I haven't read it yet. I'm avoiding to read it out of spite.

I wanna write this eventually but, I have a Bramblestar's Storm au in which the literal storm still happens, but instead of a stupid love triangle, it's about Bramblestar facing consequences for being a DF trainee in TNP.

The Clan is still divided on the OOTS trainees, and then when it's revealed that Bramblestar was an og trainee, all hell breaks loose. ThunderClan almost splits in half. And because of the physical storm going on, it almost destroys them. The pressure is immense. Some cats want Bramblestar forgiven, some don't trust him, and some hate him, because he saw firsthand what Tigerstar was like. He knew better than almost any DF trainee just how horrible Tigerstar had been. But he still trained with him.

So ThunderClan must try to reunite under the hurricane, while Bramblestar struggles to keep everyone together when so many simply don't trust him.

Common Clan Sayings

Don't let the burrs prick you on the way out- don't let the door hit you on the way out

Deaf and blind cats are super sensitive to vibrations, pet owners noting they can sense floorboards vibrate when people walk by, slams of doors, banging of pan lids together, etc. It'd be good to keep this in mind.

They'll probably feel a monster coming before their able-bodied friends see it, probably sense their clan mates paw steps, the rumbling of a river, etc.

Worried how a blind cat will battle? Well, they still have the ability to hear, smell, and feel. What about a deaf cat? Well they can still see, smell, and feel. And these senses are heightened.

It might be harder, especially in a large battle, where everything might get muddled, but I think a cat could still work it out.

A blind cat will probably have a decent grasp on where everyone might be, though the larger the battle the more muddled these senses might be. But, clans are pretty big on average, and by the time they're an apprentice I think your OC will be pretty good at separating a group of cats scents. Training in large groups where they're all fighting each other might help them in the thick of battle if you're still doubtful.

For how they'd attack, I believe using that smell to know where their enemy is will work. Using moves that keep them in close contact with their enemy will allow them to attack in the same area. If their enemy doges, I think they'd feel the vibration from the cat jumping to side or even stepping to the side. It'll cause a thump. They'll also know because their scent will have moved. There's probably a difference between "was just there" and "is right here" scent.

As for deaf cats, their sight will handle where their enemy is. Biggest concern might be ambush, but they might notice a smell, sound, or vibration behind them. Maybe they'll just need to practice different ways to get out of being trapped then their able-bodied peers.

Like a blind cat, they grew in a clan, and clans tend to be big. I don't doubt they've found a way to make sure their not jump scared by clan mates that are out of their eyesight, by smell, sound, or vibration.

Just remember, realism does not matter in a story where kitty god can strike a tree with lighting to kill a cat and make a bridge.

Other things disabled cats can do

Someone brought my attention to the odd implications of sending disabled cats to war so I decided to make some other roles (weirdly hard), but this could be used generally, if you want

Mediator (does there have to be only one? And why did no one ever come up with this before Leafstar? Stuck in tradition or something)

Camp Gaurd (watches the entrance and areas around camp)

Camp helper (does a bunch of things like building dens, babysitting kits, gathering herbs for the med, etc)

Nursery helper (watches kits, helps new moms, stuff like that)

Med-cat helper (helps the med-cat gather herbs, or brings them any when their healing, but doesn't do any healing them self and doesn't have any connection to StarClan. Kinda like when Brightheart helped out Cinderpelt for a while)

StarClan something (has a connection to StarClan and can speak to them, but doesn't do med-cat things.)
