I theorize the reason "bottoms" appear more prevalent than "tops" on these types of spaces is that it is simply easier to be funny about being a bottom than about being a top without sounding like a sex offender
"uuuuu 🥺 pls cock me aaaaaaaa *runs into wall like Wile E Coyote running into his own tunnel painting*" easy as shit comedy
"I want to put my DICK in someone" whoa dude calm down, take it easy

i don't know what aphobe needs to hear this but... no one is forcing you to use the split-attraction model.
the split-attraction model is nothing but a tool. it's a way for some people to better explain their attraction. if you don't like/want/need it, then great! just don't use it.
for a lot of aspec people, though, it can help describe complicated feelings around attraction considering how much of society is amatonormative/allonormative.
(oh, and btw... aro/ace people are not the only people who can use the split-attraction model! anyone can use it!)

You're still entitled to your privacy when you come out as ace. Coming out doesn't mean you have to answer people's personal questions about your sexuality.

Just saw someone with “use whatever pronouns you use for yourself for me” in bio. I honestly never considered the depth the pronoun metagame could have, we’ve barely scratched the surface with this shit

Note
aroace culture is doubting your aro identity bc these feelings you have for your zucchini could be what asexuals experience as romantic and you will never know for sure if you’re actually aro.
(meanwhile, scared that if these feelings are romantic, my aro zucchini might be able to tell and not want to be with me anymore)
.

Hypothetical: say your partner spent several grand of your joint money on something they wanted without asking you and tried to hide the purchase from you, how would feel?
Angry and upset, right? It’s wrong of them to do, I think most of us can agree on that
What if they discussed the purchase with you first before and you both agreed on the purchase, are you still mad? Is your partner still in the wrong? Of course not, it was something you agreed upon
This is the same reason why polyamory isn’t cheating
