[Laptop repairs were successfully carried out, to some extent anyway! The bad news is that the fan needs replacing but the good news is that it's only £6 tops. Bad news again, it's going to be a wanky job due to how the internal system is set up with the heatsink being connected to the fan. But the good news is that the laptop will be fine for the foreseeable future, but more bad news is that the chainsaw noises will happen on and off, so. So there's that.]

Belated munday post but the little one is settling in nicely! He's taken to watching me when he thinks I'm not looking at him, horrible camera quality as the angle is wonky but the tank looks better/is more sizable than it appears from the side!

So... you remember me talking about maybe getting a snake the other day? Well, guess who just arrived home.

He's a wee bootstring right now and the photo doesn't really do him justice because he's always on the move but he's an Anerythristic corn snake (confirmed male) and the first thing he did when the owner put him in my hand was nom my finger very gently. I was so tempted to get the Palmetto BUT didn't know they had a genetic default known as bug-eyed. 😔 Very gorgeous snake and the owner showed me the father but in the end, my heart chose the anery (or rather, his mouth chose me!) Not quite the ball python I was intending to get but since it's been so long since I've had a snake, I'll hold onto this wee danger noodle for now to make sure I can take care of him! Managed a quick journey home but now he's sitting inside a nice warm cave, chilling. When he's settled in a bit, I'm going to spoil the fuck out of him with some little plants and so on but for now I'll let him destress. Haven't picked a name yet but... maybe Rorschach? Because he'll grow up to become black and white. :D

It's Munday! Here's some pics of me at Loch Ness from last week, finally got my hair cut but the wind did me no justice lmfao. Also been obsessed with playing around on picrew lately to relax so there's some picrew versions of me (ngl I would change the devil wings for magpie wings and horns for antlers but otherwise yeee). I've included links to these picrews under cut, as well as a shot of the jambalaya I got to help prepare and had. It's not massively authentic given I can't eat seafood, but we did follow the recipe for seafood-free jambalaya we'd found as closely as possible. Goodness it was tasty.

Feeling a bit bummed, I had a whole week off but spent most of it doing everything else but writing! Feeling better physically now covid is getting it's ass kicked, thought I was better the other day but was still wiped out.
