I’ve been taking a bit of a break from tumblr these last few months, for a number of reasons (my kingdom for the rest of the missing xkit features!), but I am trying to show my face around here a little more—not least because I have a backlog of fics that have gone up for several exchanges over the past couple of weeks. I’ll post them individually since they’re not all in the same fandom, and I see I’ve been tagged in a few things I should catch up on as well! Stay tuned.

i’ve given up on seeming super normal today. please know, i have only done this in service of enabling @dunderklumpen and myself in our pursuit to understand spoken danish ... kind of.

but this is an article/interview about/with nukâka coster-waldau.

it is extremely interesting and very candid about her experiences growing up in greenland. she talks very honestly about the struggle of maintaining cultural identity when you’re from a country that suffered greatly from colonialization. and about moving to denmark and the reaction people have to greenlandic people that can speak danish vs those that cannot, and the struggle of attempting to raise her kids bilingual (and receiving zero support from the schools in denmark). 

and then, as if that wasn’t all a lot to take in. and as if i weren’t already a little bowled over by the total frankness of the article, they get on the topic of hers and ncw’s relationship and it’s so ...open? candid? something like that. it is not sugar-coated in terms of getting married super quick and the problems inherent with that choice and then having to choose over and over to stay married because it’s not always an easy thing. 

but let’s be real, i want everyone to read this so that they can also get to this particular line: De første gange, vi sov sammen, vågnede jeg om natten ved, at han strøg mig over ryggen, mens han sov. Det blev jeg meget forelsket i. Which is roughly translated to: The first time we slept together, I woke up at night knowing he was stroking my back while he slept. I fell in love with it very much.

now, i’ll go back to seeming like a person that didn’t spend a lot of time on danish news site today.

Why do some fans want Nik to leave his wife so badly? She seems like a lowkey, down-to-earth lady, also super beautiful

IDK that's crazy. They've been together for so long. Maybe people should be applauding that because relationships in Hollyweird don't tend to last and especially relationships where the man and woman are the same age which is the case with Nikolaj and Nukaka. I think people should just stay out of their personal relationship and leave her alone.
