Eun DanOh suffers from a heart disease, and when she experiences some short-term memory loss and seems as she can see the future, she confuses them as some of her syndromes. But they arenāt.
Little does she know theĀ futureĀ she thinks she sees is in fact the storyboard of the comic their whole life is. Not only that, she also discovers she is not the main character of the comic but an extra.
Eun DanOhās only purpose on the comic, as an extra, is to be the one who always defies Oh NamJoo to support Yeo JooDa. But when she learns that the author has planned her heart disease to be terminal, sheāll do anything to change it. Ā And it may involve falling in love with who she wants and not who the writer tells her to.

REVIEW
I watched the show while it was being aired and I DONāT KNOW HOW I SURVIVED NOT BEING ABLE TO WATCH IT ALL AT ONCE!
(from now on there will be spoilers)
Eun DanOh is the highlight of the whole drama. She is pure energy. Far from being that weak girl who needs a saviour and is crying all the time, she really will do anything to change her set-up. Moreover, as nobody seems to remember what actually happens between scenes whatsoever, she will start dancing and singing in the corridors, even mocking people and stamping a statue on the floor tearing it apart. She is energetic and charismatic, completely different from what the author portraits her.
THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS AND THOSE CHARACTERS YOU DIDNāT EVEN THOUGHT COULD GAIN SELF-AWEARNESS, DO. It enables the show to explore even more both worlds, and you can really relate to the characters trying to figure out who they really are.
As it is all the world of a comic, there are a lot of scenes when a sudden music or spotlight appears to add dramatism, which only those who know the truth can see, which makes the scene even more ridiculous.
There is a really beautiful friendship between Eun DanOh, Haru and Lee DoHwa. And at the last episodes, I really felt sorry for Baek Kyung and part of me wanted him to be with Eun DanOh.
The cast was soooo cool. I really liked their acting even though they are rookies. I previously watched Kim HyeYoon on SKY Castle and was really amazed at how different both characters are. She did a really good job on both dramas.
I have enjoyed this drama so much that I have started reading the Webtoon. I donāt know if there are any major changes on the plot but I am enjoying it so far.
do you know of any good anime/manga that features gay characters?
Hmmmmm I mean yes but it depends if you mean official canon explicit gay, or like lowkey creator confirmed gay but they canāt be explicit because of censorship laws gay, also if you mean gay men specifically or other kinds of queer people
Iām going to give you some and assume you mean gay men but if you want more other stuff send me another message
Cardcaptor Sakura - Sakuraās older brother is bi and his endgame relationship is with a boy named Yukito, Sakuraās eventual boyfriend also starts with a very explicit crush on Yukito
by extention - Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle - kind of an au of cardcaptor sakura that have those characters in it, but also feature two other men in an explicit relationship
Doukyuusei - movie about a highschool boy finding out his classmate is gay and developing feelings for him. they kiss explicitly so this is probably the firmest one on my list in terms of anime
Mo Dao Zu Shi - I only watched the anime which is unfinished and they havenāt gotten together yet but itās based on a manhwa/webcomic where they full on get married at the end so have at itĀ
Yuri on Ice - Iām sure you already know about this but if u donātā¦ there it is. basically a gay romcom about skating. they kiss but in a lowkey plausibly deniable way.
No.6 - the two main characterās relationship is kind of leftĀ āup to interpretationā but they also do explicitly kiss soĀ
Evangelion - main guy has a lot of female love interests but his only real relationship with any depth to it is with a boy and they do kiss in the mangaā¦ I forget whether they do or not in the anime
Tales of Zestiria - a video game but also they made an anime adaptation. Not explicit but the main characters Sorey and Mikleo are childhood friends and obviously in love, the creators have said that Sorey is MikleoāsĀ āone and onlyā and thatĀ āa female romance wouldnāt work for Soreyā so
Free! (the swimming anime) - ok I know but track with meā¦ this particular studio is the best Iāve ever seen tbh at making romances (either m/m, f/f, or m/f) where they never really actually kiss or say that theyāre together explicitly but the emotional depth that they all have is so much more developed than so many relationships I see where they do actually kiss, and like as someone whoās demiromantic these relationships mean a lot to me. of my favourite pairing, one of the writers said that he ācouldnāt write just the two of them together alone for too long, or something would happenā so
Banana Fish - disclaimer I have not watched this one because it does not end well for them and iām not about that, but the two main guys get into a relationship so itās up to you if you want to get into that
Rose of Versailles - this is gay if you read the main character as a trans man which I do and Iām right and everyone else is wrong
Star Driver - this anime sets up a love triangle between two boys and a girl but then at the end they all actually end up in a three-way canon poly relationship and the two boys love eachother as much as they love the girl so yeah
bonus: Magical Girl Ore - soā¦ā¦ this is about magical girls that turn into super buff men when they do their magical girl transformations and itās ridiculous and so technically itās a girl in love with another girl but they are both in the bodies of men so there u goĀ
Those are the confirmed gay ones that I know of excluding basically all of the yaoi and shonen-ai genre, which even though they might be more explicitly gay theyāre so chock full of unheathly and abusive relationships and also written for the specific enjoyment of straight women that I canāt stand them soā¦. yeah. I hope any of that is what youāre looking for! If you want more other stuff just let me know
ignore if you dont feel like answering, but do you have any recommendations for manga with either lgbt content or characters/stories that give off those vibes? i really love ur taste & reading ur commentary on stuff :3
Hi, Thank you iām honored by the compliment!! ^_^ Iām currently in the hunt for lgbt friendly mangas myself. This got long bc i wanted to include a small summary + content warnings, so iām going to put it in a read more.
First I would recommend what i reblog the most, like:
#1 obviously is Our Dreams At Dusk (cw self harm ideation & homophobic/transphobic discussions) beautiful, beautiful work of art, the epitome of manga, really. put it in the MOMA.
Boy Meets Maria (look up content warnings too! biggest one is the topic of csa & lgbt-phobia. but itās a happy ending, generally comical, has jungian meta, nothing explicit is shown, but csa is still a tough topic to go into, i went in thinking it was gonna be a fluffy shoujo š§) beautiful, beautiful art and metaphors. Author sadly passed away young during the pandemic. A great legacy to leave behind tbh.
Boys Run the Riot (coming of age story about a trans male MC and his friends. they riot through fashion. covers a lot of topics, itās kinda cringey but like, itās because the characters are all young doing young ppl mistakes.
cw: transphobia [no harsh bullying or hitting tho, is more like verbal inacceptance. itās not trans trauma porn or too heavy, is what iām saying!]
āIt is licensed in English by Kodansha USA, who hired an all-transgender localization team to edit and translate the mangaā. The author is a trans man himself, as well. )
I look forward to new chapters! The MC likes to throw his middle finger up a lot and heās so young & awkward things. It genuinely feels like theyāre highschoolers tbh.
In the Clear Moonlit Dusk (the author is sus to me bc of another manga, but hm, canon bi boy, a gnc girl who passes as a boy finally gets treated with interest. There are various ways the character can be interpreted.) i havenāt been able to finish it yet, but so far i would recommend it. Lovely art style.
Love me for Who I am (mostly a coming of age story about a cast of trans femmes, feminine men, and lesbians. very āuwuā, the art style seems kinda tailoring into uhh sus stuff, but the actual story is very chaste, sweet, with surprising depth? i liked the friendships, i feel like it would be a relieving introductory story for questioning teens tbh. itās very innocent! but with that art style, i wouldnāt trust anything else the author works on.
With that warning in mind, my favorite plot point was between the brother and sister ^_^ Also, a nonbinary MC!! so rare for a transfemme nb spotlight?? it made me realize how starved the world is of lighthearted transfemme stories š„ŗ
Princess Jellyfish
no content warnings, pretty popular. i personally interpret the love interest as a trans woman.
Very cute art style and fashion and romance etc. Very Gay too
āāāāāāāāāāāāāāāā
Also, I havenāt read these 100% but iāve been meaning to:
Wandering Son
Manly Appetites
After Hour
My Love Mix-Up!
Runaway with Me Girl
Sailor Moon
Ao no Flag
Bloom Into You
Bangou Stray Dogs (?? the gnc character design mostly lol)
Given
Alita: Battle Angel Gunnm Last Order (manga has canon trans man clone thatās important to the plot, heās so funny too.)
Black Butler (thereās been a lot of content warnings abt it idk if i ever will read it in its entirety, but i love Grelle & Doll & Finny)
Black Lagoon
Drhdr
>> I know theres a lot of lgbt webtoon/manhwas nowadays, but in general, the art styles & story pacing are hard for me to get into. Also they seem to be mostly about highschoolers, and like. Iām not that fascinated by that stage in life, I prefer more adult settings I could relate to.
these r the ones iāve managed to like so far! itās rlly a trial and error type of thing, i end up just skimming most of the time & forgetting titles. Sorry I donāt have more to give!!! Hope they help!! if i find more iāll add to this list in a reblog.
HII i see that you read some manhwas and i wanted to ask if u have any recs
i doo !! tho do be warned that 99% of the ones i mention are romance since thatās my cup of tea š§āāļøš§āāļøš§āāļø
1. omniscient readerās viewpoint - an apocalypse webtoon whereas a man named kim dokja, a reader who finished a novel with a lot of episodes, tries to survive his world thatās plunged to the premise of said novel with the help of his knowledge of the story and certain characters that he befriended as they face life-or-death situations/scenarios. (amazing plot, amazing characters, amazing everything. def a 100/10)
2. the first night with the duke - a romcom isekai webtoon whereas an average college student wakes up as an extra and resolves to enjoy the luxuries of her characterās fortune with no purpose on intervening the novel sheās stuck in, only to wake up next to none other than the male lead. (very stress free AND completed !! it currently has a spin-off thatās on-going. 20/10 for me !)
3. revolutionary princess eve / the princess imprints the traitor - a fantasy-reincarnation-romance manhwa whereas the seventh imperial princess, evenrose, wakes up eight years before the fall of her kingdom by the hands of homunculus and is determined to change the future. (ml is a w and the manhwa is pg-13 with suggestive themes, but overall its a 100/10 for me)
4. i will be the matriarch in this life - another fantasy-reincarnation-romance(ish) manhwa whereas florentia, an illegitimate child of the richest family in the empire, reincarnates as her child-self after her family has fallen and decides to become the matriarch in her current life. (first manhwa that made me sleep happily after reading it, itās def wholesome and sweet. the fl is a girlboss too so its a 1000/10 for me)
5. the way to protect the female leadās older brother - a fantasy-isekai-romance manhwa whereas fl becomes roxana agriche, the older sister of the sub-villain of the novel, and decides to save the female leadās older brother who was kidnapped by her family. (pg-13 as far as ik, not so wholesome but not too tragic either, has violence and blood, but the story is ššš so its a 10/10 for me)
6. father i donāt want to get married! - a fantasy-isekai-villainess-romance-comedy manhwa whereas fl wakes up as the villainess of a novel and tries to avoid her death flags by breaking up with the og ml. she then finds out that her father is going to pair her up with the crown prince ā aka the person she last saw before she killed herself in her previous life and is rumored to be a bad person ā causing her to try and find a way to not end up being with the crown prince. (very wholesome and funny, but thereās a lot of misunderstandings between fl and her father, but overall its a 20/10 for me)
7. death is the only ending for the villainess / villains are destined to die - a fantasy-isekai-villainess-romance manhwa whereas fl plays an otome game and suddenly woke up as the villainess, leading her to try and find a way to get out of there as she encounters various of male leads and obstacles along the way. (amazing plot line, amazing fl, and amazing drama, def a 20/10)
8. seasons of blossom - a modern-slice-of-life-highschool-romance au that has several different stories with each characters being related to seasons by names and focuses on their love lives and coming of age conflicts. (20/10 for me, i havent read season 2-3 yet but based on peopleās reactions, season 2 will prolly make u cry)
Controversies: Dazai wailing at the loss of the young detective woman was received with divided opinions regarding its fisheye-ness, was given 0.5 point.
1.) Harukawa talking about the designs is always a treat
This one's a personal favorite! Harukawa's response to Yosano's backstory/design. I think it's pretty interesting to hear her analysis on Yosano's current personality i think
also the part abt chuuya and kouyou is sooo interesting too bc A. favorite character and B. underacknowledged character:::::
abt Kouyou:
AHH so THAT's why Kouyou's literally the most colorful bright looking character in the mafia. Something about despite saying she's part of the "dark" through and through, she's still innately very good at heart, subconsciously showing it through her clothes.
** also i appreciate that Asagiri clarifies that it's because of her respect for Mori that Kouyou stays
about skk:
(honestly i don't get why Asagiri says that the only thing that Dazai and Chuuya have in common is that they are both smart bc a lot of what he wrote in the the LNs show a lot more similarities than differences. but okkkk)
another about chuuya:
im so happy that Harukawa-sensei said straight up he's typically very thoughtful and doesn't actually have anger issues.
