Book Review #3:

Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson
⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 to 4.5 out of 5)
Reading Time:
1/24/2024 - 1/25/2024
Notes:
I’ve read my share in murder mysteries and I always feel the need to share my thoughts on them whenever I finish. That being said, I think this book does a great job of following its plot. The concept of mimicking murders from famous murder mysteries has left me adding all of them that were mentioned in the book to my reading list. The narrator himself is unreliable, as he has just as many secrets and mysteries as the actual occurring killings. Nearly every chapter there is a new secret to be revealed, and this is a book that I used as an excuse to ignore all the responsibilities I had.
The way that Peter Swanson wrote this story was perfect for the plot, the characters, and the suspenseful mysteries presented in this book. I don’t enjoy the ending that much, but then again, with the way that the book was headed, I also couldn’t see it ending in any other way.
P.S - This book got me out of a reading slump, and I plan on getting it for a teacher of mine who just loves mysteries with all of his heart.

really recommend getting into reading, especially if you're reaching an age as a young adult where it seems like it'd be way harder to read for pleasure as opposed all the other methods of entertainment and various time sinks that become or have already been a large part of our lives. It doesn't matter if it's a novel, non-fiction, YA chapter books, fanfiction, manga, etc - it's pretty good to do. Even if you are learning a language or developing your literacy by reading books for young children, that's great too! The "level" you are at doesn't matter, as long as you are enjoying yourself and/or learning and growing, especially if you're doing so on your own terms

Book Review #2:

Verity by Colleen Hoover
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars out of 5)
Reading Time:
2/4/2024 - 2/5/2024
Notes:
So, I've read It Ends With Us and It Starts With Us, which are centered around romance. I have to say, for Colleen Hoover, she uses the suspension tones for this thriller extremely well. I 100% stayed up way later than I should have on a school night just to finish the book because I couldn't bear not having all of my questions answered. It felt like there were several small mini mysteries that all were part of the bigger picture in every single chapter, and I was never left unsatisfied. I recommend this one to anyone who gets a kick out of thrillers and doesn't mind the eerie setting that transports the readers into the story itself.
P.S - A close friend actually recommended this to me, and convinced me to get it despite the fact that I'm not a huge Collen Hoover fan. I'm always going to remain thankful to them, because this book was definitely worth it.

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 stars out of 5)
Reading Time:
4/17/2023 - 4/20/2023
Notes:
There were so many twists and turns! Several of which I didn't see coming, and even if I already knew about them ahead of time I was still surprised. It's a killer of a sequel, which can always be so hard to get right, but I thought it worked perfectly. I found myself reading it during class and pretty much everywhere else. After finishing it I immediately grabbed the third (and final) book off my shelf and began reading it as soon as possible. Definitely recommend this whole series to any fantasy action readers who don't mind gore and some cliffhangers!
P.S - Yes, I have completed the whole trilogy, but I thought I'd mention this one over the other two because of how good it is at keeping you at the edge of your seat :)
