Joy gone, I’m sad for Alex again. Because every time that man tries to talk about his emotions, someone changes the topic and that annoys me. Like he was so obviously eager to talk about his worries after Bright but literally everyone just ignored him to talk about music instead, both in the corridor and the garage. When he’s upset about Willie, Luke and Reggie sympathise for maybe ten seconds then turn around and talk about j*ke instead.

The only conversation change that actually works is at the museum. Willie sincerely asks about his anxiety, listens, and clearly understands what he talks about. When they change topics, it’s not him essentially going ‘ignore that, focus on this instead’, they’re literally telling him about one of their coping mechanisms and trying to see if it would work for him.

I need more scenes like that. I need Alex’s friends to consistently take his anxiety seriously instead of prioritising music, because we see that it had a genuine negative impact on his mental health. Like have Julie notice when he’s getting stressed and send the others away so they can talk without getting distracted. Have Luke and Reggie learn the signs of him getting anxious so they can go get someone else if he needs help that they can’t provide. Alex’s mental health issues shouldn’t be ignored in favour of a hobby

The Boys™ have kind of gotten used to getting into the shower after alex, turning it on, being temporarily burned alive, and then frantically turning the heat down. the vast clouds of steam which emerge with alex as he opens the door are now normality in the molina garage. apart from that time that julie screamed because the fire alarm went off. it wasn't even smoke. it was steam. the fire alarm is stupid.

however, willie, my sweet beloved, has not gotten used to this yet.
