There's something about realising that someone that really messed with you bad years ago hasn't changed and hasn't gotten their shit together. It's also realising that they're now probably doing the same to someone else and hoping that those other people are smarter than you and leave earlier because like you back then, they won't hear or see it now.
But it's also realising that you and all the others who came before you and come after you learn and leave. They always leave. The person who does the messing is only ever just a brief stop in the grand scheme of things. I know that the pain they cause is real and can be long-lasting and extremely damaging, but you've got this. You can make things better for you.
I wish every leaver all the best. You're strong. You got out. Now figure out how to never get into this situation again and keep rocking ass because YOU CAN !!

So - this is a bit different. I'm working on writing an opera together with @strangesaturday which is based off of an idea for a Star Trek TNG fan fiction by @maid-of-the-golden-deer. We're in the process of getting it staged in London and the lovely organisation Help Musicians has decided to support this project with a grant. I apologise profusely that I made people look at my face instead of wonderful good-omens-related filth hehe : ) BUT we're hoping to get you all involved and - if you're near London - come and see the premiere in September this year! I don't know why "queer opera" isn't a tag yet - we're working on it!
