An enemy that bombs and uses white phosphorus against civilians doesn't know nor practice what your broken moral compass describes as "peace". Freedom was proven throughout history not to be achieved through kneeling and asking the oppressor to kindly stop. Freedom needs to be taken by force. How many times do we have to point out that terfs don't hate men whatsoever? Like there's a reason every single one of them on social media is buddy buddy with people like spartan-warrior88 and godsfavoritetradwife.

They're right wing reactionaries who hate women they deem disposable - and trans women are at the top of that list. Why would you take the word of a fascist on their own ideology? Do you get that they have a vested interest in obscuring that?

If terfs thought trans women were men they'd be sucking up to them the way they do yk actual men, the reality is that trans women are not men even to terfs. But they are denied womanhood, and falling outside of that cissexual binary they're denied personhood and humanity entirely too.

It would make more sense to say that for terfs trans women occupy a third gender space, which is historically how a lot of trans women in culturally specific communities (eg Hijra, travestis) have been described despite many identifying with womanhood*. That's the reactionary part! Terfs are entirely opposed to trans women being recognised as women (which is social progress, which they oppose) and want to de-gender trans women into a third class of people who are beneath them

Terfs don't actually believe in a sexed body or gendered socialisation, they believe in a gender essence as an inherent, intangible part of a person that precedes biology

Wait quasi hallucinations are a symptom of OCD? 👁️👄👁️ not diagnosed but 99.9999% sure I've got it and that explains so much

I have OCD and with that comes quasi-hallucinations, and I grew up watching a ton of horror films so some of the worst of mine are the standard white skin/black hair demon girl type shit.

However, because a lot of them are based on horror film I have found comfort in doing things that “go against” horror films and being like “see? This could never happen.”

(It’s irrational. I know that. But shut up. This is how I cope.)

For example: I started hearing garbled whispering from beneath my table, so I started playing the muppets sound track. Because they would never play Movin’ Right Along when the protagonist is about to get attacked. That won’t happen. Disney, who owns the muppets, wouldn’t give them the rights.

And it fucking worked.

On mobile it's under visibility settings. On browser it's under blog settings. I opted out on browser and I had to do it for each side blog individually. I'm assuming it's the same on mobile.

Please be aware that the "opt-out" choice is just a way to try to appease people. But Tumblr has not been transparent about when has data been sold and shared with AI companies, and there are sources that confirm that data has already been shared before the toggle was even provided to users.

Also, it seems to include data they should not have been able to give under any circumstance, including that of deactivated blogs, private messages and conversations, stuff from private blogs, and so on.

Do not believe that "AI companies will honor the "opt-out request retroactively". Once they've got their hands on your data (and they have), they won't be "honoring" an opt-out option retroactively. There is no way to confirm or deny what data do they have: The fact they are completely opaque on what do they currently "own" and have, means that they can do whatever they want with it. How can you prove they have your data if they don't give everyone free access to see what they've stolen already?

So, yeah, opt out of data sharing, but be aware that this isn't stopping anyone from taking your data. They already have been taking it, before you were given that option. Go and go to Tumblr's Suppport and leave your Feedback on this (politely, but firmly- not everyone in the company is responsible for this.)

Finally: Opt out is not good under any circumstance. Deactivated people can't opt out. People who have lost their passwords can't opt out. People who can't access internet or computers can't opt out. People who had their content reposted can't opt out. Dead people can't opt out. When DeviantArt released their AI image generator, saying that it wasn't trained on people who didn't consent to it, it was proven it could easily replicate the styles of people who had passed away, as seen here. So, yeah. AI companies cannot be trusted to have any sort of respect for people's data and content, because this entire thing is just a data laundering scheme.

I came up with a new saying:

"You wouldn't bake a cat just because it jumped into the oven."

It means that just having a really, really good opportunity to do something awful is not an excuse to do it. That it isn't enough that you never go out of your way to do evil, you're also supposed to go out of your way to do the right thing, even in situations where the wrong thing to do would be extremely easy and profitable, and passively allowing it to happen would be easier than going out of your way to do better than that.
