RAIN, we want more Cap shark. Maybe Sweet and Cakes taking hi out in disguise for that first time and him not being able to shut up?
Right-o! Shark!Cap’n my beloved! His ability to talk needlessly is one of my favorite qualities!
Title: Talk'n Words: 1,451
The town wasn’t nearly as lively as Cap’n had assumed Land Dweller habitats to be. It also wasn’t as terrifying as all his elders had told him. Though, maybe that was his own fault for believing in stories for the young. Hooks didn’t hang from the sky, nets weren’t hung on every house, and no one seemed to be carrying any blatantly obvious knives ready to pounce on him and–
“Cap!”
He skidded to a halt in the newest contraption his pod had gifted him. Hitting the side of a curb, he nearly fell forward until a long arm reached and caught him.
“Careful~” K_K said, in his cheerful, melodic tone.
Sweet looked around the area in worry, his body following his head as he turned in circles. “No one saw anything, right?”
K_K hummed, swiveling around, and shook his head. “Nope~ !”
Its partner let out a relieved breath. “Good, that was too close.” They turned to Cap’n, hands on their hips. “Cap! You have to be more careful! What if someone had seen your…” His voice dropped, “tail?” he pointed.
Cap’n shrugged and responded with a burble of words Sweet couldn’t comprehend, but knew was dismissing his worries.
“This is serious, Cap! We don’t want you to get hurt or caught.” They had to add the mandatory ‘we’ even though K_K was more than confident in their roommate’s abilities. It was impossible to ignore the anxiety in the speaker's tone. Each word was spoken a slight decibel higher than the last.
K_K placed a hand on Sweet’s shoulder. “He’s okay, Sweetie~” They tried to lessen the tensity in their partner’s body. “No one saw anything,” they gave the slight squeeze. “But if you keep yelling people’ll stare~”
Straightening, Sweet looked around the street to see a few passerby’s already glancing their way. A hint of heat reached up to the speaker's neck before he hurriedly dragged the other two further down the street. It wasn’t his fault. He was just worried! He’d never forgive himself if something happened to Cap’n. He glanced down at the mer and repressed a heavy sigh. They wanted him safe, that was all.
After a few more moments, Sweet stopped pushing Cap’n. The mer was now between K_K and Sweet, each only a few steps behind or in front.
He indeed found Sweet’s overbearing demeanor fun to poke at. He didn’t know the language they spoke, but they had such animated body language that it made up for the verbal impasse. It was exceedingly fun to tease them. Seeing their reactions always made him feel particularly warm, especially in the more unexpected moments of closeness. When he’d say something low and flirty and their face would heat up from tone alone. Their chest would make a loud, deep bu-bump that stuck in his memory like honey.
K_K was more relaxed and often played along with his taunts or gestures. Even returning a few. Cap’n was never the most affectionate of sharks. He often avoided those more physical gestures. But it was different with K_K and to some extent Sweet. The taller always cuddled up with him on the couch. It’d splay its limbs out and tap its leg, offering room for him to climb up. Complying, Cap’n would lay down between its legs. Its arms would loosely wrap around his waist, its hands resting just above his tail, entwined, caging him in. And it was strangely comforting. To be held so gently, yet be embraced just enough to feel the pressure of its presence. It always felt warm. It always felt like home.
He was affectionate now. Only with his pod. He could trust them.
As the three continued to stroll down the street, Cap’n couldn’t help his fascination with Land Dweller objects. His eyes darted from shop to shop, catching onto a hat shop. He pulled on K_K’s arm and pointed, begging to go inside.
Against Sweet’s better judgment, the three entered. Almost immediately, the speaker regretted the decision. Cap’n gasped loudly at all the hats and clothes in the store. He turned to Sweet and K_K, splurting out a string of fast, incomprehensible words.
“Cap!” Sweet threw a hand over his mouth. “Shush,” they whispered. Holding a finger in the center of their face. “You have to be quiet.” They looked around the store to see a few odd glances their way. They really couldn’t afford for Cap to be talkative in a shop this small. Anyone could hear him and start asking questions.
Rolling his eyes, Cap’n moved away from the two to explore by himself. Sweet was being too uptight. Their fretting was a real buzzkill. What was so bad about wanting to communicate with them? He liked talking, he liked hearing them talk back, even if he had no idea what they were saying. Their voice was nice, though. Both of them had lovely voices, no wonder they were a band.
He skimmed the assortment of Land Dweller items. He’d been so excited to peruse, but without the same excitement from the others, it all felt dull. Maybe he accidentally upset Sweet and that’s why they were so stressed right now? He glanced around the small store, he could hear their idle humming not far from him.
“There you are~ !” Cap’n jumped and turned to see K_K peeking behind a clothes rack. “I found something you’re gonna like~” he said in a sing-songy tone.
The mer narrowed his eyes at the green one as they approached with their hands hidden behind their back.
“I think this will look amazing on you~” They plopped a hat on Cap’n’s head. “Hmm,” they leaned back, “wait.” They twisted the brim around. “There, perfect~” they turned him to face a mirror. “And Sweet found this~” he handed him a blue hoodie. “Let’s go try it on.”
A few moments in the changing room resulted in the new and improved look for the mer. His shades worked well with the new fit, which made his smile grow when he looked at himself in the mirror.
K_K’s smile was as big as he’d ever seen. “Go show Sweet! Go show Sweet!” it bounced. It didn’t even try to hold back the blush on it’s face. The CD Player could feel it’s chest begin to beat as Cap’n went to find the last member of the trio. It couldn’t be stopped. Cap’n looked so cool! It knew Sweet would like the outfit just as much.
Finding Sweet wasn’t hard, all Cap’n had to do was follow the low hums from the front of the store.
He opened his mouth, trying to call Sweet’s name as best he could. Instead, what came out was an odd hissing noise with a guttaral growl that only vaguely sounded like the speaker’s name. Sweet yelped at the sound, jumping back. “Gosh Cap, you really scared me! You know you shouldn’t talk in here. Someone might– oh.” Upon seeing his newest fit, Sweet was momentarily stunned. The hat and hoodie combo complemented him well. “Woah, you look,” he hesitated, calculating his next words. “You look nice,” they settled.
The mer recognized the tone as a compliment. They also saw Sweet’s thumbs tapping against each other. A compliment and nervous? A devious smirk spread to his lips. He could work with that.
Since they didn’t want him talking, this would be the best way to show his gratitude. Cap’n brought their hand to his lips, kissing their knuckles. It was a small thank you for the compliment.
Everything stilled at that moment for the poor speaker. His chest couldn’t even make a sound before his face was engulfed in a heatwave.
As they flushed, Cap’n smirked. He’d learned only a few of the speaker's weaknesses. This one seemed to be the most effective.
It made them quake internally. Their silence yielded more answers than any words could. Then their chest began to make a low, humming. It grew into a rhythmic beat. Their sound sputtered and skipped. They could only try to move, but a gentle one-eyed glance from the mer rendered their body and mind useless.
Held captive by a small gesture and a kind eye, Sweet had to force himself to close his eye. Once free from that half-lidded gaze, he yanked his hand away.
“C– Cap! Wh– What was that?!” They held their hand to their chest. “Y– You– !”
Cap’n smirked as he rested his head on his arms. He stared at the speaker as he fumbled with his words. Drumming his fingers, he found himself zoning out. Their words sounded like distant, mumbled echoes.
If this was the payoff for being quiet, maybe he should be quiet more often?

Ah may I request a fluffy shot of Sweet inspecting devil!Cakes’ horns in our modern AU
Maybe the two be having coffee and Sweet just got curious and wants to take a closer look, Cakes summoning them and Sweet holding dem wicked points ever so gently aueueueueeue
As soon as I saw that doodle u did w/ the two I was like “oh yeah, Sweet definitely wants to hold those horns” So this is so, so funny to me cuz I already have this scenario in my head
Title: Devil’s Triumph Words: 1,295
Cakes sipped idly on the mug in his hand. A breakfast confection sat on a saucer by his elbow.
He wasn’t a morning person, but he enjoyed being the first one awake. He liked seeing the other two sleepy-eyed and groggy as they joined him in the kitchen. Sweet would stumble in an hour or so before Cap’n, barely conscious until they had coffee in their system.
They were so cute.
Speaking of the speaker, he was sitting across from Cakes at the small kitchen table. Already done with their coffee, they sat quietly. However, they couldn’t hide their nervous glances his direction or the bouncing leg under the table. Sweet always got antsy when he was nervous. It was something Cakes found joy in noticing. Finding all his small little signs of worry or happiness, keeping the information close to use. His mortal was so cute.
Cakes giggled to itself, “something wrong~ ?” Sweet looked up sharply, “n– no,” they shook their head, eye darting.
Cakes smiled and took another sip of its coffee, “so why do you keep looking at me?” He grinned innocently, “like what you see~ ?”
Sweet’s face erupted into a blush, “I– I was just– I was thinking, uhm…”
Cakes waited patiently for them to collect themselves, another sip.
“C– Can I… touch your horns?”
That certainly wasn’t what Cakes had been expecting.
“Excuse you?”
“O– Only if it’s okay! I– I don’t know if it’s like, a… no-no thing where you come from. Like, I don’t want to be disrespectful– Uh, just forget I said anything.” Sweet pushed away from the table, hurriedly standing up. “I need to go to the shop early anyway, so bye–”
A hand grabbed his wrist, turning him around.
“That’s not what I meant, silly~” Cakes’ hold loosened. “I just wanted to make sure I heard you right.” Sweet tapped a foot behind himself, “... so, it’s okay?” “Mhmm~ !” he responded cheerfully.
Sweet took a hesitant step forward.
“Why so nervous~ ?” The devil laughed, bringing them closer. To that, Sweet just looked down, trying to hide the painted blush appearing on their face. “Why do you want to feel them~ ?” Cakes pushed, slowly massaging their hand with his thumbs.
“I… I just… they look cool and I– I think they’re… pretty,” Sweet admitted. “They fit you well, you look pretty with them out.”
Cakes beamed at the confession, his horns already materializing. “Really? You think they’re pretty?” He felt the underside of one of the horns. He’d had them called intimidating, scary, even vile before, but never pretty.
Sweet’s expression said it all, his eye immediately gravitated to the pair of horns. Staring at them with amazement, wonder. If Cakes wasn’t so in control of his own emotions he’d be blushing. No mortal’s ever looked at his horns and been taken aback like this before.
Stuck in awe, Sweet could only stare. A light aura outlined its horns, electricity bounced back and forth from the tips. They were so pretty. The light bouncing off of them, the clean polish– did Cakes even have to maintain them? Or were they perfect on their own?
“Go on,” Cakes smiled, “you can touch them.”
“This... doesn't hurt you, right?” Sweet asked, barely above a whisper.
Cakes gently shook his head, humming his response. He closed his eyes and bowed for the smaller one to reach.
Sweet was hesitant, despite Cakes’ willingness. Their eye looked down at their face, eyes closed, a gentle smile.
“I can feel you staring~”
Sweet looked back up at the horns, heat growing up his neck. His hands slowly approached the horns, so close and–
“Ouch!”
Sweet jumped back at Cakes’ outcry.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry– What’d I do? I’m–”
Cakes was laughing, a hand on his forehead, “sorry~ ! Sorry~ ! You were taking so long!” He chuckled. “Awe~ What’s with that face? I’m sorry, c’mere,” he outstretched his hands at a very embarrassed Sweet.
“I thought I hurt you!” He said as he walked back to it. “Oh, Sweetie~” Cakes soothed, picking them up and placing them in their lap. “You couldn’t hurt me if you tried.”
Sweet wasn’t sure if that was meant to make him feel better or even more anxious. He decided to roll his eyes, “whatever, lean down.”
Cakes grinned at the order and did as told without any word.
This time, Sweet wasn’t as hesitant. Their hands gently clasped around the base of the horns. Slowly traveling up the length. The horns were perfectly smooth, slight electricity danced from the tips around Sweet’s hands. “Woah,” they looked at their hand, it was like... feeling fuzzy water.
Cakes felt his spine shudder with each gentle touch. It was kind of silly. His horns weren't fragile enough for a mortal’s hands to break. He kept his eyes closed, wanting to focus on the pressure building in his chest.
It wasn't vulgar, but this was intimate.
His horns weren’t just for decoration, they were connected to his magic. Having Sweet’s hand so close to something so personal, so intwined in what made him, him, was a feeling he couldn’t describe.
“Do you have to file them?” Sweet asked. “No,” Cakes responded immediately, entranced.
“They feel kind of… fuzzy with the electricity. I like it.” “Thanks.”
“Should I stop?” “Please, don’t.”
Cakes had never had this happen before. It felt so nice to have a section of his body be treated gently. With care and hesitancy, even if it didn’t need to be. It was relaxing, he could almost fall asleep like this. Sweet in his lap, their hands gently ushering him to a peaceful rest. Even if he didn’t need to rest, this made him want to. He wanted to be held and to hold.
Body grew slack, head teetering.
“Cakes?” “Hmm?”
When Sweet pulled his hands away the pressure in Cakes’ chest released. It became just a little easier to breathe. Blinking, he was suddenly more cognizant of his position. It sat up, ignoring the minor confusion in Sweet’s eye. “So, what’d you think~ ?” Cakes smiled, desparate to hide how he’d melted in the hands of a mortal.
“The electricity didn’t even hurt. How’d you do that?” Cakes hummed, his head still a little cloudy, “they only hurt when I need them to.”
Sweet gulped, “can we… do this again sometime?” Cakes grinned, “you can touch my horns anytime you want.”
“Are you sure?” Sweet fretted. “I really don’t to make you uncomfortable or anything.” Cakes took their hand to his lips, lightly peppering a kiss to their knuckles. “You can touch them, Sweetie~, anytime~” its voice fell off as he moved their hands to cup his face, leaning into their touch.
Sweet gulped, “I– I uh, okay, well, I need to go to the shop, so, uhm… thanks, again.” They crawled off his lap, pushing his hoodie up to cover the blush on his cheeks. “Th– Thanks,” they repeated, “bye.”
Cakes watched as they practically ran out the door. At that moment, the angel appeared.
“Did I miss him?” Cap’n yawned. “Yeah,” Cakes replied.
The sound of the coffee maker sounded behind him.
“Cap,” Cakes began. “Hmm?” “Is it supposed to feel like this?”
Cap’n paused, glancing over his shoulder at the devil. He could see in his eyes what he was talking about.
“What’s it feel like?” He asked, turning back to the waiting cup of coffee.
It took Cakes a few moments to form the words, “it’s a good kind of terrifying,” he chuffed. Cap’n nodded, taking a seat across, “yeah, it feels like that.”
He pushed another cup of coffee across the table, “extra cream,” he winked. Cakes nodded, taking the cup in hand.
‘A good kind of terrifying’ Yeah, that was a good way to describe it.

what are each of the trio's favorite pass times for when they're alone or together?
Sweet:
* Surprisingly loves lo-fi music. Will lay in bed and close their eye just listening to chill beats to relax to.
* Also enjoys taking the turntable out for a spin! (get the pun). And just looking at the city from up above. For once he's not so small.
Cap’n:
* Really likes cooking! He keeps it a secret though and will make a big show of complaining as he grabs pans and ingredients.
* Enjoys going on solo walks around the Feilds. If nothing else it clears his head from all the stress of the day.
Cakes:
* Loves art! They really like those coloring books (adult or not, I don't think K_K would care about those things. It just wants to color, it doesn't care what).
* Baking! Cakes likes baking, though they often don't use the measurements in the recipe and prefer to eyeball it.
Together:
* They have movie nights! They put on a movie they spent three hours deciding on and within the first twenty minutes they’re all asleep on the couch.
* Baking (again). This time it's more fun though because they all get to work on things together! When it's just K_K in the kitchen they tend to spend hours decorating a cupcake to make sure it's the cutest and best cupcake before eating it immediately after. This time they’re all making bagels and just having fun.
* Parallel Play! (If you don't know what that is it's essentially just doing separate activities in the same room). Sweet might be tinkering with something small, Cakes is coloring, and Cap’s listening to music. They’re all doing something by themselves, but enjoying the company of the the others.

It's not a problem! I asked Charlie and she said it was fine! There's a few different designs of mer!cap, but I'm assuming you mean the one Charlie drew. So, I'm using her designs for this fic! (Oceanrune belongs to her btw -> @charliedzilla)
Title: Sea-ing Words: 888
When Cap’n was young, he used to chase the sunrays that broke through the water. He’d swim around plunging into the sand after them. His nursery mates all made fun of him for being so easily distracted. Wasn’t his fault, though. Sharks don’t have good eyesight. Those lines of light were all he could see most of the time. But as an adult, he had grown accustomed to the blur in his vision. At least he could easily avoid incoming obstacles. Though, he wished he knew what his pod’s faces looked like. It was like seeing the world through an egg casing, he could make out the shapes, he knew the colors, but that was all.
Yellow eyes, green, rectangular, K_K. Yellow eyes, gray with a hint of red near the tail, cubed, Sweet.
He had their outlines memorized. Sweet’s stubby legs and pincher-claws were hard to not recognize. K_K’s tail was a gorgeous green, impossible to miss, unlike the gray on his.
Those two… they were his everything.
The three had met under extreme conditions. Cap’n caught in a net, arms restricted, sharp teeth unable to bite through the nylon. K_K appeared in the distance, helped him get out, took him in. A few days later, the two found Sweet stuck in a lobster trap. Cap’n bit through the wood, freeing their newest friend.
Or so they thought. It took weeks of Sweet getting caught and released until they finally decided that being in a pod would be safer.
One thing led to another, A soft word there, a gentle touch here. Loud bickering, silly stories. Singing songs, making music. The three formed their bond quickly. It was impossible to withhold.
Cap’n couldn’t imagine his life without them.
The two were still sleeping when he woke up. Wrapped in K_K’s tail, held tightly in the middle under Sweet’s claws and K_K’s arms, safe. He nuzzled further into their arms, feeling their hold tighten. Sweet’s eye furrowed at the slight movement, his legs held onto Cap’n’s side, subconsciously begging him to stay. Even K_K’s arms tensed, desperate to not to lose the one in his arms. Of course, they had no reason to worry. He wasn’t going anywhere.
Why would he leave them?
Being in their arms meant nothing could get him. No land-dwellers, no nets, no traps. There was nothing better than being cacooned in their embrace.
The sunrays shined onto their faces an hour later. Sweet was the first to stir, waking up the others who yawned and stretched. Cap’n’s eyes met his, a smile formed as he nudged their heads together. A small kiss to his forehead and Cap’n was melting into their touch. A tap on his shoulder and another kiss from his other partner.
What did he do to deserve so much affection? So much happiness? And how could he protect it?
With the day started, the three began their travel further out to the deeper part of the sea. It wasn’t safe to be so close to shore. Maybe they could find a nice cave or abandoned ship to take refuge in?
It didn’t matter to Cap’n. He’d be happy as long as he was with them.
Though, he did wish K_K would carry him sometimes when they travled. Because of Sweet’s lack of a tail, he didn’t swim very well. He could scuttle scross the ground quickly, but he’d never be able to keep up. So, Sweet was often carried some of the distance when they moved their nest.
They were nearly to a resting spot when they heard a distant rumbling. K_K quickly grabbed Cap’n’s wrist, pulling him to toward the bottom as the trio hid.
A boat drove overhead, loud music played in a language they didn’t know. They could hear whoops and hollers from above. Something was attached at the end of the boat, a line, then something trailed behind. A land-dweller clung onto something circular, screaming with… joy? Fear? They didn’t know.
Land-dwellers were odd. They’d never understand them.
Something fell into the water, the three quickly ducked behind a rock as the item floated from the surface. Sweet was the first to look above the rock and see the mysterious item. Curiosity drove him from their hiding spot and into the open. K_K followed, seeing Sweet’s lack of fear and adopting it. Cap’n frowned, still not sure the danger was gone, but refusing to stay behind. He followed behind K_K. Sweet carefully picked up the item from the sand, cautious to not crack the thin material between his claw.
They showed the pair the discovery.
Two black circles, light reflected on the front.
The three all took to inspecting the odd looking item. Cap’n held it in his hands, looking at them then flipping them over. Something caught his eye. When he looked through them… the world shifted, it looked so clearer. He held it to his face, blinking he looked to his pod.
Their faces. He’d never seen their faces before. Never this clear.
He’d known they were gorgeous, but he didn’t think they could be… that gorgeous. Seeing the yellow in their eyes, he realized they were so much brighter than he had thought. He blinked hard as dark, black tears formed and began to float in the water.
He could finally see them.

Gasp- reqs are open :DD I’m a sucker for the devil!cakes au- maybe some fluff with cakes not entirely aware of mortal things? Like “Ayo what is that- a convenience store? Doesn’t seem to be that convenient to me”
Sorry this took so long to get to! Consider this a crack fic lmao. They just have a bit of fun in a grocery store. Causing havoc is what entities like these are made for! [I asked the AU creators for permission, so we're good to go]!
Title: Low Profile Words: 1,354
K_K stretched his arms over his head as the trio entered the supermarket. “Why’re we here again~?” it asked with a yawn. “This place is so boring~” it whined.
The smallest of the trio stopped ahead of them. “We’re here,” Sweet turned. “Because you two ate all my food,” he pointed at K_K and Cap’n. “And as punishment, you two are helping me shop for groceries. And you’re going to carry them all in for me, too,” he replied.
K_K hummed, “I don’t see why I have to do all that~” they pretended to pout. “Cap’s the one who ate all your favorite candy~” They sent a devious glance in the angel’s direction.
If he had less control, that comment would’ve prompted the feathers in his wings to puff at the accusation. “You offered them to me! I didn’t know!” Cap’n jumped between the two and clasped his hands in Sweet’s. “I was framed!” He turned and pointed his finger at K_K, “I should’ve known better than to trust a de–”
“Keep your voice down!” Sweet pulled the angel back by his headphones. “You’re supposed to be keeping a low profile, right?”
“Yeah, Cap~” K_K smirked, “we’re supposed to keep a low profile~” it teased.
“You, too, K_K,” Sweet eyed. “Don’t cause any trouble.” “Trouble? Me?” it feigned offence. “K_K, I’m serious.”
Seeing the look in their eye, K_K’s facade fell. “Okay~” he smiled, “no silly business from me~” Though, as honestly as he had meant it, a devil would do what a devil was meant to. K_K couldn’t fight his nature.
The store was fairly large, big enough to get lost in. The trio had been in the store twenty minutes and had only managed to find a few items. What was supposed to be a short trip was quickly diverging into something else. The worst part however, was that Sweet was found this was less a punishment for them, and more one for him. Shopping with Cap’n and K_K was worse than shopping with kids. K_K was constantly putting extra junk in the cart which only encouraged Cap’n to start arguing. To retaliate against the argument, K_K would reply with teasing, prompting the angel to repress a blush. It seemed no matter what the two did, their differences always led to a rather awkward tension.
“(We’ve been here forever),” Sweet groaned. “(I don’t know if I can take their bickering much longer).” Most of the time it was endearing to hear the two like this. However, it’d been a long day and it was quickly becoming grating.
K_K smirked and elbowed Cap’n, “convenience store? What’s so convenient about it?” “Snrk!” Cap’n turned, leaning a hand on K_K’s arm for support as he held back a laugh. Sweet turned, “are you guys helping or not?” he tapped his foot.
“Course we are, Sweetie~” K_K beamed. It casually reached above the speaker and grabbed the box he’d been struggling to reach. It handed them the item with an innocent smile plastered on its face.
Sweet narrowed his eye but placed the box in the cart. “Okay… well, if we want to get out of here soon we should probably split up,” they concluded. “Do you think you two can handle getting the snack stuff?”
“Of course~!”
“I’d rather stay with you,” Cap’n crossed his arms. Sweet shrugged, “up to you, I guess. But I’d hate to see what K_K could get up to on its own.”
Cap’n slumped, they made a fair point. The smile on the devil’s lips seemed to agree too.
“C’mon, Captain~” K_K smirked, “don’t be a slowpoke~” Groaning, the angel followed behind.
Angels weren’t supposed to be this confused about devils. Yet, this one always left him guessing. It wasn’t fair that he, an angel, could fall prey to a devil so easily. He had to keep his guard up whether he wanted to or not. For Sweet’s sake, of course. Not his own. He needed to be strong to make sure Sweet wouldn’t be corrupted by some horned, winged, pretty, demonic entity.
“(Pretty)?” he shook his head. That was not his thought. It couldn’t be. He would never think something so absurd about a devil. He was better than that.
An arm wrapped around his waist as the two walked down the snack aisle. “Wanna have some fun~?” K_K teased.
Cap’n jumped from their hold, desperately trying to ignore the heat emerging on his cheeks. “What? No! We’re just supposed to get what we need and leave–”
“But where’s the fun in that~?” K_K huffed. “These mortal places can be so boring~ Don’t you want to do something fun~?”
“With you? No.” Cap’n stepped further away. “You always get me in trouble.”
K_K rolled their eyes and pulled the angel back to their side. Hands on his shoulders, they whispered, “don’t you angels know how to have fun~? I bet Sweet likes fun~”
Cap’n knew it was a trap. He knew it was a ploy, but he couldn’t help himself. He gave into the temptation. “Fine, what did you want to do? If it’s not too bad I might join.”
Without explaining, the devil picked him up and set him in the cart they had grabbed. “I’ll skate down the aisles and you grab the food, simple~”
All of Cap’n’s eyes narrowed, even the angelic ones over his shoulder. He knew there had to be a catch, something K_K was hiding behind that innocent expression. Against his better judgement, he trusted the smile. A poor choice on his end. No sooner had they started did Cap’n realize the speed they were starting to go. They flew down the aisles, Cap’n barely had time to grab the items needed. It would be impossible is not for the disembodied eyes that helped locate everything faster.
K_K laughed as he kicked off the ground, making the cart go faster and faster. Using an eye to look ahead, Cap’’n warned of incoming customers. Even when the others in the store shouted, K_K remained smiling and laughing. They looked at the short angel in the cart with a grin. This was an angel that knew how to have some fun! He just needed the right push sometimes.
“K_K! You’re gonna get Sweet in trouble!” Cap’n braced himself as they swung around into another aisle.
“No, I won’t~ No one will even–” “Wait! K_K, stop the–”
A pyramid of soda bottles had been set up in the center of an aisle. The duo were going too fast to slow down. They barely had time to brace themselves before crashing into the pyramid. Soda bottles rained down upon them like an avalanche.
K_K popped up amongst the bottles, only disoriented for a second. They crawled a short distance to see Cap’n still lying on the ground. For a moment they assumed something was wrong. Angels could take quite a bit of damage, a simple crash shouldn’t have hurt him. They could see his chest rise and fall quickly. It was confused and moved even closer. As they got closer they realized he was laughing. He had a hand over his mouth, trying to stop himself, but it was useless. A smile appeared on the devil’s face. “(There he is).”
Cap’n had only just sat up when they heard hissing coming from around them.
“Oh no,” they both said in unison.
The soda bottles fizzled and exploded throughout the aisle. Two liter bottles went flying over the shelves into other aisles. The two were drenched in soda, yet somehow still found themselves laughing at the shouts from other customers. Anytime K_K heard a shriek, they couldn’t help but throw their head back and laugh. Even Cap’n found some enjoyment from the scene. He hadn’t done something so absurd in such a long time, if ever.
Sweet appeared before them, immediately trying to pull them from the ground. “Guys, c’mon! What did you do?!” It took some doing, but Sweet managed to get the two out of the store without being stopped. They laughed all the way out the door.
“Ugh, what happened to keeping a low profile?!”

Yeah, yeah!!!
Title: Spotlight Words: 608
Look at me.
He tossed the shaker in the air and turned, catching it behind his back.
Look. Look.
The speaker's eyes were on him alone. He could do anything with that attention. It was so natural to overindulge in their gaze. When they looked at him it felt like a spotlight was shining on him. He loved that spotlight. He loved seeing that spotlight flicker with excitement at his movements.
He could do anything.
Sweet believed that, themself. Cakes' movements were so fluid, so precise. Skilled, obvious years of talent showed through in each quick trick. They didn't see the glances the bartender made at them, making sure they were still watching. Too starstruck to do anything but watch the shaker jump through the air. It was amazing how Cakes could turn a solid object into water. It was like watching a tasque jump through a hoop. Cakes seemed to know where the shaker was moving just as one might know how to move a limb.
Cakes popped the top open and poured the contents into Sweet's glass. He knew what was coming next, he waited for it.
"Woah..." Sweet beamed, "that was so cool!"
Their praise was a nightly high.
"Hmm," Cakes hummed as it showered in admiration. It was not usually one to show off quite like that. It took time away from paying customers. But for Sweet, he could afford it.
"Let me know if you need it topped off~" It said with a wink.
Meanwhile, on the far end of the busy building, a set of eyes watched the duo. Cap'n wasn't as good with a shaker as Cakes was, but he could balance a tray of glasses like he'd been born to do it.
"Excuse me?"
He straightened, blinking. "Oh, sorry, sorry," he smiled at the table. "Your orders?"
He didn't use to get so distracted. Even when it was just him and Cakes. Yet, now he seemed to be getting side-tracked each time he went up front. He lingered by the counter longer than he needed to. He'd skate up to Sweet or Cakes' side and strike up conversations until one of them reminded him that he did, indeed, have a job to do. Cap'n's body ran on instinct when he was at work. Diligent, if not a tad cocky, but he always got his job done.
"I'll be right back with your drinks," he smiled politely. Immediately he skated back to the counter, purposefully pretending to not see a customer's hand waving him down.
"Sweet, Cakes," he slowed to a leisurely roll. He placed his head in his hand as he leaned against the counter. "Miss me?" he winked.
Cakes smiled, his shoulders moving up and down slightly. "Of course, we missed you~"
"Just like your tables," Sweet teased.
Cap'n rolled his eyes. One little table wouldn't get him fired. "I'm dropping off an order, thank you. I'll get them on my way back." He handed Cakes a slip of paper, "two of the house specials and three Cyber Call-Outs."
"Wow~!" Cakes smiled, "they really want to party, don't they?" "It's not called a Call-Out for nothing."
Cap'n strummed his fingers against the counter as Cakes prepared to make the drinks. He couldn't resist glancing at the smallest of the three. Sweet not-so-subtly watched Cakes over the brim of their cup. He could see their pupil grow as he stared in wonder.
Look at me.
He was. He looked at them every chance he got.
Look. Look.
His smile softened. His eyelids fell, lost in the scene before him. Cakes, lost in the spotlight; Sweet's light emanating the whole room.

YESS!! LET'S GOO!!! Gah, I love Mark'n content
Title: Fit the Fit Words: 686
The shop was all but empty except for the boombox and tall speaker at the front desk. The others had gone out to get scrap, leaving them behind to take care of customers. Cap’n leaned back in his chair, idly rocking as he tried to balance a pencil on the center of his face.
“Hey,” Mark suddenly poked his side. “Give me your hoodie, I’m cold.”
Cap’n sat up, the force nearly knocking him from the chair. “What?! B– But don’t you have your own jacket?”
Mark nodded, “but yours is closer.” “Mine is also currently being used,” Cap’n pointed out.
Despite this, he was already pulling the hoodie over his head. The bandana naturally followed with it. “Here,” he looked away as he handed the hoodie over. “Don’t get it dirty or anything,” he mumbled.
“Thanks!” Mark took it in his hands and held it out. A small part of him had always wondered what his hoodie felt like. Cap’n wore it every day, surely it was comfortable. Without another thought, he put it on. The hoodie itself barely covered the speaker's chest, the sleeves felt a bit tight on his arms, but it wasn’t too terribly uncomfortable. It felt… soft, warm. Though, he figured that’s just because it had been on Cap’n a short moment ago. He tied the bandana around his neck, letting it hang loosely.
“How’s it fit?” Cap’n asked. He spared a stray glance his way.
Mark smiled, “small,” he said. “It’s not that small! You’re just freakishly tall!” “Hm, K_K’s taller,” he pointed out. “Whatever!”
The two went back to managing the front. Well, as much as they could with no customers. It was almost agonizingly slow. The clock ticked and tocked, the monotony drove Cap’n up a wall. But, the worst part was that he realized Mark had been right. It was cold.
His eyes looked to Mark, who idly stood beside him. He didn’t seem to take notice of his glances. It wouldn’t hurt to keep looking, could it?
Just a little longer.
Mark… certainly wasn’t conventionally attractive, but there was a ruggishness about him. If he had to describe it, he’d describe it as finding an old vinyl in a pawn shop. That could mean different things to different people. Some might hear that and think he meant Mark was like something unwanted, something someone had found no use for anymore and pawned off for a couple bucks.
But to Cap’n it meant finding that record. It meant looking at that record and still seeing the shine beneath the dust. Playing the record, hearing something so obviously meant for more than what it’d been given.
Cap’n wished he still had his bandana to hide his blush.
He turned back and hopped off the chair. “Where’s your jacket?” he asked. “Now I’m cold.”
“Do you want yours back?” Mark asked. “No, you're using it. Unlike you, I know better than to steal clothes off someone’s back.”
Mark grinned at the rugged comeback. “In the shop by my workbench.” If there was one thing about Cap that he could always count on, it was that bite back in his words. Ironic that such a guy that short had such a haughty attitude. Just another trait Mark and others found so charming.
Cap’n didn’t waste any more time getting into the shop and finding his jacket. He peeked over his shoulder before holding it. The jacket was way bigger than his. It’d definitely engulf him.
Though, that wouldn’t be so bad, right?
He put the jacket on. He was right. It did engulf him.
It reached past his waist, hanging just above his knees. Still, it was oddly comfortable. For a moment he considered just standing there, getting a feel for the new material. But… no, he had work.
He walked back out and was surprised to see Mark already looking his direction.
“What?” “Cute.”
Cap’n’s face heat up, immediately feeling it rush to his cheeks. “I am not!”
“Sure, whatever,” Mark smiled.
At least they weren’t cold anymore. Even if the fits didn’t quite fit the way they’d wanted.

high school mark and sunny, like sunny's studying a lot and mark is like trying to get her to relax?
if that's okay
Of course, of course!
Title: Keep Away Words: 1,252
Mark -> gqyass Sunny -> teakoodrawz
The breeze was gentle during the fall. Leaves were already turning various shades of reds and yellows, decorating the quad like paint. It wasn't quite chilly yet, the wind still held some warmth.
Which Sunny was grateful for, she always liked studying outside more than she did inside. When she was outdoors she had the opportunity to find a quiet, remote space all to herself. She could fly to a rooftop if she really wanted. Meanwhile, indoors there was always the chance of someone being overly obnoxious. Especially Queen. They weren't... friends, but they were close. Being on the same cheerleading squad would do that, she supposed. She didn't even hate Queen, her boyfriend on the other hand...
Anyway, Queen had an awful knack of being a chatterbox. Even if Sunny was trying to study, Queen made it impossible to focus.
She could've partnered with Sweet, of course. But recently he's been so busy with Cakes and Cap'n, she didn't want to be a bother. Plus, it was nice outside. The quiet would do her some good.
"Sunny!"
Or not.
Turning, she saw the face of her friend, and long-time crush, Mark. He also had a knack for distracting her while she was trying to study.
"Whatcha doin'?" He plopped beside her at the picnic table, a goofy smile on his face.
Sunny looked at her notes, "I'm trying to study for my History final."
"Hmm," Mark looked over her shoulder, "sounds boring. C'mon, let's go do something fun."
"Can't. Gotta study." Rejecting his offer was almost gut-wrenching. She'd truly love to go pull pranks on teachers or spray paint something on a building. Last time they set something on fire.
But she couldn't go. She could still hear her parents yelling over the phone at the last B she got on her report card. If she wanted to avoid another screaming match, she had to pass this final.
"Awe, c'mon," Mark shoved the books away, ignoring the annoyed glance she shot him. "A little break won't hurt. Ya been studying since what, school let out? And you studied yesterday, and the day before that--"
"You should study, too, ya know," Sunny forcefully took her notes back. "You're lucky you have Spamton and Jevil to help get you those test answers."
"You could use 'em, too," Mark smiled. "I'm sure the guys wouldn't mind doin' another 'Copy Paper' run." Code for: Copy Test Papers.
"No, those two can hardly stand being in the same room. I don't know how they haven't gotten caught yet."
Mark hummed. It was pretty odd. Anytime those two were together they were bickering and antagonizing each other. "I mean, they crawl through the vents to the teacher lounge, so it's not like anyone can see 'em." He shrugged it off.
Sunny rolled her eye. Only Mark could make those two work together.
"I'm serious though," he slapped a hand over her notepad, yanking it towards him, "you need a break." He held the notepad above his head.
"Mark!" Sunny tried to reach for it, but he stood up. "Mark, I need that!" She stood up on the picnic table, trying to reach the notepad. He took multiple steps away.
"Come get it then," he tucked the notepad in his jacket and ran. "Mark! I'm not playing around!"
But he didn't stop running.
Narrowing her eyes, Sunny removed her jacket, letting her wings expand. Fine. If he wanted to play then she would. Taking towards the sky, he'd never see her coming.
Mark turned when he stopped hearing her shout. "Sunny?" he frowned when he didn't see her. Had he taken it too far? "Uh," his head swiveled, looking around, still no sign of her. Man. He looked at the notepad. Maybe he actually hurt her feelings or something?
"Gotcha!"
Looking up, it was far too late for him to move. Coming in fast from the sky was Sunny, wings tucked in as she dove towards him. Letting out a pitiful, high-pitched shrill, he held the notepad up for some cover as he brought his body into itself. Then the notepad was gone.
"Thank you!" Sunny beamed as he grabbed the notepad and took back to the sky, the gust of wind from her wings momentarily chilling Mark.
"Hey! No fair!" Sometimes he forgot she had wings. She hardly ever let them out, so it always escaped his mind. Dashing after her, he saw her land in a tree. "Sunny, c'mon, get down," he smiled.
"Hmm," she held a finger to her cheek in fake contemplation, "no."
"Sunny," Mark's voice dropped. "I'll climb up there," he threatened.
To this, she just scoffed. Mark was terrible at climbing, not to mention she could always fly away again.
To her surprise, he was already beginning his trek up the tree. His long arms were good for grabbing limbs to pull up on, but his feet couldn't find any hold. She jumped up another branch, grinning down at him.
He rolled his eyes. If she thought she was gonna get out of having fun, she had another thing coming. She worked way too hard as it was. Finally finding a foothold, he pulled himself up a considerable length. He threw his leg around a big limb, sitting up he peered up the tree. Sunny was at the top, the sun hitting her feathers. He could barely see her outline through the sun's rays. He stood up, reaching for another limb. The best one to grab was just barely out of reach, if he jumped he could probably grab it. He bent his knees, getting ready to swing his arms when he heard a loud crack. His expression immediately paled.
"Ah, shi--"
He fell, tree limb and all. He heard Sunny call his name as he landed on the ground with a thud.
In seconds she was beside him, "Mark," she fretted, her hands hesitant to touch him. "Are you okay? Nothing's broken, is it?"
He shook his head, nothing felt hurt. Other than his pride. He rubbed his head, "ah--" he winced. He held a hand there, doubling over.
Sunny gasped, "you're head? Is it a concussion? I can go grab--"
And then he jumped up, notepad above his head, "fooled ya," he beamed. He would've taken off running again, but seeing her concerned face switch from confusion to exasperated to anger was too funny.
"Mark!" She scolded, "I really thought you were hurt!" A small tear in her eye.
"Awe, I'm sorry," Mark squatted down to her level, nudging his head against hers. "I'm fine, promise," a low purr sounded. Blush forming, he quickly stood, creating some distance. "B-- But uh, uh, uhm, yeah! Haha, looks like I win. C'mon let's do something fun and then," he held the notepad in front of her, pulling it back when she tried to swipe it, "I'll give this back."
Sunny huffed. "Sure, fine, what did you have in mind?" She crossed her arms, shifting weight to her side.
Mark stilled, "uh... I don't actually know. Any ideas?" Sunny deadpanned. "You don't even have an idea?" "Nope!" He popped the 'P'.
She sighed, "c'mon," she waved. "Let's go see if we can put hot sauce in King's water bottle again."
Mark beamed, "you always have the best ideas!"
The two walked off to get their supplies for the prank. The fall wind, gently blew behind them. The leaves crunching with each of their steps.
Being outside had been good for her after all.

SCC kisses post concert 👀
Anon, this has been rotating in my head foever, thank you 🙏✨
Title: "After Party" Words: 661
They could still hear the applause ringing out from the dressing rooms.
“Why did we need a dressing room anyway?” Cap’n asked. “We wear the same stuff every day.”
“For the aesthetic~!”
Cap’n thought on this for a moment before nodding, “you’re right. If we’re gonna be stars, we might as well live like ‘em.” He fell back onto the couch, “we put on a good show, though, didn’t we? Listen to that crowd!”
Sweet swiveled around in the makeup chair, half the designs they had painted on were now gone. “We kicked ass!”
K_K nodded in agreement, “best concert of the year~!”
“Exactly!” Sweet beamed, “and since it’s the first concert of the year it can only get better!”
Cap’n grinned, it’s impossible to not get hyped up when those two were excited, too. “I bet next go-round, we have ‘em clamoring on stage.”
“Oh man, you nailed that solo,” Sweet turned back to the mirror. His eye focused on his face, but he could see Cap’n from the background.
“Man, I did, didn’t I?” Cap’n stood, looking at himself in the mirror. “You guys were awesome with that one set though– K_K! You like, improv-ed some moves out there, what was that?” He leaned against the back of Sweet’s chair.
K_K blushed, “ah~ I forgot the other moves so I made something up.”
“On the spot like that?” Eyebrows raised, “that’s so cool! If that had been me, I for sure would’ve froze.”
Sweet nodded in agreement, “I definitely would’ve messed it up, too. This is why you’re the dancer, you’re great on your feet!”
Any more praise and K_K thought his processors would explode. “Awe~ Thanks guys, I just wanted the show to go well.”
Sweet hopped off the chair and allowed Cap’n to steal it as they walked to Cakes. “I think you did amazing,” they grabbed some makeup wipes as he leaned down. “I think they liked the makeup looks, good idea, Cap.”
Cap’n’s chest puffed, “yeah, I know what the crowd likes,” he bragged. Truthfully, he just knew what would look good. He wanted himself, and his bandmates to look the part. They were raising stars– they deserved to look like it!
He looked at his clothes, maybe a few costume changes should make their way into the next schedule?
K_K closed its eyes as Sweet slowly wiped the makeup from their face, “we all did great~!” He wrapped his arms around the speaker, bringing him into his lap and smothering him in kisses. “You~ Did~ So~ Good~ !” He squealed between kisses.
“K_K!” Sweet laughed, “knock it off!” They said this, but made no attempt to remove themselves from his arms or lap. “You too, Cap!” K_K extended an arm, stretching it to the other chair and pulling it closer. He plucked the cassette onto his other knee, smushing their faces together as electric shocks sparked around them. “Ah, geez,” Cap’n fumbled, “I– I–” he gulped, “is… is this cuz of the solo?”
The smile on K_K’s face grew, which was the only answer the cassette received before being clobbered into another tight hug.
“I just love you guys so much~!”
“We love you too, K_K,” the smaller bots replied through strained voices.
Arms slacked as the death hug was released. The smaller bots, already close, had their hands on top of each other and around the taller’s back. Their other hands were quickly taken into its hands. “I hope we have more great shows,” he kissed the top of their hands.
“Course we will!” Cap’n smiled. “Yeah!” Sweet agreed.
K_K hummed and leaned their foreheads to meet. “You’re right~ I shouldn’t worry,” eyes closed as he rocked.
“Exactly,” Sweet said, “we’d never let each other down like that.” “Or the fans!” Cap’n added. “Or the fans.”
The two planted synchronized kisses to K_K’s cheeks. “It’s a promise,” the two smiled. K_K returned the smile was two gentle squeezes to their hands. “It’s a promise~”

Of course!
Title: Futon for Thought? Words: 1,395
“Awe~ !” Cakes beamed, “you guys didn’t have to do all this!” Walking into their partners’ room, he was only moderately surprised by the decorations.
“Well,” Sweet said, matter-of-factly, “this is your first time watching the Star Wars trilogy and I wanted to make sure you were fully immersed in the world.”
The room had all the normal geeky action figures and dolls that normally were situated in the room. The exception was the themed popcorn bowl and a cardboard cut-out of Luke Skywalker.
“And! And!” Sweet jumped, “I printed off a bunch of Clone Trooper masks to wear– or, I have a Chewbacca one– I wear the Luke mask– but you can be Yoda if you want!”
Cakes smiled, “who do you want me to be?”
Sweet hummed and placed a hand under his head to think. “Hmm… you’re really smart like Yoda, but you’re funny and strong like Chewbacca…”
“He could be Jar-Jar!” Cap’n spoke up.
Cakes saw the horrified look sweep over Sweet’s expression. “Jar-Jar Binks? You want K_K to be Jar-Jar? Star Wars isn’t a movie trilogy that’s meant to have characters like Jar-Jar. It is widely considered a bad decision and I wholeheartedly– ”
“Oh, I like Jar-Jar!” Cakes smiled.
“– don’t stand by any of that! Give me a second to get a Jar-Jar mask for you.” Sweet pushed past Cakes and into the hallway to get to the copy room.
Cap’n snorted out a laugh as he finished getting the futon set up. “Here we go, all cozy for the movie-thon,” he jumped into the center. Pillows and blankets covered the piece of furniture, Cakes was sure it wouldn’t last long as a couch until they turned it into a bed for added room. A cooler sat by the end, full of soda pop and juices, maybe a few bottles of Battery Acid. On the floor were bags of popcorn and chips, and a cookie tin sat on top of the cooler. “Just what every movie-thon needs,” Cap’n winked, “unhealthy choices!”
Cakes sat on the couch beside him, taking in the ambiance.
The TV was huge, it took up half the space between the pairs beds. And with the added futon, there was hardly any space to walk. But that just made it more fun!
“How’d you guys even get a TV?” Cakes asked. “Sweet’s parents bought a new one, gave them this one for free ‘cuz they think it’s trash.”
Cakes sent an unsure look Cap’n’s direction. It had never so much as owned a TV before. Why would anyone think a TV that could still run was trash? But all Cap’n did was shrug back. “The VHS tapes are good by the way, and we already cleaned the player so we shouldn’t have any trouble at all tonight.”
He leaned against Cakes, who gladly wrapped an arm around his shoulder. “I’m excited to watch these movies with you guys~” It leaned in, placing a small kiss on the top of his head. The cassette player closed his eyes, melting into the moment. “We’re excited… uh, too,” he stammered.
Sweet came in a moment later, with a black and white Jar-Jar Binks mask. “I… I didn’t really think about the eyehole situation…” They mumbled. Looking at all the masks, they realized a few things. One, he only had one eye and Luke had two eyes. Two, Jar-Jar’s eyes were like a snail's, there was no way Cakes could wear the mask.
“What do you mean? Watch,” Cakes took the Jar-Jar Binks mask, reached for some tape from one of their desks and taped it to his forehead. In an act of true comedic genius, his eyes were completely undeterred by the ‘mask’ in the middle of his face.
“It’s a me! Jar-Jar!” “That’s Mario!”
The trio laughed as Cakes took the Luke mask and cut the center out, “one eye Luke, just for you!”
Sweet chuffed, placing the mask on and settling on the opposite side of Cakes.
“You didn’t want a mask, Cap?” Cakes asked. “And hide this face?” Cap’n raised an eyebrow, “nope!”
The movie started, and the three all remained glued to the screen. The opening music played, immediately making a huge smile cross Jar-Jar, er– Cakes’ face. Sweet read the opening out loud, full of emotion. Seeing them so happy made its smile grow even bigger.
As the movie continued to play, the trio did eventually flip the futon into the bed. Lights were out and the three were still snacking on the various assortment of cookies, chips, popcorn, and drinks available.
Though, it became increasingly harder to keep up with all the movies the later it got. As always, the two smaller partners were cuddled up next to Cakes. The more tired he grew, the more aware of them he grew. Their breathing, the small movements, even the occasional yawn. It liked being this close. It liked being so close that it could feel every bit of them. Sweet moved his leg closer, resting his knee on top of their leg, Cap’n’s were already tossed over.
“K_K?” Sweet sat up, “are you okay?” They’d noticed it grow a bit quiet. “Are you scared? Don’t worry about the giant worm, they get out–”
“Spoilers, dude!” Cap’n reached across Cakes' body to slap their elbow. “You’ve seen this movie as many times as I have!” Sweet shot back. “But K_K hasn’t!” Cap’n shouted. “Oh, sorry, K_K,” Sweet shrunk. “No, no, it’s fine~” they smiled.
Sweet sat back down, a little further than before.
And it felt so cold.
Cakes frowned, wrapping an arm around them and pulling them back. “I said it’s okay, you don’t have to sit away.” His smile tried to hide the desperation in his voice.
He’d grown so accustomed to feeling the two of them beside him. He didn’t want to lose their touch. He needed to feel them, if they were beside him, he knew they were okay. Perhaps that’s why he couldn’t sleep well anymore. He wanted to be in the futon, he wanted to be with them. They gave him the physical affection he never had. Hugs, kisses, brushing their arms or legs against his. It meant so much to just feel secure in their arms. Maybe, it was less about knowing if they were safe, and more about feeling safe, himself.
It couldn’t help itself. He knew he was stronger, but they made him feel so weak. And it felt good to be so weak around them.
The speaker saw the desperation, they felt the hold grow tighter. They let themself be pulled closer, feeling Cakes immediately relax. Sweet knew what it meant when Cakes got like this, the touch of clinginess was a sign he was well aware of. It was something he shared with Cap’n.
“You want to cuddle?” They asked, pausing the movie. A silence went through the room, until Cakes let out a pitiful, “yeah.” Cakes and Sweet removed their masks, tossing them to the ground.
The three clambered over the pillows and blankets until finally situated comfortably. Cakes lay in the middle, Cap’n facing him and Sweet wrapped behind.
“Thank you,” he mumbled, half-awake. “For what?” Cap’n asked, “for sleepin’?” “No,” Cakes pushed his face into Cap’n’s chest, “for holding me.”
Sweet began to rub his back, “we’re here anytime.” “I know,” Cakes mumbled, a new touch of yearning accompanied his tone.
Cap’n kissed the top of his head as he ran his hands up and down Cakes’ arms.
“I love you two so much,” it admitted. “I’ve wanted to love people I shouldn’t, people that hurt me. It… It means a lot to me, that I love you, and I know it’s okay to love you. That I can feel safe with you.”
More kisses peppered his head and back. Each accompanied with more touch, fully immersing Cakes into their arms. He melted. He couldn’t even hear their responses, he was lost in the security they brought him.
In their arms, he could relax as they cradled him. In their hands, he could sleep knowing he was loved. In their touch, he could feel all negativity be chased away. Like some divine blessing.
Cakes worried, though.
It had never been loved this much, never this wholly. And now that he knew what it felt like, he didn’t think he could ever go back.

Cap’n with ficlet prompt B
PLEASE
B: Under Cover of Darkness
You got it, dude!
There never was something called ‘day’ in Cyber City. The eternal night meant an existence of eternal dark. Not that any residents could miss something like that, especially since they’ve never seen what ‘day’ was like.
But Cap’n found great solace in the dark sky, the only change was the occasional hue of green from the vaporwave sky. He looked down at the city below him, his expression unreadable. He saw two bots below the building. A grin formed, the first sign of emotion that he’d had since being outside.
The two took no notice of his presence from above. Which was good, because he needed to feel unseen. At least for a little bit.
Only under the cover of darkness could he look at them the way he wanted.
The view was terrible, of course. Only being able to see the tops of their heads. He couldn't see the elated spark of energy that always bounced in Sweet’s eye, he couldn't see the smile that could make his day better with one look. But he knew they were there.
He leaned against the cement fence at the top. Looking at his bandmates with eyes no one should see. His emotions were a private matter, especially when it came to them. They were... well, they were gorgeous. Not to mention kind and silly. They all seemed to compliment each other so well. They didn't lack anything because each part of the trio filled something, a void that none other could fill. Together, they were like a melody, a song.
His favorite song.
He could hide all he wanted in their presence, but with the sky to his back and no eyes on him, he could finally feel free.
Yet, they were calling his name. He couldn't leave them down there alone. He threw a leg over the edge and dropped to the stairwell on the side. Once to the bottom, he clicked the latch for the ladder to escape, he hung from the top, a devilish smile on his lips.
He dropped in front, still holding the ladder. “Looking for me, mon cherries~ ?” He smiled, a hand on his chin as he bit his lip.
“I told you, we’d find him~ !” Cakes beamed, immediately wrapping his arms around his waist and hoisting the cassette player up to his shoulders.
“You’re normally back by now, we got worried,” Sweet narrowed their eye. Cakes lifted the smaller to his other shoulder. “Dont scare us like that again,” Sweet hit Cap’n’s back.
“What were you doing anyway~ ?” Cakes inquired, looking up at him.
“Hmm...” Cap’n looked away, a bead of sweat forming as he scratched his cheek.
“Just sight seeing.”
