How to incorporate yarn crafts into your cottage magic journey!
If you are a witch that likes to journal or keep a book of shadows, you can use this to help plan out your crafts. You can write down what you want to make, your goals, the colors, and what hooks you are using. This allows you to focus your intentions, your goals, and even color magic into the craft! Crocheting and knitting can also be calming and possibly meditative! It can help you get ready for a different spell as well, if you are not using the yarn for the spell itself!
This can also be a form of knot magic, and you can focus protection or any other outcome as you work and make your stitches/knots in the yarn/string! You are most likely zoning out anyway while working, so thinking about your intentions should be easy to do in the moment. If knot (:3) then you can write your intentions in a journal to help you!
You can also burn incense or a candle while you work to help calm yourself, breathe life into the craft, and help set your intentions.
Did you know that you can make a familiar out of yarn? They obviously behave differently from a living familiar but they are still used for protection and companionship!
Yarn can also be used for jinxing and hexing. You can weave your intentions into the yarn and then burn it at the end of the project. Please make sure you are being careful and practicing proper fire safety!
You can also make offerings with the objects you’ve made. Remember, deities often prefer handmade offerings than store bought offerings!

Cottage Magic
Cottage Magic
As most of you know, it is springtime in the northern hemisphere. Bees are starting to come out of hibernation, the birds are coming home, flowers are blooming everywhere. This is a time of refreshment, cleaning, learning new skills for the year ahead of us. Over the next month (the month of April), I will be writing about cottage craft. This is the theme for this spring, to see if it calls to anyone.
What is cottage craft?
Cottage witchcraft is the path of homemaking. It is a large blanket terms that covers cleaning magic, cooking magic, gardening magic, animal magic, and most hobby magic. It can be used to describe any type of magic that you use to better your home and your loved ones. On the more extreme sides, it can also cover chaos magic, sex magic, and death magic. Cottage witches are also known as House Witches or Hearth Witches. Many witches that follow this path land in the “Right Hand Path” or the “Middle Path” when talking about their practice. Many focus on protection and healing, abundance (food, money, love, etc.), and personal goals. These goals can focus from expanding your path to getting very good at a new hobby.
How does one begin to work in the Cottage Path?
It is an easy and beginner friendly path to follow. If you already cook or clean, you are already heading in the right direction. If you know how to cook eggs and sweep a kitchen, you are ready to be a cottage witch.
Okay, but it has to be harder than that? What are some subcategories of cottage witches?
Tea witchcraft: One who heals and teaches through tea and tea leaves. Typically can read tea leaves and other divination forms that involve tea or coffee! They have a knack for knowing what teas will cure what ailments!
Green witchcraft: One who practices through the wild and domesticated plants. Very good at working in a garden or identifying plants in the world.
Flower Witches: Good at flower language, color magic, and identification of flowers on the fly.
Insect Witches: Very good at working with insects like spiders and bees. They know what plants deter and bring in insects to help their gardens and areas.
Kitchen Witchcraft: Very good at making homemade, filling meals and insisting you bring some home with you. They are knowledgeable in spices and the different ways to make baked goods to align with your desires. A hungry witch is a clumsy witch, after all.
Self-Care Witchcraft: sweet smelling lotions, hair oils, rose petals and a journal. That is all you need to be a self care witch. Someone who values their own health and mental status, who knows their limits and what to do to make themselves happy.
Cosmic Witchcraft: A witch that knows what fruits and vegetables are in season by the moon and the sun. They know just when things are ready to be eaten.
Wait, wait, Carter! Those categories are all over the place!
Yeah, and it’s not even a completed list! What I’m trying to tell you is that Cottage magic and witchcraft is so unique and large, that almost every path can connect to cottage magic. Why is that? Probably because your house is where you do most of your magic, and it’s the place where you probably feel the most comfortable. Hence, why this is a very nice and easy craft to get into, with no rules and even less requirements!

How to keep your beliefs in your wedding when you have super Christian guests.
158 days until the wedding:
White or pink candles symbolize love and protection! Try to add these candles to your wedding in some way. Black also is good for protection if  you are having a darker themed wedding. My colors are Blue (calm), Purple (loyalty), and Green (wealth).
You dont have to wear a veil, if you are the bride. However, it is to protect you from negativity during the ceremony. Parents in law that don’t like you? Their bad vibes wont get through that veil.
Try handfasting, as a physical sign of being tied to one another! Many people do this tradition, so it is not inherently pagan and could be glanced over.
Light candles together. No one will know if the candle is for Hera, Freyja, Frigg, Aphrodite, Juno, Venus, etc. They will just see you do something together, to jump start the next chapter in your life.
Burn a bayleaf with your intention on it to attract longevity, wealth, and happiness.
Bless the area before the guest sit down
Bring the elements into your wedding. Air can be windchimes or balloons, fire can be with the candles or a bonfire, water can be with shells or fountains, and earth can just be not wearing shoes or live plants as center pieces
Do your own tarot reading before the wedding, to see the outcome of the day or the relationship.
Add intentions to your vows.

what do you do with your brigid doll/brigid cross after imbolc?
im going to be honest with you, i dont know. I've never made one so I've never had to figure out what to do with them.
I assume you can keep her to keep welcoming in warmth but I definitely wouldn't just throw her away. Do whatever feels right.

Hey! What exactly are the holidays or whatever you celebrate? Is holiday a correct term? Can you explain them too? Is Yule one..? Or Bethane? Both?
Order of the Pagan Holidays that **I** Celebrate: Imbolc: Feburary 2nd. The beginning of the end of winter. Days get a little longer, but where I live, this is where we typically get snow.
Ostara: March 20th or 21st, depending on the year. The officially beginning of springtime.
Beltane: April 30th. When you can start to plant your summer crops so they are ready by autumn. Also known as Mayday.
Litha: June 20th or 21st, depending on the year. This is the summer solstice, in which we thank the earth for accepting our crops.
Lammas or Lughnasdh: August 1. This is the start of the fall harvest, or first harvest.
Mabon: Sepetember 20th to the 23rd. Celebrating the beginning of autumn.
Samhain: October 31st. The beginning of winter, the night of the spirits.
Yule: December 19 to the 23rd. The shortest day of the year, the winter solstice.
They can be called esbats, the wheel of the year, holidays, anything you want.
See HERE why we don't call them sabbats.
Also, depending on the pantheon you work with or the religion you are apart of, you may celebrate something different altogether! That's okay too, just do what you think is right (as long as it does not involve a closed religion!)

so...astrology. that's the study of the stars for predictions or something, right? how exactly is everything determined? for example..people always say 'ah, they're probably a gemini.' are they just known traits for people of certain signs and they need to be memorized or..?
I know next to nothing about astrology, but I like to guess peoples zodiacs based on sterotypes of said sign.
Like if someone is acting particularly headstrong, I'd be like "How Aries of you."
It's only a bonus when they go "How'd you know I was an Aries?"
It's just for funsies, at least for me!

Hi! Which deity is your favorite to work with and why? How did you connect?
I am legally not allowed to pick a favorite coughtapollocough.
We connected in a dark time of my life, where I was constantly anxious and sick. He is just so caring and understanding of me, and I genuinely enjoy working with him, even if it is just over mundane things.
he's the best

When/how did you know you wanted to be a witch?
When I was 14 or 15.
It is a personal experience, but I wanted to be free and this is what I turned to.
Now I have a server, friends, and clients that I love helping!

Can you practice black/dark magic with dragons? Heard, that they are the middle of demons and angels. And if they are participating in protection spells, couldn´t they also be participating in hexes?
There is no such thing as black or dark magic! if you mean left hand path, then I guess? Dragons don't just help people, they always want something in return. They definitely don't want to participate in our practices, and they don't really participate in either unless you have a stong bond with them and you ask them directly for help.
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking!

Hey there, I am looking on resurce material on dragon magic and came upon your post about it. I saw that asian dragons are closed. Do you have more information on this? I´d love to educate myself!
Hey there!
My information comes from native practitioners of Asian based religions (Buddhism, Hinduism, etc.)
Many (if not all) aspects of Asian religions are closed, and mix this with the fact that ALL dragons are extremely reclusive, it is safe to say that even if these dragons were open, they most likely wouldn't work with anyone outside of their respective areas.
A rule I live by is "If white people have tried to erase that culture or they fetishize it, the likelihood of it being closed is very high."
This also extends to creatures of that religion.
Thank you for the ask! Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Spell Candles: The Basics
What will be in this writing?
What are spell candles?
Colors and meanings.
How to use spell candles.
Warnings and ratings.
What are spell candles?
Spell candles are, in simple terms, candles that are used to focus intentions while performing a spell. This can be seen in a multitude of ways, from using the candles directly or simply having them lit in the background to help focus your intentions while you work on the spell at hand. You can be of any experience level to learn how to use candles, so I rate them “beginner friendly.”
Colors and meanings.
Candle colors have the same meanings as normal colors do, only now that it is in candle form, you burn your intention either next to or directly onto your spell. It is a more involved version of color magic, in my honest opinion. However, scents are not brought into the mix. This may be uncommon or bordering chaos magic, but I personally love using scented wax in my spells. The color/scent combination really holds my intentions together, keeping the spell active for a longer period of time. An example of this may be a white candle that smells like coconuts. White is commonly connected with protections, while coconut has the same connection. It is almost like being double protected, haha!
How to use spell candles.
There technically is no right or wrong way to use the candles, it all depends on what you are trying to do in the long run. If you just want a lingering intention on your house, simply lighting the candle may just be enough! Or if you are doing a spell jar and need a little extra push, using a corresponding colored wax to seal the jar with may help!
Warnings and Ratings.
The first warning is to always be mindful and watch your flame. Please do not set anything on fire that should not be set on fire. If you must burn a paper or something, please do it outside in a controlled enviroment.
Please be mindful of animals in the house. Animals have stronger noses then us and certain smells may irritate them. Please look into what scents pets can and can’t be around, and preferable, do not let them into the room when you are working with smoke.
Please open a window if you are working with smoke.
Now onto the ratings.
Level: beginner!
Usefulness: 4/5
Personal rating and reasoning: 2/5 because I have cats and cannot burn candles in my house currently. Not for me (at the moment.)
