in progress, and nothing is set in stone just yet. That said, I am feeling optimistic and confident about this story.

As I take things slow, I aim to connect with not only the Sims, but also the world and story they inhabit. There are so many more characters and locations to be created, so I feel like I've only scratched the surface.

Can't wait to share more with everyone as I continue to create this narrative!

Hii i'm Elise, im 22 and i've been on simblr before but i wanted to have a fresh start so i yoloed and deleted my account lol. i've been playing the sims for about 10 years now, its my comfort game.
